Queen
4 Days Later
"Queen!" Iris yelled. "Get off your ass!" Saint growled at her as she pulled the blanket off of me and she laughed in reaction. "Don't be mad at me, Saint. Your mom is the one being annoying. Tell her to get up for me."
I felt Saint's small hand touch my back and I smiled into the covers. "Yes! Hit her," Iris whispered lowly. Saint's hand lightly tapped my back again as if he weren't trying to hurt me, and Iris cheered him on.
At his tiny request, I lowered the blanket and faced Saint. He erupted into a fit of giggled when he saw me and I smiled at him. He crawled to me and gave me a peck on the nose and sat on my back. I felt him lay down on top of me and I let myself close my eyes and relax back into the bed.
"Mommy wake up?" Saint said in his little voice as his face moved to mine. He fell as he leaned over to look at me and his face hell onto my cheek. I pulled him into my arms and groaned as I sat up in bed, and I looked up at Iris.
"I love you," I said to her. "But I want to kill you sometimes."
"I'm glad we feel the same about each other," she cheered. When she clapped her hands together, I caught another glimpse of her engagement ring and I smiled. When she caught my expression, she stopped cheering and gave me a concerned look. "Are you okay?"
"You're getting married," I said excitedly.
"Why do you look like you're about to cry though?"
"They're happy tears," I said as I waved my face with one arm. "You and Cain are so perfect for each other."
"Queen, don't make this weird," she whined. "I can still see you sobbing when he asked."
"It was a happy moment." I wiped my eyes and Iris sighed from beside me. "And guess what now."
"What?"
"We're sisters!"
"Well no, that would be pretty weird considering—"
"Don't ruin this for me, Iris," I begged. "We've leveled up."
"Okay...sis."
I squealed at the nickname and Iris shook her head. This was a lot of what our friendship consisted of over the years; me acting ridiculous and her quietly supporting me. I wasn't sure we'd be friends at first, but now I couldn't imagine my life without her.
"Kay," Saint said as he pointed to the door. Ever since he could talk, he's been calling Cain 'Kay'. We corrected him every time and we were positive that he knew what he was doing. He just had to enjoy messing with us.
"Cain?" Iris asked him.
"Kay come get me?" He asked her.
"I don't kn—"
The door that Saint was pointing to opened up, and as he said in his own way, Cain peeked his head into the door. "Hey, I'm here for the tiny demon."
Saint quickly hopped off of my laugh and ran to Cain's leg and wrapped his arms around it. "Kay!"
"Okay anyways," Cain said as he walked into the room, slowly moving his leg so Saint wouldn't fall. "When are you two going to the club?"
"Tonight," Iris answered. "IF Queen gets up."
"I'm up," I said defensively as I held my arms out in defense.
"Good," Cain said. "It's almost six, you've been sleeping all day."
"I had work until 9 a.m," I groaned. "You guys make it sound like I'm lazy."
"From Queen of Hell to fashion model," Cain spoke in mock fascination. "Whatever will be next for her?"
"Get out," Iris and I said at the same time.
"Assholes," Cain muttered before lifting Saint into his arms and walking towards the door.
"I love you!" Iris said to him as he left.
"Mhmm. I love you too. I want to see what you're wearing before you leave," he said.
"Why?"
"I'd like to know what type of men you'll be dealing with tonight. Come see me before you go." They exchanged a look before he left the room and my face scrunched up as I turned to her.
"Ew!" I said in disgust. "You guys are gonna have sex!"
"I mean..."
"Lie to me, Iris," I begged. "Tell me you're celibate and what I hear in the middle of the night is just the wind."
"That," she started with a large smile. "Would be a big ass lie." She burst out into laughter and my mouth dropped. I knew they were intimate of course, but the thought of my brothers doing anything related to that was gross.
"Yuck," I said. "Where is Abel?"
"I think he went to go get groceries," she said. "He and Cain are having a movie marathon with Saint."
"What movie?"
"Some scary series," she shrugged. "I didn't ask. Do you want me to?"
"No, it's fine," I sighed as I stood up and stretched. "I'm sure Saint has done worse than whatever they choose to watch. Let's get ready."

