𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐎𝐕

The traffic light turned green then Sonya started her car, as she began pulling off she was then blinded by a bright light. All of sudden an all black Honda came crashing into her car, Sonya's car started spinning from the impact then it flipped over landing off the road.

All the cars on the road stopped after what just happened, the car door of the Honda opened and a man stepped out. He stumbled out of his vehicle and fell to the ground, clutching his head which is bleeding from the crash.

"Wh-What the fuck did I just do..." He Said, looking at his damaged car and the area.

One of the cars on the road parks their car, a woman and man gets out of the car and rushes over to the man, making sure if he's okay.

"Sir..Sir are you okay?" She Asked

"No No No, what just happened?" He Asked

"Sir you we're just in a car accident." He Said

"Oh my god Greg he's bleeding." She Said, the man touched his forehead and looked at the blood on his hands.

"Priscilla go check if there's a fist aid kit in my glove compartment." Greg Said

"Okay." Priscilla Said, running back towards the car.

"My car it's Uh-oh god my, oh my arm hurts." He Said, slurring on his words.

"Okay you need to stay right here and don't move." Greg Said

"Greg there's nothing in there, we need to call someone for help." Priscilla Said

"No wait I-I hit someone, please one of you go check on them and make sure they are okay....please what if I killed them." He Said

"Okay I will, what's your name?" Greg Asked

"Adam, Adam Hansley.." He Said

"Okay Adam, I'm gonna need you to do one thing for me..and that's to stay near my car okay." Greg Said

"I killed them didn't I, I'm so sorry I'm so sorry." Adam Said, as his eyes started tearing up.

"Don't cry okay don't cry, stay here with my wife and I'm gonna go check on them stay right here." Greg Said

"Okay, just make sure they are okay." Adam Said

"Hurry Greg." Priscilla Said

Priscilla helped Adam up from the ground, they walked over towards her car and he leaned against the hood of her car grabbing his right arm. Greg left them both and ran over to the side of the road where Sonya's car flipped.

He finds the wrecked car which is crashed into a tree and smoke coming from the hood, Greg walks over and he sees Sonya unconscious in the driver's seat.

"Oh god, Miss can you hear me..hello?" Greg Said

Greg walks closer to the car door and tries opening it up, he struggles opening it up but after several attempts he gets the door open and reaches over to Sonya and feels for a pulse.

"Come on come on." He placed his fingers on her neck feeling for a pulse, he sighed in relief "Oh
thank god we got a pulse." Greg Said

Greg looks at Sonya who's head is bleeding and has shards of glass in her hair, he gently reaches inside the vehicle and tries moving her body but her leg is stuck. Greg pulls gently on her leg getting it out, he then gets her out the car successfully and carried her bridal style over to his car where his wife and Adam are.

"Oh my god." Adam Said, covering his mouth in shock.

"Is she-" Priscilla Said

"I got her, she's breathing and I found a pulse so she's alive..but she's badly hurt." Greg Said

"I called 911, they said an ambulance should be here shortly." Priscilla Said

Greg gently laid Sonya on the ground, Adam started crying hysterically as the couple looked at him.

"I'm an idiot..I shouldn't have been driving, I just ruined this poor woman's life..what if she's like paralyzed or something." Adam Said, breathing heavily.

"Adam you don't know anything, the paramedics are on their way." Priscilla Said

"What if they don't make it in time, you heard your husband she's injured badly because of me...I hurt her and..I'm an idiot I should have never been on the road.." Adam Said, he starts breathing heavily and his vision gets blurry.

Priscilla and Greg notices that Adam keeps staggering when he tries to walk, she reaches over
to try and keep him up.

"Adam just sit down okay, sit down." Priscilla Said

"My head hurts...I can't-I can't.." Adam Said

"Adam..Adam." Greg Said

Adam's eyes roll back and he falls to his knees, Priscilla catches him as he falls to the ground unconscious.

"Adam, Adam wake up..wake up." Priscilla Said, gently tapping his face to wake him up but it's no use.

"Where's the god damn ambulance!" Greg cried out, looking down at Sonya.

After 15 minutes which felt like forever the ambulance finally showed up, the paramedics rushed both Sonya and Adam to the nearest hospital.
They finally arrived to the hospital and rushed both of them to the nearest doctor.

