Chapter Ninety-Three

━━━━━━━༺ - ༻━━━━━━━

Elaena was in her tent getting ready for the battle ahead, Naerella and Daniselle were attending to her helping her put on her armor. The young ice dragon had her hair braided high and was prepared to splatter some blood. She had her sword at her side, ready.

After arguing back and forth with Daenerys, the young ice dragon had decided to take part in the battle that was to come ahead with the wise masters. She refused to remain back at camp while their men went to battle for them. She was not only made to rule a kingdom, but to battle.

Naerella and Daniselle were shocked by their queen's action to join the fight with the Ghiscari and Unsullied against the wise masters. Women weren't made for fighting only men. It was usual for them to see, they had assumed she would use her dragons and magic to fight her battles. But, this time she would use her sword to slay her enemies.

Naerella, her loyal friend/ advisor and Daniselle exchanged worried looks as they watched Elaena fixing her armor, her face filled with determination. They couldn't help but worry for their friend as she was taking a huge risk riding into battle with her soldier rather than remaining at camp with them.

" Your Grace," Daniselle spoke up, a small tremble in her voice. " Are you sure you want to do this? Wouldn't you rather stay with us in the camp and let your soldiers do all the fighting? You have to consider your children as well."

Elaena turned to her friend with a soft smile on her face. " I understand your concerns. But, I'm not going to just sit back and let men go into battle by themselves. I will fight alongside them as their leader guiding them. It is about time I place my combat training to the test. "

Naerella nodded. " You are a true queen." We stand with you."

The young ice dragon gazed at them with smiles. " Thank you."

Suddenly, the tent flap opened and in walked Ser Barristean, Jolothan, Cadal and Andros who were dressed head to toe in armor.

" Your Grace, it's time." Cadal said.

Elaena nodded. " Andros, could you take Lady Naerella and Daniselle back to their tents please."

Andros nodded. " Yes, Your Grace."

The Bravvos Knight lead the two ladies out of the tent helping them back to their own.

Cadal gazed at his queen in concern at what she was planning to do. " Your Grace, you don't need to do this. We are more than capable of defeating the wise masters by ourselves without you risking your life for us."

Ser Barristean walked towards the young ice dragon. " He's right, Your Grace. You are far too valuable to put cause. We can't afford to put you in harm's way."

With a stern look in her eyes, the young queen looked up at them. "I appreciate your concerns, but I've made my decision." I'm not going to lurk in the shadows like a coward while you guys fight. A true leader stands for her people, and that is what I intend to do.it is also a way for me to set an example for my children, nephew and niece."

The old knight smiled softly at the young dragon." Well, shall we then."

They exited the tent making their way towards the center of camp where the Ghiscari, Unsullied, and the Second Sons was lined up in salute, Daenerys was standing on the sidelines along with Ser Jorah, Arya, Sansa and Samara.

Elaena strolled over towards them in a powerful stance, her sword shimmering in the moonlight. The crowd fell silent as they saw their queen, poised for combat. Daenerys gazed at Elaena with admiration and concern in her eyes. Sansa and Arya on the other glanced at their sister in worry, not wishing to lose her.

On the other hand, Darrio and Sandor glanced up at the young ice dragon in awe at her boldness. They were still in shock at the young queen's actions to fight alongside them.

The Clegane soldier respected the girl even more than he used to. He had never met someone so willingly to fight with their men. Joffrey that golden shit ran away like some coward when his uncle Stannis Baratheon arrived at King's Landing hiding in his chambers leaving the rest of them to die. (in his defense, the other golden shit of a queen, Cersei called him back)

Tyrion the little lmp had stepped up leading the charges against the Baratheon intruders. The young queen was all but a woman, yet had the heat and skills as a man which impressed him.

" I see you aren't backing down." Daenerys said, stepping forward.

Elaena nodded, her gaze on point. " No, I'm not." I shall fight with our men, Daenerys. This battle is crucial to everything that we have fought for to help our people, and I'm not going to back down."

Daenerys nodded and placed a hand on Elaena's shoulder, her voice filled with concern and admiration. " You are a true dragon, niece. While I understand your actions I wish you would change your mind and stay by my side."

" I can't lose you." She added, tears welled in her eyes.

Elaena grabbed Daenerys's hands with hers. " Please trust me, Dany." I'll be back, it will take more than a sword to put me down."

The young dragon queen nodded. " I trust you."

Daenerys turned to Ser Jorah. " Look after her please."

Ser Jorah nodded. " I will Khaleesi, you have my word."

Sansa walked over towards her sister gazing at her tearfully. " You'll come back to us."

" Of course she will." Arya said, glancing up at her sister with a proud smile. Us Starks are hard to kill, Targaryens as well."

Elaena pulled her sister's in for a tight hug reassuring them she would return to them. She soon pulled away from them, kissing them on their foreheads.

She called over two Ghiscari soldiers asking them to take her sisters back to their tent and guard them. The two Ghiscari nodded obeying their queen's commands, leading the two young wolves to their tent.

