Chapter Nine : The Welcoming Feast
Lyarra was in Sansa's chamber sitting on her bed while her mother was doing Sansa's hair for the feast tonight the young dove was determined to catch the prince's attention.
Her father had informed them the king had offer him an offer between Sansa and Joffrey at first the king suggested Lyarra and Joffrey.
But the young ice dragon wasn't not happy about that and The Quiet Wolf knew his daughter wouldn't do well with the prince so instead he suggested his youngest daughter Sansa to the prince.
" Do you think Joffrey will like me what if he thinks I'm ugly " Sansa spoke up.
" Then he is the stupidest prince that ever lived " Catelyn answered.
Sansa picked up the mirror and began to look at dreamily, " He's so handsome.
Lyarra and Catelyn rolled their eyes at Sansa foolishness, " Little sister you must be careful not everyone is who they tend to be " Lyarra warned.
" What do you mean " Sansa asked looking at her older sister confused.
" Not everyone you meet will be kind and sweet especially in the south down there everyone looks after themselves " Lyarra explained.
" Joffrey isn't cruel he's handsome and beautiful I bet he's brave and skilled like Ser Jaime " Sansa exclaimed.
" Your sister is right you must be careful who you trust " Catelyn said looking down at her eldest daughter.
" Are you jealous sister that I'm marrying the prince and you're not " Sansa blurted out anger at her sister's words.
Lyarra began to burst out laughing at her little naive sister words before speaking again, " I am relieved not to be marry the prince besides I wouldn't do well in the south "
" You know you must marry one day " Sansa mumbled.
" Well that will never happen beside who would want a highborn lady with freakish powers I am destined to be alone " Lyarra muttered.
" Lya, that's is not true you are very beautiful you have so much potential but instead you act wild and spend all your time with that Sourceess every since she's arrived here you and Arya have gone off the wailings " Catelyn exclaimed.
" Mother, I know you hate Samara but she's my best friend I trust her and she has been nothing but good to me you're just going to have to accept the fact that I'm not normal I'm not your perfect daughter like Sansa here " Lyarra bellowed.
" I will not accept it that girl is a demon and I will not have her in my home any longer " Catelyn hissed.
" You can't throw Samara out " Lyarra yelled jumping off from her spot on the bed.
" I can and I will I am tried of that girl she has turned you and Arya against me filled your head with thoughts I will not allow it anymore " Catelyn states.
" And you wonder why I never come to talk to you about anything because of this you don't accept the fact that I am different and you hate it that I'm not perfect like you or Sansa same with Arya I'm sick of being control by you mother " Lyarra cried out.
" I try so hard to please you but no matter what I do I will always be seen as a disappointment in your eyes and you know what I'm doing trying " Lyarra snarled before rushing out of the room ignoring her mother frantic calls after her.
" You should've gotten rid of Samara years ago mother now she's turned Lyarra and Arya against us " Sansa muttered.
Catelyn signed a part of her wanted to go after her daughter but another part was telling her to let Lyarra cool off and talk to her afterwards.
" Gods where did I go wrong with Lyarra and Arya "Β Catelyn thought.

Sometime Later
In the main hall, As The Starks was dining with the Lannisters along with the other northern houses it was loud and wild.
" Where is your other daughter Lady Catelyn I don't see the she- wolf anywhere " Cersei spoke up a tiny smirk on her face laid knowing her plan had worked.
" She is unfortunately ill your grace " Catelyn said lying.
" I hope Lady Lyarra feels better " Myrcella said sadly hoping she could talk with Lyarra more.
"Sweet doe, you might catch whatever plague the young she wolf has. " remarked Cersei.
Myrcella did not buy the ailment excuse. Living in the South had honed her dishonesty detection skill,Β not that she could use it properly yet. As a princess, she was told to focus on pursuits such as embroidery and singing, yet she paid attention to whatever the Small Council told her Jon Arryn all the time.
She was simply not seen.
A man gained power through swords and blood ; a woman's armor was courtesy, silence and beauty.
She has always been drawn towards the eldest Stark and her strange companion. Unfortunately, she could not be seen hanging out with the 'kitchen maid' ; it was not proper.
We were meant to serve the people, not the other way around.
The art of politics and good governance were not that simple, and she knew that all too well.
Seeing the tired face of the late Hand of the King signing papers, heated talks between Littlefinger and Varys, or just bits and pieces of battle strategies that she would hear fromΒ Lord Stannis saw to that.
