It's often said that absence makes the heart grow fonder. And yet, in Lola Salvatore's case she believes that saying to be the exact opposite to how she feels about her home town. She loathed Mystic Falls and all of the memories that came with it.

She felt trapped in that town, surrounded by all the dark memories. The abuse and neglect from her parents. The certain parts of the town that would take her back to the time she spent with her first love. People would automatically assume that Dominic Matthews was Lola Salvatore's first love but that wasn't the case..maybe in time, that part of Lola's life will be spoke about soon.

The last time she was in Mystic Falls was over ten years ago, that also being the last time she seen either of her brothers. The relationship between herself and Stefan hasn't been great throughout their entire history, there were certain moments in their life where they were close just as they were as humans. However, after regaining her memories from the 1920s, there was a part of Lola that wanted to mend the bond between them both.

There may have been moments in her and Damon's history where they couldn't stand to be around the other, however, those moments seemed rare and would always find themselves tormenting the other in no time. But today was not one of those moments and if Lola had her own way..it would be a long time before she would see either of her brothers again.

The sun has just began to set across the sky as Lola and Nate walk through the grounds of Harvard University. They travelled here to watch Adrianna when she was invited to be a guest speaker within the Psychology department. Nate tries to be a few steps ahead of Lola, unable to take hearing Damon's problems on the other end of the phone until Lola takes a fistful of his jacket forcing him to stand beside her as Damon's ranting continues,

"You're spending your time walking through a college campus and watching Adrianna do boring ass psychology talks?" Damon's voice is laced with disgust, Lola can practically vision her brother aggressively pacing around the boarding house, "There's a little home town of yours that wants you back, Lo."

The blonde Salvatore felt unable to refrain from an obnoxious eye roll before she scoffs, "How would you want me to spend my time, brother? Going back to a town that is worse than hell all because of a Katherine 2.0?"

"Maybe you could spend your time helping your older brother out." The sound of Damon wincing making Lola pull the phone from her ear slightly. No doubt him holding his hand out in front of sunlight, thinking that by some miraculous plot twist he's able to survive without a daylight ring, "I'm stuck in the boarding house because Stefan is a dick and took my ring."

"Is that why I just heard you burning yourself like an idiot? That's even more of a reason why I'd rather be anywhere than that disgusting town. I'd rather not spend time with you and Stefan arguing like little brats." Lola's eyes can't help but scan the crowds of college students around her and Nate, mainly trying to work out who could be the next snatch, eat, erase, "I've got more important things to be doing."

Damon scoffs so loud it even makes Nate come to a harsh halt, "What could be more important than helping your big brother?"

Nate couldn't take much more of hearing Damon's incessant voice. With a tighten jaw he snatches the phone out of a fed up looking Lola's hand, "Having a life of her own, dick."

"Ah, Nathaniel." Damon drawls out in a patronising tone, "It's been a long time since I've heard your annoying ass voice."

"Sadly it hasn't been long enough." Nate matches the same tone mixed with an impatient tone, "Maybe for once just let your sister have a day where she isn't cleaning up your mess?"

Nate abruptly ends the call without giving Damon a chance to argue back before he passes the phone to an impressed looking Lola. The younger vampire gives Lola's shoulder a reassured squeeze just as he begins to step closer to the bar before Lola stands in front of him blocking him from doing so.

"Take my phone." The blonde holds her phone out towards Nate who wears a displeased look making Lola scoff, "I don't have the energy to hear any more Damon problems and I'm sure you'll take pleasure in telling him to get lost when he calls yet again. So..."

She presses her phone into Nate's chest, his hand goes against it just as Lola lets go and steps ahead of him. The appeal is always there to be a dick towards Lola's older brother, especially after the time Damon spent with them all mid-nineties. It's been over ten years and Adrianna still gets the slightest hint of a twitch in her eye at the mere mention of the oldest Salvatore.

Lola always admired the different colours in the sky as the sun began to set. Her gaze softens taking in the warm colours of pink and orange blending together in the most perfect way. Until a group of distant ripples of laughter catches the Salvatore's attention.

