𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐲𝐚'𝐬 𝐏𝐎𝐕

As I'm sleeping I feel nothing but soreness coming from each part of my body, I tried opening my eyes but they felt so heavy. Finally I slowly lifted them looking around what appears to be a hospital room, looked over to my right and there Ryland was laying down in a chair asleep.

"Ry..." I Said, weakly then Ryland opened her eyes and sat up.

"Sonya your awake." She gets up, and walks over to my bed and hugs me. "Oh thank god." Ryland Said

"Mmm ow." I Said

"Sorry." Ryland Said, pulling away.

There's a knock on the door and I look over to see mom and dad standing there in the doorway.

"Sonya." Laurie Said

Mom and dad walked over towards my bedside and they both hugged me gently, I smiled at the sight of them.

"Oh thank god your awake." Jack Said

"It took four weeks but here we are." Laurie Said

"Wait what happened?" I Asked, looking at them.

"Sonya you were in a car accident." Laurie replied

Right as she said that everything started all coming back to me, the bright light that flashed coming from that car.

"Now I remember...god everything happened so fast." I Said, rubbing my forehead.

"Yeah thankfully you weren't injured to bad, your shoulder got banged up though." Ryland Said

"My shoulder did it-" I Said

"Dr.Montgomery said your shoulder was separated, and luckily they repaired it during the surgery." Jack Said

"Oh..what about my car?" I Asked

"It um yeah it got destroyed sorry." Ryland Said

"Great I've had that car since college, now it's destroyed." I Said

"Look you'll worry about the car later, you should just be thankful the injuries weren't to catastrophic." Laurie Said

"Your mothers right Sonya." Jack Said

"Yeah I know thank you all for being here with me." I Said

"Of course." Laurie Said, kissing my cheek.

"I love you, all of you." I Said

"We love you too." Ryland Said

There was a knock at the door, we all looked over and there was Dr.Montgomery standing there smiling.

"Looks like someone's finally up, hello there Sonya." Dr.Montgomery Said

"Hello Doctor, thanks for fixing me up." I Said

"That's my job." Dr.Montgomery Said

"Dr.Montgomery we were wondering when can she come home, since she's awake now?" Jack Asked

"Um we would still like to keep Sonya here for one more night for observation, and just to look over her charts." Dr.Montgomery Said

"Oh okay." Laurie Said

"Um Dr.Montgomery I have a question." I Said

"Sure." Dr.Montgomery Said

"What happened to the driver that hit me, are they alive or okay...just wondering?" I Asked

"The driver that hit you was discharged weeks ago, he suffered some injuries as well. But he's been asking about you as well, requesting if it'll be okay to speak with you." Dr.Montgomery Said

"I would-" I Said

"I don't think speaking with him is good right now, I mean you did just wake up." Laurie Said

"Mom I want to speak with him." I Said

"Sweetheart you will, ju-just wait on it okay." Jack Said

"Fine." I Sighed

"Okay then." Dr.Montgomery Said

I nodded then looked over at the counter, there was a beautiful vase filled with orchids.

"Hey who brought me flowers?" I Asked, smiling.

Mom, Dad and Ryland all exchanged looks with one another shrugging their shoulders.

"Oh I don't know." Jack Said

"They've been here for weeks now." Ryland Said

"Maybe one of your friends dropped them off." Laurie Said

"Yeah maybe." I Said

Dr.Montgomery did her routine work while checking on me, my family sticked around for a bit until it came time for them to come home. After hours I was currently watching golden girls up on the Tv, the door opens and it's one of the nurses that's been taking care of me.

"Ms.Sawyer you're up, finally." She Said

"I know right, I just wanted to say thank you for looking after me." I Said

"Of course no problem, and it's kinda my job. So how are you feeling?" She Said, checking my IV.

"Um I'm okay my head doesn't hurt, but my arm feels sore since it's in a sling." I Said

"Don't worry you'll recover real soon, now if I were you I'd get some sleep." She Said

"I will but hey can I ask you something?" I Said

"Sure." She Said

"Do you know who might have sent me the flowers by chance?" I Asked

"Uh I don't know his name, but it was a guy." She Said

"A guy?" I Said

"Yeah blue eyes, blond-ish hair..tall." She Said

"Oh.." I Said

"He said he was a friend of yours, is that true?" She Asked

Just based off that description, I knew it was Shawn.

