Chapter 48
The Five
"I'm not angry at you."
Klaus looks away from the fireplace to see Lola standing in the doorway, guilt showing all over her face. Klaus laughs slightly, "No offence, love, but you could have fooled me."
Lola shrugs as she steps further into the room, "Well maybe I am. But I'm mainly angry at myself."
Klaus furrows his brows, confused as he passes Lola a glass of bourbon, "Why would you be angry at yourself?"
Lola turns away from him, beginning to pace, "I'm building up all the anger, frustration, heartbreak and then I'm taking it out on people I don't want to! I'm arguing with you, with Rebekah and I don't want to argue with you. I'm letting it control me and I don't want to be like this!" She looks at Klaus in the eyes, as tears welled up in hers, "You know I almost killed Damon the other day? My hand was in his chest and I was so close to ripping his heart out, what kind of sister does that?"
Lola throws the glass into the burning fire making the flames rise. She runs her hands through her hair but Klaus walks over to her taking hold of both her hands, "The kind that is constantly being betrayed by her own blood."
"I'm angry I did that!" Lola exclaims as she breaks away from Klaus and begins to pace once more, "I'm angry Damon made me feel that way and I'm angry Stefan just stood and let Damon break my neck."
Klaus clears his throat as he watches her pace, "Sweetheart, I don't want you to take this the wrong way." Lola stops pacing and looks over to him signalling him to finish. Klaus looks over to her, the corner of his mouth hinting a smirk, "But I think you may be a bit angry."
Lola's mouth opens slightly, stunned at Klaus' remark, but when she sees his smile she loves so much she can't help but laugh. She closes the gap between the pair, placing her hands against Klaus' chest, "But most of all I am so angry at myself that I've not even acknowledged the fact that you're here in front of me alive." She smiles at him and runs her hand through his short curls, "You're actually here."
Klaus smiles at Lola as he wraps his arms around her wait, pulling her in closer, "I'm here, love, and I'm not going anywhere."
"Good."
In one swift motion with a strong pull, Klaus leans down and presses his lips against Lola's. The passion and heat coming from the kiss grows even deeper as they begin to rip each other's clothes off within seconds, as though they've been apart from each other for years not just days. Klaus picks Lola up, placing her on the table and laying her down before looking down at her in awe. Klaus climbs on top of Lola and begins leaving his mark by kisses all over, his warm breath sending shivers down her spine. One of his hands are gripped onto Lola's upper thigh as the other is intertwined with Lola's above her head as each other's desires kick in, not even breaking apart from each other for breath. Lola arches her back as Klaus travels down her body leaving kisses against her skin as he does. He grabs both of her thighs and vamp speeds them upstairs to their bedroom, pushing her against the wall as she wraps her legs around his waist.
"I've missed you so much."
Lola whispers breathless, she gazes into Klaus' eyes as he climbs on top of her once more now in their bed. Lola softly traces her thumbs under Klaus' eyes as the veins underneath appear and his blue eyes turn into his golden hybrid eyes. She gasps at the feeling of Klaus' teeth piercing into the nook of her neck, the faint sting of his venom having the sensational feeling of pleasure through Lola's body. In less than a second, Lola flips the pair so now she is on top as her vampire features appear then piercing Klaus' neck in the same manner as she slowly lowers herself onto him in a teasing way making Klaus groan with impatience, now making himself on top once more as he presses their naked bodies together.
--------------------------------------------------
The next morning, Lola makes her way downstairs in desperate need of coffee but she is distracted at the faint sound of chains rattling. She fully opens the doors leading into the living room to see a tall muscular man chained up against a large block of wood, the man looks over to her annoyed as she raises a brow and tilts her head, "This is kinky, even for me."
"Who are you?" The man snaps at her.
"Who are you?" She mimics the mans harsh tone, she can then hear Klaus walking down the stairs so she walks into the foyer, "So feel free to tell me why we have some random guy strapped up like we are about to dissect him?"
