Chapter Fifty Seven
A certain young lioness was in awe at the scenery around her, Mother was wrong Dorne isn't some sand wasteland it's beautiful and to think this would be her home one day.
The young princess was quite happy that Martell's has accepted her offer and was excited to meet her bethroal Prince Trystane.
It had been a few weeks since she left King's Landing and sailed to Dorne leaving behind her family through the only family she missed was her uncle Tryion and her sweet brother Tommen, but not her mother.
How she wished she could've taken him with her, but her mother refused claiming she didn't want those poisonous snakes taking another one of her golden cubs from her.
Her mother wasn't happy about her bethroal and was quite angry that she had left home to be married to a Martell.
House Lannister and House Martell had a tense relationship, since the death of Princess Elia's children.
She had no other regrets other than that, the young princess always felt quite lost in King's Landing and wanted more for her life than to stay in the capital with her mad king of a brother.
βI hope and pray to the Seven that Sansa and Arya are safe. I also hope to correspond with Kamakura again, using my alliance with Dorne. I can't stand my brother as king. " she told herself.
Β
The carriage soon came to a stop, the young lioness started to feel herself and began to sweat about meeting The Martell's especially her betrothal and wanted nothing more to make a good impression on them.
Fixing her golden hair last-minute ahe took her first step into the sands, her head looking down due to the blinding sunlight.Β She stepped into the entrance of Sunspear, finally meeting the Martell's in their orange garbs.
βMay i present Princess Myrcella of the Houses Baratheon and Lannister, the βGolden Diplomat" as the small folk of King's Landing called her. " spoke Areo Hotah, the Ruling Prince 'a personal guard.
Myrcella curried, and looked around. The castle was magnificent, and the air was fresh. She could feel that someone was watching over her, but she did not mind.
βWelcome to Sunspear, Your Highness. We are honored to have you here. May the alliance you forged last through time. spoke Prince Trystane.
βI feel the same, Prince Trystane. You may call me Myrcella."
Three girls in light armor giggled softly, watching the blonde girl try to hide her blush. It seemed like their trueborn cousin had charmed the little scheming cub.
βLet me introduce you to my house. I am Doran Martell, the incumbent Prince of Dorne. To my left is my daughter and heir, Princess Arianne. My son, Quentyn is currently fostering with the Ironwood, and my second son, Trystane, is betrothed. To my right is my brother Oberyn and his paramour Ellaria Sand. Their daughters; Obara, Nymeria, Tyene, Sarella, Elia Obella, Dorea and Loreza Sand. They are collectively known as the Sand Snakes. . " he explained.
Myrcella could almost eat the sun from shock. There are so many, and I get to have new friends too. If only SansaΒ and Arya were here.
Arianne and Nymeria immediately approached the young cub, ushering her into the castle. Trystane followed behind them while the three youngest Sand Snakes teased him to no end.
βTrystane and Myrcella, sitting on a treeβ¦ K-~I-s-s-i-n-g~! "
βHey, stop it all of you! You're spending a little too much time with your father for your own good." Ellaria remarked in good humor.
Both Trystane and Myrcella laughed at the joke. For now, politics was set aside and new friendships were blooming in the sands of Dorne.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Meanwhile
At the Stark camp, chaos erupted when word got out the kingslayer had escaped from his cage well more like freed.
The young wolf was in rage at the news and knew exactly who was responsible for it, he marked his way to his mother's text along with Lord Karstark.
He entered the tent and saw his mother looking at him, guilt laid in her eyes but he was hoping it wasn't true.
" Please tell me it isn't true " Robb asked..
" I'm sorry, " Catelyn whispered, staring at her son.
" Why? " Robb demanded staring at his mother coldly.
" For Sansa " Catelyn responded.
" -You betrayed me " The young wolf growled causing the Tully mother to flinch a bit.
" No! " Catelyn exclaimed.
" You knew I would not allow it and you did it anyway, '' Robb responded.
" Bran is aΒ captive in Winterfell, Sansa is captive in King's Landing, Rickon is good off nowhere with that heretic, Lyarra andΒ Arya are lost across the narrow sea " Catelyn exclaimed.
" l have six children, and only one of them is free '' Catelyn said tearfully, wanting nothing more for all of her children to return to her back to the way they were before the Lannisters and those heretics came to Winterfell ruining their lives.
" l lost one son fighting by your son's side, l lost another to the Kingslayer, strangled with a chain " Lord Karstark spoke up.
" You commit treason because your children are prisoners? " He questioned, staring at her in disbelief.