I waited in the car as Iris talked to Cain and I sighed as I checked my emails. I received a confirmation email from a group I had signed Saint and I up on, and Syn's email at the bottom gave me chills.
I hadn't spoken to him since I had left, but I'd heard the rumors. I knew it was bad when he was in Hell and I was hearing about him on Earth. The Supernatural community here could not stop talking about him. I rolled my eyes when they expressed their fear of him and his reign. Regardless of everything, I knew that Syn was going to do what was best for the Underworld.
I set my phone down when I saw no other notifications, and I turned on the music in the car. I hummed and tapped on the steering wheel as I looked around, but when my eyes looked in the rearview mirror they landed on a black SUV on the opposite side of the road.
They had all black tinted windows and I would've thought it was normal...IF we didn't live in the middle of nowhere. The large mansion was surrounded by a large forest, meaning that the roads were practically secluded. It didn't make sense that a car, such a clean and expensive one would be out here on a dusty road.
I began to wonder if the car was abandoned or if someone was in it, so I opened the driver's side door of my car and crossed the street. The black car didn't move at all as I walked towards it, and I knocked on the windows. "Hello?"
The road was eerily quiet and there was no semblance of life inside of it. If it was abandoned, the only thing I could do was make sure it was locked and call the police. With that in mind, my hand dropped to the door handle and I slowly pulled on it. I frowned when it began to open, but as quickly as it opened, it shut closed and I stepped back as the car roared to life.
Someone pulled it closed from inside.
It sped away from where I was standing, and my heart began pounding out of my chest. Someone was in there, and that meant that they had just watched me attempt to talk to them...and they made no move to talk back. Why did they wait? If they didn't want to speak, why stay as long as they did?
Weird.
It definitely was, but if I saw them again, I wouldn't be as nice as I was right now. My son was in this house and I refused to risk his safety. Hopefully the person in the car was just a reporter or paparazzi from the underworld. We had a few of those already.
"Queen!" Iris called from my car across the street. "What are you doing? Are you ready to go?"
"Yes, sorry!"

I locked arms with Iris after we parked the car, and we walked together into the busy club. I adjusted my short dress and let out a breath as I looked at the crowd surrounding the look. We walked together through the parking lot, but before we reached the club, Iris turned to face me.
"Let's check everything," she said. I smiled as she examined my face for any flaws in my makeup, and then she moved to sort my dress into my body. She stepped back to look at me and circled me slowly before clapping her hands. "You look perfect as always."
"Your turn," I said in a rushed voice as people began passing us. She giggled as I tilted her chin from side to side and when I lifted her head, I saw a fresh hickey on her neck. "Girl," I said. "Is this why you were late to the car?"
"What?"
"There's a fatass hickey on your neck," I laughed.
"Are you serious?" I pulled out a mirror from my purse and opened it for her to look at. When she saw it in the small reflection, she rolled her eyes and closed it. "I swear Cain does it on purpose."
"Do you want to get concealer?"
"Nah, it's okay," she said. "At least anyone within three feet of me will know that I'm with someone."
"So you're just going to let him mark you like that?"
"I'll get him back," she said slyly and a disgusted look appeared on my face again. We locked arms once again and held on tightly to one another before walking to the bouncer. We told him our names, and he immediately let us in.
We walked into the loud club, and rays of colors in beat with the music flashed in all directions. Down the small steps to the left, was a dance floor full of a crowd of bodies, and to my right, there was a bar. Past it was where private parties were being held and people danced in their sections.
I looked up and saw our friends dancing with a few guys at one, and I leaned into Iris's ear. "They're up there." Her eyes found them in the direction I instructed and we walked towards them.
"You guys came!" Anna cheered excitedly as she balanced a bottle in her other hand. She walked towards us and threw her arms over the both of us. It was clear that she was drunk and I looked over her shoulder to see her boyfriend slightly shaking his head. She was an amazing person, but when alcohol was in her system, she didn't give a fuck about anything.
"Okay move damn," Our other friend Xoe spoke. Anna groaned as she stepped away from us and Xoe kissed both sides of our cheeks and hugged us. "Hey, mamas." She said sweetly. "I'm glad you guys came."
