-For those of you who haven't read the book description before jumping in (I know I'm guilty of that), Elena Gilbert doesn't exist in this book. The reason is because I thought it'd be interesting to see how the story unfolded with an entirely different protagonist on the pages and maybe it'd spice things up a bit too. For those of you who are fans of Elena or Nina Dobrev, this is in no way meant to offend you or demean any of them.

-This book starts at the very beginning of the show, all the way back in season 1. Interchangeable events will be revised, but things that cannot be as easily changed (meaning that the entire plot will quite literally fall apart if I don't add it), they may play out in a slightly different way but will share similar results.

-Triggering topics like depression, post-traumatic disorder, and psychological abuse will be explored. If you're not comfortable reading this, I suggest you stop now, but if I am to include any themes associated with depression (such as self-harm), I'll make sure to issue a warning beforehand.