" l would carve out my heart
and offer it to the Father,if he would let my sons wake from their graves and step into a prison cell " Lord Karstark exclaimed.
" IΒ grieve for your sons, my lord " Catelyn said.
" IΒ don't want your grief, l want my vengeance and you stole it from me " Lord Karstark hissed staring at Lady Stark darkly.
" Killing Jaime Lannister would not buy life for your children but returning him to King's Landing may buy life for mine " Catelyn responded.
" Jaime Lannister has played you for a fool, You'Ξ½e weakened our position, You'Ξ½e brought discord into our camp and you did it all behind my back " Robb said.
" Make sure she's guarded day and night" -Robb ordered a guard that was positioned outside the tent.
" Robb " Catelyn cried out trying to reach for her son but he refused her touch.
Lord Karstark soon left the tent to cool off for a bit, Robb was about to leave until Catelyn said something.
"Β What is all of thisΒ fighting worth if it isn't for them " Catelyn spoke up.
" It's more than that mother I told you, this isn't just about them it's about the future of the North and the northern people " Robb said, glancing at his mother.
" Your siblings are of the north," Catelyn reminded her son.
" Yes except for Lyarra she's a Lannister now the kingslayer wife not a Stark nor of the north anymore " Robb reminded her mother.
" She is your sister and my daughter, it doesn't matter who she's married to, she will always be a Stark, how can you say such a thing like that? " Catelyn said in shock at her son's words.
" Mother, when are you going to wake up and realize Lya isn't a Stark anymore, she's married to the enemy's family and carrying the kingslayer's child the enemy's childΒ " Robb exclaimed.
"No, It's her child not the kingslayer childβ¦. A Stark " Catelyn defended.
" A Lannister mother, a child that Tywin Lannister will no doubt try to make the heir to the north if something were to happen to me which is why I had to disinherit her from ever claiming the north and Sansa as well " Robb added.
" You would disinherit your sistersΒ in favor of the bastard " Catelyn yelled in anger at what she was hearing.
" Yes, I think the Lannisters will use them as chess pieces to try to reclaim the north for themselves if not with Lyarra then they use Sansa as a backup plan " Robb said.
" They are your sisters Robb, you can't turn your back on them " Catelyn whispered tearfully.
" I'm not but at the moment they're on the opposite side and I can't do anything to help them since you freed the kingslayer and now we have no leverage against the Lannisters now " Robb snarled at his mother.
The young wolf stormed out of the tent not wanting to speak to his mother anymore, Catelyn closed her eyes and signed folding her hands together praying that Brienne would succeed in bringing Sansa back to her.
What the Tully mother didn't know is that the young red wolf was safe and sound and she had made a terrible mistake that would come back to bite her in the long run.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Asshari
Samara was walking through the low streets of Asshari buying some ingredients for a spell she needed, when a certain crow flew down towards her and within an instant she knew who it was.
" Fuyutsuki" Samara greeted.
Fuyutsuki transformed into his human form and smiled at his sources. " Apprentice, practicing spells again " he said eyeing the basket filled of ingredients she had in her hand
" Yes, they're just small spells, nothing more, don't worry it's not dark magic, I learned my lesson last time from using it, " Samara said.
" I am glad you are staying on the right path, dark magic is very dangerous and can be very deadly " He reminded her.
" I know, " Samara mumbled.
" So, what are you doing here anyway not that I'm not happy to see you, does the great powerful emperor scourer need a blessing from the Lord of the light " Samara said.
" No, I am here because of Lyarra β¦. I sense danger coming her way soon, " Fuyutsuki replied.
" What do you mean, you said she would be safe in Pentos " Samara exclaimed.
" I hoped so but it seems enemies lurk around every corner for about a few week ago, a assassin named Sharkan was sent after Lyarra by the mockingbird Littlefinger, Hayate took care of it but I am afraid more trouble will come for our young ice dragonΒ " Fuyutuski said.
" Have you taken care of the little weasel? " Samara demanded.
" No, I am afraid I have other tasks to do at the moment but I shall handle it " Fuyutsuki answered.
" He still lives!? " Samara yelled, staring at her master in disbelief, the old him would've had him killed immediately.
" Yes, but not for long he will be rotting in the ground soon enough," Fuyutsuki reassured her.
" No, we can't just wait around and wait, we need to get rid of him now " Samara said.
" As I said, I will take care of it " Fuyutsuki said sternly.
" When, until he sends another assassin after Lyarra and her unborn children or when he successfully kills them " Samara mocked.
" That will not happen, Lyarra can defend herself very well and Hayate is guardian every second " Fuyutsuki defended.
