Chapter Thirty Eight : Small Talks

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  One week later

Masato was scratching his head

How could he convince his guilt-stricken brother to return home? That man may have sent the letter to Kyoko, but it did nothing to appease his sister. It was only thanks to his mother's ring that his sister could stillย  feel the bond. *If you do not return sooner, I will haunt you in your dreams until you finally learn your lesson*!

The question was, what lesson could a ghost like him teach a living, breathing exile?

He had no choice but to watch and let things happen; the sun goddess had forbidden him from leaving the spirit world. *How cruel of you, Your Holiness*

Even more frustrating for him was that he disappeared into Asshari, again!

*Blasted good-brother, what draws you to that wretched city?*

And he returned with a special, silver cloak.

That garment cost a fortune, how did he acquire that? Thr cloak could do one thing, cast an illusion so powerful it hides whoever wears it, and even stops anyone outside the cloak from feeling their presence.

It Fuyutsuki needed it so badly, something in Westeros must be going on.

As Lyarra was standing out on the terrance staring out at the open blue sea lost in her own thoughts, one thing she loved about her and Jaime's chamber it has a beautiful view of the narrow sea.

As she continued to stared out at space, footsteps approach behind her and suddenly a pair of warm big hands wrapped around her waist.

Lyarra signed and knew immediately it was Jaime from the way he would touch her she would always feel a spark erupt throughout her when he was close to her.

" Are you alright my love " Jaime whispered as he held her aganist him closely.

" Just thinking " Lyarra responded.

โ€œThinking of what? " Jaime asked. He was determined to get to the bottom of this mystery. That and he heard from Cersei's spies that a certain someone had snuck into the Red Keep with a silver cloak in his hands.

" Just of some things " Lyarra answered.

โ€œLike how your hands remain unburnt after you placed the dragon egg in the flames? Things have truly turned strange these past few days. "

" Jaime, I honestly don't know what came over me, for some reason when I picked up the egg I felt that it was alive somehowย  " Lyarra exclaimed.

" Alive, Lya are you feeling well " Jaime questioned staring at her oddly.

" I am not mad, I know what I felt " Lyarra exclaimed.

" They're stone cold eggs " Jaime remarked.

" You don't understand" Lyarra signed.

โ€œPycelle can determine if you've truly lost it. The Starks are not known to suddenly resist flames".

" I am not mad Jaime, you just don't understand me and never will " Lyarra yelled yanking herself out of his arms.

" Not that you bother to try, you're always running off to her " Lyarra hissed heading back inside and soon stormed out the room.

Jaime did not understand what just happened. He simply wanted to ask his little ice wolf what was wrong with her, but she simply lashed out at him. Something was truly up, and he needed to talk to someone.

โ€œSuguwara! "

No answer. The foreigner knew about this best, and he was sure that he was the same man who brought the cloak.

Fuyutsuki soon appeared, having emerged from the godswood. He was surprised to hear his surname bring called, especially by Jaime โ€œLion of the Setting Sun" Lannister.

โ€œSer Jaime, what can I do for you? "

โ€œIt's about Lyarra. I know you are close to her, so could you please tell me what has come over her?"

โ€œNothing. "

โ€œNothing?! Lyarra has been throwing up in the mornings, and she refuses to see the Grand Maesterโ€”"

โ€œEverybody despises Pycelle except for your sister."

โ€œLyarra has also been feeling tired more often. Look, I know I mentioned that you may have caused her to faint that one time, but I have a feeling that she is with child. "

โ€œOh."

Jaime did not, and would never get a response frim this man. He watched the foreigner lift up his robe, walking away silently.

" I may ask Lady Samara instead. This crow is silent as stone! " Jaime thought

ย

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  _______

Someone was going to lose his head and someone was emerging unburnt. A man was to shield a city with green fire, and a woman was to birth the Spring's Prince. A boy was to know all, another to be a warrior, a girl was to love a lion and a mother would die in her homeland.

Samara quickly composed herself before anyone could spรธt her gaze. She almost forgot something she had also seen

A lioness was to lose everything, a dragon in the east was about to give birth to twins.

