Myrah POV
Aish! I hopped onto the horse.
Before Jimin knows, I will be out of the palace and return at dawn with a peace note.
"Myrah. You can't go alone. What if Prince Jin declines to accept your proposition when you have played with his emotions?"
"Then I would rightfully die for this kingdom, Ri-ma. Before I die, let me do the last and only good feat. Now, keep this between us as long as you can. I will be back," I piloted her and lifted the horse leash. It set off in a spurt outside the palace.
Exiting the palace was exceptionally formidable since, after my memorable visit, every unofficial path to the castle was perpetually blocked.
With great exertion, I fled the palace with the help of Ri-ma, who set up a horse, at noon.
I rode slowly, away from the male soldiers who rushed inside, as Jimin called for them to the castle grounds. Bless him.
I sneaked out of the capital, concealed as a man, whose wife has to be brought to protection due to the "war emergency."
I patted my horse, which set forth a great acceleration into the forest by the side of the capital. Within a few hours, I can reach the Qin Army camp before twilight.
Jimin would be frustrated and would scurry to war for my safety. Hopefully, my scroll for him, implying to wait until dawn will stop him from doing so. After all, who am I? A warrior. I shan't step back from wars.
My horse galloped steadily, and as the sun dwindled over the horizon, I crossed the perimeter of Joseon. At an enormous speed, I drove my horse to the camp until I was halted by a combatant.
"Take me to your Prince Jin. This is Myrah... Myrah Park, the Queen of Joseon," I asked as they nodded and led me to the camps.
A huge fire was lit around with men scampering here and there. I leaped off the horse and pursued the men to the camp, where I reckoned Jin would be.
I moved inside the camp and was greeted by his charming existence that shone under the glowing flares of fire.
"Myrah! How did you evade? "Jin called me and embraced me. I patted him lightly, and he let me go.
"Prince Jin! Please stop the war. Everything is a misunderstanding!" I urged,
His face frowned as he spoke. "Misunderstanding? Did Jimin Park threaten you? Myrah, you can be candid with me."
"Prince Jin. I am sorry, you can penalize me instead of my land but truth be told, all the letters I sent you were a fraud."
"No-"
"No. You have to abide that I have tricked you, Jin. But I beg you. I am terribly sorry. Please. Please stop this war, I will do anything for it!" I insisted as I rubbed my hands.
Jin was dumbfounded and backstabbed. His steps fumbled as he stepped back. His face dimmed. The distress and the wrath, unable to apprehend nor accept, I can feel him. But to what use? I have harmed his pride, his lovely self.
"Myrah." He shook his head as he closed his hands into a fist.
"You should leave. The war will cease. Don't stay here another minute. It's not a warning, it's a threat."
I was partly hurt by his vicious words, but I earned it. Yes. I bowed down and left the camp.
I jumped on my horse. It was night. If I start now, I will reach Joseon at midnight.
Following Jin's order, I leaped onto my horse and rode, I am no longer allowed here. I rode fiercely through the forest with a great sense of apprehension and remorse.
My mind was drowned in thoughtsβ a reason I hate being lonely is that these ghosts of mine stick close to me.
It wasn't dark. Jin's army lit the whole forest and was bustling. They must be loaded back, I thought.
The moon came after me along the path, and as the periphery grew near and near, my heart grew easy.
But something wasn't right. Jin's men bombed near the border. Dazed, I rode to them, unable to move elsewhere. There were twenty of them. The other troops must have left or are coming. I remarked. I should leave immediately.
"Look!" a soldier shouted at me.
Soon, I was surrounded by men.
"Where are you leaving, young lady?" a soldier asked.
"Joseon. The war has been discontinued. You all can happily return to your family," I declared and trotted front.
"We received no such orders, woman. We can't allow you any further," he replied.
"What? Make way," I asked.
"Look at your nerves, woman. You have pretty lips, but you speak ugly. A woman like you shouldn't be trekking in the dark alone."
"And men like you..." I shook my head. Being in their land, I can't even rise my opinion against them as a "good human."
"Look at you. You will reach Joseon but as a corpse," he commented and raised his sword. But, I am no good, I can't stick to it.
"Men like you will piss in their pants as soon as I wield my sword. Unfortunately, if that happens, you wouldn't be alive to see it. You son of a bitch. Let the leash go!" I screamed at him. I kicked him by his chest and raised my saber, its golden handle shone gloriously.
This is for us, Jimin.
I moved my horse front as I lacerated the blade into the air, slicing the other's throats.
Sheer old soldiers, you can never match my level. I strode front proudly, slashing men who blocked my way.
With a few more struggles, I would probably be in Joseon in an hour.
The others didn't stay back, they combated me with equal resilience. The night gleaned bloody as I splashed red blots on the ground and carved humans for survival.
The night turned into a frenzy within minutes as the swords slashed through the air, cutting through the air, whipping the cold breeze as the advances increased.
Argh! Blood gushed out of my mouth, bubbling as I felt a knife hole through my back. "Aargh," I shrieked as the blade churned through my skin, rotating and slitting my organs. My breath hitched as I felt the liquid pool in my hands. Like an opened dam, it poured out.
My horse neighed as it moved forward. I grasped its leash and turned it to my backside, noticing a soldier with my blood on his blades. I bitted my lips tightly, holding back the left strength
My hands quivered as they lifted the saber. With a loud cry, I cut his throat and fell off the horse.
I have lost enough blood that there can be no more for me to survive. With every breath, I felt my blood oozing down my waist, drenching my clad in the richest of ruby shades.
There were still men left. If I die now, it's not because I was a weakling, but a fighter who killed countless men and a few of them before her death.
"No! What have you done!" I heard someone hoot as they ran toward me. I felt their steps echo on the ground, and the loss of blood clouded my eyes as I tried to hold back my consciousness.
It was a young teen. He came near me and examined my wound. He held my shoulders, trying to lift me, but oh boy, even god can't help me now. I could no longer hold back. I could already feel my breath running out.
"Please tell everyone that I am sorry," I uttered between my very last breaths. The young soldier nodded, but his hands trembled and his eyes dilated as his face held fear. I lightly tapped his cheek. "Be brave, my boy... don't get trampled upon," I smiled at him, gleaming through my eyes. The little one resembled my younger self, a son I never had.
"ah. The Great Queen Myrah Sanchez Park has finally got her longing desire fulfilled," I mumbled proudly and fell back, returning back to the land where the sinners walked upon.
Somehow everyone and anyone becomes a villain in one's eyes. For them, we become a sin they regret committing. And I take pride in having become the infamous glorious Villain Queen Myrah Sanchez Park.Β Β
