As soon as her feet slammed against the hardwood floors of the drawing room of Grimmauld Place she was grabbed by her shoulders and pulled into a very strong hug, she didn't even have time to think how sick she was from apparating with Harry and Ron.
"Merry Christmas, dad," Hermione said with a gasp as she hugged the man back.
"Merry Christmas, Mia," her dad said with a big grin as he let her go and turned to hug Harry the same way.
Hermione turned to look at Ron who was already walking towards the kitchen with a big smile as he hear his mother scream something at the twins.
The three of them had decided to come home for Christmas. They were hoping to spend one day without thinking of the war and most of the Order (except those on service) reunited in Grimmauld Place to celebrate the holiday and take their minds off the real world—though that was easier said than done.
Hermione had spent the last month and a half hearing Potterwatch along with Harry and Ron. Hearing Lee Jordan's voice trying to encourage them to go on and save the bloody world sure helped and Hermione's heart fluttered every time she heard Fred's voice on the radio.
That month and a half hadn't been much different from the other ones; they went from house to house from Muggleborns pulling upwards, they fought any Death Eater they saw attacking someone but were conscious enough not to go against more than they could take. Hermione had tried to convince the boys to sneak into Hogwarts but that's where they drew the line. As much as they wanted to make sure their friends were alright they wouldn't want to go right into a serpent's pit. Hermione knew they were right, after all, she had been the one adamant not to put anyone at risk, but the adrenaline of fighting Death Eaters made her slightly reckless. She wanted to see just how good she could be sneaking into places. After a good lecture from Regulus though she refrained from mentioning it further—though she did sneak out a couple of times to see Teddy and BZ (they had been going on minor missions for the Order but couldn't risk much more for if they found them then they'd be forced to take the mark), she also went to check if the flat she had given Draco had been occupied (it remained empty).
Hermione thanked God, though, that Harry had not mentioned a visit to Godric's Hollow—as much as she wanted the adrenaline of fighting off Death Eaters she did not wish to make an acquaintance with Voldemort's pet just yet. She figured that as James and Lily were spending time with Harry from beyond the grave he just didn't need to go to their actual graves yet.
Hermione followed Ron through the room, letting Harry and her dad have a moment as they entered the kitchen. As they did, Hermione was made aware that her father had indeed not told anyone they were coming. Everyone in the room stopped what they were doing, plates and cups falling to the ground.
Hermione and Ron looked at each other before smiling at the familiar faces in the room. Hermione made jazz hands as she said, "Surprise!"
"What are you doing here?" Moody barked at them raising a wand at them.
Hermione gaped offended and looked at Dora, who was to his left next to Remus her baby bump already showing, to ask for help. Her cousin raised her wand at her and Hermione gaped again.
"I don't think—" Fred was seemingly trying hard not to lunge at them and hug them. Moody snarled at him and Fred promptly shut up, throwing Hermione an apologetic look.
Dora stepped towards Ron and Hermione and looked at the latter with a glint in her eyes, "What happened the last time you blackmailed me?"
Hermione's face fell into a big grin and she let out a laugh as Fred turned red. "Fred fell out of the couch when you caught him snogging me silly. I threatened to tell dad about your crush on a certain furry friend."
Remus smirked at his wife and Dora lowered her wand with a grin. "Wotcher, 'Mione!"
"There's still one left," Moody growled as he looked suspiciously at Ron.
Hermione rolled her eyes and raised a lazy wand at Ron who looked at her annoyed. "What happened when you tried to ask Flower to the Yule Ball?"
Ron turned bright red and glanced over at Bill and Fleur who both looked thoroughly amused by the question. Ginny fell into fits of laughter.
"She didn't answer so I ran for my life when I came to my senses. Bloody Veela blood," Ron grumbled and Hermione looked at the room with a pleased prompt look.
"Now, can we enjoy Christmas?" Hermione asked Moody and didn't wait for an answer before turning to the room. "Merry Christmas everyone!" With that, she ran straight into Fred's arms.
The boy laughed at the impact but held her close to him.
Someone coughed from beside them and Hermione turned away to see both George and Ginny looking at her with an eyebrow raised. "Can't share your love, Black?" George asked as Ginny smirked, "Glad to see who your favorite is."
Hermione rolled her eyes and let go of Fred and hugged the other Weasley siblings. When they pulled away Ginny turned to her with a small hesitant smile, "Where's Harry?"
Just then a booming voice belonging to Sirius, "I present to you, the bloody Boy-Who's-My-Godson!"
They turned to the doors of the kitchen to see a beaming Sirius with his arm around Harry's shoulder. The other looked between annoyed and amused. Moody raised his wand and Remus pulled it down. "If Sirius knows it's Harry, it's Harry."
"Besides," Hermione said loudly, "I apparated us here. I wouldn't have confused my best friend for a Death Eater, now would I?"
Moody grumbled under his breath but eventually let it go.
The next couple of hours were spent catching up with everyone. Ron spent his first ten minutes in the kitchen being squeezed to death by his mother and Hermione and Harry were soon pulled into a crushing hug themselves.
By the end of the day, most people had left Grimmauld place, leaving only the Weasleys, Remus and Dora, Sirius, and the trio behind, sitting around the kitchen table, drinks at hand.
"So are you guys going to tell us what you've been up to?" George said from the place next to Fred as he looked at the trio of young wizards. Hermione who was sitting by Fred's side and Sirius (who was at the end of the table) glanced at Ron and Harry from across the table.
"You see, we've noticed something," Fred said with a cheeky smirk.
"There have been rumors of anonymous saviors throughout the country," George said dramatically. "Apparently Death Eaters are dropping in the ocean."