Klaus smirks slightly then vamp speeds behind Lola, moving her hair to the side, exposing her neck. He wraps his arms around Lola's waist and kisses her against her neck, "Well I would have explained it all to you last night but we were a bit preoccupied. That's the vampire hunter with many secrets."
Lola turns around to face Klaus, "Okay so why is he in the living room?"
"I'll explain when I come back, but first, I need to try and get Rebekah to come back here." Klaus says as he walks towards the front door before turning around to look over to Lola, "Care to join?"
"Or you could tell me now."
Klaus sighs as he walks back towards Lola, "He's one of the five."
"The five?" Lola repeats, "As in the group of vampire hunters you crossed paths with over 900 years ago? I thought they were gone for good once you killed them?"
"So did I. However this chap appears to be the new generation of the five and we need answers. So as I was saying, I'm going to find Rebekah. Are you coming?"
"I'm gonna stay here."
"Very well." Klaus leaves quick kiss against Lola's lips before opening the front door, "I'll be back soon."
Lola walks into the kitchen to make her coffee but then having the sudden urge to make a margarita, preferably frozen. As she starts to add the mixture into the blender her phone rings, she answers it and puts it on speaker, "Finally! I've been trying to ring you for hours!"
"I'm sorry, the time difference isn't great so I've only just seen your calls." Adrianna speaks up from the other end of the call.
"Oh, that's right, you're in Thailand. So has Nate finally popped the question?" Lola teases but the momentary silence from Adrianna indicates she is right, "He totally has hasn't he?"
"No..." Adrianna lies, "But it is something so exciting that I want to tell my best friend face to face!"
"Okay then I'll make sure I act surprised when you do. And just make sure you tell me the date so I can keep it free from my never ending busy and drama filled life."
"Uh oh, what's happened?"
"Well you can stop blowing up Hayley's phone, she's here."
"Here as in she's in Mystic Falls?"
"Bingo, she's been here a couple of days already."
"Is she with you now?"
Lola scoffs, "No she's staying with her so called friend Tyler Lockwood who just happens to be one of Klaus' hybrids. I would suggest for her to move in with me and Klaus but that won't be such a good idea at the moment."
"What's going on, Lo?"
Lola takes the call off speaker as she quickly glances around the door to make sure no hybrids are listening, she then clicks the blender on, "She helped Tyler break the sire bond between him and Klaus."
"That can actually happen?"
"Apparently." Lola mumbles as she turns off the blender.
"Well how did she do it?"
"She won't tell me. I could really do with your help actually, Ade. Feel like making a trip to Mystic Falls?"
"I'll get there as soon as I can. I'll be on the first flight out of here."
"Uh-huh and you can tell me how Nate totally didn't propose." Lola remarks, smiling widely happy that her best friend is happy. But her smile soon leaves her face when she looks up to see Stefan standing in the hallway, "Uh, Ade, I'll call you back." Lola hangs up the phone and adds more ice into the blender, glaring over to her brother, "What do you want?"
"Where's the vampire hunter?"
Lola shrugs, "What vampire hunter?"
"You can stop playing dumb, I know Klaus has him and-" Stefan gets interrupted by the sound of the blender going off, he sighs as he looks over to Lola unamused as she flashes a smug smile at him, tapping her finger against the lid of the blender.
Lola turns the blender off and pours her drink into a glass when Stefan speaks up again, "And I need-" But he gets cut off once more as Lola switches the blender on again as she walks out of the kitchen.
Stefan turns the blender off and follows Lola into the other room, "What do you know about the five?"
"The five what?" Lola questions as she takes a seat and looks up at Stefan, "The five reasons you're gonna give me why you have the nerve to come into this house where you're not wanted and demand things? Go ahead."
Stefan rolls his eyes, "You seriously going to be like this?"
"Oh, I am seriously going to be like this. I'm not telling you anything."
"Guess I'll just figure it out on my own."
