The Sacrifice

LOLA POV:

I barely got any sleep last night. The memories of 1958 haunted my mind, the look on Klaus' face when I left, the worry about Damon - and Mikael, the monster. Just thinking about his name sends shivers down my spine.

I couldn't tell Damon the other part of the story I told him last night, the part where it was Mikael who told me where Damon was, the part where Mikael forced me to leave Klaus and the part where Mikael almost killed me.

I get pulled out of my daze when there is a knock at my door. Damon walks in with a cup of coffee and a sympathetic smile.

"Morning." Damon practically whispers, probably scared if he raises his voice any higher I'll break.

I sit up properly in bed and smile at him as he walks over and takes a seat on the side of my bed.

"Thank you." I say as I grab the coffee from him.

Damon looks at me with a concerned face, "How are you?"

I can't help but smile at Damon, I shrug my shoulders, "Damon, I'm fine. I'm not going to break. I only told you about my past, it's not like I got into a fight."

Damon laughs, "I know, but I could tell that was hard for you and Lo, honestly, I am so sorry for my part in it all." Damon bows his head in shame refusing to look at me.

I look over to Damon and frown, I place my cup on my side table and grab Damon's hands, "Hey." I say softly, he looks up at me, "Don't you ever apologise, do you hear me? You were tortured for 5 years! I just wish I found you earlier than I did."

Just as Damon is about to respond, Stefan walks into the room.

"Jesus since when was my bedroom the new living room?" I scoff.

Stefan laughs, "Good morning to you too, Lola." Stefan picks up on the mood between Damon & I and looks confused, "What's going on?"

I smile innocently at Damon, "We were just catching up." I then turn to look at Stefan with the same smile on my face, "Things you need to hear too."

Damon looks at me in shock, thinking I was going to tell Stefan about Augustine, I give Damon a look to reassure him that's not what I'm going to talk about.

Stefan makes his way over and sits on my bed opposite Damon, "What?"

I sigh preparing myself to explain it all again, "I spoke to Damon last night, about my relationship with Klaus."

Stefan looks over to Damon with a frown, Damon gives Stefan a nod to say it's fine.

"As I said before the whole argument started yesterday morning, Klaus is my ex. I met him in 1887 and was with him up until the 20s. He broke my heart. Decades later, we found each other again, he apologised and we started seeing each other again. But towards the end of the 50s, it was my turn to break his heart." I say looking down at my lap, digging my nail into my skin.

Damon grabs my hands to say it was okay. I look up to Stefan who was trying to compute everything I just said.

"Wait, why did you leave him?" Stefan asks.

I look up to Damon, Damon takes this as his signal to pipe up, "It was because of me."

Damon smiles at me then looks over to Stefan and continues, "I needed Lola. I was in a dark place and all I needed was my family, and with you and I not being on great speaking terms, I went to find Lola."

Stefan still looks as confused as ever, "I don't understand. So, you left this Klaus guy because of your brother? Why did that mean you had to leave him?"

I sigh, "It's complicated. Look, I told you about the fight Damon & I had back in 1919 didn't I?"

Stefan glares over to Damon, "The fight where he almost killed you, yeah I do."

Damon raises his hands in surrender, "Our sister forgave me so I'm sure you could as well, brother."

I roll my eyes at Damon's cocky attitude, "Right well after that, I went running to Klaus who I was still with, and let's just say Klaus was really pissed, still pissed even when we found each other again in the 50s. He was always so protective over me, so I knew if I told him that I was going to see Damon he wouldn't have let me and I just felt trapped. I loved him but he was just too protective, he kept me wrapped in cotton wool during the 50s and I was sick of it."

"So, why are you running from Klaus?" Stefan asks, I know he isn't buying my story but I can't mention Augustine and I definitely cannot mention Mikael.

I run my hands through my hair, "Because that man sure can hold a grudge. The things I said to him, I know they hurt him. He basically threatened me and said if I left him he wouldn't stop until he found me again. When Klaus threatens someone like that, it means he's going to stop at nothing until they're dead."

Stefan sighs as he takes in everything I have just explained, he stands up and walks towards the window looking out of it and then he turns to face me again, "What happened when you met up with him the other week? Did he hurt you?"

