Chapter Eighty Five

Elaena was practicing her sword stances hitting a practice ice dummy she had created. It had been too long since she had practiced her sword fighting skills, and she was determined to get back to kicking ass soon.

She continued to hit the dummy venting all of her frustration behind her attacks and ended up cutting the ice dummy in half, blocks of ice fell on the ground at the impact.

" You could use an extra sword, " a voice said behind her.

She twirled around and saw Ser Barristean standing there glancing at her with a questionable look on his face. " Ser Barristean, How do you do?"

The knight glanced up at the young ice dragon with a small smile. " I am well, your grace. " I am more worried about you, how are you."

Elaena put on a fake smile and replied. " I'm good, you don't have to concern yourself over me."

Ser Barristean stared at the young girl in pity knowing she was lying. " You know your mother did the same thing." Try to stay strong when things went wrong, holding her emotions in.

" I tried to tell her it was okay to sometimes let it out, but your mother was very restrained when it came to her emotions."

" Could you tell me more about her? " She asked. " Like her early life.

He nodded, with a smile, and said. " Your mother was quite the adventurer growing up, she would always play pranks on her septas and sometimes convince your uncle Rhaegar to join her.

The young ice dragon smiled in amusement, not seeing her mother be a troublemaker. " Was she happy during her last few months of life?"

Ser Barristean nodded sadly at her and replied. " Kind of, she was sad that your father was taken from this world by the hands of your grandfather."

" But, she was so happy during her pregnancy with you." She wanted nothing more for you to have a happy life, having such hopes and dreams for you."

Tears began to well in her eyes at his words wishing she would've gotten to know her. At least, she had one mother who loved her. She began to think back on her other mother well Lady Catelyn, the two of them had never gotten along with one another and often bumped heads with each other but she had loved and adored her.

Her heart began to sting thinking how much the women that raised her hated and loathe her. It saddened her, she still thought of Lady Catelyn as her mother and always would.

" Ser Barristean, do you see yourself starting a new life there in Esoss? " The young ice dragon asked, curiously.

Ser Barristean shook his head and said. " Kind of. " Through, I don't miss King's Landing.

" What of you princess, do you see yourself staying in Essos for the rest of your life?

Elaena glanced at the knight unsure how to answer that, she had no desire to return to Westeros any time soon. Through this, she wanted to help Daenerys take back the iron throne and afterward would return to Essos living a peaceful life away from politics and danger.

" I don't know where I belong, Ser Barristean, " She said, in a lost tone. " Though, I do know I don't wish to return to Westeros for a long time."

" Why is that, princess? " Ser Barristean questioned, confused.

" Westeros has done nothing but cause my pain and suffering " Elaena answered. " That place is treacherous and I have no desire to ever step foot on that land again."

He nodded at her, understanding her reasoning for wanting to stay in Essos. " I understand your feelings, princess."

" But, you can't let fear rule your life, " He said. " There are always going to be things that are scary, even here in Essos.

Elaena signed knowing he was making vandalizing points to her. Yet, she had her mind made up about returning to Westeros.

" I shall leave it to you, your grace, " Ser Barristean said, bowing and walking away leaving the young ice dragon to her thoughts.

As Elaena continued to practice her sword fighting skills, she couldn't help but think about her mother and father. She knew that she had a sense of purpose, to protect the North from being destroyed. However, she had no intention of claiming Winterfell for herself. Instead, she planned to place one of her siblings in the position of Robb, who she believed was ruining everything their family had worked for.

Elaena believed that Robb was too naive and honorable to lead the North on the right path. She felt that if their father had prepared him better for the role, things might have turned out differently. She also blamed her moth-negatively influencing Robb, treating him as a boy rather than a man and always trying to control and take power for herself.

While Elaena felt some sympathy for Robb and what he was going through, she could never forgive him for threatening her family and betraying them by marrying off her daughter to the Freys. This act solidified him as her enemy.

As she swung her sword, Elaena's determination to become stronger grew. She knew that she had to protect her family and the North, even if it meant going against her brother. She would do whatever it took to ensure their survival and legacy.

