"Mom?" Auriella's voice echoed. She was back on the ark, standing in front of her mom and dad. She saw their sweet smiles painting their faces as they bent down in front of her.

She could tell she wasn't as tall as normal, and she felt shrunk. As she felt their arms wrap around her, she felt normal again and like she could fully wrap her arms around her parents.

"How are you here?" Auriella questioned as tears threatened to fall from her eyes. She didn't get an answer.

Are they going to talk to me?

What am I doing back on the ark?

Where is everybody?

Auriella looked at their faces, examining them. She could tell something was different. She didn't feel comfortable like she knew she should. Instead, she felt scared. How could she be scared of her parents?

Her brows furrowed as she saw her mother's face contort into something she didn't recognize and then it happened to her father. "What is this?" Auriella questioned.

She started backing away, her hands up in defense. She needed to get out. She didn't know what was happening but whatever those things were, they weren't her parents.

Before she could form another thought she saw as her parents lunged for her. She let out a scream but was cut off when her eyes shot open, and her body flung forward.

She felt her heart pulsing through her body as she tried to calm herself. What was that? If she knew anything at all, she knew those weren't her parents. Why didn't they speak to her?

Auriella's heart started to calm when she looked at her surroundings. She quickly went from scared to amazed and mesmerized. She smiled as her eyes scanned the bioluminescent forest in front of her.

Her eyes took in every detail, including a figure of a person. She looked around on either side of her and saw an empty spot that once held the sleeping body of Clarke.

She chuckled to herself as she stood up and walked over to the figure. The brunette saw a bright smile on the blonde's face. "It's beautiful, huh?" Auriella spoke from behind, startling Clarke slightly.

"What are you doing up?" Clarke questioned, her senses slightly heightened due to Auriella. "Bad dream, you?" Auriella answered, looking ahead at the beauty of the forest.

She never would have imagined a bioluminescent forest in the middle of nowhere, but here it was. If only Luka could see it. She hoped Bellamy was taking care of her like she asked.

"Luka, what is she to you?" Clarke pulled Ella out of her thoughts, not answering her question as to why she was up but asking Auriella a new question. Of course, as she was thinking of Luka, she gets asked about her. "Are you reading my thoughts now, captain?" Auriella questioned in an accusing tone as she looked over at Clarke. "No, I just-

-she's the closest thing I have to family." Auriella cut her off as her tone softened. She saw Clarke's demeanor relax as a chuckle fell from her lips. "So, i'm assuming that means she didn't get locked up for being your real sister." Clarke spoke, looking back out into the forest.

"No, but she was the first person that didn't see me as a threat after my parents got floated, she's my sister, I love her more than anything." Auriella spoke as a smile formed across her lips while thinking of her sister.

"You're such a softie." Clarke nudged her in the arm. "Am not." Auriella retorted. "You definitely are." Clarke turned her body to face Ella, raising an eyebrow at her.

"Come on." Auriella mumbled as she grabbed Clarke's wrist and started jogging through the forest. "Hey, what are you doing?" Clarke stifled a laugh as Auriella came to a stop.

She turned around and flashed Clarke a smile as she hopped up onto a stump of a tree. Clarke watched as she stood up and her features hardened into a serious expression. Her brows furrowed as she watched the brunette. "I would like to thank everyone for coming out tonight-

-What the hell are you doing?" Clarke cut her off with her question, earning a glare from the brunette. "For proving that I am in fact not a huge softie, but for seeing past the fact that I am a raging bitch." Auriella winced at the last part as she put a hand over her heart.

Her ears filled with the sound of a genuine laugh fall from Clarke's lips. Her eyes met Clarke's and a smile formed on her lips as she admired the blonde in front of her. "Now, that's a sound I never thought i'd hear." Auriella chuckled.

Auriella gazed at the girl in front of her, she really was beautiful, and all the bioluminescence did was heighten that. She couldn't help but think fondly of Clarke Griffin. Maybe it was the fact that she never talked to anyone growing up and now she was finally getting along with someone, if you could call it that.