The next morning at Laurie and Jack's, an alarm clock goes off at 6:30 AM and Laurie reaches over and she shuts it off. She rubs her eyes and sigh then tapped Jack on the shoulder.

"Jack..hey Jack wake up." Laurie Said, shoving him and he opens his eyes.

"What time is it?" Jack Asked, sitting up in bed.

"It's 6:30." Laurie Said

"I really don't want to go to work today Laur." Jack Said, Laurie leaned her head on his shoulder.

"Then don't I mean it's summer, Jack you're 53 years old if you want a day off then take it." Laurie Said

"True but what if someone at the office needs me or something." Jack Said

"Honey you're tired come on it's a beautiful day today, we can go relax at our favorite lake spot we used to go to when we were younger." Laurie Said

"Yeah..hm maybe we can have a little picnic or something, that sounds nice huh?" Jack Said, Laurie smiled at him.

"That sounds great, all right come on let's get up." Laurie Said, she gave him a quick peck then got out of bed.

Jack soon followed behind her and made his way to the kitchen, Laurie was preparing breakfast for the two of them as Jack prepared the coffee but they both heard the sound of knock coming from the front door.

"Who could that be." Jack Said

"Could be one of the kids." Laurie Said, walking towards the door.

"Please this early in the morning, they should be getting ready for work." Jack Said, pouring himself a cup of coffee.

Laurie rolled her eyes at her husband comment and went to go answer the door. When she opened the door, instead of seeing one of her children she instead was met with a police officer.

"Hello good morning ma'am are you Laurie Sawyer?" He asked her

"Yes I'm Laurie, is everything okay officer?" Laurie Asked

"Ms.Sawyer I'm so sorry to inform you that last there was a car accident last night. And it seems that your daughter Sonya was in the accident." He Said

Laurie's facial expression went from confused to worried in a matter of seconds, Jack soon walked over to the door so he could know what's going on until his wife broke the news to them. The both of them quickly got dressed put on whatever they could find, Jack grabbed his car keys as Laurie followed behind her husband as they both got in the car and drove off to Austin.

After about a two hours drive Jack and Laurie finally arrived at St.David's Medical Center and made their way into the building. Laurie looked around until her eyes landed on a nurse at the front desk.

"Hello excuse me my name is Laurie Sawyer this is my husband Jack, we were informed that our daughter was brought here last night." Laurie Said

"Okay ma'am what is your daughter's name?" She Asked

"Her name is Sonya Elizabeth Sawyer, she is 26 years old." Laurie Said

"Could you please tell us where our daughter is?" Jack Asked

"Give me a second." She looked through the files, picks up one and reads it. "Ah yes Sonya Sawyer, she's on the trauma floor I'll take you to her." She Said

The nurse lead's them towards the elevator and presses the second floor, a few moments later then they arrived on the floor and walked a few doors down until they reached a room and saw Sonya laying down in the the hospital bed.

"Oh my god, Sonya." Laurie Said, tearing up as they walked over towards her bed.

"Sonya, hey can you hear us it's us mom and dad." Jack Said, looking down at his daughter.

"Mr & Ms. Sawyer hello I'm Dr.Montgomery, I'm Sonya's Doctor may I speak with you both please." He Said

"Yes of course." Laurie Said, she and Jack followed the doctor outside in the hallway.

"Doctor Montgomery the police told us that their was a car accident that happened, is she...is our daughter dead?" Jack Asked, tearing up and trying to stay calm.

"No Sonya isn't dead thankfully she survived the crash." Dr.Montgomery Said, Jack and Laurie let out a sigh of relief.

"Oh thank god." Laurie Said

"But due to the crash she did in fact suffer some severe Injuries." Dr.Montgomery Said

"What injuries?" Jack Asked

"Sonya has suffered a dislocated shoulder, we had to rush her up to surgery immediately and luckily the surgery went well." Dr.Montgomery Said

"Oh..." Laurie Said 

"And we also had ran some CT's on her to make sure their wasn't anymore severe damage on her brain and what we found is that she suffered a moderate concussion, which is why she's currently asleep."Dr.Montgomery Said

"When will she wake up Dr.?" Jack Asked

"These things tend to happen to patients especially after car accidents, but the only thing you can do is to be by her side and only time will tell when she could wake up. It'll probably be a couple days, or even weeks." Dr.Montgomery Said

"Doctor was there anyone else that was hurt in the accident?" Laurie Asked

"Uh..yes there was the driver who was driving, he also being treated here exactly. I'm not his doctor but what I do know is that he's fine and currently in recovery from his surgery." Dr.Montgomery Said

"Thank you Doctor." Laurie Said

"Okay, I'll be back later to check on Sonya." Dr.Montgomery Said

"Okay." Jack and Laurie Said

Dr.Montgomery picked up her clipboard and walked away from the couple, Jack and Laurie walked back into the room and looked down at their daughter who's asleep. Laurie pushes the hair out of Sonya's face and tucks a strand behind her ear.