Her eyes flutter towards the bar in the distance, the bright red neon sign catches her attention at first. ๐™’๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™™๐™š๐™ง๐™ก๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™.

"This is where Ade wanted us to meet her?" The corners of Lola's lips twitch up in somewhat disgust towards all of the college students spilling into the bar, "Who calls a bar wonderland?"

"Come on, Lo..." Nate drawls out with amusement coating his words. His eyes lit up with merriment as he stands in front of Lola, reaching his hand out towards her, "What's the worst that could happen?"

The Salvatore still doesn't seem convinced, frowning when a group of college students rush past them both and head straight to the bar. Nate clicks his tongue before he sighs, standing behind Lola placing his hands against her shoulders,

"You never know, going down this rabbit hole might make you stumble across a curious cheshire cat." Lola turns her head slightly, the frown not leaving her face making Nate chuckle lowering himself beside her, "I'll get the first bottle of tequila. Come on."

Nate steps forward, only a few steps before Lola's phone starts to ring in his pocket. He scoffs when he sees Damon's name on the screen, "It's either come and get tequila level drunk with me or speak to this asshole." A mischievous expression covers Nate's face as he narrows his stare towards Lola who refuses to move, "I'll do it."

Lola's mouth gapes, taking a small step back, "You wouldn't dare." The corner to Nate's lips twitch up into an amused smirk before he rushes over to Lola, throwing her over his shoulder making her scream out, "I hate you so much!"

Nate can't help but laugh, hearing the playful tone in Lola's outburst, "No, you don't."

He continues to walk towards the on-campus bar with Lola over his shoulder as she tries to pull away from him which makes her accidentally elbow someone in passing, "Sorry!"

The Salvatore looks up slightly but with her hair mainly covering her face she couldn't make out who it was she bumped into and couldn't figure out if the person was blonde or it was just her own hair blocking her vision. Lola playfully hits Nate in his back as she laughs, "You're the most annoying brother on the planet."

Adrianna sits on the edge of a booth in the middle of the bustling bar, totally zoned out staring at the unopened bottle of tequila in front of her. Her nails tap against the table along to the music playing without even realising, trying to resist from opening the bottle right now.

She breathes out a sigh of relief when the bell above the door rings off and sees Nate walking in but then a smile spreads across her face realising he is carrying Lola in over his shoulder, "What did she do now?"

Lola's jaw is slack when Nate finally puts her down, her eyes are wide towards her best friend, "Why are we assuming it was me who started it this time?" She playfully nudges Nate standing beside her, "Your boyfriend is an asshole!"

Nate wears a big smile as he wraps his arm around Lola's shoulder pulling her towards him as he messes her hair, "An asshole who you just called your brother! We're making progress."

Adrianna steps closer to them as Lola pushes away from Nate rolling her eyes. Adrianna places her hands against Lola's cheeks, slightly squeezing them, "Look at my best friend being nice for once!"

"Have you started drinking without us?" Lola pushes away from Adrianna, brows are furrowed before raises her hand up, "How many fingers am I holding up?"

Adrianna's shoulders slump, giving Lola an unimpressed glare, "One. Your middle finger." She threads her arm through Lola's, guiding her towards the same booth she was sat in, "Come on, I got us a bottle."

"Wow," Lola breathes out wearing a sad smile as she grabs the unopened bottle of tequila, "This place even carries his favourite one." Adrianna and Nate sit opposite Lola in the booth as she twists the cap off, pouring them all a glass, "I wonder what his reaction would be to all three of us sitting in the middle of a college bar."

Nate chuckles softly, staring down at the full shot glass in front of him, "I don't know...it would probably include something about all the women in this place."

"His wondering eye truly was something..." Adrianna swallows harshly, blinking away the sting of tears before holding her shot up, "To Scott. One of a kind."

It became a bittersweet tradition for the trio to come together, one the same day, of the same month every year to raise a glass to Scott. It took a while for each of them to come to terms of losing someone who they may not have spent a lot of time with, but someone who left a mark on each of them in a different and unique way.