" I'm not taking the chance, perhaps we can hire one of the faceless men in Braavos to do the taskβ¦. Jaqen would be perfect for the task, " Samara said thinking about her old assassin friend.
" You will do no such thing Samara, faceless men are not to be trusted one minute they're your friends the next they slaughter youΒ " Fuyutyski mumbled.
The emperor didn't know much about the faceless men except they were dangerous and not what they seemed, he had seen this first hand when he encountered one of them years ago.
Mastao had hired one of them to kill him months before his wedding to Kyoko and had disguised themselvesΒ by using his then bride-to-be's face.
" Look, I know you don't trust them but you can trust Jaqen. He is an old friend of mine and would never turn his back on me " Samara defended.
" Everyone is your friend one day before they are your enemies the next striking you behind your back, don't be so naive Samaraβ¦.the faceless men are a ruthless deadly organization they only know one thing which is kill it's their nature " Fuyutsuki said.
" Jaqen isn't like that, you are judging before you have even met him" Samara said.
" Samara, you will let this go " Fuyutsuki said, raising his voice as he stared at her.
" Yes, master " Samara whispered, staring down at the ground.
The sorcerer signed feeling bad about yelling at his Socuresss, heΒ pulled his apprentice in for a tight hug.
" I'm sorry I yelled at you, I am just trying to keep you safeβ¦. you're like a daughter to me and if anything happened to you it would crush me " He whispered.
Samara lifted her head up nodding at him knowing he was just looking out for her, " I understand and I appreciate that but Lyarra is like a sister to me and if anything happened to her I would go mad "
" Nothing will happen to her, " Fuyutsuki whispered.
" I hope you're right " Samara signed.
The two pulled away from another trying to regain their composure, " If you are worried for Lyarra then maybe you should go see her " Fuyutsuki suggested.
" No, I can'tβ¦. I promised her I would give her space to heal and I doubt Lya would want to see me, she hates me " Samara exclaimed.
" I have lied, killed, stolen but everything I did was to protect those I love but now I am paying for my sins, Lyarra is better off without me "
"Lyarra is a person who keeps grudges close to her heart. She'd neverβ"
βHolding grudges is one of Tywin 's strongest suits. Would you like her to go down that path too? "
ββ¦ no."
βThen stop running away, and go reconcile with her. I could do the same thing myself, only Masato is dead."
Samara watched her mentor walk away. Reconcile?
She contemplatedΒ what to do, before making up her mind. Taking her basket with her, she went on her way.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β King's Landing
A certain mockingbird walking through the red kept wanting to hear back from one of his accomplices only to be interrupted by theΒ Lord of whispers.
" Lord Baleish " Varys greeted with a brief look.
" Lord Varys" Petyr greeted back with a fake smile.
βVigilant as always, and just asβ¦ mocking, hm? "
βMust you crack those jokes, Lord Varys? I'm rather surprised you have made Prince Tommen laugh."
βHurmΓΈr is not my taste , Lord Baelish. What I want you to do, is rest your wings. It's a long flight ahead. "
" I'm not sure what you mean, " Petyr questioned.
" Stupidity doesn't look good on you " Varys whispered, staring at the mockingbird.
" Again, Lord Varys I don't recall what you mean now if you'll excuse me I have tasks to attend to " Petyr said and was about to walk until Varys spoke up.
" I know of your plans to try to assassinate Lyarra Stark and her unborn child, well already tried to but failed, though I know you have someone inside spying on her " Varys exclaimed.
The mockingbird glanced back at him, staring at him amused, " That is quite an accusation you are assuming " Petyr said, finding his voice again.
" It's not a theory, it's a fact, my spies have located yours⦠I received a letter from one of my birds across the sea informing me of your plan " Varys replied.
" I would advise you to stop this madness, and stand down or it will not end well for you, Lord Baleish, " Varys added.
" Quite many theories you are spreading around, you should be careful spreading lies in the south is very treasonousβ¦. you wouldn't want to end up like Ned Stark now would you " Petyr mocked.
" Ned Stark was not built to play around with the southern politics down here but I am no fool and you are no fool well I hope you aren'tΒ " Varys answered.
The mockingbird stared at the eruch darkly wondering how he found out of his plans to murdered Lady Lannistee and her unborn child.
"Is that a threat, Lyseni eunuch?"
Vary's expression hardened. He's trying to make me lose control now? My my, how interesting.
βIt's a promise. When the rightful ruler comes, your fate is sealed. "
He let Baelish attend to his βtasks", and pulled out a device.
βHe's not standing down anytime soon, Royal Crow. Better watch your back. "