I laugh, "No, he never got the chance. I stabbed him with a fork and ran."

I finally get out of bed and before I could do anything else, Stefan comes up to me and hugs me, "I'm sorry."

I pull away from the hug and look up at him confused, "What are you sorry for?"

Stefan sighs and places his hands on my arms, "I'm sorry this was forced out of you. You weren't ready to tell us, yet we pretty much forced it out of you."

I smile up at Stefan and over to Damon who is still sat on my bed, "I shouldn't have kept it all hush hush, I should have just told you both."

No one says anything, I can't bare all this soppy sibling stuff for much longer, I clap my hands together, "Okay, so what is team Salvatore doing today?"

Damon stands up, "We're going to go and get the moonstone from Katherine."

I look over to him with a raised eyebrow, "We are?"

"Yup" Damon responds popping the P, "And we are going to destroy it." Damon says as he smirks.

"I've spoken to Bonnie," Stefan pipes up, "She's going to help us, so we need to go and get the stone from Katherine and see what we can do to make sure this curse doesn't lift."

"Okay great, I'll get dressed and meet you downstairs." I say as I walk into my bathroom.

Both of my brothers walk out and I take a quick shower and get dressed into black jeans and a navy top. Once ready I make my way downstairs to meet my brothers and we make our way to the tomb to see Katherine.

LOLA POV:

Damon and Stefan I make our way to go and speak to Katherine and get the moonstone off her. We walk down the steps leading into the tomb, I lean against the wall opposite the tomb door and watch Damon and Stefan open the door.

Damon looks over to me with a raised eyebrow, "Aren't you going to help?"

I smile over to him, "Nope."

Damon rolls his eyes, he looks over to Stefan, "Let's do this, 1,2,3."

Damon and Stefan grab either side of the door and move it and place it to the side and approach the entrance. Katherine walks towards the entrance dragging her feet across the floor looking just as pale as she was when I came to see her yesterday.

Katherine smirks at the sight of my brothers and doesn't yet realise I'm here. When she looks over Stefan's shoulder she can see me and her smirk disappears, this makes me scoff and smile over to her waving my hand at her.

"Please...come on in. There's plenty of room for all of us." Katherine says gesturing for us to walk into the tomb, yeah right.

I scoff, "I'd rather poke my eyes out."

Katherine glares over to me, "Mmm, they're such pretty eyes. One of the first things Klaus fell in love with I heard."

I can't help but laugh at her pathetic excuse to try and get me into shit with my brothers, "Save it, Kat. They both know everything."

Katherine raises her eyebrow at me, not believing me, "Really?"

I flash a smug smile over to Katherine, "Really."

"We're here for the moonstone." Stefan says changing the subject.

Damon smirks, "Feel like tossing it over?"

"Tell you what, you get your little witch to hocus pocus me out of here, you can have whatever you want." Katherine says.

"I thought you liked it in here. Nice and safe where Klaus can't get to you." Stefan says while looking around the tomb.

Katherine smiles sarcastically over to us all, "I've had time to reconsider."

Damon rolls his eyes, "Meaning you're hungry."

"I'm starving, Damon. And dirty. But above all, I'm bored." Katherine says as she slowly makes her way closer to the entrance of the tomb.

Katherine glares over to me, "At least running from Klaus wasn't boring" Katherine then looks at both of my brothers, "So here's the deal: you get me out of here, you get the moonstone and I'll disappear from Mystic Falls forever."

I make my way over to stand between Damon and Stefan and we all share a look with each other, Katherine smirks while holding up the moonstone and begins to walk away.

"Let me know what you decide." Katherine says turning her back on us and walking back into the darkness.

Stefan looks over to me and Damon and we both shake our heads at the same time. We make our way out of the tomb and head over to Elena's.

We make our way to Elena's house and walk towards the front door. I take a deep breath and compose myself to get ready to deal with the doppelgänger as Stefan knocks on the door.

Elena opens the door and glances between all three of us.

"Hey. Uh, can we talk?" Stefan asks.

"Why?" Elena asks starting to look worried.

"We went to see Katherine." Damon says smirking.

Elena glances to the floor and then back up at us and opens the door wider, "Come on in."

