Now I've been home for about a month now, for the past few weeks I've been doing the same routine.
Which is sleep, eat, physical therapy and sleep
again, I've had some good days and bad days, sleepless nights due to the pain.

But I'm in a good mood today because Amy is coming over to see me, haven't really seen her in awhile thankfully she decided to spend her days off with me before going back to her home in Atlanta.

I'm busy in the kitchen straitening up the area to the best of my abilities, there was a knock at my door.
I walked over towards the door and looked through the peep hole, then opened up the door and there she was.

"Hey Beautiful." Amy Said, causing me to crack a smile.

"Hey Amy." She stepped inside and hugged me "God I missed you." I Said

"I missed you too, the last time I saw you is when you were in the hospital. Thank god I'm off this week." Amy Said

"I know right, come on in." I Said, Amy picked up her bag and entered the apartment.

"Hey you got something to drink I'm thirsty?" Amy Asked

"Yeah sure there's a bunch of water bottles, gatorade's and orange juice..so knock yourself out." I Said

"Nice." Amy Said

Amy walked towards my fridge to grab herself a drink, I opened the door again and looked towards my mailbox, lifted the top lid to see what's inside and only found two letters.

"Any mail?" Amy Asked

"Yeah but it's nothing important really, oh wait it's for my car insurance." I Said

"Oh yeah what's it say?" Amy Asked, taking a sip of water from the bottle.

"Let's see." I sat down on my couch, opened the letter and began to read "Oh appears that my insurance company got my letter for compensation due to the crash, looks like I'm getting my money after all." I Said

"Yeah baby you know what that means." Amy Said

"Yep looks like I'm getting a new car." I Said, showing a half smile.

"Good I mean no offense you needed an upgrade." Amy Said

"Come on Ames I've had that car since I was 17, she was my baby okay. So many memories happened in that car, obviously picking it out with my dad.
Driving to a bunch of parties with friends back in high school, having sex in the backseat with my high school boyfriend." I Said, while reminiscing.

"Oh yeah." Amy Said, chuckling.

"Mhmm this is very bittersweet, I'm really gonna miss it..just wish I never got on the road that night." I Said

"About that I've been meaning to that, where exactly were you going that night?" Amy Asked

"Um..I just needed to get away from here, from everything honestly. In that moment my heart
was hurting." I Said, Amy moved closer to me and held my hand.

"Sonya what happened that night?" Amy Asked

"I did a really dumb thing Amy." I Said

"What honey?" Amy Said, I let out a huge breath.

"That night before the accident was Shawn's birthday and I knew that everyone was there.
And..I was drinking that night, I drank a whole bottle of wine to myself and I drunk dialed his
phone." I Said

"Oh I don't like where this is going." Amy Said

"The phone rang I wasn't expecting anyone to answer so I just left him a long voicemail of me pouring out my heart, basically saying everything I've been wanting to say for months now. And right before I was about to hang up someone picked up." I Said

"Shawn?" Amy Said

"No..it was Shawn's new girlfriend Rebecca." I Said

"Wait so it's true he really has a girlfriend." I nodded my head "Wow..so what did she say to you?" Amy Said

"Nothing she just asked who I was and like the dummy I am, I told her who I was. In that moment it's like the world just stopped all of a sudden, I can't believe he moved on just like that..." I Said

"I'm sorry Sonya, he's a guy I mean what can you expect." Amy Said

"Not this I mean..what if it's nothing serious,
Like what if he doesn't really love her." I Said, Amy looked at me.

"Sonya what are you talking about?" Amy Asked

"Amy he came to see me after the accident, he left me my favorite flowers..sure you might just see it as him just checking on me. But I see it as maybe he still loves me." I Said

"Sonya no." Amy Said

"But Amy-" I Said

"But nothing look don't be delusional, look hun I'm not trying to hurt you okay but I'm gonna give you some tough love. Shawn moved on he did, it's been three months and if he wanted you back he would have came back...honey it's time to move on." Amy Said

"I can't Amy..I can't just move on like that, I still love him.." Tears run down my face "Three months might not seem like anything to you, but to me it's still fresh, it's the fact that I still love him it's what keeping me from moving on." I Said, wiping the tears from my face.

"Oh Sonya, come here." Amy Said, pulling me closer to her, I laid my head on her shoulder as she comforted me.

A few days later after spending some much needed time with Amy, she had to catch a flight back to her house in Atlanta and now I was back all alone in my apartment. But today I was getting out the house, because it's physical therapy day.

