HOME [PART THREE]
___
"Hi, Mom."
โ
"You've grown up to be beautiful, I always knew you would."
โข โข โข
Dean and Juliet watch from the doorstep as Missouri walks Jenny and her kids outside, Harlow with them. Juliet doesn't know how, but Missouri managed to convince Jenny to take the kids and go and see a film at the movie theater. Harlow had begged Dean and Juliet to let her go and they agreed, both knowing it would be safer if their daughter was out and away from the house while they get to work making holes in the walls and throwing the bags inside.
Jenny bites her lip as she looks between Missouri, Dean and Juliet.
"Look, I'm not sure I'm comfortable leaving you guys here on your own."
Missouri sends the woman a comforting smile, "Just take the kids to the movies or somethin', and it'll be over by the time you get back."
Jenny gives one last unsure look before going to make a move to leave, but the Winchester child stops, a thought striking her. She turns and runs back over to Dean and holds her hand out with a smile. Her father rolls his eyes in good nature as he instantly knows what she's silently asking him. He sighs and digs his hand into his back pocket and pulls out his wallet and hands Harlow a ten dollar bill.
She smiles as she takes the money with a 'thank you'. She gives her mom and dad one last hug before walking back over to Jenny and her kids, already knowing she's gonna spend the money on snacks for her to share with Sari. Juliet shakes her head at Harlow's antics, she's her mother's daughter, alright.
"Have fun, Harls. We'll see you when you get back."
The five year old smiles and waves enthusiastically to her parents before turning back to Sari, the two girls talking about god knows what.
Juliet smiles as she turns to Dean and lays a hand on his chest, "At least she gets to be a kid for one night." She feels Dean nod as he rests his cheek on the top of her head, his arm wrapping around her waist. "Yeah, maybe we should go to the movies at some point, make a date out of it."
Juliet smiles and goes to reply with a 'yes', but Missouri's voice grabs both her and Dean's attention.
"If you two don't get your asses inside that house to help, I'll go and get that spoon and smack you both over the head with it."
Dean and Juliet snigger at her words but does as she says, knowing the woman well enough to know that she would wholeheartedly follow through on her words. They walk into the old house and Missouri shuts the door behind them. She gives each of the hunters a few bags and with that, they set off to work.
โข โข โข
Juliet enters the nursery, which is now Sari's room, with a hammer in hand, she surveys the room with her lips pursed before eyeing a certain corner of the room. Nodding her head she approaches the wall and lines up the base of the hammer and hits the wall a few times, creating a small hole. She bends down and is about to throw the leather bag filled with herbs and roots in, but before she can, an invisible and powerful forces throws her backwards, Juliet hits her head on the corner of the bookcase.
The huntress blinks, dazed.
From the corner of her eye, Juliet can see the power cord from Sari's bedroom lamp start to slither and come towards her like a snake closing in on its prey. She eyes the leather hex bag which is to her right, she strains with all her might to get it, she's so close she can feel the tips of her fingers touch the hex bag when the cord wraps around her neck, tightly squeezing her throat.
Her hands automatically start scratching at her throat, trying to claw the thing off, but it's useless. She gasps for breath as black dots start to dance around in her vision. She feels herself slowly slipping into the darkness.
Her eyebrows furrow as she sees the leather bag be thrown into the hole she had made, by something invisible. Juliet lets out a sigh of relief as a blinding white light casts across the bedroom, expelling the poltergiest completely from the room.
Just as she's about to completely black out, another powerful force sends the poltergiest flying back. She feels a presence beside her, a feeling of someone stroking their fingers through her hair, the touch almost feels motherly and the presence doesn't feel evil or cold, it feels warm and comfortable.
Juliet feels herself succumb to the darkness, before she fully slips into the blackness she hears someone whisper to her.
"You're gonna be fine, my darling."
โข โข โข
Dean looks up at Sam, both Winchester brother's out of breath as the eldest brother had just saved his younger brother from being chocked to death by an electrical cord. Dean had come in just in time, it seems after the poltergiest had launched kitchen knives at him before he could expell it with the bag in the kitchen, it had made it way to Sam. Luckily, the older Winchester was able to throw the leather bag in the hole he had created before one of the knives could hit him. After his ordeal with the poltergeist, Dean had come upstairs to check on his brother and girlfriend when he saw Sam lying on the floor, cord wrapped around his neck with the bag full of herbs and roots by his foot. Thinking fast, Dean kicked a hall in the wall and threw the bag in, expelling the poltergiest and saving Sam.