She was hoping for a mentor in Lady Lyarra, and a new friend in Sansa. Both looked innocent, but she saw a sharp intelligence in those Tully blue eyes.
She too was a notably observant girl, yet untrained on the usage of her accumulated information.
Seeing that her mother was distracted by some conversation she was having with Lady Catelyn, she excused herself from the table and approach Sansa who was busy staring at Joffrey in awe.
" Lady Sansa " Myrcella greeted with a smile causing the Tully girl to look at her with a smile.
" Princess Myrcella forgive me for being distracted " Sansa apologized.
"It's all right; Joffrrey is undoubtedly handsome." Myrcella replied. Sansa was glad that the princess agreed. The only issue was thatΒ the smile did not quite reach her emerald eyes.
"Oh... You don't think Joffrrey' s handsome enough?" she asked, uncharacteristically blunt for such a tame wolf.
"He is beautiful on the outside. His character is... worse than the Mountain." Myrcella explained.
Just what did Joffrrey do doen South for him to he compared to ths notorious Gregor Clegane? Sansa wondered
Looking back at the Prince, she felt a pang of dread as the object of her gaze gave out his signature smirk. All sparks of a summer 's day were gone, leaving behind the face of a bloodthirsty CleaganeΒ to haunt her dreams.
"P-perhaps you're right." she answered and excised herself from the feast.
She had to find Lyarra, and quickly too!

As Jaime was leaning against a wall he began to look around the ball it seemed the ice wolf was running very late.
" Don't be too obvious brother " Tyrion said joining his brother.
" I'm not just simply curious that the ice wolf didn't show up " Jaime hummed.
" Well I heard from Lord Stark that she's ill but that's not the case I saw her outside strolling around " Tyrion said.
" Ah, it seems the ice wolf doesn't like big crowds " Jaime mumbled.
" She's very shy and doesn't like to spend time with others expect her family " Tryion began to inform his brother.
" Tell me more " Jaime pushed on.
" Well, Lady Lyarra plays the harp very well and they say she has the most angelic voice and is considered to be the most beautiful woman in the north " Tryion hummed.
" Quite interesting " Jaime smirked.
" They say she hides a dark secret and that's why she wears blue gloves all the time some say bad scars from an accident other says seem to think she has magical ice powers that she can't control and the gloves are enchanted to keep her powers at bay " Tryion mumbled
" Magic doesn't exist brother " Jaime snorted.
" You never know brother you must be surprised one day " Tryion muttered the little lion knew that The eldest Stark girl was special and unique than any other lady.
Many rumors surrounded the girl everywhere especially in the south they would call her The Ice Princess, Ice Wolf, Winter Lady, Princess of Ice and Fire.
There was something special about the girl and the little lion was determined to find out what it was.

Benjen had arrived all the way from Castle Black, and was met with silence. Usually, Jon and Lyarra would be the ones who would see him first but it seemed like the lad and the ladyΒ had other things to do.
Indeed, the lad has. He passed through the Snow's room, and heard pleasured sounds from the other side of the door.
You will miss that feeling, young ladΒ he reflected.
He had been a ranger on the Wall for so long, even he couldn't remember if he had even made love to a woman before that.
One thing he knew was that he had to talk to Ned about important issues.
As the watcher entered the main hall he made his way towards his brother who was standing in the back of the hall.
Ned looked up and a smile formed on his face when he saw it was his little brother, " Brother " Ned greeted with a smile pulling Benjen in for a tight hug which he returned.
" What are you doing here " Ned asked.
" Well, the Lord commander has given me a few days off and I figure I would stop in for a visit to visit my brother and my nephews and nieces " Benjen said.
" How's LyarraΒ " Benjen whispered wondering how his niece was
" She's fine just lost I don't know what else to do, I feel as if I failed her " Ned mumbled.
" You didn't brother Lya is just feeling lost and confused she just need time for herself " Benjen states.
" Well, Samara has been teaching her to control her magic a bit better but she still has fear over it " Ned informed his brother.
" She's staring to resemble Brandon every day " Benjen said with sad sign.
" I know " Ned signed sadly he had looked up and admired his older brother Brandon he should've been here today as acting lord with Shaena by his side.
The Quiet Wolf never wanted to be Lord Of Winterfell, once upon a time ago he imagined himself married to Ashara Dayne who he had fallen for.