Woke up right before 11 so I could get some extra minutes before heading out the door. Walked into my bathroom and turned on the shower water, took off my sling and quickly undressed so I could clean myself. Several minutes later I'm fully dressed and eating a banana for breakfast while I dial a number for a cab.

Moments later the cab showed up, exited the apartment and got into the vehicle. Thankfully the drive to the physical therapy clinic isn't so far, only 16 minutes. The cab driver parked the car and I gave him the fair then exited the car.

"Here we go." I Said

I walked towards the front door and opened it entering the place, the front desk woman Shonda was in today.

"Morning Shonda." I Said

"Morning Ms.Sawyer." Shonda Said

"I told you that you can call me Sonya, when you say that it makes me feel old." I Said

"Honey in a few years you will be, no matter how hard you try to get away from it." Shonda Said

"Oh come on you look great for 45." I Said

"Hey I'm 44 and thank you." Shonda Said, I smiled.

"So where is he?" I Asked

"He's here don't worry, go sit and I'll page him." Shonda Said

"Thank you." I Said

I walked over to the waiting area and sat in one of the chairs, there's a magazine rack nearby so I picked up one to read to kill sometime. After ten minutes of waiting, Shonda got my attention.

"Sonya he'll see you know." Shonda Said

"Ahh you called me Sonya, finally." I Said

Shonda chuckled at me and went back to her duties at the front desk, the double doors opened and out came my physical therapist.

"Sonya nice seeing you today." He Said

"Nice seeing you as well Ted." I Said

"Come on let's get to work." Ted Said

Ted led me to his office room where he's been helping me rehabilitating my shoulder. He's been really patient with me which is a great thing, and he's always making sure I'm not pushing myself to hard.

"So you ready to pick up where we left off?" Ted Asked

"You mean squeezing my shoulder blades for three minutes...oh boy." I Said

"Come on its just apart of the many phases of this process, now let's get this sling off." Ted Said, helping me undo my sling.

"When can we get to phase 2 already?" I Asked

"It's gonna take some time and really it's up to your body, Sonya like I said it's gonna take some time for that shoulder to heal." Ted Said

"I know Ted." I Said, he patted my other shoulder gently.

"Alright now come on, let's get this done." Ted Said

"Mhm." I Said

About an hour later after my session was over, I thanked Ted and said goodbye to Shonda. As I walked outside the clinic, my stomach started to rumble a bit.

"God I'm starving..what should I eat though." I Said

I looked around the area which had very minimal choices, there was a Subway's restaurant nearby,
and a Golden Corral a few blocks away but is it
worth the walk is the real question. As I'm being decisive over what to eat for lunch, I hear my name being called in the distance.

"Sonya!, Sonya Hey it's me.." He Said

"Well I'll be damned, Bobby." I Said, ran over to him and gave him a huge hug.

"God I knew it was you, wow let me take a look at ya." We pulled away, he looked me up and down.
"Ain't you a sight for sore eyes." Bobby Said

"Oh Bobby please I'm still the same old me." I Said

"Yeah right your hair's different, I see you stop trying to get that whole Cyndi Lauper hair style." Bobby Said

"Hey it was the 80's and I was 15 okay, besides look at you mister did you get even taller." I Said

"Mhmm when we graduated back 89 I was 5'10 and now I'm 6'3." Bobby Said

"You reached your dream height, well I'm still waiting to be 5'8 I'm only an inch away but a girl
can dream." I Said

"Mhm." Bobby Said

"So what the hell are you doing in Austin Bobby?" I Asked

"Oh yeah I moved out of Dallas, figured I could get a fresh start especially away from our old hometown." Bobby Said

"Tell me about it." I Said

"Hey are you busy, I'd love to sit and catch up even?" Bobby Asked

"Uh..sure it's not like I have anywhere else to be." I Said

"Fantastic so ya hungry, because I'm down for some Golden Corral wanna come?" Bobby Said

"Yeah." I Said

"Come on I'll drive us there." Bobby Said

Bobby and I walked to his car, he opened the door for me which I thought was very sweet of him.
He got in right after me then started the car
and drove a few blocks towards the restaurant.

******

After settling inside the restaurant and ordering ourselves a big lunch, Bobby and I decided to bring happy hour a little early.

"Mmm this Mamosa taste so good." I looked over at Bobby, who's smirking. "What's that face for?" I Said

"What face?" Bobby Said

"That face." I Said, booping him on the nose with my finger.