The said Winchester brother sits up with a cough as the cord falls to the ground. Sam looks up at Dean, weakly and with a rasp in his voice, he thanks him. He then looks around noticing that someone is missing, he eyes his older brother.
"Where's Juliet?"
Dean looks to Sam and goes to tell him that she's in Sari's room, when a loud thump is heard from the room that was once Sam's nursery, the two brother's share a look before running to the source of the sound.
They walk into the room and Dean's eyes are instantly drawn to the slumped down figure of the mother of his child. He runs over and gently moves her towards him, cradling her in his arms. His green eyes flit over her body, noticing the gash on the side of her head, deep red blood trickling down her face.
Dean moves the dark strands of her that is covering his girlfriend's face.
"Juliet, baby?"
Sam and Dean share a look once more when there's no response. The latter of the two gently picks Juliet up and sets her down on Sari's bed, being careful not to get any blood on the comforter.
Missouri walks into the room, having wondered where everyone was. She eyes Sam and Dean before noticing Juliet lying on the bed, eyes shut and blood dripping down from her head.
She glares at the two Winchester brother's, "Well don't just gawk at her, get a bowl of warm water and a dish towel."
Dean looks to Sam, silently asking him to fetch the stuff while he stays back with Juliet. He watches as Sam leaves the room, coming back a few seconds later with the bowl of water and towel in hand. Sam hands the items to Dean, who kneels down by Juliet's head before submerging the towel in the warm water and wringing it out before gently using it to clean the blood off Juliet's face.
After the blood has been wiped away, Missouri leans down and dresses the wound. Sam eyes his best friend in worry, he glances at Missouri putting the large band aid on Juliet's head.
"Will she be okay?"
Missouri stands up to her full height and eyes the fall and rise of her chest, her breaths are even. Without, meaning for to, her mind picks up on what Juliet is thinking, it's a good sign, means she's coming around. She looks to Sam and smiles, "She's gonna be just fine, honey."
Just then, Juliet groans.
The huntress blinks her eyes open blearily. Her vision is hazy but she can hear the sound of someone saying her name. She looks to her right and sees Dean sitting beside her, his expression worried.
"Juliet?"
Her vision starts to become more clear, she looks around her and sees Sam and Missouri standing on the other side of her. The memories come rushing back to her, the poltergiest, the lamp cord, a woman's voice?
She shakes the memories away and goes to sit up but Dean's hands are instantly setting her back down, gently.
"Woah, take it easy. You bumped your head pretty hard."
She smacks Dean's hands away, "I'm fine, you just worry too much."
Dean rolls his eyes but doesn't protest. He's not about to start an argument he knows he can't win. So instead he helps Juliet up, his arm around her waist, letting her lean against him. Sam eyes Juliet with concern, "What happened?"
Juliet winces as her head throbs in pain but she shakes it off and answers Sam's question.
"I was putting a hole in the wall and was about to throw the bag in when a force threw me back and I hit my head on the book case." She points to the said shelf before looking between the two Winchester brother's and the psychic.
Her eyebrows furrow as the woman's voice echos in her head, "And..."
Dean eyes Juliet as her words trails off, "And?"
Juliet shakes her head and looks up at Dean, "And I blacked out."
Dean rubs Juliet's back in comfort as he looks to Missouri, "Well, at least it's over now."
Unbeknownst to Dean, Juliet looks down at hearing his words. Her gut feeling is telling her otherwise. She knows that this is far from over.
โข โข โข
An hour later, the four of them are standing in the messy kitchen. Juliet lets out a whistle as she eyes the thrown over table with knives sticking out of the top. "It sure did a number in here." Dean nods his head, "You could say that." He eyes the dressing on her forehead, "Are you sure you're okay?"
Juliet eyes him, her expression deadpan.
"No, I think I'm gonna keel over and die in the next five seconds."
Dean raises his eyebrow at her, "That's not funny. Your sarcasm isn't appreciated right now."
Juliet rolls her eyes, "Like I said, you worry too much. I just got a bump to the head. After taking some Tylenol, I'll be fine."
Dean sighs but doesn't say anything more on the matter and instead just pulls her into his side, wrapping his arms around her but not too tightly. Dean places a kiss on her head, he'll be sure to keep an eye on that 'bump to the head', tonight.