He remembered the two of them dancing at the feast of harrenhall and sneaking off now she was dead and he was married to another woman that he loved so much and had his children, niece and nephew to protect.
" Where is my darling niece " Benjen asked looking around the hall for her.
" She and Cat got into another argument of Samara so she decided to skip on it " Ned signed.
" You know that Cat and Lyarra will never get alone " Benjen said.
" I know I just had some hope they would I mean I know Cat can be a bit pushy and overbearing a bit but she just wants the best for Lyarra as do I " Ned said.
" Yes, but Cat is trying to make Lyarra into something she's not Lyarra is not just oridnary high born lady she's special and doesn't like being control like Shaena " Benjen chuckled under his breath.
He remembered meeting the dragon princess the first time she was wild full of life and fire, Brandon was bestowed by her the first time he meet her.
" Robert has presented to me two marriage offers, Sansa and Joffrey and Jaime and Lyarra " Ned blurted out.
" You intended to marry Lyarra off the Kingslayer " Benjen exclaimed.
" No, you think I would hand my baby girl to that honorless man " Ned exclaimed.
" You can't refuse Robert requests " Benjen warned.
" I know but one day Lyarra will have to be married it's common for every highborn lady to marry and she's getting of age soon " Ned pointed out.
" Ned, she's not some oridnary girl she's a beautiful girl with magical powers what if she loses control in the capital or someone makes her upset " Benjen questioned.
" I know " Ned groaned out knowing he would have to find a way to get Robert to change his mind on Lyarra being married off the Kingslayer.
" You do that Im going to go say hello to my other nephews and nieces " Benjen said before walking away making his way through the crowd.
As Ned was about to walk outside to looking for his daughters Lyarra and Sansa who had disappeared along with Jon, he was soon stopped by Jaime who stood there with a smirk.
" You're pardon " Ned asked as he tried to move past the golden lion, Jaime stood his ground.
" I heard we may be neighbors soon I hope it's true " Jaime said.
" The King has gracefully made his offer to me " Ned answered.
" I'm sure we'll have a tournament to celebrate your new title it would be good to see you in the fields, the competition has become stale over the years " Jaime mused.
" I don't fight in tournaments " Ned replied.
" Why, getting a bit old " Jaime teased.
" I don't fight in tournaments because I don't want a man to see what I am capable of " Ned smirked.
" Well said " Jaime chuckled.
" I must say I give my thanks to you for offering me your eldest daughter to be my bride she'll make a fine Lady Of Casterly Rock and don't worry I'll take care of her through and through especially in bedΒ " Jaime smirked.
As soon as The Quiet Wolf heard those words anger began to fill his vision then Papa Wolf began to activate.
" As long as I am living and breathing you will never marry my daughter " Ned hissed lowly in the lion's eyes.
" The King has ordered it unless you intended to refuse his requests that would be treason " Jaime said with a cocky smile on his face.
" And sticking a sword in someone that you were assigned to protect is treason too " Ned pointed out.
" I am a man without honor " Jaime states.
" You are and that is why I will never let my daughter marryΒ a honorless, oathbreaker of a man like you " Ned snarled he pushed past Jaime and made his way outside.
Jaime stood there with anger in his eyes and began to headed outside deciding to seek out his bethroal himself it didnt matter what Lord Stark said the bethroal was official and there was nothing the Quiet Wolf could do about it.

As Lyarra was in the god woods sitting under a weirwood tree messing around with her magic, she formed a snowflake in her hand and stared at it itenstly.
" Lyarra, Lyarra " A familiar voice said causing the ice wolf to startled.
She soon made the snowflake disappeared and was greeted by Sansa.
" Sansa, what are you doing here aren't you supposed to be inside fawing over your golden prince " Lyarra hissed.
" I am but I don't think the prince is what I thought him to be " Sansa mumbled.
" What happened " Lyarra asked.
" Well, Princess Myrcella came up to me and she warned me that Joffrey was cruel and mean like The Mountain that rides Gregor Clegane I didn't believe her at first but when I turned to look back at him he held coldness in his eyes " Sansa explained.
" Sansa, if Princess Myrcella is coming to you telling you this then its true I mean I've heard rumors about the prince's cruelty " Lyarra mumbled.
" Perhaps maybe he can change " Sansa said.