"We wouldn't miss it," Iris said. "Congratulations by the way."
"Thank you so much." Not only were we here to have fun, but Xoe was also celebrating the launch of her athletic wear line. I met her during a modeling shoot a year ago, and ever since then, she's just been IT. I had no idea where I'd be without her support.
She and Anna had no idea about the supernatural world. To them, I was just a regular human and it sucked to not tell them the full truth, but it was for the best. I was almost positive Anna would run for the hills, but I wasn't quite sure how Xoe would react.
Even if I were to tell them, how would I?
Hey, I'm the daughter of one of the first humans and I was also the Queen of Hell...They would probably send me into a psych ward.
"Okay, let's get drinks," Anna said.
"Slow down, girl," Xoe said comfortingly as she rubbed Anna's back. "The only drink you need right now is water. Let's go." She looked up at us with a smile before walking past us, and I smiled back.
"Let's dance!" Iris suggested.
"I need a shot, or six," I told her. I bent down to get a bottle and two glass shot cups. I didn't miss the way Anna's boyfriend had his eyes glued to my chest, and I looked at him in disgust. I stood back up and faced Iris who was slightly dancing to the music and she took one cup.
I filled our glasses to the brim four times before we were content with the light buzz we had going. "Okay come on," she said. We set out drinks down and she pulled my hand down the walkway and to the dance floor.
We began dancing almost immediately after reaching the floor, and I laughed at the creeped out look on Iris's face every time someone tried to touch her. She, of course, danced through the discomfort, but it was still hilarious to see. Xoe and Anna joined us on the floor a while later and I cringed as I saw her boyfriend sneaking looks at me.
We'd told Anna multiple times that he made us uncomfortable, but they were high school sweethearts and she was blind to the pure disrespect he always seemed to display.
"Okay okay," Xoe said as she fanned herself. "I'm done here. I'm going to go back to the table."
"I'll come with you," I said tiredly as my heels began to ache.
I looked to Iris to see what she was going to do, but a guy was trying to touch her as she danced. She immediately pushed him away and pointed a finger at him as she faced him. "Give me fucking six feet!"
"The virus is gone, love."
"Okay, but your breath smells like ass," she retorted. I snickered at the expression that appeared on his face and Iris reached out for my hand and we walked out of the dance floor together. "Fucking weirdos."
While walking back to our table, we passed the entrance. My eyes were watching my feet in the dark walkway, but a familiar scent passing by me made me look around. I saw the regular party goers as I glanced around the club, but something felt off.
"You good?" Iris asked.
I quickly regained my composure and nodded. I pushed down the strange feeling I got and we continued walking to our section. I didn't know how much we drank, but it felt like my body was floating as I swayed side to side in the comfortable seat. Iris was on her phone as she leaned her arms on the railing onlooking the crowd below.
When my butt began getting numb, I stood up and joined her. "Hey," I said as I leaned my head against her shoulder.
"Hey, are you having fun?"
"Yes, I need to go pee though," I said.
"Do you want me to come with you?" She asked.
"No, it's okay. I can take care of myself," I said with a giggle. "I'll be right back in like one minute."
"Okay," she said hesitantly. "Make sure your phone is on you."
"It is." I walked away from the section and down the now-familiar walkway and passed the entrance. I had to go through the dance floor to make it down to the bathroom, and that's when I realized I was a lot drunker than I thought.
I blinked through my hazy vision and carefully maneuvered my way through the dancing bodies. "Sorry," I said as I bumped into somebody. I tried to maintain my balance as people pushed against me, but with someone bumping into me, I tripped and fell face forward.
I screamed as I began to fall, but when an arm wrapped around my waist, I froze. My hair cascaded in my face as I stared down at the floor I should've landed on, and my hands were firmly gripping the stranger's muscular arm. I could feel a hard body plush against my own and my heart sped out of my chest.
They pulled me fully up until my head was leaning against their chest, and I felt their lips move to my ear. The smell of their cologne brought back a rush of memories and I eased into the familiarity of it. Their lips grazed my ear and the movement sent shivers down my spine.
"You should be a lot more careful, Princess."
Gasp.