Stefan shrugs and starts to walk out of the room but Lola grabs him by his neck, pushing him against the wall, "Don't even think about it, Stefan." Stefan attempts to fight back but fails as Lola throws him down onto the floor and puts her foot against his throat. Stefan gasps for breath as he tries to push Lola's foot away making Lola laugh, "You're strong but you're not as strong as me. You can't win against me so don't even bother trying to fight."
"Okay fine, you win!" Stefan quickly admits defeat, Lola moves her foot from his throat making Stefan catch his breath, "I just want to know why Klaus saved this guy and why he saved Elena."
Klaus slides open the double doors from the room he was in along with Connor, the vampire hunter. He looks at the chaos that has erupted in amusement, "Looks like I'll have to beef up the hybrid security detail, can't just expect you to deal with the pests that crawl into our home, love."
Klaus and Lola step into the living room where Connor is chained up, Stefan following them, "I was gonna take him, but I figured you went through such trouble to truss him up in your red room of pain."
"It's from the Inquisition." Klaus says proudly, "I thought it was a nice touch."
"What'd you get out of him?"
"Not enough. He's mum about the Council fire and he's not saying anything about this greater evil we're all supposed to be shivering over." Klaus informs as he steps closer to Connor, he then looks over to Stefan, "What brings you snooping?"
"Well, I can't say it in front of him." Stefan says as he steps closer, "As I'm sure you've figured out, our friend here can't be compelled."
Klaus grins towards Connor, "You're full of mysteries, aren't you?"
Connor closes his eyes in annoyance, "I told you, I don't know anything."
"Thankfully, I know plenty." Klaus places his hand against Lola's lower back, guiding her to walk out of the room, "Shall we?" He gestures for Stefan to follow them.
Stefan stares at Connor for a few more seconds before following Klaus and Lola out of the room. Klaus shuts the doors to the room Connor is imprisoned in and turns to Stefan, "So, what's with the home invasion?"
"Damon said you knew something about this guy. Now, I should have figured out that you were up to something when you healed Elena from the werewolf poison without asking for anything in return."
Klaus shrugs, grinning in amusement, "I was feeling benevolent."
"You're never benevolent." Stefan retorts, "Who is this guy? What's the Five?"
"So many questions."
"It's a good thing I have nothing to do today, except get answers out of you." Stefan remarks as he sits down in a chair facing Klaus and Lola.
"Fine. You might actually be useful in persuading my sister to cooperate." Klaus steps further into the room as Lola takes a seat on the couch opposite Stefan. Klaus walks around the couch as he begins to explain the Five, "The brotherhood of the Five was a group of highly skilled vampire hunters. We crossed paths with them in the 12th century Italy." Klaus explains, he takes a seat beside Lola, "My siblings and I had followed the Normans as they conquered the South. Feeding, turning people as we went. But with the bloodshed came exposure. They'd find anyone they suspected to be a vampire and would expose them for the entire village to see and due to no one having daylight rings but my family, they'd burn under the sun for anyone to see as a threat to any other vampires roaming the village."
"So these hunters have been around for nine hundred years?" Stefan questions as he sits forward in his seat.
"Apparently. Though our friend in the other room is the first I've seen since then. Kind of makes you wonder what they've been up to all these years."
Stefan shifts his stare over to his sister, "Did you know about them?"
Lola nods as she looks over to Klaus then back to Stefan, "I know all the important parts of this story."
"And Rebekah had a thing with one of them?"
"Oh, she didn't just have a thing. She fell in love with him. He told her all his secrets. Which I will gladly share with you provided you do one thing for me."
"And what's that?"
"Get Rebekah over here." Klaus bluntly gets straight to the point, "She's being stubborn and hateful. I need to make peace with her." Klaus stands up from his seat, "I want her to give me some very important information about the hunter which she won't do, unless she believes we've made up."
Stefan also stands up from his seat, "And what's in it for me?"
"Just get her here and I'll tell you." Klaus walks around, leaning on the back rest of the couch where Lola is sitting, "Oh, and Stefan, trust me when I say this; that hunter in there holds the answer to all your prayers."