Sam glances at Dean and Juliet before looking to Missouri, who is standing next to him. "You sure this is over?" The psychic nods her head, "I'm sure." She eyes him in curiosity, "Why? Why do you ask?"
Sam shakes his head, "Never mind." He sighs, opting out on telling her about the dream/vision he had the night before. "It's nothin', I guess."
Missouri goes to ask him more about the matter but the door opens and Jenny enters the house followed by her kids and Harlow.
"Hello? We're home."
They walk into the room and the little Winchester eyes the mess of the kitchen, she looks to her parents and sees her mom wrapped up in her father's arms. Her little mind instantly clicks that something has happened...something bad.
Harlow runs over to Dean and Juliet, her little arms wrapping around their legs. Dean momentarily lets go of Juliet and picks Harlow up. Once his daughter is in his arms, he wraps his one free arm up around Juliet's waist, once more.
Jenny eyes the kitchen before looking to the three hunters and the pyschic, she immediately notices the dressing around Juliet's wound, as well as the red ligature mark on the huntress' and Sam's necks.
"What happened?"
Sam winces, looking at Jenny.
"Hi, sorry. Um, we'll pay for all of this."
Juliet nods her head, agreeing with Sam's words while Dean looks at the two in confusion. Juliet sends him a look as Missouri smiles at Jenny, "Don't you worry. Dean's gonna clean up this mess."
The said man's confusion, deepens as he stands in the same spot, not moving. Missouri shakes her head she she eyes the older Winchester brother, "Well, what are you waiting for, boy? Get the mop."
Dean sighs but walks off after passing Harlow to Sam, knowing, despite what Juliet says, she's not in the best condition to be holding Harlow right now.
With his back turned, Dean rolls his eyes and internally calls Missouri all the rude words he could think of. Missouri catches his thoughts and narrows her eyes, "And don't cuss at me!" Juliet shakes her head as she watches Dean walk away, muttering under his breath, something about 'stupid psychics.'
A little while later, after Dean had cleaned up the kitchen, Missouri, Harlow and the three hunter's leave the house. Jenny smiles as she waves them goodbye from the doorstep.
Juliet eyes Sam as they get into the car, "Is it just me or does it feel like this has been too easy. Like...it's not over yet."
Sam nods his head, agreeing with his best friend as he eyes the old Winchester house.
"No. I have the same feeling, too." He looks to Juliet, an eyebrow raised. "Are you thinkin' what I'm thinkin'?" Juliet narrows her eyes as she flits her brown eyes to the house, "Yeah, I think I am."
With that the two best friends get into the Impala as Dean twists the key in the ignition, Baby's engine roars to life.
โข โข โข
Later that night, the Impala is parked outside the front of the house. Juliet sits in the back with Harlow, the little Winchester wide awake, as she watches the house with her mom. Dean sighs from the drivers seat, turning to the passenger where Sam sits, his eyes transfixed on the old Winchester home. Dean eyes his little brother, "All right, so, tell me again, why were you and Juliet so hellbent on comin' back here?"
Juliet rolls her eyes as Sam takes his eyes away from the house to look at his brother, "I don't know. I just...I still have a bad feeling."
Dean flicks his eyes up the rearview mirror, eyeing Juliet's reflection.
"And you had the same feeling?"
Juliet nods her head, "Call it hunters instinct."
Dean sighs, once more. "Why? Missouri did her whole Zelda Rubenstein thing, the house should be clean, it should be over."
Juliet leans foward pokes her head over the front bench seat, looking at Dean. "Don't you think this has been a little too easy?" Dean shakes his head, "Some cases just are. Like I said, it should be over."
Sam shrugs his shoulders, "Yeah, well, probably." He continues to eye the house, "But I just want to make sure, that's all."
Dean smacks his lips, "Yeah, well, problem is I could be sleeping in a bed right now." Juliet watches with a roll of her eyes as Dean slouches down in the seat and closes his eyes. "And you call yourself a hunter?"
Dean doesn't open his eyes, but does give her the middle finger, resulting in him recieving a smack from Juliet.
Sam ignores the two and looks to Jenny's bedroom window, his eyes widening as she sees the said woman banging on the glass and screaming while looking right at him. His eyes open wider as what he dreamt about, is happening right before him in this very moment.
He taps Dean on the shoulder without straying his eyes away from the house, "Dean. Look, Dean."