"Oh Sonya, baby girl I hope you wake up soon." Laurie Said, sniffling.

"Laur we gotta tell everyone, especially the kids I mean..they gotta know what's going on." Jack Said, as Laurie wipes away some tears.

"Jack I don't even know what to say, I feel like if I get on phone and tell Cade, Dylan and Ryland that their sister is in a coma I might not ever stop crying." Laurie Said, Jack walks over and hugs her.

"It's okay It's okay you heard the doctors she's gonna be okay, we just gotta wait for her to wake up that's all..she's gonna wake up." Jack Said, as Laurie sobbed into his chest.

Jack continue comforting his wife as she continued to cry, a couple minutes later Jack stepped out and looked around the area until he found a Pay phone and dialed down Cade's number and told him everything that's happened, eventually he told Dylan who then told Ryland.

About two hours later Jack and Laurie we're still at the hospital, sitting at Sonya's bedside. They heard footsteps approaching the room, Cade and Dylan entered the room and stopped in their tracks once they saw their sister in the hospital bed.

"Mom..Dad..what happened?" Cade Asked

"Sonya was in a car accident last night, the police told us the driver was intoxicated which is why the crash happened." Laurie Said

"Thankfully there wasn't any to severe injuries that happened, she only dislocated her shoulder and suffered a concussion." Jack Said

"So how long is she going to be in a coma?" Dylan Asked

"Doctor said it could be a few days, honestly it's up to her to when she wants to wake up." Laurie Said

"Can't believe this happened." Dylan Said

"I know I mean when dad called me I was at work, nearly got pulled over by a cop just driving over here." Cade Said

"Sorry." Jack Said

"Don't be dad, thank you for letting us know." Dylan Said

"Speaking of has anyone heard from Ryland?" Laurie Asked

"Uh yeah when before I ended the call, she told me that she and Thomas were trying to book a flight back home. Hopefully they can make it back from Mexico by either tonight or tomorrow." Dylan Said

"So what do we do in the mean time?" Cade Asked

"All we can do is just sit and be here for your sister." Jack Said

"What about her job I mean someone has to tell her boss what happened to her." Cade Said

"I'll handle everything, don't worry about it." Laurie Said

"Come on boys, take a seat." Jack Said

Dylan and Cade nodded and sat down over by the window, they all did stay at the hospital with Sonya for a few hours. Ryland and Thomas arrived to the hospital and joined up with everyone and explained what's going on to her.

Later Dr.Montgomery and a couple of nurses came in to check on her post ops which looked great, After hours everyone decided to go home but Ryland and Thomas decided to stay. She's currently relaxing in the recliner next to Sonya, Thomas taps her on the shoulder.

"Hey I'm gonna step out for a sec and grab something from the vending machine want something?" Thomas Asked

"Nah I'm okay babe." Ryland Said

"Okay, I'll be back." Thomas Said, he kisses her temple and leaves the room.

Ryland looks over at her older sister, she reaches over and takes her hand and holds it. Let's out a huge sigh.

"Hey Sonya, I don't know if you can hear me but..I called a couple of your friends from work and they'll be here in a couple days to come see you, and make sure you're all right...your all right okay." She kisses her temple "Night big sis." Ryland Said

Three days later everyone continued to show up and be there for Sonya, Ryland, Jack and Laurie smiled as Paul, Joan, Billy, Sean, Brian, Kevin and Scott showed up to visit at the hospital.

"Thank you guys for coming, I really appreciate it and I know you guys are very busy." Laurie Said

"Oh don't Mrs.Sawyer it's okay really, we rather be here than at work." Paul Said

"Yeah when we got the call from Ryland, we just had to come see her." Joan Said

"Thank you, and thanks for the flowers and gifts..she'd really appreciate it." Jack Said

"We know she would." Kevin Said

"She looks so peaceful, I wonder what she's thinking about." Scott Said

"Probably about food." Brian Said, everyone chuckled at his comment.