A blonde vision walks past the trio's table, unaware of what they are raising their glasses to. Instead, heading straight towards a brunette sitting at the end of the bar staring down at her phone. The blonde immediately takes her friend's phone out of her hands causing the brunette to scoff, "Seriously, Cami? I was in the middle ofโ€”"

"โ€”In the middle of speaking to David." Cami gives the brunette a sympathetic look but with a hint of displease in her eyes, "Sidney, we talked about this."

"Yeah, I know." Sidney sighs heavily with a disheartened look in her eyes, "But, he said he was sorry about what happened."

The last time Sidney was in the same proximity as David, she was trying to break up with him. Fed up of the controlling behaviour but he wouldn't allow it. Instead, he hit her. It infuriated Cami that someone was able to get away with something like this, despite trying to comfort her roommate and try to get her to see the light, it felt like it was never going to happen.

"He's a manipulator, Sid." Cami sighs softly before taking hold of her friend's hand, "I still think you should tell the police about what happened...or the Dean."

"His dad is the sheriff, Cami!" Sidney unintentionally snaps as she forcefully pulls her hand away from Cami, "Just forget it. Coming here was a mistake."

The O'Connell's jaw goes slack watching as her friend storms out of the bar, pushing past anyone in her path, "Sidney, come on!"

Cami groans running her hands through her hair taking a deep breath not knowing someone stands in the exact place Sidney was seconds earlier, "Another bottle, please." Lola taps her fingers against the edge of the bar to the rhythm of the music waiting for the next bottle of tequila until the blonde vision catches her attention beside her, "Everything okay?"

"What?" Cami lifts her head up from resting in the palm of her hands, frowning slightly until she sees a fellow blonde standing beside her wearing a faint smile, "Oh...yeah." Cami stares out in front of her. Her hand goes against the glass for less than a second before she twists in her seat, turning her full attention to Lola, "Actually no. Why is it so hard for friends to listen to you when you know something in their life is going to turn out bad?"

"We're stubborn and proud." Lola shrugs as she laughs slightly, "Also a little scared because we know deep down you're speaking nothing but the truth and we don't want to face it." Lola looks towards Cami, noticing she doesn't seem exactly pleased with the vampire's response. Lola softly places her hand against Cami's as she smiles, "Don't worry. We don't stay stubborn for long."

There was something comforting about this blonde stranger's smile. Cami couldn't quite figure out why and staring into those green eyes made her lose her train of thought. She exhales a sharp breath, feeling the heat spreading across her cheeks, "You keep saying we...are youโ€”" A blurred vision over Lola's shoulder catches Cami's attention making her frown, "Oh. I think your boyfriend is..."

Lola follows Cami's stare to see Nate and Adrianna cuddled up in the booth, acting like there is no one else in the bar. Lola shakes her head, attempting to shake that vision out of her mind as she turns back towards the back, "Oh, god. He's not my boyfriend."

A wide smile spreads across her face without even realising, "He's like a really annoying little brother that I can't get rid of. But also I don't really want to at the same time. What made you think he was my boyfriend?"

"I was the one you bumped into when he threw you over his shoulder." The blonde raises her hands up as a friendly smile graces her lips, "Apology accepted, by the way. I'mโ€”"

"Lola!" Lola turns her attention back towards the booth where Adrianna opens her jacket slightly, showing a hip flask peaking out of the pocket.

The blonde vampire can't help but laugh knowing exactly what the hip flask contains. Just as she turns back towards the bar, the bartender approaches with a fresh bottle of tequila, "Can we also get a tequila sunrise and a glass of Bordeaux. Do you guys have that?"

"They do." Cami chimes in. She fills in the second glass beside her that was intended for Sidney, to the brim with Bordeaux and pushing it along the counter towards Lola, "Here."

"Thank you." Lola's brow raises up as her interest piques, leaning closer to the human, "Does this mean I owe you?"

Cami allows her hand to brush against Lola's as the latter takes the glass, "I may take that into consideration, Lola."

There were rare instances in Lola's life where someone truly intrigued her and whenever that occurred it most definitely wasn't a human that would intrigue her. So why does this stranger draw her in? What is it about her? Was it the golden locks that fall just below her shoulders, almost inviting her to thread her fingers through it to truly feel how soft they look. Was it the green orbs that resembled emeralds, similar to her own. Lola couldn't figure it out.