Meanwhile

As Sansa strolled through the estate's lush gardens, she couldn't help but marvel at the vibrant colors and enchanting scents that surrounded her. Warm rays of the sun hit her skin. Princess Mellario, walked gracefully next to her, her regal presence adding grace to an already enchanting atmosphere.

Sansa and Princess Mellaroo engaged in conversation, discussing the intricacies of court life and telling the stories of their respective kingdoms.

The young Stark found comfort in being with her princess and appreciated her thoughts and her opinions. The Princess spoke with wisdom and grace as Sansa couldn't help but admire her.

As they continued their walk, Sansa's eyes were directed toward a bed of bright blue roses, the petals of which were a shade of red. Feeling the velvety softness of her fingertips, she could not resist her temptation to reach out and touch her. The scent of her flowers filled the air, intoxicating her senses, and for a moment took her into her world of beauty and tranquility.

Lost in her thoughts, Sansa began to wander to her home, Winterfell. She longed for the day when she would be reunited with the pack. Essos was wonderful, but it was nothing compared to home.

Princess Mellario sensed something was troubling Sansa and placed her comforting hand on her arm. "Don't be as, dear Sansa," she said kindly. "Your wisdom and strength will help get you back where you belong. Winterfell awaits their princess back.

Sansa smiled at the princess's words, knowing hope wasn't all lost. " I am hardly a princess, your grace."

Mellario nodded her head at the young red wolf and said. " A title doesn't make a princess, it's what's inside of you." You have kindness, strength, and beauty like a true princess."

The young red wolf nodded at the princess knowing she had some good points. " Do you ever miss home.?

The princess glanced at the young red wolf unsure how to answer that, clearing her throat she spoke. " Sometimes, I miss my children and wish I could see them again.

" Unfortunately, I can't, " She signed. " They belong in Dorne with their father.

Sansa glanced at the princess in pity imagining how hard it was for a mother to be away from her children. " Maybe, you could visit them one day."

Mellario shook her head, tears well in her eyes, and said. " I can't. I agreed with Doran that our children would remain with him seeing as they are dornish subjects.

" Perhaps, you could ask him if you could see for a little while, " The young red wolf said.

" It doesn't work like that, little one, " Mellario replied, signing." When I divorced Doran I signed all of my rights away and swore to never return to Dorne again.

Santa felt her heart sink as she listened to the princess understanding her pain of being separated from her children and never getting to see them again. " I'm sorry."

Tears fell from the princess's face thinking about her children. It had been years since she had seen them and wondered how they were.

" I wish things could've gone differently with Me and Dorian, " Mellairo said, sniffling. " I loved him and still do to this very day."

" Not all is lost then, " Sansa said, with a small smile. " You should go to him, tell him you still love him.

" I can't, Sansa! " Mellairo exclaimed. " He probably wants nothing to do with me anymore."

" You don't know that unless you ask him, " The young red wolf said, thinking of a plan in mind. " Sail to Dorne, find the quickest ship they can take you there.

The princess shook her head at the ridiculous plan that the young red wolf was suggesting. " No, I can't just drop everything and leave.

I have a responsibility here at King's Landing. Also, even if I go to Dorne, there's no guarantee Doran will want to see me or still feel the same way."

Sansa understood the princess's anxiety but could not help but rekindle a glimmer of hope for her. "I know it's risky, but sometimes we have to take risks for the things we really want. If you never try, you'll never know."

Mellario sighed, considering Sansa's words. " Maybe it is time for me to face my fears and try to work things out."

Encouraged by the princess's open-mindedness, Sansa continued, "And even if things don't go well with Doran, at least you'll have some closure . You'll know you did your best and can move on with no regrets."

The young red wolf's words echoed to Mellario, and she wiped her tears. "You're right, Sansa. I shouldn't let fear hold me back. I owe it to myself and my children to at least try."

Sansa smiled warmly at the princess. " You are strong and capable. And who knows, this reunion may bring you the happiness you seek."

Mellario nodded, determination clear in his eyes. "Thank you, Sansa. " I will give it a try."

As they continued to talk, the young red wolf and the princess began planning the trip to Dorne trying to find the safest route to Dorne. With each passing second, Mellario's hopes blossomed, knowing she needed to take this leap of faith.
