It had been three days since they had found Jasper and brought him back to camp. Auriella had to admit, it was torcher listening to his moans of pain constantly. She hadn't had a good night sleep since they got him back.
She knew he was in pain, but she sometimes wished he was just put out of his misery. It would be better for him and for the camp, but if Clarke thinks that he will make it through, she won't stop her from doing everything she can to save him.
She hoped for Jasper to survive, she really did. He seemed like one of the nicer kids in the camp. Besides, he was Monty's best friend, Auriella didn't want him to lose his best friend.
On the other hand, her and Luka were finally back to being them. The younger girl had apologized to Auriella the night they got back. The taller girl knew she was scared for her, she could see it in her eyes. All Auriella wanted was for Luka to be safe and know she loves her with every fiber of her being. If it took a stab to the heart from the girl for Auriella to prove that to her, she would a million times over.
Auriella had just been in the upper part of the dropship, watching as Clarke cut away the infected flesh from Jasper's chest. Bellamy had came up and threatened to kill him himself if they didn't fix him by tomorrow. She hated how Bellamy thought he could control everything, if anything Auriella thought Clarke should. After all, she knew more about anything then Bellamy did. The boy was just a guard anyway, what did he know?
Clarke had left a couple of minutes ago after she had finished cutting the infected flesh off of Jasper. Auriella couldn't help but follow after her after a few minutes. She could tell what Bellamy said had gotten to her and she was second guessing herself. She got down and walked out, looking around the camp and noticing Clarke sitting on a log. She was inspecting the leaf that the grounders had put on Jasper's wound.
"Hey, you okay?" Auriella questioned as she sat beside Clarke, laying her palm on Clarke's knee. The brunette watched as the blonde's gaze went straight to her hand against her knee. She felt the heat in her neck rise, but she didn't pull away. Instead, she let her thumb trace soothing patterns on her knee, trying to offer some comfort to the blonde.
When Auriella looked back up at Clarke, she was already looking at her. She searched the blue eyes in front of her, that she seemed to never get enough of. She would drown in those eyes if she could and she wouldn't even fight it. "I'm fine." Clarke mumbled out as she looked back to the leaf in her hand. Auriella hummed as she shook her head. She obviously knew she wasn't fine. She looked mad and she knew that she was.
"Well Finn can think that Jasper's a lost cause all he wants." Auriella paused. She watched as Clarke's gaze left the leaf and came back up to her.
Auriella leaned in a little closer to Clarke, switching her gaze towards the ground slightly. "But if anyone can do it, it's you." She felt her pulse quicken from the closer proximity, but she didn't fight it, she welcomed it. A small smile made its way onto the brunette's face as her gaze went back up to Clarke's.
She saw the faintest smile form across Clarke's lips before it went away when Finn came and stood in front of her. Auriella watched as she went from looking at her to the leaf. Of course, like always, Finn ruined the moment.
"You're mad." Finn put bluntly. "I would be too if you came over to me." Auriella mumbled as she shrugged, not caring to look up at Finn. The brunette felt a slight nudge in her arm when the words left her mouth.
"I'm not mad. You want to think Jasper's a lost cause, go ahead. You're wrong." Clarke responded. "I hope I am." Finn shrugged. "Whatever this stuff is, it has to have had antibiotic properties." Clarke spoke as Finn bent down beside her.
Auriella watched as his eyes looked between her hand still placed on Clarke's knee to her. She raised her brows in a questing manner at him. She didn't know what his problem was. Why was he looking at her and the placement of her hand? Probably jealous that Clarke felt comfortable enough to let the brunette touch her and not him. She gave Finn a fake smile, not moving her hand in the slightest.
"Let me take a look." Wells came over, tearing Finn's and Auriella's gazes from each other. "Before you refuse my help, remember who aced botany and earth skills." Wells continued as he took the leaf from Clarke's hand. "The grounders used it as a poultice. I'm thinking a tea might be more effective. If we can figure out what it is." Clarke spoke.
Auriella saw how Clarke clenched her jaw and got cold whenever he came around. She didn't really care what Wells had to say, she was looking towards Clarke. She didn't particularly like to admit it but she was admiring her side profile.
To her, it seemed like it didn't matter which way she looked at Clarke, she still looked good. The brunette started to rub her thumb across Clarke's knee again, hoping to help her relax when it came to Wells.
Clarke looked towards Auriella, noticing how her thumb was tracing her knee. What she didn't know was Auriella was already staring at her, seemingly intrigued by her.
The brunette looked up to the blonde's eyes and sent her a small smile while Clarke was scanning her eyes. Clarke swore she saw Auriella look towards her lips, maybe more than once, but she couldn't be sure.
"I know what it is. Seaweed." Wells's voice broke the girls out of their trance, Clarke breaking the eye contact and looking towards Wells. "Look, no root structure." Wells continued, showing Clarke the leaf.
"Right. Well, then there must be a water source nearby." Clarke quizzed, looking towards Finn with furrowed brows. "Yeah, it would have to have a slow current, lots of rocks. The water would probably be more red than green." Wells explained.
"I know just the place." Finn spoke up. "All right. Let's go." Clarke said, immediately standing up. Auriella furrowed her brows as she stood up beside Wells. She watched as Clarke and Finn walked away, leaving her there.
"Hey. I know what this stuff looks like. Do you?" Wells shouted at them. Clarke and Finn stopped; Finn was the only one to turn around. "Okay, come on then." Finn spoke.
"What about me?" Auriella shrugged. At her words the blonde turned around, looking at the brunette. "What about you?" Clarke questioned, her brows furrowing.
"Am I coming or not?" Auriella quizzed. She watched as Clarke bit the inside of her cheek and looked towards Finn. He shook his head negatively. Clarke looked back to the brunette and noticed her glaring at Finn.
She then looked back to the blonde and her glare disappeared, her gaze was soft, looking for her answer. Auriella saw her hesitation and stepped forward, almost to where their bodies were touching.
"Look, I know what I would choose if it was my choice but it's not. It's yours. Don't let him make your decisions for you. What do you want?" She whispered, mainly so only Clarke could hear.
She watched as Clarke gazed up at her. She also noticed how her breath was slightly hitched and a small blush coated her cheeks. Maybe it was because of the close proximity or Auriella's words, but she had to admit she liked how she made Clarke feel, atleast what she could see.
"I know what I want." Auriella continued when she realized Clarke wasn't answering her. She looked directly at the blonde as she said the words. She wasn't directly talking about the trip to the water source, but Clarke didn't need to know that. She could assume it was about the trip and not what she really wanted it to be about.
She watched how Clarke took a deep breath and stepped back, looking towards Finn. He was already looking at the two girls, but now his gaze was solely on Clarke. "She's coming." The blonde said almost immediately.
A wide smile spread across the brunette's lips, her gaze switching from Clarke to Finn. Her smile turned into a smirk when she looked to Finn. She saw him roll his eyes and turn around. Auriella looked back to Clarke and gave her another smile as the rest of the group started to follow Finn.
