Chapter Fifty Three

In Kamakura, Rickon was currently kicking and throwing rocks around in the gardens.

The young wildest wolf was in a mood the last few weeks and seemed to be only getting worse.

His fake weapon had been forgotten thirty minutes ago, after Hokuto dismissed him from the training. Every time he failed to strike back at his opponent, he remembered Bran failing to get a bull's eye in archery practice.

Training was not fun anymore for it had reminded the boy of what he had lost, he had wanted to give up and didn't really understand why it was important for him to train; it wasn't like his skills were going to be used.

The young wildest wolf countuine to skunk around until a famaliar voice called him out, " little pup "

He turned around and saw Kyoko standing there, " What " Rickon hissed.

" I will not condone that tone little wolf " Kyoko scolded.

" Whatever " Rickon mumbled and began walking away pushing past the empress.

Kyoko signed and started back at the youngest wolf, " that poor boy....He hasn't been feeling great since his father's death. Training doss help him take his mind off his problems, but it's starting to lose its effect "

β€œWhy can't life be perfect? " whined the young lad.

β€œLife isn't a song, little one. I used to believe that it was when I was Sansa's age. " replied the empress.

β€œDo all ladies believe that?"

β€œNo. Some of them are forced to grow up so soon. I was quite lucky my innocence lasted that long. "

Rickon gave those words some thought. Do I have to grow up so soon, like the less fortunate kids out there?

β€œEmpress, can I still believe in fairy tales when I've lost my family?"

β€œYes you can. Hold on to the beacon of hope in those stories. You can't lose to the dark, not yet."

β€œSays the family whose words are β€œWinter is Coming"."

β€œDon't forget that winter yields to spring, wolf pup. Someday, your family will be together again."

With that settled, Kyōko left the gardens, while Rickon reflected on his new mentor's words.

Spring huh?

Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  King's Landing

A certain little dove was walking through the gardens along with her handmaiden Shae who has been proven to be trustworthy since then but still the young red wolf was still on guard around her.

She knew that Shae worked for the Lannisters and was sharing Lord Tyrion's bed it seemed or rumored to be.

As the two continued to walk around the gardens, Sansa soon noticed a winter rose hanging on one of the bushes and grabbed it.

The young red wolf brought it to her nose and sniffed it, she closed her eyes and stared to remember how Lya and her would always walk together in the gardens every morning until she had turned against her sister.

" I'm such a fool " Sansa thought.

Shae soon looked over at the young red wolf noticing the sad look on her face, " are you alright my lady " she asked.

" Winter roses were my sister's favorite flower back at Winterfell. She would pick them out and make things out of them…. she once made me a crown out of blue roses for my nameday " Sansa said tearfully.

" She sounds like a lovely person, I wish I could've gotten to meet her, " Shae said with a small smile.

" I was such a spoiled brat to her, I should've listened to Lya,Β  She was right about Joffrey and The Queen…. but I ignored her because I wanted to be queen so badly but now all I want to do is go home, " Sansa cried out.

" It's alright, my lady " Shae coed pulled the young girl in for a tight hug.

" She's gone Shae, her, Arya, my entire family is gone…. I'm alone " Sansa sniffled.

" You will survive this, my ladyΒ  " Shae exclaimed.

" I doubt I will, girls like me don't usually live long enough " Sansa commented remembering what Mastao had said to her.

" You will live if not for yourself but for your family " Shae said sternly, pulling away from her, staring at her.

" You mustn't show weakness here, people will use it to their advantage " Shae advised.

Sansa nodded, wiping her tears away with her dress sleeves.

Soon, a loud screeching familiar voice rang out…. footsteps soon approached towards them , they looked up and saw Joffrey standing there with Ser Meryn.

" Your grace " Sansa and Shae said in union bowing.

" You may go girl " Joffrey says dismissing Shae who nodded and glanced at Sansa nervously not wanting to leave the girl here alone but knew she had to obey orders and walked away.

Joffrey stood proudly and annoyed. "I wish to know more about something. I demand you tell me more about someone in particular!"

"Who would that be?" Sansa questions trembling a little by the tone of his voice he used.

" That foreigner Heretic and his bitch apprentice, Lord Baelish tells me that the foreigner spent months livingΒ  with you and your family in that frozen wasteland you call home " Joffrey hissed.

" I don't know much about the Heretic, our paths didn't really cross your grace " Sansa repiled.

" Are you lying to your king? " Joffrey said angrily.

" No, your grace I'm telling you I don't know much about the Heretic…. I am only loyalty to you my king " Sansa said fearfully.

" Lies, " Joffrey yelled.

" Ser Meryn, get an answer out of my lady will you but don't touch her face I like her pretty " Joffrey smirked.

Ser Merynt nodded and immediately delivered a harsh slap across the young red wolf's face causing her to tumble to the ground.