Elena steps aside and we all walk in and walk towards the kitchen. Stefan and Damon begin to explain what Katherine says when we went to see her.

"You don't believe her, do you?" Elena asks while frowning at us.

"No, of course not. We just want the moonstone." Damon says as he is throwing around an apple.

I grab the apple out of Damon's hand and take a bite out of it, smugly smiling up at my big brother which causes him to just roll his eyes.

"According to Rose's friend Slater, there's a way to destroy the spell that Klaus wants to break." I say in between taking bites out of the apple.

"No spell, no doppelgänger sacrifice. Ergo, you live." Damon says looking over to Elena, he looks over to me eating the apple and glares, "That's really annoying you know?"

I look over to Damon pretending to be shocked, "What this?" I say as I gesture to the apple in my hands, I pretend to think for a second and shrug my shoulders and take another bite out of it and then give Damon a cocky smile.

"How do you destroy it?" Elena asks Stefan with her arms crossed against her chest.

"By releasing it from the moonstone." Stefan replies leaning against the worktop in the kitchen.

It's obvious Elena isn't convinced, "How do you guys even know this is gonna work?"

"Cause we have a crafty witch on our side." Damon points out.

Elena looks down at the floor and sighs, "You discussed it with Bonnie."

"She agreed to do anything she could to help us." Stefan says.

Elena shakes her head, "It's Katherine who has the moonstone. She's not gonna give it to you."

I'm trying so hard to keep my cool, we are trying to help her, she could be a bit more grateful, "We're gonna get it from her." I say.

"Well, what my dear baby sis means to say is, we will pry it from her cold, dead hand if we have to." Damon says glancing between me and Elena smirking.

I throw the rest of the apple in the bin and cross my arms against my chest, "Bonnie just needs to find a way to release the seal long enough for us to get in, get the moonstone, and get out in time for her to return it."

Elena takes a seat at the island in the kitchen, "Wow. I mean, it sounds like you guys already have it all planned out."

Damon smirks, "Yep. We're awesome."

"Except for one thing. I don't want you to do it." Elena says acting as though she's the boss all of a sudden.

Ugh, I cannot believe her. I uncross my arms and put my hands through my hair while glancing up to the ceiling trying to stay calm and not kick her.

"What are you talking about? Elena, we don't have a choice." Stefan says.

Elena looks over to me, "What about Klaus?"

I frown over at her, why the hell was she looking at me when she said that? "What you think I'm a spy as well now?" I say through gritted teeth. Damon places his hand on my shoulder to try and calm me down.

Elena looks at me shocked, "No! No I don't think that at all. It's just, he's not just after me, he's after you."

Stefan sighs while looking over to me and then looks back over to Elena, "We'll find him right after we get the moonstone."

Elena frowns, "Is that before or after he kills everyone that I care about, including the three of you."

Damon and I both share a confused look, since when did she care about us two?

"Elena, if we can de-spell the moonstone, we can save your life." Stefan says trying to reason with her.

Elena sighs, "I know. Everybody keeps saying that."

She gets up and leaves the room, my god it's like when you take a piece of candy away from a toddler. We hear her walk out the front door, I have an idea where she is going to be going.

I look at both my brothers, "You both go and get Bonnie and get back to the house. I'll meet you there."

3RD PERSON POV:

Elena opens the front door to the Salvatore Boarding House and walks in. She shuts the door behind her and looks around the hallway. Rose comes down the stairs, tying a silk robe around her.

"It's not nice to leave a girl naked so early in the morning." Rose says as she walks towards the door tying her robe. She looks up and sees that it's Elena and not Damon standing in the hallway.

"Whoa. Sorry, I thought you were..." Rose says awkwardly laughing.

Elena looks away from Rose embarrassed, "I, uh, sorry, I..."

"There's no one else here." Rose says as she walks up to Elena.

Elena looks over to Rose, "Actually, I came to talk to you."

Rose smiles, "Then I should probably get dressed."

Lola walks into the house as Rose speaks, she looks at Elena and smirks, she knew she would come here. Lola then looks over to Rose disgusted.

"Yes you should. Also you can keep my robe."

Rose smiles broadly and walks back up the stairs to get changed into some actual clothing.