Dean looks to where Sam is pointing, his eyes about to pop out of his head at seeing the distress Jenny is in. He quickly glances between Sam and Juliet, "You two grab the kids, I'll get Jenny." Juliet nods her head, knowing that Dean's plan makes sense as it would be easier to get both kids out if Juliet goes with Sam.
Juliet's eyes widen as the more time that passes, the less chance they have of saving the mother and her two children. So, without another word being spoken between the three, the hunters get out of the car and rush into the house.
Inside the house, the three hunters split up. Dean goes to Jenny's room, Juliet goes to Sari's while Sam goes to Ritchies.
Juliet bursts open the bedroom door when she hears Sari's high pitched screasm for help. She quickly looks to where Sari is sitting on her bed, clutching the comforter in her hands in fear. Without wasting anytime, Juliet rushes over to the young girl and scoops her up in her arms, eyeing the figure made out of fire standing at the end of the little girl's bed. Her eyes widen as a second, faceless figure appears next to the fire one. She tilts her head in confusion as neither of them make a move to attack them.
She shakes her head, she can deal with that later. Right now, getting Sari safe is her main priority. Juliet covers the girls head with her hand, gently shushing her cries, "You'll be okay, sweetheart. Just don't look, okay." She feels the young girl nod against her hand.
With that, Juliet exits the room and almost collides with Sam, who's holding Ritche, as she does. The two make it downstairs, and set the kids on the floor. Knowing it would be quicker for them to make a run for it than it would be for the brother and sister to be carried. Besides, like Juliet said, the kids are their first priority.
Sam looks away from Juliet and bends down to Sari and Ritchie's height, gently holding both of their hands in his as he looks to Sari. "All right, Sari, take your brother outside as fast as you can, and don't look back."
Before Sari can reply, an invisible force throws both Juliet and Sam to the floor. Juliet groans as her head hits the floor once more, she's definitely going to have a concussion after this. Suddenly, her and Sam are dragged backwards and into the kitchen, Sam's back hitting the table with a loud thud. In any normal circumstance, Juliet would have laughed.
Sari screams in terror before grabbing her little brother and running out of the house with him in her arms.
Dean watches as Sari runs out of the house and rushes over to where him and Jenny stand with Harlow, the little Winchester had got out of the car and stood outside when her mother and father went in, knowing that they would want her to be safe.
Dean bends down to Sari's height and gently lays a hand on her shoulder, he noticed that neither Juliet or Sam had followed them out. "Sari, where are Sam and Juliet?" The young girl looks up at Dean through her tears and points over to the house, "They're inside. Something's got them."
Panicked, Dean looks at the front door which is still wide open. He rushes over but before he can walk in the threshold, the door suddenly slams shut on it's own with Juliet and Sam still trapped inside the house.
With gritted teeth, Dean runs over to the trunk of the Impala and opens it, grabbing a riffle that is already full of buckshot. He also grabs Juliet's axe that she keeps in the trunk. With the two weapons in hand, he runs over to the door, using the axe to break down the door, not caring that wood is flying everywhere.
Inside the Kitchen, Sam and Juliet are having trouble of their own. Juliet yelps as she, along with Sam, is flung back and thrown into a set of cabinets. Juliet goes to stand up but the invisible force pins her into place and starts to lift her into the air, her back still pressed into the cabinet. She looks to her right and sees Sam is in the same predicament. Neither of them can move any part of their body. Juliet moves her eyes foward and winces as the figure of fire advances towards Sam, while the faceless figure advances towards her.
Great, this is going to be how she dies, by being pinned down by a poltergeist while it's two goons finishes her off.
But oddly enough, she doesn't feel like she should run from the faceless figure, infact she feels the same as she did before she blacked out in Sari's room earlier. She feels at peace and relaxed. She tilts her head at the figure, her eyes widening as if she's she looking past the faceless figure and seeing the facial features that are behind it for the first time.
Juliet can faintly hear Dean hacking away at the wooden front door with an axe in the background, she doesn't pay him any mind, too preoccupied with the figure still advancing towards her.
The older Winchester brother keeps chopping until he's created a hole big enough for him to step through. Once inside the house he walks through the foyer, looking for his girlfriend and for his brother. He doesn't realize that Harlow had followed him in.
"Juliet? Sam? Guys!"