The knight began to kick the girl with his foot all the while Joffrey stood there demanding her to give her an answer.

A certain crow soon spotted a certain young red wolf in trouble and immediately answered the lady's pleas, Fuyutsuki transformed into his human shape and immediately grabbed Joffrey by his throat causing him to gasp out in shock.

" Let her go or I will cut your King's throat open " he threatened pulling his dagger out, holding it to the little shit's neck.

Ser Meryn immediately stopped and turned his attention to the Heretic in front of him and slowlyΒ  stepped away from Sansa who stood there on the ground whimpering in pain.

"Β  Step away from the king, heretic " Ser Meryn hissed, drawing his sword but soon his sword was thrown away from his hands and was pushed back with a powerful wave source of energy and was thrown to the floor harshly.

Once taking care of the child abuser, Fuyutsuki turned his attention to the Lannister bastard in front of him, Joffrey stared at the Heretic in fear.

" Please, please don't " Joffrey whimpered.

Fuyutsuki tossed him to the ground harshly and made his way towards the injured young red wolf.

" Are you alright, little red wolf? " he asked, staring down at her.

" Yes, I'm fine but you must leave now before they catch you here " Sansa mumbled, holding her stomach with her hand.

" We must go " Fuyutsuki corrected her knowing he wouldn't leave her behind again and this may be the only chance he had to sneak her out of the capital.

The sorcerer gathered the young red wolf into his arms before transforming into a crow taking off to the skies.

" Winter was truly tough and cold to the brim " Jon thought as he started at the frozen pathway ahead of him.

The young white wolf was currently preparing his horse up when a certain wild wolf made his way towards him.

" You all pack young lad " Benjen asked, staring at the young white wolf.

" Yep, " Jon replied with a tight smile glancing at his uncle briefly before turning his attention back onto his horse.

" Stay close to me…. beyond the wall is very dangerous, wild and magical in its own, certain creatures live there " Benjen warned.

" White walkers, really Uncle Benjen, they're just stories that Old Nan would tell me and my siblings to scare us, " Jon snorted.

" You never know Jon, the world is a mysterious place " Benjen commented.

The young white wolfΒ  nodded knowing to keep his uncle's words close to heart, suddenly snow began to fall from the sky and landed onto his nose.

" Winter is coming soon, " Benjen smiled as he stared at the snow falling from the sky.

" Lya loved the snow, " Jon said sadly, beginning to remember his younger sister.

" Yes, she did very much " Benjen replied with a sad smile remembering his niece.

" Do you think she's at peace" Jon asked.

" Maybe, but I believe Lyarra is still alive out there and well, " Benjen answered.

" But, they said she perished in the flames " Jon defended.

In truth, the young white wolf had prayed everyday somehow his sister had made out alive and was far away from Westeros, the lannisters and was living happily somewhere.

" Fire can't kill a dragon, " Benjen whispered, Lyarra was half wolf, half dragon more dragon at times.

The wild wolf had seen this first hand when Shaena, his good sister in law, was heavily pregnant with Lyarra and was set on fire by assassinsΒ  sent by Robert or what people say.

He had remembered hearing screams coming from the other side of the castle and saw Shaena's chambers were burnt to the brim but inside she stood unharmed and unburnt.

Most Targaryens aren't immune to fire, only the special ones, he had seen this as well in his niece many times when she would place her hand in hot boiling water and was unfazed by it.

The wild wolf had hopes that his niece had survived the fire and was somewhere safe away from here.

" I hope she's is alive, " Jon mumbled.

" Me as well lad as for" Benjen signed.

Β
The uncle and nephew duo began to finish packing for their long journey ahead, the wild wolf closed his eyes and prayed his niece was safe and alive out there.

It was nearly evening, Lyarra was walking around the gardens of the estate accompanied by Cadal who was quite charming but still the young ice dragon was a bit wearily of the man and wasn't sure what to make of him.

Since learning of her husband's lies and betrayal, she was quite careful when it came to men and wouldn't let them into her heart ever as she did Jaime.

" Love no one but your children "Β  Cersei's words kept replaying in her hand.

" So, how long have you been staying with Master llypio " Cadal asked glancing at the beautiful princess beside him.

" About a month now," Lyarra responded.

" Have you been to Pentos before? " Cadel questioned.

" No, this is my first time, quite a lovely city " Lyarra hummed.

" You don't recognize me don't you... I can't blame you, I mean I was wearing a helmet " Cadel exclaimed.

" I'm not sure what you're talking about…. am I supposed to know you or something? " Lyarra questioned, staring at the knight suspiciously.

" The hand of the tournament was thrown in your father's honor Lord Stark, I gave you a blue rose and defeated your husband Ser Jaime that day. I named you the queen of love and beauty…. you had big bruise on your check " Cadel said.

Lyarra stared at him closely, her eyes meeting him and instantly remembering those blue eyes.