Hermione pursed her lips and put an innocent look on her face, "We've only been doing what Dumbledore told us to."
"And?" Bill pressed from where he sat with Fleur.
Harry and Ron shared a look with Hermione. The former made a nervous face as he caught Sirius looking at them with dangerous life (as if they said they were risking their lives he would kill them himself), "We've been keeping as many people as we can safe."
"I knew it!" Ginny said at the same time as Mrs. Weasley.
"After your little show at the Ministry," Mr. Weasley said with a proud smile, "we figured you were the ones behind the Death Eaters washing up on the coast."
Hermione paled slightly, "They died, didn't they?"
Mr. Weasley seemed to hesitate but Sirius had no problem. "All we found did. At least four are dead."
Hermione grimaced a horrified look on her face.
"Mia, it's war," her dad said strictly, "We know you didn't mean to kill them, but we're glad you did. The less of those bastards running around, the better."
"Still, I killed them," Hermione murmured.
"You saved more people, though," Ron told her with a sympathetic smile, "If I remember correctly the first time you did it was to save me and the Muggle being tortured to insanity."
Mrs. Weasley gasped at the confession and leaned into Mr. Weasley in relief her son was alright.
"Sirius is right, love," Fred said from her side, taking her hand in his, "it's war. We're all just trying to survive."
"We're trying to win," Harry said promptly. Everyone nodded.
Everyone decided to stay in Grimmauld Place for the night before returning to their safe houses and back to the horrors of the war. Christmas even if somber had been a relieving day.
Hermione was looking out the window of her room when she heard a knock on the door. She instinctively grabbed her wand before making her way to the door. When she opened it she found Fred standing at the door a cheeky smirk on his face.
Hermione let him enter the room and closed the door behind him, smirking as she cast a Locking and Silencing Spell around the room. She turned to see Fred sitting on the bed looking at her with an amused grin.
"Were you expecting to sex me up, Mimi?" he asked cheekily, repeating the expression she had said the first time they had been intimate.
Hermione rolled her eyes and moved toward him sitting on his lap, a knee on either side of him as she straddled him. Fred looked up at her his blue eyes glinting under the light of the moon and Hermione cupped his jaw with her hands, running a thumb along his cheekbone, Fred leaned into the touch, not breaking the eye contact.
"I missed you," Hermione whispered to him before pressing her lips to him for a short kiss.
"As did I," Fred murmured in turn putting a hand on her waist as he pulled her as close to him as humanly possible, his other hand burying in her hair.
They looked at each other hungrily. Hermione looked down at his lips before looking into his eyes again. His gaze darkened as he saw her licking her lips in response and looking at him through her lashes. Finally, the shred of control he had snapped and Fred crashed his lips into hers.
Hermione sighed into the kiss, her lips twitching into a smile as he ran his tongue along her bottom lip waiting for Hermione to let him in. She didn't hesitate and moaned as he bit her bottom lip before deepening the kiss. She ran her hands along his shoulders and they came to rest in his chest before she squealed when he fell back and pulled her along with him. She landed with her elbows on either side of his head, her hair falling on either side like a curtain.
Leaning to kiss him Hermione rolled her hips onto him and Fred let out a groan. In a second, Fred turned them around and was hovering over her in seconds. He quickly got rid of his shirt as Hermione got rid of hers.
Hermione raked her eyes over his body and her heart leaped a bit as she saw the ink below his collarbone. Her name was scrolled over his skin in her handwriting. Hermione reached to touch his skin and she did the ink moved and fireworks of colorful wink ran through his skin. Hermione's eyes snapped to Fred who was looking at her with a waiting look, his bottom lip tucked into his teeth as he looked for a reaction on her face.
Hermione reached up to touch his face, cupping his jaw, and smiling up at him with loving eyes. "Freddie, you know magic tattoos are as permanent as they come, right?"
Fred let out a laugh and leaned into her touch nodding. "That was the point, Mia."
Hermione's smile grew wider, and she pulled him down in a kiss. "I love it," she murmured into his lips and Fred grinned.
" I was hoping you would," he said pulling away as she examined the tattoo again, her soft fingers trailing over it as the fireworks began again.
"When did you get it?"
"On your birthday," Fred said cheekily and smirked when he saw a blush creep onto Hermione's cheeks. "It was my birthday present for you," he said huskily before pressing a kiss to her throat making Hermione whimper.
He kissed down her neck, pulling her blood to the surface as he made sure she couldn't forget that night, Hermione moaned at the touch of his lips and gripped his shoulders.
"Fred," Hermione moaned breathily as she brought his face up and kissed his lips, "I love you, Weasley."
Fred grinned, "And I love you, Black," he said before smashing his lips against hers again.
That night Hermione gave everything to Fred Weasley, she gave him her entire heart. She hadn't known she missed him as much as she did and she didn't want to let him go. Not now, not in the final battle, not ever. She was going to fight against all odds to save the man that made her feel alive in the middle of the war. That made her feel like she was truly living as opposed to just surviving.
That night she made sure he knew just how strongly she had fallen for him and she moaned as he showed her just how far he had fallen for her. That night both of them truly forgot about the war and lost themselves in each other's arms.

Welp... I was gone for so long, I feel like you deserve another one for the day. Three chapters in one weekend after a whole year of no updating. I feel like it's fair ;)
Anyway, I'm not sure when I'll be posting again but it's either soon or rather soon because I'll be posting as soon as I'm done with a chapter, I don't care about schedules or shit like that. Enjoy!
(sorry about not writing the smut, go take a cold shower ;))