Lola watches as Rose walks out of eye sight and then turns to face Elena and smirks, "I knew you would come here."

Elena looks at Lola scared, "Look I never thought you were spying for Klaus."

Lola laughs at how scared the doppelgänger gets when she is near her, "Relax Elena, it's fine."

Lola walks into the library and grabs a glass and pours herself a bourbon. Elena follows her into the library.

"So I'm guessing you and your brothers made up after the way they spoke to you yesterday?" Elena asks as Lola's back is to her while she is pouring a drink.

Lola laughs and turns to face Elena, "You could say that. I told them about Klaus & I."

Elena awkwardly smiles at Lola and nods her head. It's obvious to Lola that Elena wants to know what happened, that girl is too nosey for her own good.

Lola rolls her eyes, "I told them what I told you. I was in love with him, but then I had to leave him in the 50s and he was pissed. Ever since I've been hiding from him because when you betray a guy like Klaus, he wants your blood."

Elena looks over to Lola confused, "Why did you leave him?"

Lola takes a sip of her drinks and looks over to Elena, "Because of Damon. He needed me."

Elena takes a few steps towards Lola, "What happened?"

Lola scoffs, "That's not my story to tell. Look all you need to know is I left Klaus all alone and now he hates me and wants revenge. Something happened between Damon and I in 1919, he almost killed me."

Elena gasps and looks in shock and interrupts Lola, "What?"

Lola shrugs her shoulders, "I'm over it. But I was with Klaus when it happened and he was pissed at Damon. They've never met, I always made sure that didn't happen because darling Klaus holds grudges, so when I heard Damon needed me I didn't want to tell Klaus because I knew he would try and stop me because of my history with my idiotic brother."

Elena looks over to Lola with a sympathetic look, "So you left the love of your life for you brother?"

Lola drinks the rest of her drink and places it on the table. She walks up to Elena, "Well you do stupid things for family. You understand that right?" Lola looks Elena up and down and gives her half a smile and starts to walk out the room.

Elena turns around, "Wait!" She shouts over to Lola.

Lola stops and turns her head to face Elena and raises her eyebrow.

"Thank you." Elena says softly.

Lola fully turns around and crosses her arms against her chest, "For what?"

"For helping us. This obviously isn't easy given your history with the originals, so thank you." Elena says and smiles over to Lola.

"Yeah well, that was all from a different life time." Lola says not showing any emotion on her face and then walks out of the room.

Lola makes her way to the basement to grab a blood bag when she bumps into Rose.

"Hey." Rose says smiling at Lola.

Lola smiles, she grabs a piece of paper out of her pocket and hands it to Rose, Rose looks at Lola confused.

Lola gestures to the room she just left Elena in, "She is up to something and is obviously going to involve you. If you need me, ring me."

Rose nods and smiles and they part ways, Lola going to get a blood bag and Rose goes to speak to Elena.

By the time Lola finished her blood bag and came back upstairs, Elena and Rose where gone. Gone where? Who knows. When Lola walks back into the library, Stefan, Damon, Bonnie and little Gilbert are there.

They all turn to face Lola, Damon walks over to her.

"Hey. Where did you go?" Damon asks smiling at his sister.

"I needed a drink." Lola says smiling back at Damon, she looks at everyone else, "What's going on?"

Bonnie smiles at Lola as Lola walks over to the group, "I might be able to lower the tomb spell long enough for you to get in there and grab the moonstone from Katherine."

"How? It took both you and your Grams last time, and look what happened to her." Jeremy adds.

Bonnie glares at Jeremy, "I'm well aware of what happened. I've learned a few new things."

"Bonnie..." Jeremy says softly.

Bonnie ignores Jeremy and looks over to Stefan, "How will you get it?"

"She hasn't been feeding. She's weaker. We're not." Stefan says.

Damon raises a glass of blood towards Bonnie smirking. Lola takes the glass from Damon and takes a sip of it and passes it back to him.

"You wouldn't be underestimating her, would you?" Bonnie asks.

"It's a plan. Is it perfect? Pfttt, what plan is?" Damon scoffs.

"Let me do it. I've got my ring. I can get in, get out, no spells necessary." Jeremy says waving his ring around.

