Syn

I fucked up.

Hurting her was the last thing I ever wanted to do, but I let my anger consume me. Cas had warned me about something like this happening in the past, but I never thought I'd actually be capable of it.

I loved Queen more than anything in the world, but the thought of her treachery just flipped a switch inside of me.

I quickly put on my clothes in the closet and rushed out of the bedroom. I needed to talk to someone and I needed to do it fast. I had no idea what to do.

I rushed down the halls to Caspian's room and I knocked on the door impatiently. My mind kept flashing images of the fear in Queen's eyes and it pained me. How could I hurt her after all the shit she just went through?

My eyes were stinging and my vision became watery. I quickly wiped my eyes once again and took a deep breath as I waited for the door to open. I heard the footsteps coming to the door and I ran a hand through my hair when it opened.

"Syn?" Xavier said worriedly as he looked at me. "What's wrong?"

"I need to talk to Cas," I said.

"Come in," he said as he stepped aside.

I rushed inside and paused when I saw Cas with his arm around Cleo's and I shook my head. I couldn't interrupt their moment with my issues. They both looked up at me, but their smiles dropped as they noticed the expression on my face.

"Syn, what is it?" Cleo asked with concern filling her features.

"Nothing," I said. "I'll come back later."

I turned to head towards the door, but Xavier stood in front of it and crossed his arms. "Talk to us."

"I should jus-"

"Sit down and talk, Syn," Caspian spoke up. I didn't plan on talking in front of them, but it would be too awkward to single out Cas. If I wanted to say something, it'd have to be in front of everyone.

I nodded and hesitantly sat down at the table. Everyone took a seat around me and I clasped my hands together as I took a deep breath. "I hurt Queen."

"Hurt her how?" Cas asked cautiously.

"I was angry and I just..."

"Just did what?" Cleo questioned. I could tell from the wavering in her voice that she knew I hurt her somehow, but she wanted me to say it.

"I hurt her, and then I pushed her. She fell afterward and I just left her," I admitted.

Before it happened, I saw Cleo moving to hit me. I could've grabbed her wrist to stop it from happening, but I didn't. I deserved it. Her hand connected with my cheek in a hard slap and I remained calm as her angry found its grip on me.

"You fucking dick," she screamed. "We all fucking believed in you and your ass is hurting her?! After all she's been through...what the fuck, Syn!"

"What did she do?" Caspian asked.

"That doesn't fucking matter!" Cleo snapped at him. "There is no excuse for ever hurting someone."

"Stop," Xavier said as he looked at Cleo and Cas. He turned back to me weakly and ran a hand down his face. "He wouldn't just hurt her unless he was hurt. That's not an excuse, but we should listen to his side."

Cleo crossed her arms and rolled her eyes and I ran a hand through my hair. "She's cheating on me."

"What?" Cleo asked as her anger faltered. "No, she's not."

"How do you know?" Xavier asked.

They listened as I explained the entire event with Cain in the car and then what happened when she got home. I told them about how I asked her about where she was going tonight and she acted secretive. I went as far as to speak about what happened in the shower in detail and when I was done, they were stunned.

"Oh my Queen," Cleo whispered as she covered her mouth.

"Wow," Xavier said in shock. "That doesn't sound like her at all."

"Are you sure she's cheating, Syn?" Caspian asked. "You're basing it off a message."

"No, I'm basing it off a call, messages, and then her lying to me about where she's going," I said. "If this were the both of you and Cleo in the situation, what would you think?"

"I'd think she was cheating," Xavier admitted lowly.

"What are you going to do?" Cas asked.

"I'm going to leave," I said.

"Leave?" Cleo asked in disdain. "The old Syn would never just leave. He would've fought for his girl."

"The old Queen...the one that wasn't a cheater. That's the one I would fight for," I said. "Why would I fight for someone that's not loyal to me?"

Cleo sat back in defeat and shook her head slowly. "I don't know."

"Before you leave," Xavier spoke up. "We need to be sure. Do you know the address she's going to?"

"Yes."

"Why don't we go and see for ourselves what exactly is going on before we jump to any conclusions," Xavier offered. "I think we all know Queen well enough to know she's not a cheater."

"Okay, let's do that," Caspian said as he stood up.

"I shouldn't go,"I whispered. "I don't want anything to happen and I can't say I'd be able to control myself if I see her with another man."

"Okay," Cas nodded.

"I'll stay with him," Xavier said with a nod. "Syn send them the address and then they can go."

I nodded and they both stood up to put their shoes on. They both left to leave the room, but Cleo quickly turned around and hugged me. "I'm pissed at you for hurting her, but I love the both of you. Everything will be okay."

I remained still and Caspian squeezed my shoulder before they both left the room. When they were gone, I lowered my head into my arms and sighed.

"We're having twins," Xavier said.

I raised my head and smiled at him and he crossed his arms. "Congratulations."

"One boy and one girl," he said slowly. "I won't be naming either of them after a man who hurts people he loves so you need to get it together, Syn."

"I know," I said lowly.

"Her falling  was an accident, but you went into that shower with the intent to hurt her...whether it was physically or emotionally is irrelevant."

"Yeah," I admitted lowly.

"I'll always be here for you no matter what," Xavier said. "But I wouldn't be your best friend if I didn't call you out on your shit."

"I know," I nodded. "I'd do the same."

"Good," he said as he slapped me on the arm. "Now let's go get something to eat."
