"Don't tell Dean the truth."

"Yes, Sir."

It's late at night in a random low star motel and in one of the rooms are four people. Two of which are asleep, one pretending to be asleep and one trying to move around as quietly as he can while he packs his bags, trying not to wake up his son, Dean Winchester, Granddaughter Harlow Winchester and his late best friends' Daughter, Juliet Sullivan.
But unbeknownst to the older man known as John Winchester, Juliet is wide awake and watching his every move, her dark eyebrows furrowed.
Juliet watches as John slips out of the motel room, gently shutting the worn and creaky door behind him.
Juliet looks to her sleeping boyfriend and daughter, a chuckle leaving her pink and plump lips as she eyes the scene in front of her. Dean has one arm under his pillow while the other is protectively wrapped around their four-year-old daughter, Harlow.
The young mother smiles softly at the scene before quietly slipping out of the bed she shares with her little family and walks out of the motel room, after John.
The 23-year-old brunette watches with her arms crossed as John loads his stuff into the trunk of his black pick-up truck.
The Sullivan descendant clears her throat, making herself known which results in John turning around with his gun cocked and aimed at her. Juliet smirks while mockingly raising her arms in surrender.
John sighs and switches the gun to safety mode before putting it back in the waistband of his jeans. The Sullivan Hunter raises her eyebrows at the man that taught her everything there is to know about hunting."Going somewhere?"ย
The older Winchester clears his throat while shutting the door to the trunk of his truck. "I'm off to get us some food, be back in the morning." Juliet squints her eyes at her boyfriend's father. "You're going to get food...with a bag packed?"
John sighs and looks to the woman he's proud that Juliet has become, although he would never admit it. The said Woman puts one hand on her hip, a stern expression now on her face. "So I'll ask you again, going somewhere?" The experienced hunter looks down before meeting the dark brown eyes of Juliet.
"I think I've found a lead on the thing that killed Mary." Juliet's stern expression immediately softens and she gives John a sad smile as he carries on with what he's saying. "I've been doing some research and I think I might finally be able to kill it and with you and Dean being older, you two can take care of yourselves now."
Juliet, catching on to what the older man was saying, shakes her head. "No. John, you can't go and track this thing down on your own, it's suicide, at least take me or Dean with you." John shakes his head as he makes his way to stand in front of the woman who he views as a niece.
The man gently places his hands on her shoulders. "You can't, you have a daughter you need to take care of, the both of you need to take care of." Juliet brushes Johns hands off of her shoulders as she glares at the older man. "So you're just gonna go off into the night, with no backup and without even telling Dean? I mean damn, if I hadn't caught you, I wouldn't have known."
John looks down sadly before getting in the driver's side of his truck, closing the door behind him. "I'm trying to protect Dean. I left a note saying I've gone hunting, alone." John then turns his gaze to Juliet, a stern look swimming in his once warm Hazel eyes. "You're not going to tell Dean anything, that's an order, Juliet."
The young adult squirms under his gaze, knowing that she can't disobey a direct order from the man. Juliet reluctantly nods her head.
"Just stick with the story that I've gone Hunting alone and It'll be fine."
Juliet glares at John once again. "I'm not happy to lie to him but this is what I get when you brought me up in this life." Juliet then looks to John, her glare wavering as a thought crosses her mind. "Harlow's going to be heartbroken when she wakes up and sees that you're not there. Do you expect me to lie to my daughter too?"
John rolls his eyes, tired of being held back when he could already be on the road by now. The said man turns the keys in the ignition, revving the engine to life. "I don't care what you do, just don't tell Dean the truth."
Juliet exhales before reluctantly nodding her head. "Yes, Sir."
John nods and then pulls out of where he parked his truck and drives down the road.
Juliet stays where she is and continues to watch as his truck grows smaller and smaller until it's no longer in sight. The young brunette sighs before making her way back into the motel room she now only shares with her daughter and Dean.
As the motel door shuts behind her, Juliet just stands and watches as her boyfriend and daughter sleep, wishing she just went back to sleep instead of following after John so then she would just assume that he had just gone hunting instead of tracking down the thing that killed Mary...that could also kill him.
Juliet stands there for another minute, looking at the door hoping John will change his mind and walk back through it, but he doesn't. The brown eyed woman sighs before slipping back into bed beside her daughter and boyfriend.
She tenses up as Dean puts his hand around her waist and caresses her hip while still being in a deep slumber. Juliet frowns dreading what the morning will bring, dreading to lie to Dean o his face and dreading to see the heartbroken expression on her daughters face when she wakes and finds out her Grandpa left without a goodbye. With those thoughts on her mind, Juliet closes her eyes and succumbs to what will be the first restless sleep of many.

