Chapter Thirty Three : Tourney Of The Hand I

The young ice dragon was in a foul mood and would much rather remain in her chambers for the rest of the day but at last, she had duties to attend to.

It wouldn't look good if she didn't show up at the tourney for her husband and support him.

Lyarra sat down next in the middle next to Sansa and Arya along with Septa Mordane watching the tournament eagerly.

A man approached them, wearing a black tunic and coat of sorts. He appeared to be a member of the Small Council, and Sansa immediately recognized him. *Lord Petyr Baelish. He knew my mother when she was younger. He looks like someone who can start a
war. *

Alas, she could not warn anyone. A docile lady cared not for alighting people.

"Why do they call you "Littlefinger"?" she heard Arya ask.

*Your tongue will be the death of you, sister. *

"Arya don't be rude!" scolded Septa Mordane.

"Oh, I don't mind. You see, growing up I was small and slight for my age, and I came from a place called the Fingers. Your uncle Edmure coined that for me; quite a clever name." the man explained.

Arya kept silent, but she immediately despised this man. He was staring at Sansa like fresh meat, and she did not like it.

"Septa Mordane, may I switch seats with you?" she requested in feigned politeness.

"Why would you do that? "

"I just want to sit beside my elder sister during this event. "

Sansa was confused as to why the Septa left her side. Arya immediately tugged on her sleeve and whispered to her.

"I could not tell her that Littlefinger was giving you inappropriate stares. Mother would be furious if she found out."

"Thank you, Arya. "

" Lady Lannister, how is married life treating you, " Littlefinger asked, staring at the young ice wolf curiously something about her made him very confused.

She looked nothing like Catelyn, and most took after her Uncle Brandon people would say.

" Very well," Lyarra said turning to look at him with a fake smile.

" Really, about a few hours ago I happened to come across your chambers and could swear I heard you and Ser Jaime arguing I hope everything is alright," Littlefinger said with a tiny smirk

Both Arya and Sansa seethed at this remark, while Lyarra appeared to be embarrassed.

"With all due respect, Lord Baelish but it is not in your place to intrude in a lion's affairs. " Sansa intervened.

" As my sister has said you would do well to keep yourself out of my affairs with my husband " Lyarra spoke up feeling nothing but anger at the trickster and had some thoughts on turning him into an ice sculpture

*I thought these wolves were rivals?* Petyr mused. This would be very difficult. It seemed like Catelyn had raised her children too well. Unlike the Tully sisters that he grew up with, they were made of sterner stuff, even the seemingly docile red she-wolf.

" My apologies, Lady Lyarra forgive me if I overstepped " Petyr apologized.

" I hope things will get better for you and Ser Jaime, Ser Jaime is a very mysterious man with a dark past, he can be a bit demanding sometimes, " Petyr said

" What kind of dark past does Ser Jaime have, " The two younger stark sisters asked, glancing at their older sister nervously wondering if Ser Jaime has harmed her in any way.

" Oh, I shouldn't say I wouldn't want to be spreading gossip now " Petyr trailed off.

" Tell us " Lyarra demanded wanting to know who her husband was as a person.

"He slew the Mad King, thinking that it was honorable. Rumor has it that Aerys Targaryen planned to burn King's Landing to the ground with wildfire. "Peter answered.

"Caught between two oaths huh? That must be tough." Arya remarked.

"It is." Sansa agreed.

" My husband made the right choice and saved an entire city from destruction" Lyarra defended.

" He still broke his oath Lya " Sansa exclaimed.

" Tell us more about Ser Jaime" Arya demanded.

Sansa stepped on her sister's foot, scolding her for such a ribald attitude.

"I appreciate your protectiveness, Arya but do not ruin our cover with your tongue. Just so you know, Rickon is here, and we can't let anyone else find out about this. " she hissed lowly.

"Rickon? How?" Arya asked in a whispered tone.

"Ser Suguwara probably transported him. " Sansa answered.

"Tsuki cannot shapeshift into a giant bird yet, but he can carry heavy weights as a regular-sized crow," Sansa added

"Let's not speak of this in public. Littlefinger will use it against us. I despise that man too." Sansa mumbled.