All this was overwhelming for the young sorceress and wondered what to do with this information.

The young sorceress knew Lord Stark was almost close to uncovering the truth about the prince's and princess parentage and would try to do the right thing.

War would soon arrive to the south and Samara wanted to be far gone before it happened.

She walked down the Red Keep 's halls, making sure that the coast was clear. She had intended to borrow a certain necklace from a certain someone, and it was best done at night, if only a mockingbird was not acting like an owl.

โ€œGood evening, Lady Samara, what has been troubling you? "he asked slyly.

โ€œNothing, My Lord. I simply can't sleep."

โ€œThe best plots are often conceived when the wolves howl. Pray tell me that you are not intending to steal someone away. "

Samara simply narrowed her eyes at Lord Baelish; she loathed him.

โ€œI have an appointment with someone, may I be excused? "

She did not have to say that, but she had to tread carefully.

Lord Baelish watched her go, wondering who would want to see that lady from Asshari. He secretly followed her, until he heard a familiar voice coming from the balcony.

โ€œโ€ฆ bring giant crows to the Capital? "

โ€œYes. Thue viper's nest is not safe for Lya anymore."

โ€œThe only way to leaveย  here is to contact my brother, Shigure. He isโ€ฆ not so easy to persuade. "

โ€œNot if Princess Kyลko is involved."

The sly lord walked away from his post; he had to tell Lord Lannister straight away.

As Lyarra was walking around the gardens with Sansa, arms linked with one another.

" So, tell me sister how are you and Prince Joffrey is doing " Lyarra asked.

" Wonderful, Joffrey gifted me this beautiful pendant and said only a queen like me is worthy of it " Sansa blushed showing her sister the pendant.

" It's beautiful " Lyarra smiled and touch it noticing it was coded in Lannister gold.

" He is so charming I mean before I thought he was a monster but now he's showing me who he really is " Sansa rambled out.

" Sans, I would advise you to be careful everyone isn't who they seem to be " Lyarra warned.

" Joffrey isn't a monster as you say he is, he is the most handsome, bravest, strongest man in the seven kingdoms, and one day I'll be his queen and give birth to beautiful babies with blonde haired " Sansa exclaimed.

" You will make the most beautiful queen there is to be " Lyarra smiled knowing she wouldn't get to her sister and just decided to agree with Sansa.

" I hope I will be and that the people will support me but the people seem to love you a lot here" Sansa mumbled.

" I guess it's my natural charm, they'll love you too " Lyarra ressaured her.

" I'm not sure I mean Joffrey says I shouldn't care what the people think of me and perhaps I shouldn't " Sansa said.

" Not everyone will support you or love you, but it's important that you care for the people and always put them first " Lyarra exclaimed.

" But the commoners aren't important I mean there just subjects nothing more, The Queen suggested I worry about the nobles and higher rank lords and ladies at court " Sansa repiled.

" Sans, the people are important without them who would you rule over, if you ever become queen one day you have a duty not only to your kingdom but to yourย  subjects to care and protect them for any threat " Lyarra states.

" But being Queen means ruling over the kingdom not taking care of the people, there's other people that can do that " Sansa defended.

Lyarra looked at her sister in shock and what she was hearing,ย  i truly have lost Sansa to that lioness whore haven't I

" Sansa that is not whatย  a true queen is " Lyarra spoke.

" You don't know what you're talking about... You're just jealous that I'll be queen one day and you won't be instead you'll live out the remaining of your days at Casterly Rock with Ser Jaime and one day he'll grow tired of you and cast you aside " Sansa snarled.

" Tread carefully sister " Lyarra warned.

" You know I bet it's true what Lord Baelish said, Ser Jaime probably has a whore who he loves and cares for more than you and can't stand to be with you for another second because you're unbearable to be with , beside who would want to be with a freak like youย  " Sansa added and with that the young red wolf walked away.

" Curse you, Cersei" the young ice dragon seethed. She was yet to be aware of the plans her mage friends had for her, and it unfortunately would not include her Red haired sister.