"We'll bring the sunrise over to you."

The bartender's deep voice brings Lola out of her some-what trance. She flashes a polite smile towards him about to walk away until Cami speaks up once again, "Nice tattoo, by the way. Doves?"

Lola quickly glances to her bare shoulder, not realising her shirt has slipped down just enough to show off the four little doves against her shoulder blade, "Oh...yeah. Thanks."

Cami frowns, noticing Lola visibly turning uncomfortable at the mention of the art against her skin, "You don't like it? I think it'sโ€”"

"It's justโ€”" Lola stops herself realising she sounded more annoyed than she intended. She clears her throat before she shrugs, pulling her shirt over her shoulder, "It's something from my past life and honestly...I like to pretend it doesn't exist." She takes hold of the new bottle of tequila and glass of wine, "Thank you for the drink."

Nate peers around the booth to see Lola smiling at the blonde stranger at the bar before she walks towards them. As he faces forward in the booth he shrugs, "I'll just ask her. What's the big deal?"

Adrianna bites her lip to stop herself from laughing, "Nate, don'tโ€”"

"Hey." Nate straightens himself up as Lola slides into the booth opposite them. With his elbows propped up on the table he leans closer to Lola, "Did you and Scott ever end up doing it?"

"Iโ€”" Lola eyes widen, cheeks immediately turning a rosy pink colour, "I don'tโ€”" She laughs nervously glancing between an eagerly waiting Nate and Adrianna whose hands are covering her face, "What?"

"The Tequila Taste Escapade that you guys were planning on doing." The smallest hint of confusion goes against Nate's face glancing between a deer in headlights looking Lola and Adrianna who looks like she's seconds away from exploding with laughter, "Did you ever finish it?"

"Oh." A burst of laughter that's mixed with relief and nerves escapes Lola, "That. I, uh, no. No, we never finished that. But, uh you know...we could always..." She swallows harshly, cheeks feel like they're on fire as she grabs hold of the bottle of tequila, "We could always continue that whole escapade. Starting with me finishing this entire bottle."

Nate frowns watching as Lola cringes drinking the tequila straight from the bottle, "Why are you acting weird? Why is sheโ€”" He twists in his seat towards Adrianna who couldn't hold her laughter in anymore, "Why are you laughing? I don't..."

Seeing the annoyed expression against Lola's face towards Adrianna's whose laughter only intensifies makes Nate have a sudden realisation, "Wait." Nate smiles widely, eyes light up with amusement towards the Salvatore opposite him, "Oh my god!"

"No, oh my god!" Lola's voice turns almost shaky, head shaking and eyes are wide towards the grinning vampire, "There is no need to oh my god."

"Oh, there totally is." Nate laughs breathlessly, leaning back in this seat only for a moment before he straightens up, sliding out of the booth, "You and Scott? When the hell did this happen?"

Lola shakes her head, avoiding Nate's amused expression as he sits beside her, "Okay, you know whatโ€”" She raises her hands up, eyes fixated on the tequila bottle in front of her, "I don't think it's nice to talk about the dead. So, we should just stop."

Nate's shoulders slump, eyes going straight towards Adrianna who wipes away her tears of laughter from her cheeks, "I can't believe you never told me!"

"I almost did." It was Adrianna's turn to glare towards Lola who doesn't bother to hide her grin, "Remember that night in O'Malley's and I was about to tell you something but then I got something on my shirt? That was my blood." Adrianna leans forward against the table, pointing towards Lola, "Because Lola stabbed me with a fork just as I was about to walk over and tell you about her and Scott's hot, steamy night of sex the night before."

"Stop!" Holding her hand up towards Adrianna, Lola's eyes are full of annoyance yet a wide smile graces her lips, "Just stop. Iโ€”" She is interrupted when the bartender walks over with Adrianna's cocktail, all three of them sit in silence holding back their laughters before thanking the bartender.