Lola rolls her eyes, "Gee, thanks, you 16-year-old child. Why didn't we think about that? Why are you even here?" Lola says in a sarcastic tone, Jeremy glares over to her.

"Maybe I can help better the plan. Do you have anything that belongs to Katherine?" Bonnie asks the Salvatores.

Damon and Lola both give each other a look and then turn to face Stefan who is looking over at his siblings with the same look. Stefan leaves the room to go and get the photograph he still has of Katherine which was taken in 1864.

"This belonged to Katherine. Found it with her things after I thought she was dead, but it was hers." Stefan says while looking down at the photograph.

Stefan holds out the photograph of Katherine and Bonnie takes it. Bonnie places the photograph in a bowl. She drips her finger in a glass of water and lets the water droplets drip from her fingertips into the bowl. Flames sprout from the bowl, Bonnie shuts her eyes and begins to chant a spell in Latin.

Damon frowns as he watches Bonnie, "What will this do?"

Bonnie opens her eyes and watches the photograph burn, "I can turn the metal into ash. Blow the ashes on her, and it'll incapacitate her for a minute or two. Long enough for you to get the stone and get out."

Lola, Stefan and Damon are watching the photograph burn. Suddenly, Bonnie's nose starts to bleed, Bonnie quickly wipes it away before anyone notices.

Bonnie pours the ashes from the bowl onto an end table. Stefan and Damon re-enter the room with supplies for the excursion. Lola walks in shortly after them and throws over a bag to Damon.

"Still gotta get the torches." Stefan says as he walks back into the room.

"Alaric's stake gun's in my trunk." Damon says as he puts the supplies in the bag.

"Bonnie?" Lola sings out to get Bonnie's attention.

"Go ahead. I'm almost done." Bonnie says as she is sorting out the ash.

Stefan leaves the room and Lola follows. Damon packs a few more things in a bag and follows his siblings out of the room. Damon tries to trip Lola up as she is walking.

"Hey! Asshole!" Lola glares at Damon who is laughing at how easy it is to wind his sister up.

Jeremy watches the siblings walk out and waits until they're gone so he can speak to Bonnie alone.

"What are you doing?" Jeremy whispers.

"Shh!"

"Hey, you're not strong enough!" Jeremy says.

Bonnie gestures Jeremy to be quiet and places her finger onto his lips to stop him from talking. When he doesn't try to speak again, she lowers her finger.

"I'll be fine." Bonnie says softly.

"You could get hurt." Jeremy says starting to get concerned.

"And Elena could die. I'll be fine. Promise. I promise." Bonnie says calmly to Jeremy.

Jeremy isn't convinced but nods in agreement anyway, "Here, I got this okay? Go get me, um, go get me something to put this in. All right?"

Bonnie and Jeremy smile at each other and Bonnie leaves to get a container for the ashes. Jeremy glances over his shoulder before pulling out his wallet and taking out a card. Jeremy uses the card to carefully scrap a handful of ashes into his wallet without Bonnie noticing.

Lola, Damon and Stefan are all sat waiting at the church ruins by the entrance to the tomb waiting for Bonnie.

"Hm, how about eye spy?" Lola says as she stands up and claps her hands together.

"Shut up, Lola. We are not playing dumb games." Damon scoffs.

Lola rolls her eyes, "Kill joy."

Bonnie approaches them.

"Sorry I'm late. I had to grab the grimoire from home." Bonnie says as she walks towards them holding out her grimoire.

Lola laughs, "Jeremy couldn't take the pressure, huh?"

"He said he'd be here." Bonnie says as she looks around the woods.

Stefan and Bonnie start to descent the stairs to the tomb, Damon and Lola follow but Lola stops abruptly when her cell phone starts to ring. She looks at the caller ID, the number isn't saved but can only guess it's Rose. She puts her arm out to signal Damon to stop walking.

"Not a good time, Rose." Lola says as she sighs.

"Don't be angry with me."

Lola looks to Damon who is frowning at her, "Why, what did you do?" She asks Rose.

"You need to get to Richmond immediately."

Damon nods at Lola and the pair start to walk towards Damon's car.

"Tell me." Lola says as they walk away from the tomb.

"Why didn't you tell us that Elena was planning something like this?" Damon asks as he starts the car and begins to drive off.

