Chapter Eighty One

Β  Β  Β  A few weeks later

Elaena was training with Samara miles away from the campsite and in front of a river learning some new magic tricks from her friend. It had been a while since she had practiced her magic through had more control of it than before

Daenerys was currently meeting with the second son's swordsmen hoping to convince them to fight on their side. She had no interest in attending any more meetings for the rest of the day and wanted a few hours of peace to herself while her children were sleeping.

" Today's lesson is going to be a little different, this will be more challenging " Samara informed her friend, glancing at her.

" Are you sure I'm ready for that? " Elaena asked, glancing over to her friend.

Samara took a deep breath and looked at Elaena with determination. "I believe you are ready for this challenge," she said. "You have shown great dedication and determination in your training so far, and I know you can handle it."

Elaena looked a bit nervous, but also excited at the prospect of a new challenge. "Okay, I trust you," she said.

"Good," Samara replied with a smile. "Today, we're going to focus on advanced techniques for spellcasting. It won't be easy, but I know you're up for it."

With that, the two friends began their lesson, delving into their magic.

" This one is pretty tricky. It's okay if you don't get it at first"The sorceress said.

Samara waved her hands up creating a cloud of red dust around her and soon disappeared.

The young ice dragon's eyes widened at what she was seeing. " Samara, " She called out.

Elaena began to look around for her wondering where she disappeared until she felt a hand on her shoulder. Turning around she almost jumped back in shock when she saw Samara standing behind her.

" By the gods, Samara " Elaena exclaimed, holding her hand over her heart. " What in the sevens hells was that "

" Teleportation magic, " Samara replied. " Not many sorcerers and sorceresses have the skills to learn it."

" Who taught you, " the young ice dragon asked, staring at her friend in awe at her skills.

" No one, I taught myself, " The sorceress answered. " This skill allows you to teleport anywhere in the world that you desire."

Elaena's eyes widened in amazement. "That's incredible," she said. "I can't even imagine what it must be like to be able to teleport anywhere in the world at will. It must be so liberating."

Samara nodded. "It has its advantages," she said. "But it's also a very difficult skill to master. It requires a lot of focus and concentration, and if you're not careful, you could end up teleporting yourself into a dangerous situation."

Elaena nodded thoughtfully. "I can see how that would be a risk," she said. "But still, the idea of being able to visit my family whenever I want is very tempting."

Samara smiled. "It is a tempting prospect, isn't it?" she said. "But remember, with great power comes great responsibility. Teleportation is a powerful tool, and it's important to use it wisely."

Elaena nodded again. "I understand," she said. "But still, it's good to know that I have you here to teach me."

" Yes, as I said before I'm on your side and will never leave you again " The sorceress exclaimed.

Elaena looked at Samara with gratitude in her eyes. "I appreciate that, Samara," she said. "You've been a true friend to me, and I don't know what I would do without you."

Samara smiled. "You don't have to worry about that," she said. "I'll always be here for you, no matter what."

Elaena nodded. "I know," she said. "And I'm grateful for that. But I also know that I can't rely on you all the time. I need to learn how to use my abilities."

Samara nodded in agreement. "That's true," she said. "But don't forget that you have a powerful ally in me. If you ever need my help, just call out to me and I'll be there."

Elaena smiled. "Thank you, Samara," she said. "I'll remember that."

" Good, now I want you to close your eyes, " Samara directed. " Put all your thoughts away for a moment and divide deep inside of your magic.

The young ice dragon nodded, closing her eyes as she tried to connect with her magic; her hands glowed and she began to feel a chill winter breeze around her.

Elaena lifted her hands high letting her magic surround her all around her creating a cloud of blue dust around herself. "Am, I doing it right, " she asked, glancing at Samara who nodded at her.

" Yes, you got the first part down, " Samara replied. " Now comes the second part; close your eyes for a second and think of somewhere you desire then let your magic guide you to it.

Elaena closed her eyes briefly, letting herself be consumed in her thoughts and started to think about Jaime wondering if he was ok. She knew she shouldn't care what happened to him, he meant nothing to her anymore or did he?

Suddenly, she felt herself vanish into thin air and soon found herself standing in a small room. Elaena looked around confused wondering where she was.