Sitting back in her seat, Lola scoffs, "He would love this conversation right now." She reaches her hand out towards Nate, "Actually, give me my phone. I'd rather speak to Damon right now."

Nate shuffles closer to Lola, wrapping his arm around her shoulder. His tone is full of cheerfulness, "I wanna know...was he better thanโ€”"

"Do you want me to ask who Ade thinks was the best she's ever had?" Lola snaps pulling Nate's arm away from her as she wears a condescending grin, "Because I doubt she will say you."

A teasing grin twitches at the corner of Nate's lips, looking over at Adrianna who matches the same grin as he reaches his hand out across the table, "You need to pay your debts."

The grins against the couples lips only grow wider as Lola looks more and more confused towards them both, "What debts?"

"Ade and I made a bet twenty years agoโ€”"

"Actually.." Adrianna interrupts Nate, attention turning towards Lola, "This was all Nate's idea. He bet that something was bound to happen between you and Scott."

"Well, I actually bet that you both would eventually realise you were a pretty perfect match and you'd get together." Nate shrugs pouring himself a shot as he smirks, "But you two hooking up still makes me win the bet."

The redness against Lola's cheek doesn't fade, if anything it only becomes more intense, "So you both made a bet that me and Scott would end up together? We neverโ€”"

"Neither of you said that it would happen, we know." Adrianna slyly adds the blood from her hip flask to the tequila sunrise as she grins, "But you both never seen what we seen. There was always chemistry between you both and you can't deny that."

Lola's mouth gapes open about to disagree but stops when American Pie starts to play on the juke box. A strong wave of nostalgia washes over all three of them, all turning completely silent as they think back to the countless times Scott would sing along to this song. It felt like it was a sign that in some ways Scott was always with them.ย

A blonde vision catches both Lola and Adrianna's attention walking away from the jukebox. Cami smiles towards Adrianna, waving over to her before her eyes land upon Lola. The blonde vampire purses her lips, fighting back a smile when she looks down at the table towards her drink as Cami walks back towards where she was sitting previously at the bar.

Nate's stare follows the human back towards her seat, picking up on flustered look on her face when she locked eyes with Lola, "Who's the blonde?"

"Cami." Adrianna informs, passing the hip flask over to Lola, "She was in my psychology talk. She seems really sweet."

Nate grins leaning closer to Lola, pressing his shoulder against hers, "I think Lola agrees."

The Salvatore avoids anyone's stare as she scoffs, pouring blood into her wine, "I didn't even say anything!"

"You didn't need to." Nate's tone is full of amusement, almost in a singing type tone when he leans even closer to Lola, "I told you that you'd find a cheshire cat."

Lola's lips form a thin line as she pushes Nate away from her, "Can you remember that little conversation we had twenty years ago in the elevator? Keep going and that will come true."

Nate chuckles at Lola's empty threat, wrapping his arm around her and pressing a kiss against the blonde's cheek, "Actually...Ade, come on." He slides out of the booth, holding his hand out for the brunette, "I need to take back my title of being the dart champion."

She couldn't help but roll her eyes as Adrianna also slides out of the booth, intertwining her hand with Nate's, "That has never been your title."

Lola shifts to the edge of booth, smiling as she watches the couple walk to the back corner of the bar. Just as the turns to face forwards against, the same blonde from the bar sits in the booth opposite her, "I'm sorry I just have to say something. You've really got me curious."

The Salvatore raises an intrigued brow towards her, a smirk twitching in the corner of her lips, "Well, hello again. Cami." Lola's smirk only grows wider seeing the shocked look on Cami's face hearing Lola saying her name, "Do you often approach strangers like this?"

Cami's lips part about to say something until she laughs breathlessly, "Shockingly...no. I'm blaming the wine." She leans forward on the table, narrowing her stare towards Lola, "How do you know my name?"

Lola matches the same curious look that Cami wears as she shrugs, "I know things." She sits back, arms crossing against her chest, "So, tell me. What is it about me you find so curious?"

"That's the thing..I can't figure it out." Cami couldn't explain the pull she felt towards Lola, it felt indescribable.ย

"You're a smart girl, Cami.." Lola's tone is low, sending shivers down Cami's spine as the Salvatore leans closer against the table, "I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out in time."