ย

Fuyutsuki had never felt anything positive towards Sansa. To him, she was an air-headed, naive little pup who refused to learn her lesson. If she did not want to head Lyarra's warnings, then she will have to learn her lessons the hard way. What he did not expect to happen to him however, was getting a little scolding from his wife when he brought the topic to her attention.

โ€œI may not want to accept that girl into my palace, not unless you come home and stay for good. I've heard stories from someone who really knows that girl. " she had said.

โ€œKyลko, Sansa is only thirteen. Do not forget that you were once like her."

โ€œ8 understand your sentiment, but if she is siding with that idiot Prince, I'm not having it."

โ€œWhich is why we need to get her away from the capital. No child should be under the thumb of that boy. He's not even the true heir to that ugly chair. "

โ€œAll right, but you have to respect her decision if she refuses. "

That was the end of their conversation. Fuyutsuki sighed, this was getting harder to deal with.

That and he didn't even know who was telling tales to Kyลko.

Was it Rickon?

Perhaps not. The boy did not know his language.

He dismissed those thoughts and continued whatever work he had to do. "Better blend in or else that old lion will come for my head "

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Later That Day

Lyarra made her way up the steps of the tower of the hand, the young ice dragon knew she had to have a talk with her lord father about Sansa.

She stood outside his door and knocked, the door opened reliving Jory, the swordsmen smiled at the young ice wolf.

" Is my father in " Lyarra asked.

" Yes " Jory said and allowed her into rh room.

Ned looked up from his paperwork, confused as to why Lyarra was there. She was supposed to be somewhere else, bonding with her sisters.

" Lya " Ned greeted.

" Father, Sansa has completely lost all sense to reality, The Queen is mauplatling her and turning her aganist us " Lyarra exclaimed.

" You know how your sister can be and I am sure once I speak with her everything will be fine " Ned answered.

" Are you so blind father that you can't even see what is happening here" Lyarra scoffed.

โ€œ Your motherย  begged me to let her choose her spouse. Sansa might become a good queen, Lya. "

โ€œA good queen? She doesn't even care about the common folk father! How does that make her qualified for such a position? She told me earlier that she would rather worry about the nobles than the people who actuallyย  need her the most!"

" And mother didn't let me choose my sprouse " Lyarra added.

โ€œSansa is still very young, Lya. Give her time to โ€”"

โ€œTime? Father, she's had a lot of time to learn about the world, and yet you let her get lost in song and stories! Now she can't even distinguish her friends from her foes. She won't even listen to me anymore."

โ€œHave you tried to consult Samara or Fuyutsuki about it?"

โ€œYes, and both of them see her as a lost cause. "

โ€œLya, she is doing well here. She had very few friends back in Winterfell because most of the ladies preferred Arya. "

โ€œExactly. They preferred Arya *because* they can relate to her. Sansa is a spoiled little girl who is too impressionable for her own good."

Ned couldn't believe what he just heard. " I should have let her train in defending herself, not necessarily in the physical aspect but in her mind " he thought

" Father, if you let Sansa marry the prince the rest of her life will be filled with misery ... Sansa deserves someone who is brave, gentle and strong, someone who is worthy of her andย  will treat her right " Lyarra states.

โ€œThere is a little catch ; Queen Cersei will not take this lightly if I break the betrothal, and it will hurt Sansa too. Would you want to see your sister cry? "

โ€œI don't care about what that queen thinks! This is Sansa's life on the line, Father. Please, I'm already wed to a Lannister."

Ned signed knowing his daughter was right... " Alright, I shall speak to the king about this.

โ€œPlease do, for our safety " Lyarra mumbled.

Ned watched his daughter exit the room and rubbed his temples. He had always wondered if Robert noticed some rather interesting things about his children. None of them looked like him, but he simply could disregard the fact that Sansa did not have the Stark look, and yet no one suspected her of being illegitimate. There was simply something off about the royal children, and he needed to get to the bottom of this mystery.