He finds them both in the kitchen, pinned to the cabinets. He glares at the figure made of fire and raises the riffle and lines up the shoot, so he can shoot both figures at the same time but Sam and Juliet's voices stop him.
"No, don't! Don't!"
"Dean, don't you dare! Lower the gun!"
The said man gives both hunters a look of confusion as he lowers his gun, slightly. "What, why?!"
Juliet smiles with tears in her eyes as she eyes both figures, "Because, you moron. We can both see who they really are now." Her glassy eyes eye the faceless figure with fondness as she recongizes why she feels what she feels in the ghosts presence. "I see you, Mom."
Suddenly, the fire vanishes and in its place stands Mary Winchester, wearing the nightgown she died in. The Winchester mother looks to her left, smiling as the faceless spirits facial features start to appear, her eyes are aquamarine in color, a contrast to Mary's. Her hair is brown and falls down to the middle of her back, she looks just like Juliet, except the eye color.
Juliet lets out a sob as she eyes the woman standing in front of her, wearing biker boots, skinny jeans and a sweater. "Hi, Mom."
Lydia Sullivan smiles at her daughter as Dean lowers his gun completely, stunned by what he is seeing before him. He eyes the blonde woman in front of him, his green eyes shinning with tears as his voice cracks.
"Mom?"
Mary smiles at her eldest, "Dean." she gives him a longing look before walking past him and over to her youngest. She eyes Sam with sympathy, placing a ghostly hand on his cheek, "Sam." The side Winchester brother smiles weakly with tears in his eyes as he leans into his mother's cold touch. "I'm sorry." Mary's words give him pause, he furrows his eyebrows in confusion. "For what?"
Mary doesn't answer and instead looks over to Lydia and Juliet, who are having their own private moment.
Lydia gently threads her fingers through her daughter's hair, a soft smile playing on her lips. "You've grown up to be beautiful, I always knew you would." Her sunken greeny-blue eyes flick over Juliet's frame, "You sure do have my looks, but your eyes...they're identical to your father's."
Juliet sniffles as she looks at her mom, "I wish you were here with me." Lydia softly smiles, "Oh, but I am." She moves her pale cold hand from Juliet's hair and places it on her chest, where her heart is, "I'm in here, always."
"You're my grandma's? You're both so pwetty."
Mary nods her head, "We sure are, sweetheart."
Juliet eyes widen at the sound of Harlow's voice. Both Lydia and Mary share a smile before looking down and seeing their grandaughter in the flesh. Lydia tilts her head, "You're pretty, too, honey." She looks at Mary, "You can sure see that she's a winchester, look at how green her eyes are." Mary laughs, "I can see the Sullivan gene in her, too."
Both mother's faces turn serious, knowing that their time has come to an end. Mary gives one last longing look at both of her son's, while Lydia does the same with her daughter before the two ghosts look up to the ceiling, eyeing the poltergeist, Mary speaks first.
"You get out of my house. And let go of my Son and Goddaughter."
Lydia frowns, "Drop my daughter this instant, or you'll have a mothers wrath to answer to."
Mary and Lydia, hold hands and Mary's flame engulfs both of them. The fire reaches the ceiling and before the three hunters know it, the three spirits disappear, leaving the three hunters stunned and standing in place.
With the poltergeist now gone, Sam and Juliet gently drop to the floor, the latter of the two lets out a sigh as she eyes both Sam and Dean as Harlow rushes over to her mother and hugs her tight.
"Now it's over."
โข โข โข
The next morning, Juliet sits on the front step with Missouri sitting to the left of her. The said Psychic turns and eyes Juliet as the huntress watches Dean and Harlow mess about and pull funny faces at each other. Dean, wanting to distract his daughter after she had just said goodbye to Sari. Another friend she has to leave behind like she did to Lucas.
Missouri sighs as she reads Juliet's thoughts.
"You're gonna have to tell them eventually, honey."
Juliet lets out a deep exhale as she turns to look at Missouri, "I know, I just can't disobey John. Once we find him, I'll tell Sam and Dean everything, I swear."
Missouri gives Juliet a look, "The truth won't stay buried forever. He will eventually find out, you know that right?"
Juliet glances back to Harlow and Dean as she shakes her head, "Well, it can stay buried for a little longer. If Dean finds out now, he'll track down John and help him hunt the damn thing, which he has a right to do, of course. I don't know..I feel like ever since John left and we don't have him breathing down our necks, Dean seems more carefree..like the weight and the expectations have lifted from his shoulder's."