They've only had two brief conversations within the last hour and for the both of them it felt like they had known each other for years. Cami could feel heat rising to her cheeks as she smiles, "You didn't seem surprised or shocked that I've said this to you."

"You're a psychology major, right?" Cami raises her brows at Lola's question, motioning her to continue, "I'm pretty confident that you find a lot of people curious. Curious about their personalities, curious about their background stories and maybe even curious about what happens behind closed doors. You want to understand people. So you sit here in this bar people watching, making up your own diagnosis for people."

"You know you've just described pretty much anyone who takes psychology?"

"That's a possibility.." Lola drawls out, "But with you there's that feeling of wanting to understand people's minds because you think it will help you understand your own mind more."

There was an expression against Cami's face for less than a second but Lola caught it with ease. The smile against her lips dropped, eyes widen the smallest bit knowing Lola describe everything accurately.ย

Running her hand through her hair, Cami laughs, "Let me guess..you're also taking psychology?"

"Nope." With pursed lips, Lola shrugs looking around the busy bar, "I think I'm a little too old to be joining college."

"You look the same age as me." Cami's head tilts to the side, growing even more curious towards Lola, "If not younger than me. Where are you from?"

Avoiding the blonde's gaze, Lola's eyes go straight to her wine, bringing it towards her lips, "Where are you from?"

"Why are you answering my question with a question?" Once again Cami leans forward on the table, gaze not moving away from Lola, "You're just making me even more curious. I'm from Seattle, by the way."

An endearing little grin flashed against Lola's lips, "Where I'm from is something I don't particularly like thinking about." She clears her throat, looking through the crowds quickly wanting to change conversation, "Indulge me..the new bartender over there."

Cami follows Lola's gaze to the tanned, brunette woman tying an apron around her waist. She turns back in her seat to see a captivating look on her face, "What do you think her story is?"

"I'm sensing New York.." Cami's tone turns serious yet there's a hint of playfulness mixed in, "Only just moved here and doesn't know many people. Spent one too many nights on the wrong side of the bridge in New York but has this really really sexy accent."

As the pair catch each other's gaze it felt like time had stopped. There was like this invisible pull between them and neither of them knew why but didn't feel like fighting it. Lola could hear Cami's heart beating at a rapid speed and her breathing becoming shaky and it made Lola react in the same way. The Salvatore swallows harshly coating her dried throat before lips part about to speak up until the sounds of the piano behind her starts to play. She exhales a long heavy breath, closing her eyes to compose herself when she can hear Nate singing Great Balls of Fire.

Lola may find this situation humourless but Cami felt the exact opposite watching everyone beginning to cheer Nate as he continues to sing and play the piano. She catches Lola's expression which just makes Cami laugh even more, "I take it by your expression this isn't the first time your friend has done this?"

The Salvatore's lips form a thin line as she shakes her head, "He does this wherever there's a piano." The small ounce of irritation Lola may have felt in that moment soon disappeared when she hears the crowd cheering Nate and she can't help but smile remembering all the times that he would sing this along with Scott.

Her gaze softens watching as Cami smiles broadly towards him and Adrianna standing beside her dancing along. She leans forward, voice raises over the music, "Do you want to go somewhere that's a bit more quiet?"

Cami looks back towards Lola, frowning, "What? Do you want to go somewhere that's not so loud?"

Laughter escapes Lola without even trying as Cami repeats what she said. Her smile is wide, nodding towards Cami before they both slide out of the booth and go straight towards the opposite end of the bar.

โ€”โœคโ€”

The most beautiful part about Adrianna and Nate was they weren't even looking when they found each other. It's the type of connection that two souls feel that they couldn't explain and they didn't want to explain it. They worked together and that's all that mattered. They saved each other's lives in several ways and it felt like life had truly begun when they came into each other's lives. To feel safe around someone's energy is a different kind of intimacy.ย

Adrianna had lost count how many times Nate would go straight to a piano when he found one and sang the same song he has for the past twenty years. It was a way for him to feel closer to a man he soon classed as his best friend, his brother.ย

Wrapping her arms around Nate's waist, Adrianna pulls him closer and presses her lips against his. She looks up at him in awe, brushing her lips against his, "Lets get out of here."