"He's right for a girl that girl size, she sure can eat." Billy Said

"She sure can." Laurie Said

"Come on Laur, lets give them some time with her." Jack Said

Laurie nodded and followed Jack out the room, everyone looked over at Sonya. Joan walks over towards the end table down and sat down the flowers she and Paul bought from the hospital gift shop.

"This sucks guys." Joan Said

"You heard the doctor's they said she'll wake up soon." Paul Said

"Yeah but that could be days or weeks even." Scott Said

"Come on guys Sonya's gonna wake up she's a strong girl." Kevin Said

"This just hasn't been her year, I mean with Shawn, the drugs, her suspension and now this.." Billy Said

"She can't catch a break." Sean Said

"Speaking of Shawn, is he coming?" Joan Asked

"I don't think so, I mean they haven't spoken in months." Paul Said

"Yeah but he should still visit her at least, she's been there for him..he can do the same for her." Joan Said, caressing Sonya's cheek.

"I don't think he'll show Joan." Scott Said

"I'll talk to him, convince him to see her." Paul Said, Joan smiled at him.

"Thank you." Joan Said, Paul pulled her close and hugged her from the side and kissed her cheek.

After an hour of spending time at the hospital, everyone said goodbye to Sonya and her parents and went there separate ways. The next day Paul is at home packing for the road, he takes a break and picks up the phone an dials a number down.

"Hello?"

"Yo Shawn it's me." Paul Said

"Oh Hey man what's up?"

"Nothing much just packing up some clothes and doing some laundry, how are you..you good?" Paul Asked

"Yeah I'm okay, a little tired but I'm okay."

"So the other day you know we all went to the hospital to go see Sonya, and we were all wondering..maybe you should come see her." Paul Said

"Oh...I don't know Paul."

"Come on Shawn, just come see her." Paul Said

"I can't see her especially like that, I mean what if her family doesn't let me up there and see her.."

"Shawn no one is going to be there, you can go see her before visiting hours are over. Come on dude, she was there for you...I think it's time to you do the same for her." Paul Said

"I'll think about about it, okay let me think."

"Alright I'll call you later man, I gotta go bye." Paul Said

"Bye."

Shawn set the phone down and went back to watching television, he thought for a second about what Paul just said. Rebecca walks out the kitchen and joins him on the couch and snuggles up next to him.

"Hey, who was that?" Rebecca Asked

"It was uh..Paul." Shawn Said

"Oh is everything okay, I know that they went to go see Sonya." Rebecca Said

"Yeah." Shawn Said

"Is she alright?" Rebecca Asked

"I think so, I mean they say she's still in a coma.
She could wake any day now." Shawn Said, Rebecca nodded as she ran her fingers throughout his hair.

"Shawn..I think you should go see her." Rebecca Said

"Beck's..." Shawn Said

"No it's okay, look I know she is your ex girlfriend and I'm okay with it really. Plus I think it'd be good for you." Rebecca Said, she kisses his cheek.

"I don't know." Shawn Said

"Think about it alright." Rebecca Said

"Mhmm." Shawn Said, he pulls Rebecca closer and kisses her as they continue watching tv.

Back At the hospital, later on that night Sonya's nurse is checking her vitals and looking over at her file. There's a knock at the door, she looks over and see's Shawn.

"Yes may I help you sir?" She Asked

"Hi I'm a friend of Sonya's." Shawn Said

"Sorry sir visiting hours are over." She Said

"Please it'll just be a minute." Shawn Said

"Okay, you got a minute, I'll be back." She Said, the nurse picked up the file and walked out the room.

Shawn placed the flowers down next to her bedside, he tucked a strand of Sonya's hair behind her hair.

"Hey pretty girl, I don't know if you can hear me but if you can...I just want you to know I am sorry for the way things ended the last time we spoke. I never wanted us to see each other like this. I brought you your favorite flowers, orchids just the way you like em'." Shawn Said, The nurse knocks on the door.

"Sir.." She Said

"I'm going I'm going." He looks back over to Sonya, he holds her hand and kisses her the back of her hand. "I'm sorry Sonya." Shawn Said

Shawn walks over to the door and nods to the nurse and leaves the room, the nurse turns off Sonya's light and shuts the door. Silence echoed the room, then all of a sudden one of Sonya's fingers move a little.