" Oh, my god you're the mystery knight for the tournament " Lyarra gasped out.

" Yes, I was… it's nice to see you again, " Cadel smiled.

" Likewise " Lyarra chuckled.

" I hope you aren't angry at me, I didn't mean to harm your husband physically " Cadel rambled out.

" Not at all, actually I'm impressed no one in the seven kingdoms has ever been able to beat my husband "Β  Lyarra grinned.

" Yes, I know he's quite a man, " Cadel mumbled.

" He's not all that, " Lyarra scoffed, thinking back to her husband and started to feel anger rise up in her.

" Trouble in paradise, I sense sorry it's none of my business" Cadel said staring down at the ground cursing himself for being stupid for saying that.

" Not at all, we've parted ways with one another for good and I couldn't be happier about it, " Lyarra smiled widely.

" I'm sorry that happened to you especially now during a seriousΒ  time like this , " Cadel replied, staring at her belly.

" Don't be, this is the best thing that has ever happened to me…. I am finally free from his grip and never have to see him again, " Lyarra answered.

" Anyway, enough about me… How long have you been a knight for " Lyarra asked.

" For a while now… I started fighting at the age of 12, my mother was a dressmaker and my father was a fisherman… They both died when I was young due to an unknown illness. Growing up I spent my time on the streets trying to get by until one day I meet a man named Harry the leader of a powerful fighting army called the Golden company, he raised me, took me and trained me I joined the Golden company at the age of 16 and later began to explore the free cities " Cadel responded.

" Is it true you guys have elephants? " Lyarra questioned.

" Yes, we do but it's not all of that… it's not as cool as dragons " Cadel replied, staring at the young ice dragon wondering if the rumors about her were true.

" There's been whispers around the free cities of dragons returning to the world, Master llypio refers to you as the mother of dragons and there's another mother of dragons rumored to beΒ  in Qarth at the moment… did you really hatch dragons ? '' Cadel added.

" Yes, I did, " Lyarra mumbled.

Cadal smiled at the reply. He had always been fascinated with dragons, and to think he actually had a chance to see them for real? Oh, what a lucky day!

"Β  Wow, you are truly something else Lyarra Stark " Cadal states.

" And you as well Cadal of Braavos" Lyarra smiled.

The two continued to walk through the gardens together unaware they were being watched in the shadows by a pair of darkΒ  eyes who were intrigued at what they just heard and would use it to their advantage.

Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β Β  Stark Camp

Jaime was spending what he would call jail time unfit for a man of his status. Those Insolent wolves and that heretic took my Lya away from me, said a voice in his mind.

The only solace he could find in the prison was the company of his little cousins, Martyn and William Lannister.

β€œWhat was Lya like?" asked the latter.

β€œShe was a sweet soul, very beautiful and good at fβ€”" he caught himself. Carnal matters were not a topic for the children.

β€œGood at what? " added Martyn.

β€œGood at… flower arrangements!" Jaime corrected himself.

β€œMost ladies can do that." William pointed out.

β€œHers are especially good. You can find exotic flowers in her work, and no other lady can get her hands on those."

Martyn and William looked at each other, suspicious of their cousin's tale.

β€œWhat kind of flowers does she arrange?"

Jaime tried not to show his shame for lying to his cousins. He gave the question some thought, and came up with a perfect idea.

β€œBlood cherry blossoms. They're unique to Kamakura, a nation in Essos."

The cousins seemed to be placated at that explanation, but they were interrupted by the arrival of Robb Stark and a few guards of his.

" Ah, your grace, what can we do for you? " Jaime mocked.

The young wolf didn't answer the kingslayer but instead ordered his guards to take Martyn and William out of the cell and to place into another one opposite from their cousin.

" Smart move, your grace though you must know it only takes one golden lion to hunt down a pack of wolves " Jaime teased.

" Yes, it does, my sister was sadly unfortunately to be hunted down by the old lion " Robb commented.

" My family had nothing to do with Lyarra's death,if anything it was probably the Heretic's who killed her '' Jaime snarled back.

" Lannister soldiers were seen in the stormlands a few days prior before my sister's death and set the inn on fire on orders of your father" Robb said.

" What reason would my father have as into killingΒ  Lyarra " Jaime said.

"Β  Maybe it wasn't him, perhaps it was The Queen, your lover, she probably got jealous of Lyarra and killed her to get her out of the way " Robb states slamming the cage door closed and walking away.

The golden lion sat there in silence playingΒ  the young wolf's words in his head over and over again, " You're mine Jaime and I will not let anyone come in between us " Cersei had once said to him.

Jaime felt his heart beginning to drop and started to suspect that his sister played a role in the fire but then again shocked the thoughts from his head not expecting his sweet sister to do a thing like that.

Once again the golden lion was being clawed deep by sister and didn't know how to break free but one day would finally see through his sister's lies.