Samara walked over to her friend dressed head to toe in armor refusing to let her go into battle herself. " We should get going soon."

Elaena glanced over at her best friend seeing she was dressed in armor. " Samara, what are you doing?"

" You didn't think I would let my best friend by herself." The red sorceress said, with a smile.

The young ice dragon shook her head. " Samara, I'll be fine."

Samara nodded. " I know that, but it's always good to have backup."

" I'm sorry, but what use are you to us?" Darrio inquired, glancing at the young woman. " You can't even fight let alone pick up an arrow."

The sorceress glared at the knight, her eyes began to glow a crimson color . " You don't know what I am capable of."

Darrio scoffed at the witch's words. " Look, we have no need for magicians now, only soldiers."

" Why, you little... " Samara was about to say but was cut off by a familiar crow landing in front of them. Within seconds, the crow shapeshifter Hayate stood before them in his human form dressed head to toe in armor, his steel sword attached to his belt. He had landed with a slight stumble, which had never happened before.

Hayate glanced at Elaena and Samara. " I hope I didn't miss anything."

Elaena shook her head and smiled at him. " No, you're right on time."

" Where's Fuyutsuki?" Samara asked. " He said he would be here."

Hayate shook his head. " Unfortunately, he can't make it for he's dealing with some issues in Kamakura."

The young ice dragon's eyes lit up in concern. " What kind of issues?"

Hayate stood there unsure if he should tell the young ice dragon not wanting to worry her. " Well, there are just a lot of diplomatic issues he and Empress Kyoko are dealing with at the moment . Nothing too big or serious."

Samara crossed her arms over her chest knowing he was lying to them. " Enough with the short answers; tell us."

The old crowd signed and let the beans spill. " Tywin Lannister is planning an invasion against Kamakura,"

Daenerys's eyes widened at the news. " Why would Lord Tywin be interested in invading the country? Is he after Me and Elaena now?"

" He will soon enough," Hayate mumbled.

After the Great Lion was done dealing with the Greajoys he would turn his attention to the last Targaryens.

" No, he's after me," Elaena said, finally realizing what was going on.

Daenerys glanced over at her niece with a confused look at what she was talking about. " Why would he be after you?

" He wants her children," Samara answered. " They're his key to keep the Lannister name on."

" Yes, even though his youngest son Tyrion had wed Euphraise Tryell and sired a child with her, he would never leave the rock to him," Hayate said.

Elaena shook her head. " I stole his precious heirs from him and he wants them back." And now Kamakura is paying the price for my actions. Lord Tywin will destroy everything in his path to get what he wants."

" We won't let that happen," Daenerys said, in a fierce tone.

Samara lay a comforting hand on the Ice Dragon's back. " It's not your fault, Elaena."

" He will soon turn his attention on us and make our lives a living hell," Sandor mumbled. "Lord Tywin is not a man to be crossed, we are all in deep water with him."

Daenerys stood there unfazed by the Clegane knight's words, not at all scared of the Old Lion. " We have dragons, 9 of them. What is a lion compared to a dragon?"

" He may have the biggest army in Westeros, but it is nothing compared to dragons." Ser Jorah added, backing up his Khaleesi.

" Let him come for us, we'll be ready," Cadal said, in a fierce tone.

A war horn was soon blown indicating the Meereen army was nearby. Elaena shook her worries away about Lord Tywin knowing she needed to stay focused on the task ahead of her.

A Ghiscari soldier soon strolled toward her with a white stallion. He helped her up on the horse, and Elaena grabbed the straps tightly and steadied herself.

Samara and Hayate mounted their horse beside the young ice dragon, grabbing the straps of their horse tightly ready to face whatever came their way.

" You should return your tent," Elaena said, gazing at her aunt.

Daenerys nodded. " You should bring Eddarion with you, he'll be a great shield for you."

The young ice dragon shook her head. " I may not be able to control him." He may burn the city down before we take it."

" You're right." the young Dragon Queen agreed. " We didn't come here to be Queens of the ashes. "

" Khaleesi, you must go now." Ser Jorah advised.

Daenerys nodded and walked away, returning to her tent and praying to the Gods they would be victorious. Two unsullied soldiers followed behind in salute.

Once making sure everyone was safely in their tents, Elaena mounted her horse, putting aside the thoughts of a naval war between Tywin Lannister and the Kamakurans.

She led her troops into the night riding on fiercely, the battlefield only centimeters from her. Turning around, the young Ice Dragon faced her army with a stern look.

The young queen cleared her throat and spoke addressing the Ghiscari and Unsullied " Today, we are not only fighting for liberty but freedom. For those who are wrongly trapped within these city walls. No matter what the outcome tonight, I will stand beside you and die fighting.

The soldiers around her began to cheer loudly backing her up, stomping their spears on the ground in salute.

" Will you stand with me and help me bring liberty to Meereen?" She said in a loud tone.

In response, the soldiers shouted their roars echoing throughout the night. With a look of resolve in their eyes, they hoisted their weapons high in the air.