The Next Morning
Juliet groans as she feels a ticklish feeling on her cheek. The still half asleep brunette lifts her hand and sluggishly attemps to swat whatever's causing that ticklish feeling, away.
A deep chuckle can be heard from beside her which causes Juliet to open one of her eyes to see Dean, still in his boxers and shirt, with a smirk on his face.
"Rise and shine, babe."
Juliet groans as she slowly sits up, her brown locks sticking up in every direction.
Her brown eyes move to the other double bed in the room, the memories of last night coming back to her.
She swallows the lump in her throat as she watches Dean get up from the bed and make his way to the small circular coffee table in the corner of the room.
Her brown eyes never leave his frame. She watches as he picks up a thin piece of paper that was lying on the said coffee table. She watches as Dean's eyes scan over the page, reading the words that are scribbled in his father's messy handwriting.
'Gone Hunting alone - Dad'
Dean then puts the piece of paper down before looking up and meeting Juliet's wide eyes.
The 26-year-old clears his throat. "Dad's gone on a hunting trip, so it looks like it's just me, you and Harls."
At the mention of her Daughter's name, Juliet's eyes move to the small figure of a 4-year-old girl peacefully sleeping. Juliet can't help but notice the relaxed and innocent expression on her Daughter's face as she slept.
She also can't help but notice how similar she looks to Dean when she sleeps. One of her arms is underneath her pillow while her other is wrapped tightly around her stuffed Elephant her uncle had gotten her the day she was born.
Juliet smiles slightly as Harlow's birth enters her mind.

2nd November, 2000
18-year-old Juliet and 21 year old Dean are waiting for John to get back from a Hunt. In the meantime, the two of them are watching after 17-year-old Sam Winchester, Dean's brother and Juliet's best friend.
Juliet is laying on the lumpy and uncomfortable motel bed with Dean laying next to her and caressing her bump, whispering things under his breath directed to their unborn child when Sammy comes out of the kitchenette like area with a pissed off look on his face.
18-year-old Juliet sighs, already feeling one of his and Dean's pathetic brotherly arguments brewing.
Her feeling is proven correct when Sam holds up an almost half-empty box of cereal that belonged to him.
"Did you steal some of my cereal again?!"
Dean looks to his girlfriend and rolls his eyes before planting a kiss on her stomach and getting up from the bed.
"So, I'm the eldest. I can take what I like." Juliet rolls her eyes at how childish Dean sounds.
"That's not fair, Dean! I told you specifically not to touch my cereal, but as usual, you didn't listen to me. You're so frustrating you know that!"
"I'm frustrating?! Do you know how much energy it takes out of me when I always have to break up one of yours and Dad's arguments?"
17-year-old Sam glares at his brother and Juliet rolls her eyes as the teenager and young adult start to have a shouting match in the middle of their motel room.
The 18-year-old brunette goes to stand up when she feels something drip down her leg. Juliet's eyes widen as she slowly stands up and looks down at the puddle underneath her feet.
She looks back to the two brothers to see them still arguing, not noticing the look on Juliet's face.
"Guys."
The Winchester brothers don't hear her, too caught up in their argument. It's then Juliet feels a sharp pain coming from her stomach. She doubles over in pain and presses her hand to where the pain is.
She looks back to Sam and Dean, having enough of the arguing.
"Guys!"
The urgency and the high pitch tone in her voice cause the two brothers to turn around and look at the brunette.
Dean's eyes widen when he sees the position that his girlfriend is in and rushes over. "Juliet!" Dean's hand goes straight to rubbing her back when he looks down at the puddle beneath her feet.
Dean's emerald eyes widen as he snaps his gaze back up to Juliet's hazel ones. "Is that..."
Juliet nods her head with a terrified yet pain-stricken expression on her face. "My water has just broke."
As soon as the words are uttered from her mouth, Sam and Dean immediately get to work. Dean grabbing everything he can, including the overnight bag while Sam takes over and supports Juliet as the three of them make their way to the 1967 Chevy Impala that John had passed down to Dean.