" If your ladies are done whispering would you like to learn more about Ser Jaime," Petyr asked.

" Yes, we would " Lyarra exclaimed.

" Well, if you wished to know rumor has it Ser Jaime has bastard children " Littlefinger smirked.

" How many " Lyarra questioned.

" I'm not sure three perhaps " Petyr replied.

" Hmm," Lyarra nodded.

" Don't worry, Lady Lyarra I am sure the rumors aren't true " Petyr said, with a devilish smile.

" Probably not " Lyarra mumbled.

" Through there's a rumor that may be true " Petyr trailed off.

" What is it, " Lyarra asked.

" Ser Jaime has a love for years now, and loves this woman deadly and will do anything for her " Petyr added

" Cersei his beloved sister, not a surprise, Jaime has always been too foolish to see through his true sister's intentions, " Lyarra thought*

*Perceptive wolves, this will not do *. Littlefinger mused. He was finding it harder to manipulate the Starks, especially since there was a mysterious presence behind him.

"Lord Baelish, it is quite rude to sit on a reserved seat," he spoke.

"You're late, Ser Sugawara." Sansa chastised him.

"Forgive me, Lady Stark. I had to take care of merchandise from Kamakura. "

" You're lying, " Lyarra thought.

" Well you're just in time the tourney is about to start, " Sansa says.

Just then, everyone clapped for the entry of the competitors. Ser Hugh of the Vale, and Ser Gregor Clegsne.

"Gods, who's that? " Sansa asked.

"Ser Gregor Clegsne, they call him "The Mountain"," answered Littlefinger.

"He is the Hound's elder brother, a Lannister lapdog, and a terrible man," Fuyutsuki added.

" Quite a man," Lyarra remarked.

They watched the joust unfold. Clegsne was a brute through the core, choosing to impale Ser Hugh when they crossed blades. Even Fuyutsuki looked disturbed despite his background as an infamous samurai, who forced his opponent to commit. It was a good way to go, in the land of Kamakura. Beheading was not, or being impaled anywhere other than the stomach.

"I've never seen you before, Eastern man. " Littlefinger pointed out.

"Not interested in your ramblings, Western man."

Arya looked on at the gruesome scene in shock and slight fear.

Lyarra stared at the poor knight in horror.

" Never seen a man beheaded before " Petyr mused.

" I have plenty of times Lord Petyr " Lyarra answered.

Arya did not look so impressed, as a girl who had killed someone for the first time.

"Arya child, it's time for your dancing lessons. " Fuyutsuki cooed as he stood up. Arya followed her friend out of the seats, and back to the Red Keep.

Servants soon came onto the field and dragged the dead body of Ser Hugh away and started to clean the blood up

Suddenly, loud cheers started to erupt when Jaime came onto the field riding a white horse wearing Lannister armor.

A wave of sickness soon washed over Lyarra, she could feel herself starting to get dizzy.

Sansa tapped on her sister's shoulders to try to get her attention that Jaime was looking at her.

Lyarra soon stood up from her seat and immediately rushed out of there covering her hand over her mouth.

" Lya, wait " Sansa called out.

Jaime watched on in worried as he saw his wife rush out of there in a hurry and wondered what was she hiding from him.

" Constant throwing up, looking pale, tired all of the time, was she with child from the way she seemed it looked like it," Jaime thought before taking his stance on the grounds and getting ready to face his opponent.

Later On That Day

Lyarra was bent over her chamber pot packing all of her guts out, tears started to fall from her eyes as she suddenly started to feel lightheaded.

"Lyarra! " called a familiar voice. *Samara, thank the old gods*!

" It's alright I'm here " Samara cooed as she rubbed her friend's back softly in circles.

"Pregnancy sucks " Lyarra mumbled.

" I know but it will eventually get better over time " Samara answered.

" You shouldn't be here if Jaime finds you here he may " Lyarra was about to say but Samara interrupted her.

" Like that demon lion find me here I don't care I'm not leaving you " Samara exclaimed.

"You're a loyal friend. Thank you soβ€”"

*Blasted nausea!* Lyarra seethed as she spilled her guts out. Morning sickness was not what she expected with childbearing.