Suddenly, she heard a door open and turned around; her heart stopped for a moment when she saw that it was Jaime standing in front of her.

Memories began to flow back into her head and soon felt a pang of nostalgia mixed with sadness wash over her.

"Jaime?" she said softly, unsure if he would hear her or not.

Jaime glanced up at hearing the sound of his name, and his eyes widened in shock when he saw his little ice wolf standing in front of him. His heart stopped for a moment,

"Lya ?" he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Elaena said nothing instead just stared at him for a few seconds before teleporting herself out of there ignoring Jaime's frantic calls for her.

Within moments, she found herself back at the campsite standing in front of Samara. " Are you alright?" Samara asked, glancing up at her friend.

Elaena nodded, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "Yes, I'm fine" she choked out, her voice wavering. " Can we take a break?"

" Sure, " the red sorceress said.

She turned around picking up her skirts and walked back to the campsite, tears began to spill from her eyes at seeing Jaime.

Elaena sat down on a nearby rock, she tried to compose herself, wiping the tears from her cheeks. Samara approached her cautiously, concern in her eyes. "Elaena, what happened in there?" she asked gently.

Elaena hesitated, taking a deep breath before she spoke. "I saw Jaime," she whispered, her voice filled with a mixture of longing and heartache. "I don't understand how it happened... I was just... teleported to a room, and there he was."

Samara furrowed her brow, trying to piece together the information. "Could it be some sort of illusion?"

Elaena shook her head. "No, it felt real. And Jaime looked just as surprised to see me. It's as if our paths crossed for a moment, but I couldn't stay. I had to leave before... before things got more complicated."

Samara placed a comforting hand on Elaena's shoulder. "It must be difficult for you, seeing him again after all this time. But you need to remember why you left in the first place, he isn't a good man and you can't let your love for him cloud your judgment."

Elaena nodded, swallowing hard. "You're right," she said, determination flickering in her eyes. "I can't dwell on the past. There's too much at stake."

With a renewed sense of purpose, Elaena wiped away the last of her tears and stood up, determined to move past it.As they walked back to the campsite she couldn't help but steal a glance in the direction where she had seen Jaime, a small part of her hoping that their paths would cross again someday. But for now, she knew that she had to focus on the task at hand and protect her children, family and people depending on her.

_____________

The following morning, Elaena made her way to Daenerys's tent along with Cadal and Andros. Her aunt had some important news to share with them, hopefully it wasn't anything bad.

The young ice dragon walked into the tent glancing up at her aunt smiling, but her smile fell from her face when she saw an unfamiliar blue haired man beside her.

" What's going on? " Elaena asked. " Who is this."

" My name is Darrio Naharis " The man introduced himself to her. " I have pledged my sword and the Second Sons to your aunt."

" Why, what do you want in return?" Elaena asked, staring at men supsiously.

" You mean us," Daenerys said, causing her niece and Darrio to look at her. " He has pledged his swords and the second sons to us. " I may be the rightful queen of the six kingdoms, but my niece here is the queen of the north, we both are on the same side."

Darrio nodded to Dany, he knelt down before the young ice dragon. " My sword and my second swords are yours, your grace."

" I'm hardly a queen " Elaena said, correcting him.

" How can you be sure that you can trust them, your grace? " Cadal asked, glancing at the young silver queen.

" I have a good feeling that Darrio here won't betray us " Daenerys repiled. .

" This could be a trap, your grace " Andros warned.
.

" It's not, " Darrio said. " I wish to help their majesties here with their cause."

" You see they have pledged themselves to us " Daenerys said. " I trust his words."

Elaena glanced at the man deeply, her eyes began to glow for a moment trying to see through the swordsmen's true intentions, yet was surprised to see he was being truthful of wanting to help them.

" He's telling the truth, " She said.

" How can you be sure? " Cadal asked, glancing at the young ice dragon.

" I sense it, " Elaena repiled, glancing down at the man still not fully trusting him, but trusted her aunt's intentions. She knelt down towards the men and whispered in his ear. " If you betray us, I'll freeze you." Darrio nodded, glancing up at the young ice dragon knowing what she was capable of.