"You have our support, Queen Elaena! They cried out, "For liberty and freedom!" with a clear sense of unity and dedication.

Elaena nodded, flashing a modest but determined smile. With her devoted army by her side, she knew the road ahead would be difficult, but she felt a steadfast power within her.

" Together, we will offer Meereen's residents justice and guarantee their future well-being forward to victory!"

The troops lined up, their determination evident as they followed their queen into the darkness, ready to face whatever difficulties awaited them. As they rode together towards their common destiny, Elaena pulled her horse onward, the rhythmic sound of battle cries filling the night air.

Kamakura

"This is a disaster! " exclaimed Fuyutsuki, after Hokuto read the latest letter from that old lion. Kyoko had been sent to a confinement room for safety reasins; without Masato in the way, they could finally have a child of their own.

"Let me guess; a declaration of war?"

Rickon, er, YoshirΓ΅, was around nine or ten now, his calligraphy brush in hand, and his face stern. Although he was not supposed to be inside that room, both Hokuto and the emperor let his presence slide, for now.

"He's agitated because we still support the Starks even after they were unceremoniously killed at a wedding. "

"I believe Hokuto mentioned cutting off trade with them two years ago." "

"Ah yes, thet old geezer was bold enough to use Princess Myrcella's words to plead with us."

"Language, Your Highness! ""

"It is fine; I may have addressed Captain Akira as a geezer during one training session. "

Fuyutsuki did not know which was funnier; Hokuto's shock, or Rickon's statement (Akira was mad at the boy for days). Clearing his throat signaled the end of that moment of levity.

"Back to business; does anyone have an idea how we should deal with this upcoming crisis? "

"Calling forth supernatural help is out of the question. I mean, the entire captisl is surrounded by a magic barrier."

"Rickon, Kamakura is not just made of the capital. The nation is an entire archipelago, and none of the other clan strongholds have enchanted barriers. Tywin may not know this, but he would be wise to start small; say, the fishing villages on the Eastern coastline."

"Or the ports." the young world realized. "He can cut off supply lines if he attacks the harbor first. We do have land travel, but... " he trailed off, lost for words.

"I understand what you mean." assured Hokuto.

"Send ravens to these clans; Hiragi, Sakamoto, Hakushin, Sangonomiya and Kaedehara. Tell them to bolster their defenses, both on land and at sea. Aside from them being regional leaders, they have control of at least one harborβ€”" (two, in Sangonomiya's case) "β€” which must be secured with additional reinforcements, and evacuate the citizens living in a three kilometer radius from the coastlines."

"And those living in tthe mountains? "

"They are pretty safe as long as the Five Coastal Clans can coordinate with them. Oh, and border control will be stricter. "

"What about the air force? We're the only ones who have giant crows."

"Ah yes, the Suguwaras are patrolling the air as usual, but given that the five other clans do not have such large armies, some of our soldiers will be sent as reinforcements. "

Rickon stared at the many pieces marking the map. Even with such a large army, he thought that everyone's resources were spread quite thin.

"Who's left to defend their homes?" Hokuto remarked after a long pause.

About thatβ€”"

" My sister has dragons," Rickon spoke up. They're ten times bigger than crows. They're big enough to ride and her aunt Daenerys has three of them who are big, especially Drogon."

"No, we are not using scorched earth tactics!"

"I'm not saying that we burn down the city; they're just there to scare Tywin. "

" Maybe, we should, " Houto said." I mean we could use them to keep the Lannisters in check.

"No, I forbid it! Think of our civilians. "

Houto shook his head. " Queen Elaena and Daenerys use them in Westeros against him. They could invade Casterly Rock. and use it as leverage against him."

" They are busy taking over Meereen now," Fuytuski said. "They have another battle to fight."

Houto scoffed at that. " So, Queen Elaena means to abandon us to fight her war that she started with those lions. "We are risking everything to protect her children's whereabouts and she can't even aid us against the Lannisters.

"The larger the army, the better... unless that lion is as bright as he thinks he is. '' mumbled Rickon

"How about we adjourn urn this council for the time being? I shall summon the Five Coastal Clans for further planning. Rickon, you will be part of this council as well.

The youngest Wolf glanced up at the Emperor in surprise. " Truly, your Imperial Highness? "

"Yes. I need you to communicate with your relatives abroad, ask how they are doing. If this war will come to pass, your sisters must be here. "

Rickon nodded. " I will try to get in contact with them." he paused for a bit."Speaking of relatives, have you heard any news about Bran, if he's alive? "

No comment came from the Emperor.

"Oh...I see." The younger Stark mumbled.

Fuyutsuki laid a comforting hand on the boy's back. " If, I hear anything I will inform you."

Rickon smiled. " Thank you."

With that, the young wild Wolf left the room leaving the emperor to his thoughts. War was coming to his doorstep very soon.

He would be damned if he let that demon lion destroy his home. He would slay the lion first before the lion struck first.
