After two more minutes in the most uncomfortable position you could ever think of, Namjoon made me explain to him why I was getting punished.
"So tell me (Y/N), why are you receiving this punishment?" He asked after taking the bulky book off of me and leaning back in his chair with his arms crossed over his chest.
"I didn't listen when you told me not to get into trouble and then afterwards I tried to get out of getting a punishment." I stood up from the hard floor and kept my eyes facing the ground.
I needed to keep looking down so he wouldn't think it was a sign of refusal. I had to keep in mind that Namjoon used to lead a wolf pack, and in a pack, there was no questioning or going against the alpha or it would be taken as a challenge against his authority.
If I even glanced at Namjoon in a wrong way right now, things might get a little dicey.
"Good girl. You can go back to bed, but keep in mind. If this ever happens again things could likely be much worse."
He rolled his chair back over to his desk, picked up a pen, and started working on a paper.
"Um, Namjoon?"
"Yes?" He didn't take his eyes off the paper.
"Well, I just wanted to know why you were so heated about that wolf hybrid helping me with that man who was tormenting me. There's no way that you are just annoyed about that old man and me trying to get out of a punishment."
He didn't say anything or turned around, but he stopped writing.
"I really don't want to involve you in this, but if you so curious about it then I'll tell you." Namjoon shifted his chair to where it was facing his bed and gestured for me to sit down on the bed.
In which, I gratefully took a seat on the soft bed instead of the chilly floor that I was once on just a few minutes ago.
"That street that we were in, was the street that I used to have my pack on, it was our territory. It was the largest territory that any pack had, and we owned it all. After I left and other more destructive and relentless packs took over that street, it was more risky to walk around." He adjusted his glasses before finishing his story.
"It was so serious that store owners put up signs to try to stop people from wandering down the street when it began getting dark. That wolf hybrid that you met was probably part of the newest pack in that street. If he saw the dragon on the blade of the knife, he would have killed you right then and there."
"But why!?"
"That knife is fairly famous, I used it to kill many with it. I murdered other pack leaders, pack members' families, and even innocent people. I was known for using a dragon engraved blade to butcher anyone who got in my way. Everyone who is in a pack knows by heart what the knife looks like and who owns the cursed blade."
"Wolf packs aren't just a bunch of lowlife criminals running around, they are professionals of organized crimes. Anyone that abandons their pack was rumored to other packs and was then put on a kill list, anyone that killed them would be consisted a hero for getting rid of a dirty traitor." He spoke with a sigh.
"So, by making a scene like what happened today, I was putting you and me in danger?"
"To be blunt, yes, and that's why I was so angry. I'm sorry if I went overboard with your punishment, I shouldn't have gotten so livid. You didn't know about all of this and I was just stressed out." Namjoon looked down at his hands.
'I could have been killed by that other hybrid, Namjoon was rightfully worried.'
"Namjoon, I'm sorry that I wasn't careful. You have every right to be mad or disappointed. I-I really wasn't trying to be a burden." Just thinking of how different that incident could have turned out made my eyes water.
"(Y/N) don't cry. You aren't a burden, you just... just need to be more careful." He pulled me over to him, sat me down in his lap and hugged my body. "I hate it when you cry so stop, everything is fine."
The old Namjoon was back. The one that comforts me and makes sure that I'm well taken care of.

'Everything might seem fine right now, but if the guy in black saw the blade of the knife, he will definitely tell his pack.'
All I could do was hold (Y/N) close, tell her that everything would be fine, and shield her from any future inconveniences.
'(Y/N), why do you have to make my job so hard? At this point, I'll have to finally cut ties with my old past.'
I stared down to see (Y/N) had fallen asleep in my arms. I couldn't help but to stare at her adorable face.
"I'm willing to do anything for you (Y/N), even give up my life, so tonight just let me have this."
I placed my hand under her chin and lifted it up and delicately planted a short kiss on her warm lips.