Hours later, after using all of her strength to push and after straining her vocal cords from all the screaming, a cry rings out in the hospital room Juliet was assigned.
"Congratulations. It's a girl."
Juliet and Dean look at each other, both with tears in their eyes as the nurses whisk their daughter away to do some check-ups on her.
Not even a few minutes later, Juliet and Dean's daughter is placed in the brunettes arms. Juliet looks down and gazes into her newborn's eyes and notices they're the same colour as Deans.
She also notices that their daughter has been gifted with her face shape and Deans nose and Juliet's mouth shape. The new mother looks up to her boyfriend and back down to their daughter.
"Would you like to hold her?"
Dean's eyes widen at the thought of holding another human being who's so small and fragile but as he looks down at his newly born daughter he can't help but feel a new sense of protectiveness come over him.
Without hesitating, Dean nods his head and cradles his daughter in his arms as soon as Juliet passes her to him.
As the new father looks down into the eyes which are identical to his, he feels a feeling of love and warmth run through his body.
He softly smiles down at his new bundle of joy and caresses her cheek before moving his hand down to her tiny hands.
Dean's heart bursts as the newborn wrapped up in a pink blanket, latches onto his index finger with her tiny hand, wrapping her little four fingers and thumb around his finger.
"I'm your daddy, and I'm gonna try my damn hardest and make sure no harm will come to you or your mother."
The newborn's eyes latch onto his green ones as she gazes up at him, with her big green eyes, Dean pulls her closer to him.
His eyes then move to Juliet's and smiles softly at his girlfriend who has fallen asleep from exhaustion.
He looks up as the door to their hospital room opens and smiles as Sam walks in with a toy in his hand.
The younger Winchester brother moves his eyes to Juliet's sleeping figure before shifting them back to his brother who he now notices is holding a small bundle wrapped in pink in his arms.
"Sammy, meet your niece. Harlow Mary Winchester."
Sam raises his eyebrows at the name as he moves closer and peers down at the now asleep newborn in his brother's arms.
"She's adorable. I thought you two didn't have the name picked out?" Dean smirks. "Yeah...we lied."
Sam laughs before remembering the object in his hands. The youngest Winchester scratches the back of his head before clearing his throat. "I, uhh, got this for her."
Dean watches as Sam puts his hand out, holding a stuffed elephant. The older Winchester smiles and takes the Elephant from his hands and puts his newborn daughter in the makeshift cot the doctors set up, before putting the stuffed elephant Sam has gifted Harlow, beside her head.
"Look, I'm uhh sorry...about the whole cereal thing."
Dean laughs as he looks up at his brother and smiles at him while shaking his head. "Don't worry about it."
Sam smiles as he pulls up a chair next to his brother. The two watching as Harlow's small body rises and falls with each breath.
โขโขโขEnd of Flashbackโขโขโข
"What awe you tinkin' about?"
Juliet's gaze snaps up at the sound of her daughter's voice. The young mother smiles as she brushes some of the stray hairs away from her daughters face.
"I was thinking about you and how thankful I am to have you as my daughter."
Harlow giggles at her mother's words. It's then Juliet notices that Dean is nowhere to be seen but she hears the shower running.
She turns back to her daughter to see her green eyes looking at the empty bed across from them.
"Where Gwandpa?"
Juliet once again swallows the lump that forms in her throat before looking at her 4-year-old daughter and forcing a smile onto her face.
"Grandpa had something he had to do, so it's just you, me and Daddy today."
Harlow frowns at her mother's words, clutching her stuffed elephant who she named Ellie, to her chest.
Juliet goes to say something else when the door to the motel bathroom opens and Dean steps out fully clothed.
Harlow's frown is immediately wiped off of her face and is replaced with a pearly white smile as she rolls off of the bed and runs up to Dean.
"Morning Daddy!"
The 26-year-old smiles as he lifts Harlow into his arms. "Morning Baby, you hungry?"
Harlow nods her head and Dean's smile widens. "You wanna get some grub?" Harlow smiles and nods her head more enthusiastically. "Can I have pie for breakfast?"
Dean tickles his daughter's belly causing her to giggle. "You can have whatever you want." Dean then jokingly adds "As long as it's under five dollars."
It's then Dean notices that Juliet is uncharacteristically quiet.
Usually, she would have intervened and gently broke the news to their daughter that pie wasn't very healthy to have in the morning or she would have at least laughed at him teasing Harlow.
The dirty-blond haired man looks to his girlfriend and sees her sitting there, staring into space.
"Jules."
Juliet jumps at the sound of her boyfriend's voice, having been zoned out, thinking of the conversation between her and John last night.
Her brown eyes meet Dean's concerned green ones. "You okay?" The young adult musters up a smile as she nods her head. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just tired."
Dean nods his head, not convinced but decides not to push her. "We're gonna get some breakfast, you coming?"
Juliet smiles a genuine smile as she looks at her daughter in Dean's arms. "And miss the chance to hang out with my two favourite people? Of course, I'm coming."
Juliet then stands up from the bed and places a kiss on Dean's lips and a kiss on Harlow's head as she makes her way into the bathroom.
"Just let me freshen up first."
Dean nods his head and the last thing Juliet hears before she shuts the door is Dean asking Harlow what she would like to wear for the day.
As she locks the bathroom door behind her, Juliet looks at herself in the mirror opposite her, above the sink. John's words echoing in her head.
"Don't tell Dean the truth."
Juliet curses John in her mind. 'I hope you know what you're getting into John.'