Lola scoffs, "It's Elena. I haven't known her for very long but it seems as though it is pretty much impossible to tell her not to do something. Also, I didn't know what she was exactly planning to do, I could just tell by her face she was planning something so I gave Rose my number and told her to call me if anything happened."

Damon sighs, he looks over to Lola who is looking out the passenger window and he smiles.

"How you doing?" Damon asks concerned.

Lola looks over to Damon and smiles, "You gotta stop asking me that. I'm fine, D."

Damon can tell his sister is not fine, her face says it all.

"Lo, it's been over 150 years and I can still tell when you're hiding your true feelings. You really love him don't you?" Damon asks softly.

"Loved. Past tense. That was a different life time ago, I've moved on." Lola says as she shrugs her shoulders and looks out of the window refusing to give her brother eye contact.

Damon sighs and focuses on the road and make their way to Richmond.

In Richmond, Elena and Rose are in Slater's flat. Elena walks into the main room, sipping on a glass of water. She looks over at Alice who is looking out of the windows watching out for Cody.

Elena turns around and gasps at the sight of Damon behind her, "What are you doing here?"

"What are you doing here?" Damon asks Elena.

Rose enters the room, Elena turns around and glares at her, "You called him?!"

Lola walks into the apartment and walks towards Damon and Elena, "No. She called me. Damon is my little tag along."

Lola smiles up to her brother and pats him on the arm, Damon rolls his eyes at Lola's comment.

"I'm sorry, Elena." Rose says as she walks towards Elena, Damon and Lola.

"You said that you understood." Elena looks at Rose feeling betrayed.

"Yeah well, she lied." Lola says shrugging her shoulders.

Elena turns around and looks at Damon and Lola. Alice walks up to them and is starstruck seeing Damon and Lola.

"Damon Salvatore!" Alice shouts, she looks over to Lola, "No way, the Lola Salvatore?!"

Lola pulls a disgusted face towards the pathetic human and scoffs, "Get rid of her." Lola says to Rose.

"No...Way!" Alice says as Rose grabs her arm and leads her out of the room.

Damon gestures to the front door and looks at Elena, "Come on. We're leaving."

Elena shakes her head, "No."

Damon glares at Elena, "I said we're leaving."

"I'm not going with you." Elena sternly says.

"You do not get to make decisions anymore." Damon says starting to raise his voice slightly.

Elena shakes her head, "When have I ever made a decision? You and Stefan do that for me." Elena looks over to Lola and scoffs, "Even Lola who doesn't even like me! Now this, this is my decision."

"Who's gonna save your life while you're out making decisions?" Damon asks Elena.

"You're not listening to me, Damon. I don't want to be saved. Not if it means that Klaus is gonna kill every single person that I love." Elena says.

Damon frowns, "Get your ass out the door before I throw you over my shoulder and carry you out myself."

Damon grasps Elena's arm tightly. Elena struggles and releases herself from his grip, "No!"

Elena throws a punch at Damon. Damon clutches her fist in his hand and moves in towards her. Elena gasps in shock.

"Don't ever do that again." Damon says glaring at Elena. He releases her first from his grasp and walks away. Elena is standing there looking horrified. She looks over to Lola who is shaking her head at the doppelgänger and follows Damon.

Lola, Rose and Elena are all sat in the living room while Damon is in the bedroom compelling Alice to forget about everything that has happened today.

Damon opens a set of double doors and exits the bedroom, "Time to go. Alice is soundly sleeping and won't remember a moment of this horribly stupid day."

Suddenly, the front doors burst open and three men walk into the apartment. Damon turns his head to look at them as Rose, Lola and Elena stand up.

"We're here to meet the doppelgänger." One of the men, Cody says.

"Thank you for coming." Elena says, she tries to walk past Lola and towards the three men but Lola pushes Elena back and blocks her from walking towards them.

"I will break your arm." Lola whispers to Elena through gritted teeth.

Lola looks over to to the three men, "There's nothing here for you."

"Lola Salvatore?" Cody asks as he approaches them.

The man in the back suddenly drops to the floor, dead. Elijah stands behind him. The other two vampires look back at Elijah. Elijah vamp-speeds towards them, looking from one to the other. Rose gasps and vamp-speeds out of the apartment. Elijah looks over at Elena, Lola and Damon.