"Yeah..he's a friend, thank you for telling me." I Said

"Of Course Sonya, now get some sleep." She Said

I nodded as she turned off the light and left the room, I leaned back on my pillow and looked up at the ceiling until my eyes felt heavy then drifted off.

The next morning I was busy watching what was currently on the Tv, I'm not exactly what soap opera it was but all I knew is that it kept me distracted until I heard a knock at the door, In came Dr.Montgomery.

"Good morning Sonya." Dr.Montgomery Said

"Morning Dr.Montgomery, is everything okay?" I Asked

"Yes everything's fine it's just someone is here to pay you a visit, is it okay if they would come in?" Dr.Montgomery Said

"Yeah sure." I Said

Dr.Montgomery step aside so the person could come into the door, in came a man who was fair skinned.
Average height, dark hair and brown eyes holding flowers.

"Sonya this is Adam Hansley, he's the driver that hit you." Dr.Montgomery Said

"Oh.." I Said, putting down my jello and looking towards the man.

"Sonya, there's something Adam would love to say to you." Dr.Montgomery Said

Adam slowly walked closer to my bed, but pulled up a chair. "Is this okay?" I nodded my head yes.

"Mhm." I Said, Adam sat down in the chair.

"Hello Sonya, first off I just wanted to apologize for what I did to you. I should have never been out on the road, my stupid decision almost costed you your life. I was only drinking that night because, I had only found out my wife was having an affair. And I'm not saying this as an excuse because it's not, I was upset and I shouldn't have done this to you." Adam Said

"It wasn't on purpose." I Said

"I know that but I couldn't believe what I just had done, all wanted to know was if you were alright." Adam Said

"I'm still here, breathing and kicking." I Said, giving him a small smile.

"Yeah but what I did-" Adam Said

"Adam you weren't the only one who made a mistake that night, that night I've made mistakes and the one I would love to take back was driving under the influence as well." Adam's brows raise "Yeah, your not the only one who was upset that night from someone you loved." I Said

"Sorry to hear that." Adam Said

"It's okay-I'll be okay, eventually." I Said, Adam nodded.

"Look at us a couple of heart broken chumps." Adam Said, I chuckled at that.

"Yeah literally." I Said, looking at my arm.

"But in all seriousness I really am sorry Sonya, because of you I'll never drink and drive again.." Adam Said, I nodded.

"Me neither, and Adam I forgive you..I do." I Said, Adam smiled a little.

"Thank you, oh here's the flowers I brought you..I didn't know which one to get so I just grabbed whatever looked pretty." Adam Said, handing me flowers which apparently are orchids.

"Thank you and luckily for you, orchids are my favorite so nice job." I Said

"No problem, oh and one last thing..I'm a huge fan of your work." Adam Said

"You-you're a wrestling fan?" I Asked, surprised.

"Hell yeah DX is my favorite part of Monday Night Raw, and of course Vince McMahon." Adam Said

"Nice to have a fan." I Said

"So when do you think you'll be back?" Adam Asked

"Doc said it could be a couple months, who knows what could happen when I come back." I Said

"Well take your time healing up, my friends and I really enjoyed you on Tv." Adam Said

"Thank you Adam." I Said, smiling.

Adam nodded then something went off, he looked down at his beeper.

"Oh that's my mom, I'm supposed to pick her up in a couple minutes." Adam Said

"Oh no please it's okay." I Said

"Oh okay I better get going, but thank you again really." Adam Said

"Nice meeting you Adam." I Said

Adam shook my hand then left out the room, I sat in silence and smelled the orchids which is always a pleasant smell. Everytime I sniff them, it reminds me of a simpler time of helping Grandma Sawyer in her garden when I was little. Sometimes reminiscing of my past is good, whenever you want to escape from reality especially where I'm at right now in my life. I've got a bad shoulder, and a broken heart still.