Meanwhile

Jaime was walking around the red keep searching for his little ice wolf and wondered where she wandered off to

His feet soon came to a stop when he saw that foreigner walking with the little she-wolf speaking to one another quietly.

"Hey you strange-dressed man! " he called out.

Fuyutsuki was. *not* amused. He might be an exile, but he was a royal by marriage.

"That's quite rude of you, Kingslayer. I may be an exile, but I am the husband of a princess.."

*Oh right, Kyōko Taira, whom I've not even met.* Lyarra told herself as she was listening in from her chambers inside.

"Forgive me,*Your Grace * but shouldn't your marriage be annulled after what you did?" Jaime taunted.

Fuyutsuki did not say anything. Insults from a pathetic lion were not worth drawing his katana on.

"Lyarra is due for an examination by the Gravd Maester. I would appreciate it if you just get out of my way, Lannister from the Setting Sun. "

"I would appreciate it if you get out of my way, Wisteria of the Rising Sun"

Lyarra laughed at the scene. She could not keep her silence much longer.

"The Rising Sun is a good place, the Setting Sun is a bad place. Let's go, Fuyutsuki. "

"What are you to Lyarra? A lover?" Jaime added.

"A close friend. What is Cersei to *you*? " Fuyutsuki replied and walked away from the lion Knight.

"The Lion of the Setting Sun
Took a she-wolf to the night.
The Wisteria of the Rising Sun
Helped her through a plight.

How grateful we all are
To the exile from the Rising Sun
And we all despise the dishonest
Lion of the Setting Sun. "

Arya sang for Jaime to hear, despite her terrible voice. The palace maids burst out into laughter as Jaime walked past, seconds away from slashing the wild wolf into two.

______

Lyarra was laughing at her little sister's silly song, she suddenly stopped when she heard the door open with a bang.

Jaime walked inside angrily and started to curse under his breath

Samara stepped in front of Lyarra protectively sensing the golden knight was in a foul mood

"I take it you were slighted by a *wisteria*? " she mocked.

"A flower dared to stand up to a lion, he will pay for this!" Jaime exclaimed.

"Didn't you hear what he said? Fuyutsuki is a Prince, you are just a King's Guard. " Lyarra pointed out.

" You disrespect him Jaime " Lyarra added.

" You must know this won't be forgiven so easily " Samara warned.

"At least you did not invoke Suguwara noβ€”"

She was cut off by Tywin's sudden entry. The old lion was not liking how everything was turning out.

" Father " Jaime greeted nervously.

" Lord Tywin " Lyarra greeted as well.

" We weren't aware of you visiting us today, forgive us for being unprepared can we offer you some tea and lemon cakes," Lyarra said gesturing to the tray of tea and lemon cakes she had laid out on the table.

"What did I just hear about, a wisteria taunting a lion? " he bellowed.

"My handmaidens, Lady Fraisine Westerling and, Lady Drizella Spicer thought it amusing to mock my lord husband. She is quite taken with my friend." Lyarra lied

"An exile who is a married man, how humiliating. " Tywin agreed.

"You can't deny that there is a certain charm to Ser Suguwara no Fuyutsuki. " Samara continued.

Tywin did not say anything else, thinking of what to do with these embarrassing maidens.

"I will not have my goddaughter associated with those women. I will see them at my solar later." he decided before exiting the room in a cold fury.

" You demon, leave " Jaime commanded staring at Samara coldly.

" No make me " Samara challenged.

" Jaime, stop it as I said before she's my friend and if you can't accept it then don't," Lyarra said coldly.

"She made you faint, Lyarra! " Jaime bellowed.

"You're as mad as Aerion Brightflame, now GET OUT!" Samara yelled.

" Maybe you should go and claim down for a bit " Lyarra suggested.

" Leave " Samara demanded.

Jaime seethed and stormed out of the room. It was nighttime by then, and he did not know where to go. He somehow ended up in the ravens' place, where he found a letter addressed to his father.

" The princess of ice and fire keep her close by for war will soon start to spawn "

Jaime stared at the note in confusion and wondered who this princess of ice and wife was and why was this person soon important for his father to look after.

The golden knight stared at the note again and again not getting any sense of it.

" War shall spawn " Jaime repeated over and over thinking if there was any truth to it.