"Nothing it's just..I still can't believe I'm sitting here with you right now." Bobby Said

"Oh please Bobby, it's me." I Said

"I know it's just I haven't seen you in a really long time, do you remember the last time we saw each other?" Bobby Said

"Uh it was...it was a party that Ryland and I got invited too, I think it was one of her friends from college and you were there with your friend Kyle." I Said

"Mhm." Bobby Said

"No way that was like four years ago." I Said

"Yeah and I specifically remember how drunk you were that night, because we had an argument that night." Bobby Said

"It's all coming back to me now..what we're we even arguing about again?" I Asked

"You and Braden I think we're taking a break from one another, and I remember that night you said you were looking for a rebound. But I guess none of the guys at the party made the cut.." Bobby Said

"And that's when I tried hooking up with you right?" I Said

"Yep, but like the kind gentleman I am..I rejected you." Bobby Said

"And I did not take it well, I said some pretty fucked up things to you..and I don't think I even apologized to you." I Said

"No it's okay." Bobby Said

"No Bobby it isn't..I was being the annoying drunk ex girlfriend that night, and I shouldn't have called you those names and blamed for you breaking us up when we dated. When it was really my fault.." I Said

"Sonya we were seventeen years old and sometimes it doesn't work out." Bobby Said

"I thought for the longest time after we broke up, you hated me or just didn't want to speak to me anymore." I Said

"Come on Sonya I could never hate you I've literally known you since elementary school, your my childhood and..all the stuff that happened in the past is in the past. I'll always have a place for you in my heart." Bobby Said, I smiled at him.

"Vise versa.." Bobby nodded his head. "So Bob what's up with your life, you married?" I Said

"Married no but I am in a relationship with someone." Bobby Said

"Yeah who?" I Asked

"Amanda Aniston." Bobby Said

"Amanda..Amanda Aniston from high school, you guys are dating." I Said

"Yup have been for the past two in a half years." Bobby Said

"Wow she's a pretty girl, class president and honor student..you got yourself a catch." I Said

"Yeah Mandy's great, I'm really happy we found each other. For years people thought I'd never move on from you." Bobby Said

"Oh yeah tell me about it, I mean our parents were rooting for us to get together since the second grade." I Said, Bobby chuckled.

"Yeah I think they took the break up harder than us." Bobby Said

"Mhm..hey Bob do you ever wonder about what would have happened if we stayed together?" I Asked

"You know I haven't really even thought about it like that. But...Uh if we stayed together after high school, we would have probably been married, Spring wedding per your request." Bobby Said

"Because Spring weddings are the best in my opinion." I Said

"I prefer June because it's summer and the weather is beautiful just perfect.

"So I'm guessing you and Mandy will definitely have a June wedding in the future, I better expect to get an invitation." I Said

"Oh your definitely invited don't worry." Bobby Said, I smiled then looked down at my watch.

"Oh god I didn't even realize how much time has passed, it's 3:40 already." I Said

"Really I gotta pick up Mandy from work in about 15 minutes, her car is in the shop being fixed." Bobby Said

"What happened to it?" I Asked

"She crashed into her neighbors mail box, yeah I know. Hey you got a way to get home?" Bobby Said

"I was just going to take a cab." I Said

"Let me drop you off then." Bobby Said

"No that's okay Bob." I Said

"Come on Sonya it's the least I could do." Bobby Said, reaching inside his wallet taking out $40.

"Alright then." I Said

Bobby and I got up from our seats and left the table, he drove me back to my apartment complex and I thanked him again for the lunch and drive. Then walked towards my front door, and put in my keys unlocking my door and entering the apartment and let out a sigh.

"Home sweet home." I Said

Throughout the afternoon I continued tidying up around the apartment, and attempting at cooking but ended up ordering take out. Later that night after my shower I walked towards my room, as I looked through my drawers for a t shirt something from my shelf caught my attention and it was my high school year book.

"Eh it's been years since I've opened this thing why not, I'm feeling nostalgic." I Said, reaching for the book.

I pulled the book off the shelf and walked towards my bed and sat on it, looking at the yearbook with
"Class Of 1989" on it. As I'm flipping throughout the book I landed on the most likely column, and there was the column labeled "Most Likely to get married"
and it was a picture of me and Bobby from senior year.

A smile quickly came to my face as well as so much memories just skimming around in my head. Sometimes it is okay to just look at the past, to escape reality. After looking at all the signatures from classmates I finally put the book down as my eyes felt heavy.

Looked over at my alarm clock which read 12:04, I took my towel off and dried myself off and pulled on the pajamas I quickly picked out and got into bed, before drifting off, I leaned over towards my nightstand and turned off the light.
