Fury was livid at me. That was until I told him what Aurora had told me. He was mad at me for reacting the way I did, but seemed to turn his disappointed anger on Aurora. Later that day, Clint had gone to the medbay to treat a small injury, and had come back reporting that he had heard Fury giving Aurora a harsh piece of his mind.
A couple of days later, Aurora was out of medbay, having almost fully recovered from the toxin in her blood. However, the news had spread like wildfire around the Triskelion, and most of the agents were ghosting her and being overly suspicious of her. It had even been rumoured that it had reached Victoria Hand at The Hub.
I steadily ignored Aurora. So did Clint. Maria only spoke to her when she needed to, but through the way she spoke to the Swede, she let her know that she was pissed. Even Bobbi had become more distant from her.
However, I didn't feel smug, or happy that she seemed to be alone. When I saw her in the canteen, eating alone at the end of a table, I felt a stab of guilt. All I'd wanted to do was to help Aurora, but my emotions got the better of me when she told me the truth.

Me and Maria walked into the bar, fingers entwined as we held hands. It was a late Saturday night, and Maria suggested we go to a bar to take our minds off the Aurora business.
What neither of us expected, was to see the Swedish woman sat at the bar, beer in hand.
I watched as Aurora took a large mouthful of her drink and clumsily placed it on one of those rubber mats on the bar. She was clearly drunk. As I made to go towards her, Maria gently steered me away.
"She's not worth your time," my girlfriend murmured in my ear before I could protest. "Not right now."
I bit my lip and glanced back at Aurora. She seemed to not be doing much currently - just sat at the bar drinking herself into oblivion. She'd be fine for now, surely.
Me and Maria took a seat at the other end of the bar. As it was so late, the music was turned up and the lights were aimed on the dance floor, however the yellow-white lights above the bar lit up the area somewhat.
Maria ordered a martini, whilst I ordered a cocktail. As we sipped our drinks, we talked. Well, 'talked'. Since the whole business with Aurora had started, we hadn't had the time to take for ourselves, and Maria had clearly missed making me blush - making inappropriate jokes and flirting.
"I've missed this you," I commented with a smirk. "You're always so demanding, so..."
"Like a commander?" she chuckled, face flushing a light shade of pink.
"Yeah," I replied, not letting my smirk drop. "I've missed this you, you always know exactly how to make me feel."
Maria's face flushed scarlet.
"God Nat..." she mumbled, leaning towards my ear.
I could feel my face flushing a deep Scarlett as she whispered sweet nothings into my ear. She entwined her fingers in mine and clasped my hand, making my stomach flutter.
"What are you doing?" I asked her in a whisper after she gently pressed her lips against mine.
Maria's blue eyes searched mine.
"I want to do something with you," she admitted. "But only if you want to too."
I gazed back at my girlfriend, knowing what she meant.
"Yeah, I do," I breathed back, smiling. "We can head back to my apartment later."
Maria glanced back at our empty drinks.
"Wanna get another before?" she inquired with a smile.
"Sure," I replied, mirroring her smile. "I don't mind paying."
"Nat, this is my treat to you. Drinks are on me."
Suddenly, a loud cheer drew my attention to the dance floor, where a familiar blonde woman was being pulled out, stumbling over her own feet, only to be caught in the arms of a tall woman, who was also drunk.
"Oh my god..." I mumbled, amused.
Aurora seemed to be enjoying the tall woman's company, and they were clearly attracting a lot of attention from the crowd. Aurora was a lot more drunk than the woman she was dancing with however, and it sparked a suspicion in me - one which Maria seemed to share.
Turning to her, I said pleadingly, "I know she's not our problem, but Fury's gonna go mad if we don't do anything."
Thankfully, Maria seemed to understand my worries and nodded. We got up from the bar after Maria had paid, and headed onto the dance floor towards Aurora.
"What's the plan?" I asked quietly as Maria took my hand and we proceeded to dance beside the two girls.
Looking around, I searched for any potential threats, and to my relief, saw none.
"I'll distract the woman, you grab Aurora and get her out of here. I'll follow on," Maria told me.
"Alright, get ready for impact," I chuckled, stepping back and spinning Maria.
I let go of her, so she stumbled against the tall woman, who squeaked and let go of Aurora. I quickly but discreetly took Aurora's wrist and twirled her effortlessly, catching her when she inevitably tripped over her own feet.
"Come on, let's get you somewhere safer," I mumbled in her ear as I led her off the dance floor.
"Neeeej," she complained, dragging out her response.
"I'm gonna assume that means 'no'," I grunted as I put her weight on me as she kept falling. "And I'm not gonna listen to you anyway."
Slurred words fell from the woman's lips as I led her out of the bar - none of them making any sense to me. Her words were so drunkenly slurred that I couldn't even tell if she was speaking English or Swedish.
Once I managed to get us out of the bar, I led Aurora towards the car we had brought. Maria came out of the bar a few moments after.
"Looks like we're gonna have to reschedule our night," she commented with a sigh.
"Yep," I muttered, mildly irritated.
I opened the door of the back seat of the car and nudged Aurora towards it, but she shook her head and stumbled away a few steps. On the kerbside, she doubled over, hands on her stomach as she threw up.
"Oh my god," I muttered, turning my head away.
"At least she's getting it out of her system," Maria commented. "She'll hopefully have less of a hangover tomorrow."
I sighed.
"We're gonna have to deal with that tomorrow morning," I commented.
"Why?" Maria asked.
I looked at her.
"We can't possibly take her back to the Triskelion in this state. It's 11pm and she's too drunk to see where she's putting her feet," I explained, gesturing with my hand towards Aurora, who was groaning in pain as she clutched her stomach. "It'd be much safer to take her back to my apartment for the night."
"And in the morning?" Maria questioned. "How will we get her back to the Triskelion with a huge hangover?"
Putting my hand on Maria's shoulder, I said, "We'll deal with that tomorrow."