---------------------------------------------------
"You feeling alright, mate?" Klaus mocks as Connor groans trying to remove the chains, "Are the shackles too tight?"
Klaus' attention goes to the door when Lola smiles over to him, "Can I talk to you?" Klaus nods and follows Lola out of the room, closing the door behind them both, "So has he said anything?"
Klaus shakes his head, "Nothing useful."
"Are you sure he's actually part of the five? You said they have tattoos."
"Your lack of faith in me is rather insulting, love." Klaus teases as he sits down on the couch.
Lola smirks down at him, "Can't have your ego grow any larger than it already is."
Lola begins to walk away but Klaus takes hold of her hand and pulls her down to now straddle his lap. Lola cups Klaus' face as they both smash their lips onto each other, as if last night was just the start of it all. Klaus' grip on Lola's thighs becomes tighter as he slowly moves his hands further up Lola's legs until someone clearing their throat beside them which makes them break apart.
"And now I want to throw up." Stefan mumbles, looking away awkwardly as he and Rebekah enter the room.
Lola glares over to Stefan as she still straddles Klaus, "Don't you ever knock?"
Klaus grins towards Rebekah as Lola climbs off him and walks over to the dining room, "Welcome home, sister."
"So where is he?" Rebekah questions getting straight to the reason she's here. Klaus opens up the doors to where Connor is trapped and Rebekah looks over to him confused, "Is this a trick? How do you know he's one of the Five? Where's his bloody tattoo?"
"Oh, the tattoos aren't visible on this lot like they were on the last. Let's eat." Klaus walks out of the room. Rebekah and Stefan soon follow him into the dining room where Lola is standing by as a female servant places down plates of food on the table. Stefan sits across from Lola leaving Rebekah and Klaus to side on either side of the Salvatores.
"Thank you, my lovely." Klaus smiles over to the servant as she finishes up plating the food then walks away, "I could kiss the Council for burning up all the vervain in town. They made my life so much easier." Klaus leans forward in his seat, frowning at his sister, "Rebekah, love, eat your veggies."
Rebekah glares at him, "I'm not eating until you apologise."
"For which indiscretion? There have been so many."
"You would have broken my neck if Lola didn't get involved!" Rebekah begins to raise her voice.
"You threw away Elena's blood so I can't make any more hybrids."
"Because you took me for granted."
"That's what big brothers do, sweetheart!"
"Let me just name the million other people I'd rather be having dinner with right now." Stefan mumbles which brings Lola out of her daze she always goes in when the Mikaelsons fight.
Lola grins over to her brother as she starts to spin her fork around on the table, "I bet you're thinking, 'What, this is crazy. Having dinner with the enemy, a dinner my sister spent hours cooking...which smells really good.'" Lola teases then smirks over to him, "Something along those lines, right?"
Klaus places his hand on Lola's as he leans closer to her, "You didn't make any of this, love."
"I observed, that's plenty."
"I'm still waiting." Rebekah speaks up once more wanting her apology from Klaus.
Klaus leans back in his chair as he throws his hands up, "Alright, fine. I'm sorry. I often forget how delicate you are. Forgive me?"
"I'll take it under consideration."
"Okay, good." Stefan breaths out, relieved the bickering has came to a pause, "Now, why don't you tell me about Rebekah's hunter?"
"Right, Alexander." Klaus smirks to himself as he begins to reminisce, "Nice chap foregoing the obvious issues. He was looking for creatures of the night which is why we felt quite safe around him wearing our daylight rings. We'd invite him to meals, to gain his trust which is when we learnt of a weapon the Five had in their possession to destroy the vampire race entirely."
"So, that's what this is about?" Stefan glances between Klaus and Rebekah, "A weapon."
Rebekah scoffs, "Not just any weapon."
"Rebekah, love, don't get ahead of the story." Klaus orders his little sister, causing her to roll her eyes.
Stefan glances over to his sister who is grinning back at him indicating she already knows what the weapon is, "How is a weapon the answer to all my prayers?" Rebekah and Klaus both share a knowing glance but not responding, making Stefan scoff, "Okay. Why don't we just skip with the theatrics and get right to the point?"