" Little red wolf, in this word no one is going to change who they are especially in the south down there is a place filled of liars, schemers, thieves, hungry power lords all trying to gain control of some stupid iron chair " Lyarra said.
" But I'll be queen one day no one would dare hurt me " Sansa exclaimed.
" Sansa even Queen and Kings are dethroned every day no one is truly safe in the south not even the king and queen themselves everyone will want to strike them down and take power for themselves " Lyarra states.
" Trust no one because everyone is looking out for themselves at the end of day and they will strike you down before they let you strike them down basically the south is like a game of chess they're are players on the board " Lyarra added.
" Players " Sansa questioned confusion.
" Yes, don't you get this is a game of thrones basically they're are the main high players, medium size players, lower players and then you have pawns on the board but the game will beginning to change every now and then "
" Every one will make a move some people will survive some won't that how the game is and that's how the south works ".
" So basically the south is like a chess game where everyone will try to gain power for themselves but some will fail and some won't " Sansa mumbled.
" Yes, which is why when you travel down to the south with father and Arya you mustn't trust anyone not the prince and especially the queen " Lyarra whispered.
" The Queen but she's nice and sweet " Sansa
defended.
" That's just an act Sansa do you really think she'll give up her crown to you easily she won't she will fight you and win because she's more of a high experience player on the boardΒ Β " Lyarra exclaimed.
" We are new players on the board beginning to enter the game we are inexperienced and many will see us as fish to fry "
" So how do we get on top of the board " Sansa demanded.
" By playing, strategizing, being careful and most importantly survive that's the key " Lyarra answered.
" Will you teach me how to play the game " Sansa mumbled.
" I will but you have to listen to me and take my advice and put your trust in me because I swear it you I won't let anything happen to you I promise " Lyarra vowed.
Sansa smiled before taking her sister hands with hers, " Where do we begin "
As Lyarra was about to speak once more she heard footsteps approaching, " What are you two fine ladies do out here alone " Jaime said making his way towards the two Stark sisters.
" Ser Jaime " Sansa greeted getting up from the ground smiling at the Knight.
Lyarra stood up and stared at the Knight unfased by his presence, " Ser Jaime shouldn't you be inside you won't want to catch a cold would you.
" No I wouldn't " Jaime smirked making his way towards the ice wolf who held her chin up highly.
" You know I was disappointed when I didn't see you in the main hall this evening " Jaime said while twirling a loose piece of hair .
Lyarra slapped his hands away harshly, " I think we should have a conversation about boundaries Ser.
" Oh, I'm sorry have I made you uncomfortable I mean we are to be husband and wife soon so I figured we get used to each other presence " Jaime exclaimed.
" What " Lyarra said
" Oh, your father didn't tell you we are to be wed soon a month after we arrive in King's Landing " Jaime informed.
" Lya " Sansa said putting her hand on her sister's shoulder who eyes began to glow an icy blue color she felt nothing but rage fill her visions.
" Are you alright my lady "Β Jaime asked in concern as he made a step toward her she step back.
" Don't come any closer " Lyarra growled lowly the wind began to pick up all around her, the breeze started to become heavily soon ice started to surrounded her..
" My ladies we must headed inside a storm seems to be coming " Jaime said.
" Lyarra, Sansa " familiar voice says, Sansa looked up and saw her father rushing toward them.
" You what did you do " Ned asked grabbing Jaime by the night and squeeze him tightly.
" I did nothing a storm seems to be coming this way " Jaime muttered out.
Ned released the golden lion from his hold, " Sansa take Ser Jaime back inside I'll walk Lya back " Ned instructed his daughter who nodded before escorting The Knight back inside.
" Lyarra, what happened are you alright " Ned asked in concern.
" How could you " Lyarra yelled the wind picking up more around here.
" How could I what " Ned asked.
" You sell me off to Ser Jaime you said you would never get rid of me and now you have sold me off as common whore to the Lannisters " Lyarra hissed.
" Lya, the king has offered the arrangement to me " Ned explained.
" How did you find out " Ned demanded.
" Ser Jaime told me " Lyarra mumbled feeling herself to calm down the wind slow down around her, her eyes return back to their normal gray color.
" That bastard " Ned hissed.
Lyarra began to look around and saw snow all around her, soon snow began to fall from the school.
" Oh no what did I do " Lyarra whispered looking down at her hands in horror she hastily put her gloves back on and rushes out of the god woods ignoring her father calls for her.