Missouri smiles at that, "Your secret is safe with me, of course but don't leave it too late to tell them, okay?"
Juliet smiles and nods her head, "Okay." She sighs as she glances behind her at the house, "I can't believe mom was 'haunting' this house with Mary. I don't understand, surely if she was gonna haunt any house it would be the one across the street."
Missouri shrugs her shoulder's, "The Winchester home was the last place Lydia had left you before she passed, it makes perfect sense to me as to why her spirit would be attached to it." Juliet bites her lip in thought, "I guess so, but then what about dad? Why wasn't he around?"
Missouri places a comforting hand on Juliet's shoulder, "Maybe your daddy had already moved on, honey."
Juliet goes to reply but before she can utter a word, she sees Sam approaching them with an annoyed look on his face. Juliet smirks as she eyes his expression, "You okay there, Samantha?" The younger Winchester brother rolls his eyes at the ridiculous nickname. "Dean's being a pain in the ass by trying to get a rise outta me."
Juliet chuckles as she stands up, having a feeling that Sam also wants to have a word with Missouri about something. She looks down to the said Pyschic, "If you excuse me, I have to sort out Tweedledee and Tweedledumb, over there."
Sam smirks as he occupies the space where Juliet was just sitting, "Which one is Dean again?" Juliet shakes her head as she laughs, amused. "Do you even have to ask?" With that, she walks over to her boyfriend and her daughter.
"I see you're having fun without me."
Before Dean can retort with a witty reply, Jenny walks over to the three of them, a box with the words 'Winchester-Sullivan' written in sharpie on the side. She smiles as she hands the box to Dean, "Here, I have a feeling you wouldn't want to leave without taking these with you."
Dean smiles in thanks as he takes the box from the blonde's hands.
"Thanks for these."
Jenny smiles and shakes her head, "Don't thank me, they're yours."
Juliet eyes the box before opening the top, and grabbing a small pile of photos. She then crouches down to Harlow's height so the five year old can see them better. The huntress smiles as the photo on top of the pile is of her, Sam and Dean when they were younger. The one year old Juliet, is cradled in Dean's arms, crying. Young Dean also holds baby Sam in the photo, the six month old having a better time than Juliet.
Harlow points to the baby in the photo, "Who's that?"
Juliet hands her photo as she answers Harlow's question, "That's me. I never noticed how much you resembled me as a child, until now. Although, you have your daddy's eyes, of course." She moves to the second photo and her breath hitches and her brown eyes widen. The second photo shows a still of her mom lying in a hospital bed with her father standing by Lydia's side, looking down at newborn Juliet with pride while Lydia looks straight at the camera with red face but also a beaming smile on her face.
She moves onto the third photo in the small pile she had grabbed. This one is of a younger John, Mary, Joseph and Lydia. They look to be around in their teens. Joseph and John hold beers in their hands, both looking down at their respective partners with love as Lydia and Mary look at each other, both in mid-laugh.
They look so young, Juliet can definitely see what Missouri meant when she said she looks like her mother but had her father's eyes.
"Babe?"
Dean's voice stops Juliet from moving onto the next photo, her eyes move to his frame and sees him standing by the, now open, trunk. The box that Jenny had given them is now placed inside. Juliet smiles and places the photos back inside the box, there will be time to go over them later. She watches as Dean closes the trunk and turns to Sam, who's still talking to Missouri. Neither him or Juliet can hear what's being said, but they need to get a move on. They hadn't gotten any sleep the night before, and although it's been twenty-four hours since Juliet got bonked on the head, Dean can see that the tiredness she is feeling is taking it's toll. The quicker they leave, the quicker they can find a motel and catch up on some sleep. Even little Harlow is struggling to keep her eyes open.
"Sam, you ready?"
Sam looks up at the sound of his brother's voice and nods his head as he stands up and walks over to the car as Juliet buckles Harlow into her car seat. Before Sam can make a move to sit in the front, Dean shakes his head, "Uh-uh. You can sit in the back, little brother. That way I can keep an eye on Jules."
Hearing Dean say her name has Juliet rolling her eyes as she shuts the car door on Harlow's side, shut. "Like I keep tellin' you, I'm fine." Dean doesn't look confused, "Yeah, and I'm the president of America. You're riding in the front."