"Not quite yet," Klaus says with a mischievous grin, "Because in order to find this weapon, we need to solve the puzzle. Which seems to have disappeared."
"What puzzle?"
Lola rolls her eyes at how slow her brother can be, "Think, Stefan. It may be hard sometimes but think about it."
"The tattoo." It finally hits Stefan as he looks over to Klaus, "What is it?"
"A map. Leading us to its treasure."
"Fat lot of good a tattoo's gonna do, if we can't see it." Rebekah pipes up.
"We can't, but someone else can." Klaus turns to the servant behind them, "Why don't you tell the hybrid to bring him in, love?" Klaus turns his attention back to everyone else, "You see, the hunter was so eager to get to the bottom of his mystery tattoos that he mentioned there was only one other person that can see them."
The hybrid, Nate, walks back in the room, with Jeremy in his grasp. Stefan vamp speeds over to the pair but Klaus rushes past him, standing between Stefan and Jeremy, "I wouldn't. Lucky for us, young Jeremy here, is a bit of an artist."
Jeremy glares at Klaus, "I'm not helping you with anything."
The hybrid grabs Jeremy's hand and takes his ring off. He tosses it to Klaus who catches it. He holds it up for Jeremy to see, with an evil grin on his face, "Oh, I'm afraid you are."
The hybrid takes Jeremy into the room where Connor is being held, where Jeremy is forced to begin sketching the hidden tattoo on Connor's body.
The tension builds up around the dining table until Stefan speaks up again wanting to know more, "So, tell me more about this tattoo."
"My sister's suitor was unwilling to tell us anything. Rebekah, however, was more than willing to investigate. Isn't that right?" Klaus glares over to Rebekah who hangs her head down in shame, "My sister's boyfriend threw a slumber party that night. He and his brothers put us all down in our sleep. Elijah, Kol, Finn, and me."
"How was I supposed to know?" Rebekah defends herself.
"Cheers." Klaus raises his wine glass as he begins to mock Rebekah, "To my sister's uncanny ability to choose men."
"I thought the daggers didn't work on you because of your werewolf side." Stefan interjects.
Klaus looks down at the table and smirks, "They don't. I awoke shortly after they daggered me, resulting in me killing each and every last one of them. Leaving Alexander to last by pinning him to the wall with his own sword. Then I would wait until my sister awoken too because she had a lot of explaining to do."
"Nik, I think that's enough."
Lola tries to reason with him but he ignores her attempt and continues to taunt Rebekah, "Go ahead, Rebekah. Tell him. Tell him what the hunter told you the tattoo leads to. What is this great weapon that could bring about the end of the vampire species?"
"A cure." Rebekah mumbles, "He said there was a cure."
Stefan looks over to Lola as his eyes widen in shock, mouth agape trying to compute everything he has just been informed of. Klaus stands up his seat, prompting Stefan to do the same and follow him, "There is no cure for vampirism."
Rebekah then stands up from her seat and follows them both, "He's telling the truth, Stefan."
"Then why wouldn't you have searched for it, found it?"
Klaus has his back to everyone while he pours himself a drink, "Because when the hunters drew their final breath that night, the marks disappeared from their body, the map was gone, the brotherhood of the Five extinct. For nine hundred years, there was not a whisper of another hunter, until our friend in there showed up in town."
Lola stands beside Rebekah as Rebekah speaks up again, "Well, now we have the map, what do we do next?"
Klaus looks over to his sister, amused, "We don't do anything. You can't be trusted, little sister. You'll be blabbing this secret to the first boy who calls you pretty. I mean, it's pathetic, really, isn't it? How she continues to hand her heart to any man who shows her a hint of affection. You'd think she would have learned by now from the endless cycle of disappointment and deception.
"But, I haven't!" Rebekah snaps back, "Instead I stayed with you and let you leech every moment of happiness from my life! You know, at least I fared better then Finn." She glances over to Stefan then back at her brother, "Klaus left him daggered because he was tired of his judgment."