The warmth in Nate's eyes showed nothing but love towards his love when his hands find a place against her cheeks bringing her even closer to him until Lola's phone starts to ring once again in his pocket.ย

Adrianna rolls her eyes, instantly knowing that it's Damon calling for what felt like the hundredth time tonight, "Just turn her phone off, she won't care."

All the warmth and love that was in Nate's eyes was replaced with anger staring at Damon's name flashing up on Lola's phone, "No way. This dick needs to stop trying to control what Lola does with her own life. I don't give a shit if their brother has him trapped in the house, it's Damon. The asshole would've deserved it."

Before giving Adrianna a chance to respond, Nate answers the phone, "What part of leave Lola alone didn't compute in that thick head of yours?"

"If I wanted to hear your boring ass voice then I would've dialled the jackass hotline. Put my sister on the phone."

"You can't ring your own number, asshole." Nate wears a smug grin when he hears Damon scoff on the other end, "Lola told me to keep hold of her phone because she knows I would take pleasure in telling you to fuck off."

Nate scans across the bar that's slowly turning empty, "She isn't here anyway. I don't know where she is."

"Well find her, Nate! This is important!"

"What's so important?" Nate and Adrianna stand beside the booth they were all sat in earlier, drinks half empty and Lola's jacket still against the seat, "Kill more innocent people, huh?"

"Okay, you know what?" Damon's tone turns even more harsh than it usually is, hatred fuels his words, "It's bad enough I've got my irritating brother here patronising me. I don't need some toddler vampire doing the same over the phone. Put Lola on the phone!"ย

Nate gestures to Adrianna to stay at the booth as he walks towards the back of the bar. His hand wraps around the handle he assumes would lead to the outside of the bar when he rolls his eyes, "I've already said, I don'tโ€”"

Two blondes in the corner of the room, hands threaded through each other's hair make Nate's eyes widen. Their bodies are pressed together, lips moving in a perfect unison in a deep, heated kiss. Both of them not even realising they're no longer in the room until Nate loudly clears his throat.ย

Lola and Cami pull away from each other, both just as breathless as each other. Eyes are wide looking over to where Nate awkwardly stands holding Lola's phone up. It was so silent between all three of them, they'd be able to hear a pin drop until..

"Helloooo.." Damon drawls out in a dull tone through the phone making Lola roll her eyes fully pulling away from Cami, "Anyone there? There's a Salvatore in crisis on the phone!"

"Iโ€”" Cami starts to stutter, not knowing what to do next. She locks eyes with Lola who is just as speechless at her. Cami blushes glancing away from her before she rushes out of the room, "I should go."

Lola sucks her bottom lip between her teeth to stop herself from smiling as she notices the goofy looking grin against Nate's lips. She rolls her eyes grabbing her phone out of his grasp, "Damon, fuck off."ย

She hangs up on Damon without giving him a chance to say anything else before she switches her phone completely off. She points it towards where Nate stands, "Don't start!"

Nate chuckles at the flustered look on Lola's face as he raises his hands up, "I'm not saying anything, Lo."

Cami leans against a wall in the midst of the bar, she could feel her heart beating so rapidly it felt like it was going to come out of her chest. Her hand goes against her lips, still being able to feel Lola's lips against hers.ย

She looks towards the room that she walked out of, waiting for Lola to walk out but the seconds that she stood watching that door barely blinking, it felt like hours. Until a roguish laughter catches her attention, instantly making her entire posture turn tense. It was Sidney's boyfriend, David. Flirting with a sophomore.ย

All of the warmth and happiness Cami felt seconds before that was gone within seconds. David had the nerve to threaten Sidney if she tried to leave him and when she did try, he beat her. And now he stands in public, flirting with others girls and not even bothering to hide it. Lola was right, Cami didn't fully understand her own mind. Even as she stepped closer to where David stood, she didn't fully understand why but she couldn't bare to see him smiling around people anymore. She seen red.ย