Elijah smiles at Lola, "Hello, Charlotte."

Damon protectively stands in front of his sister, gripping her arm and looks over to Elijah surprised, "I killed you. You were dead."

Elijah smirks, "For centuries now."

Elijah looks back at the men, "Who are you?"

Cody replies with an attitude, "Who are you?"

"I'm Elijah."

Cody looks at him in shock, "We were gonna bring her to you. For Klaus. She's the doppelgänger. I don't know how she exists, but she does. Klaus will want to see her. That's Lola Salvatore, he's gonna wanna know she's here too."

Damon's grip gets tighter on his sister's arm, they'll have to get through him first before taking his sister.

Elijah is looking over to the group but locking eyes with Lola, "Does anyone else know that you're here?" He asks the man while still looking at Lola.

"No." Cody says.

Elijah then looks over to the men and smiles, "Well, then, you have been incredibly helpful."

Elijah plunges his arm's into the two vampires' chests. They grunt as Elijah rips their hearts out. The two vampires fall to the floor, dead, and Elijah lets their hearts drop from his hands.

Lola rolls her eyes, "So dramatic, Elijah."

Elijah smirks at the group and then vamp speeds out of the apartment. Damon relaxes once Elijah is gone and looks over to Lola who nods indicating she is okay. He then looks over to Elena who is shaking in fear.

They all get back into Damon's car and make their way to Mystic Falls.

They all arrive back in Mystic Falls, Damon pulls up outside of Elena's home. Lola decides to wait in the car. She can hear Damon and Elena talking but doesn't really pay attention because she doesn't have the energy for it.

She starts to pay attention once Jeremy walks out and says that Stefan is stuck in the tomb with Katherine.

They all speed to the tomb. Once they get there Elena bolts down the stairs, she rushes towards the cave and looks in but cannot see anyone.

"Stefan! Stefan!" Elena cries out.

Elena is about to enter the cave when Damon comes up from behind her, grabs her, and pins her against the wall.

"Don't you dare." Damon says through gritted teeth.

"Stefan's in there, Damon! How could you let this happen?" Elena shouts.

"What are you talking about? I was too busy saving you from your crazy kamikaze mission." Damon argues back.

"You didn't even have to go after the moonstone in the first place!" Elena spits out.

Lola walks down the steps into the tomb, "It was the right call, Elena."

Elena glares over to Lola, "The right call?! How was any of this the right call?!"

Elena hits Damon's chest with her fists to try and get out of his grasp.

"Damon, let go of me! Damon, let go of me! Let go of me! Let go of me!" Elena cries out.

Elena repeatedly beats her fist into Damon's chest, who keeps a calm face and restrains her. Elena becomes tired and desperately looks up at Damon.

"Please." Elena begs with tears in her eyes.

"Are you done?" Damon says staring at Elena with a blank expression on his face.

Elena breathes heavily. Damon releases her from his grip and backs up. Elena looks into the cave and starts to move towards it. Damon holds his hand up to block her way.

Elena looks over to Lola for help but Lola is giving Elena the same facial expression Damon is and shakes her head. Elena snarls at both of them and stomps out of the tomb in a rage. They watch her go then looks back into the cave. Stefan walks over to the entrance.

"Of all the idiot plans, Stefan." Damon scoffs.

"Yeah." Stefan says looking down at the ground.

Lola walks up a bit closer to the tomb entrance, "We'll find a way to get you out."

Stefan smiles, "Ah, it's all right. I'll handle myself. Bonnie has the moonstone. Work with her. Try to figure out how to de-spell it." He says looking at both his siblings.

"You martyr yourself in a tomb and we get partnered with a semi-competent witch. Wonderful." Damon says in a sarcastic tone.

Stefan laughs slightly and then looks up with a straight face, "Keep Elena away from here."

Lola rolls her eyes, "Yeah. 'Cause that'll be easy."

Stefan looks at Damon, "Promise me. No matter what happens. You'll protect her."

Stefan then looks over to Lola, "Both of you."

"Promise." Lola and Damon say in unison.

Lola gives Stefan a half smile and they both go to walk out of the tomb.