"No, Finn was a dullard." Klaus interjects as he steps closer to Rebekah and Lola, "He was more interesting lying in a box."
Rebekah shakes her head in disbelief towards Klaus as reality sets in, "You want the cure for Elena, don't you? So you can go back to mass producing your hybrids. That's why you brought Stefan here, because you knew that he'd help you even though he hates your guts! You know what? You can shove your cure."
Rebekah storms out of the house, Lola glares over to Klaus who has a smirk plastered on his face, "Well done." Lola rushes after her, "Rebekah, wait!"
Rebekah is already half way down the road when Lola catches up, "Rebekah!"
"Go away, Lola!" Rebekah shouts as she continues to storm off, "Just stay away from me!"
"Don't be like this, please!" Lola says cautiously as she speeds in front of Rebekah, "Nik is-"
"Nik is what?" Rebekah interrupts her, "Are you seriously going to defend him like you always do?"
Lola frowns as she shakes her head, "No. I was going to say he is an asshole for what he said to you back there."
"And yet you will still go back to that house and continue living as a fake happy couple even though the only thing that comes out of his mouth is pure poison!"
"There's nothing about us that's fake."
"He doesn't love you, wake up!" Rebekah shouts with hatred filling her words, "That bastard doesn't even know the meaning of the word. You may think he loves you but you're wrong, he is just using you to get to your brothers. One of these days he's going to leave you in the dirt and never look back just like he did in the twenties."
Lola steps closer to Rebekah as she begins to raise her voice, "That was a completely different situation, Rebekah!"
"Him leaving you that night was the best thing he could have done for you and yet you were stupid enough to run back into his arms the first chance you got!" Rebekah laughs spitefully, "You call me pathetic but you're the pathetic one, Lola. You follow a man around who would drop you in a heartbeat. But I guess you're used to that, aren't you? Your own brothers don't even love you and drop you whenever they feel like it and you're stupid enough to keep going back to them."
Lola scoffs as she crosses her arms against her chest, "What just like you do with your own brother?"
Rebekah wipes away a stray tear running down her cheek, "Not anymore." She steps closer to Lola, glaring at her, "And if you have any sense you won't be that stupid again either." Rebekah steps back, throwing her hands in the air, "Look around you, who have you got when you take away your brothers who always stab you in the back and a man who doesn't love you because he doesn't even understand what it means to love someone? No one."
Rebekah continues to storm off leaving Lola standing in the middle of the road in shock at all the hatred Rebekah has just unleashed.
----------------------------------------------------
Lola slowly makes her way back to the mansion, when she arrives back she goes straight down to the wine cellar and picking out the oldest red wine Klaus has, "Lucy!" She shouts out for the servant who swiftly appears, "I need your blood."
Klaus appears in the wine cellar to see Lola dangling the girl's wrist above her glass of wine. He frowns over to Lola, "Are you okay?"
"That's enough, go bandage that up." Lola compels the servant who leaves promptly. Lola flashes a smile over to Klaus as she swirls the drink around in the glass, "I'm fine, I just need a drink."
Klaus raises a brow at the concoction Lola always makes when something has happened, "Clearly you're not okay. Talk to me."
"It's nothing." Lola waves him off, almost casually until she raises her glass slightly and purses her lips, "Rebekah and I just got into yet another argument. I feel like that's all we do lately."
"What did she say to you?"
Lola looks up at the ceiling, about to list out everything Rebekah said, "That you don't love me, you never have loved me and that you're just using me to get to my brothers. Oh and my brothers don't love me and basically I don't have anyone."
Klaus looks over to Lola, trying to hide his anger towards his sister. He pushes some of Lola's hair back away from her face, "She's wrong."
"Is she?" Lola questions, mainly to herself. Klaus shifts in his spot, Lola picking up on it straight away, "Not about you, but everything else. Say I die tomorrow, I mean would my brothers even care?" She shrugs as she mumbles into her drink, "Probably not."