Knowing it's best not to argue with him, she does as he says and gets into the passenger side as Sam gets in the back with Harlow. Dean rolls down the window as Jenny gives them all her 'thanks' and waves them goodbye.
Missouri eyes the three hunters, "Don't you guys be strangers."
Juliet smiles as she leans over Dean and waves, "We won't, I promise."
Missouri smiles as she waves, "See you around."
With that, the car is put into drive and with a loud road of the engine, Dean drives away.
โข โข โข
Missouri enters her house with a sigh, hanging up her coat. She pauses as she puts her purse on the table, she picks up another person's thoughts. Knowing whos thoughts they are exactly, she starts talking aloud to them.
"That boy...he has such powerful abilities. But why he couldn't sense his own father, I have no idea."
She looks over to her couch where the one and only, John Winchester sits with his eyes already on hers. John looks down and fiddles with his wedding band before looking back to Missouri, "Mary's spiritโ- do you really think she saved the boys? And Lydia?"
Missouri nods curtly, her voice clipped as she speaks.
"I do."
She watches as John continues to twist his wedding ring, having enough of the awkward silence, Missouri rests her hands on her hips as she narrows her eyes at the Winchester father. "John Winchester, I could slap you. Why won't you go and talk to your children? And that poor girl, do you know how much Juliet is struggling to keep your secret safe? Poor thing is really conflicted with herself, and why haven't you told her the truth about her parents, we both know it wasn't a werewolf that killed Joe and Lydia, that night. I felt the same energy at their crime scene as I did at the house. I ought to smack some sense into you, maybe then you wouldn't lie to yuour family. Why don't you tell the boys what you're really doin'?"
John sighs as he looks up to Missouri with tears in his eyes, "I want to. You have no idea how much I wanna see 'em and tell 'em what I'm really doin'. But I can't. Not yet. Not until I know the truth. I'll tell the truth to Juliet, I will. But just like with the boys, I need to be sure on the truth."
The two share a grave look.
John just needs Juliet to hang on for a little longer and when the time is right, everything will come to light, and he means everything.

Author's Note
And that's a wrap for the last episode of 'Home'. I hope to have the first part of 'Asylum' up before Christmas and depending on the timing, hopefully the second part, too! But next on my things to write is a one-shot for Metanoia. I want to have three new one-shots published before Christmas, well two. I want to have another one prewritten before the 25th December so I can publish it on Christmas day!
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
We finally got to a put a face to the third Spirit in the Winchester house! I hope you guys weren't expecting that plot twist! I'm sorry you didn't get to see a longer moment between Lydia and Juliet or even Lydia or Harlow, but don't fret as you may get to see more of Lydia in the future, and I don't mean just by flashbacks...๐
And like I promised, I had to write the scene with John at the end! I live and swear by the angst in this book. It's great.
While Juliet isn't being entirely open with Dean and Sam, it seems, at the same time, John isn't being entirely truthful with Juliet, when it comes to the death of her parents. I wonder what Missouri means when she says she felt the same energy at Lydia and Joe's crime scene as the one she left in Sam's nursery? ...all will come to light soon, I promise. Hell, it's not long until the scarecrow episode and let me tell you, Dean may or may not finally fit the puzzle pieces together in that episode ...well, kind of. You didn't think I would make it that easy, did you? Like I said, I live for the angst.
And Harlow made another friend, I wish I could bring Sari and Lucas back in the future but unfortunately, for plot purposes, I can't. But that doesn't mean I can't make an AU one-shot about it!
Speaking of one-shots, I plan on writing one of Dean, Juliet and Harlow going through the box of photos that Jenny had given them. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about Sam, I just thought It's make a sweet moment between, Dean, Juliet and Harlow but I could change my mind and decide to write Sam into it.
When I tell you I have a lot of One-shots to write out, I mean I have a lot of one-shots to write out. So many!
I'm sorry that this chapter was a little on the shorter side, I did try and fill it up by adding and extending some of the scenes. Hopefully the next one will be longer, I really do love the 'Asylum' episode. Although, I am stuck on if I should have it so Juliet is possesed or stick with Sam...it should all fit together when I'm writing it, I'm sure.
This chapter hasn't been edited, so if you come across any mistakes be sure to point them out in a nice way, so I can correct them!
I'll stop taking up your guys' time now.
Please don't forget to vote and comment as it really makes my day!
Until next time...