Klaus places a hand against Lola's cheek, making her look him in the eye as he takes her wine glass out of her hand, "If they don't then they are even bigger fools than I already know they are. You already know this but I love you and I will always love you."
Lola smiles at him, leaving a soft peck against his lips, "I love you too." She kisses him again, more passionately as she wraps her arm around his neck, while her other snakes down his back. Until she pulls away raising a brow at Klaus grabbing a dagger out of his back pocket, "Do you just carry these around with you all the time?"
"Love..."
"I know what you're gonna say." Lola interrupts, knowing his plan is to dagger Rebekah so she doesn't tell anyone about the possibility of finding the cure, "Rebekah could do with a couple days of confinement. I'm going to check on Jeremy."
Lola walks back up towards the room where Jeremy is still sketching Connor's tattoo. When she enters she's greeted straight away with a glare from Connor which she returns a smug smile. She looks down at Jeremy art work, "That's what the tattoo looks like?" Jeremy nods, making Lola scoff, "No wonder it's invisible."
"Do not engage with her." Connor warns Jeremy.
Lola laughs as she steps around Jeremy, walking towards Connor, "Someone is feeling a bit grouchy, not used to being tied up, huh? Must really suck you're that close to a vampire and you can't do anything." She laughs again, "Huh, I just said suck and vampire in the same sentence, that was funny. But he's right Jeremy." Lola says but keeping her glare on Connor, before turning to face Jeremy, "You should never engage with a vampire, you never know what they might do." She claps her hands together as she sits in the chair opposite Jeremy, leaning forward, "For instance, I could go straight for your carotid artery right now and feed on you while I listen to your heartbeat slow down minute by minute and just before your heartbeat completely stops, I'll heal you. Then I'd feed on you again, and again until you either beg for me to stop and just let you die or until I get bored of your screams and just rip your head off." Lola smirks over to a terrified Jeremy, showing her vampire features for a brief moment.
Jeremy shifts uncomfortably in his seat, "What?"
Lola burst out laughing, she looks down at the floor as she continues to laugh but when she looks up and sees Jeremy still looks terrified, she rolls her eyes, "Relax, it's just a joke. I'm not going to hurt you."
"You really are terrifying."
Lola places her hand against her chest dramatically, "Thank you."
"You expect us to believe you that you're not gonna hurt the kid?" Connor injects behind Lola.
Lola fixates her stare on Jeremy with a hint of a smile, "Jeremy believes me, don't you?"
Jeremy glances between Lola and Connor, "Lola won't hurt me, she could hurt me but she won't."
Lola nods, "Exactly. But in all honesty, if I wanted to kill you-"
"You'd already have done it by now, I know." Jeremy finishes off her sentence.
Lola points towards the door, "As soon as you walked through that door. And you." She stands up from her seat, walks around it to face Connor, "You're just a bully."
Connor scoffs, "I'm the bully?"
"Yes you are. Putting all these stories in Jeremy's head that he could become like you, who would want to be like you?" She glares at him as she leans closer to him, "You're pathetic."
Connor leans forward as much as he can't, which isn't much due to the chains, "At least I'm not a filthy blood sucker."
"Oh but it is so much fun to be one." Lola mocks, she turns around and picks up a book from the side, flicking through the pages, "You know my mother once told me how to deal with bullies."
"Oh yeah, what she tell you?"
Lola looks at Connor with a wicked grin, then hits the book across Connor's face with force making him fall to the side but the chains pull him back up straight away. Happy with herself, she throws the book back on the table and walks out of the room, "Enjoy your sketching."
A/N: I didn't expect to write this chapter so quick, but think it's mainly because I'm so excited to write the next one!! ALSO, KLAUS WILL NOT GET HAYLEY PREGNANT!!! I PROMISE YOU <3
I may not get the next chapter out as quick as I did with this one just because I want to publish chapter 49 at the same time as chapter 50. But I promise I'll do it as quickly as I can!