Whatever it was, Auriella liked the feeling that arose in her chest when she was around Clarke, even if she hadn't known her for more than a day. A day was all it took to get to know someone. She might not know everything about her, but she couldn't deny that she liked her.

Auriella's gaze shifted behind Clarke when she heard a branch snap. Her smile slowly faded as Finn walked up behind Clarke. Auriella looked around uncomfortably and hopped down from the stump.

The brunette watched as Clarke's once bright smile contorted into a confused one. She followed Auriella's gaze behind her, hearing a voice from behind, "Pretty cool, huh?" Finn's voice spoke.

He came to stand beside Clarke, holding what looked like to be a wooden bowl full of water. "Did you go to the river?" Clarke questioned. "Figured it was worth losing a finger of two. Here." Finn smiled at Clarke as he handed the bowl to her.

Auriella watched from the side as Clarke took the bowl and took a small sip. Her heart suddenly felt slightly heavier as she watched the interaction between the two. She rolled her eyes as she walked past them, shoving Finn slightly on the shoulder. "I'll leave you two alone." Auriella mumbled as she started to walk off.

The brunette heard a choke come from behind, seeing Clarke spit out the water from Finn. "Hey, wait, don't go." Clarke's voice was soft.

Auriella felt a hand grab her wrist, spinning her around. She didn't want to go but didn't want to intrude on Finn's time. Her expression was blank when she turned around, no emotion showing but she felt tons of it.

She felt like if she watched anymore of the two, she would explode. How could she feel such intense emotions for someone when she's only known them a day? She knew she would like Clarke when she first talked to her, but she didn't realize she would this way or this intensely on the first day of knowing her.

"I want you to stay." Clarke spoke up realizing Auriella wasn't going to. Auriella's attention peaked when the blonde spoke those words. She gave a small smile and walked over beside Finn.

"Well, if i'm staying I think I deserve some of the water." Auriella finally spoke, grabbing the bowl of water from Clarke's hands. Clarke chuckled as she looked towards the girl taking a sip from the bowl. It's funny how even the simplest of words can change a person's mood completely.

"You think this means we're all gonna grow two heads?" Finn questioned towards Clarke, seemingly ignoring Auriella's presence. When Clarke asked her to stay, she saw Finn clench his jaw, she could tell he was upset, and it ruined his plan. Auriella secretly smiled at that idea, knowing she hit a nerve.

Auriella heard a laugh come from the blonde girl on her right. Just seconds ago, she had made the same girl laugh with her antics, now Finn was, and she couldn't say she wasn't jealous because the fact was, she was. She realized though, that it wasn't the same laugh she had heard, the one that she had caused Clarke sounded more genuine.

"What do you know? She can laugh." Finn spoke, smiling at Clarke. "The dickhead strikes again with his immaculate humor." Auriella mocked, pursing her lips and shaking her head.

Auriella earned a chuckle from Clarke whereas a glare from Finn. "Are you ever gonna live that nickname down?" Finn questioned her. Auriella furrowed her brows as if she was thinking and looked into the distance, "hmm, no." She gave a fake smile to him as she raised her brows.

He rolled his eyes as he looked back towards Clarke, "Come on, you have to see this." He spoke as he walked around the blonde. Clarke looked towards Auriella, who wore a smirk at the thought that she annoyed Finn with her nickname for him.

"Be nicer." Clarke spoke as she hit Auriella's arm with the back of her hand. "No." Auriella said defensively, earning an eye roll from the blonde girl as she spun on her heel and followed Finn.

Auriella mimicked her eye roll and followed Clarke towards Finn. She copied Finn as him and Clarke bent down, observing an animal print in the mud.

"That's a toe. Plus, near as I can tell, whatever it is, it's walking on two feet. My guess, monkeys." Finn pointed at the track on the ground as he looked between the track and Clarke.

Clarke's laugh once again filled Auriella's ear as she looked towards the two to the left of her. Finn raised his eyebrows, wondering what was funny. "Sorry, i'm sorry. It's just, according to everything i've read, there were no bipedal animals anywhere near here, certainly not monkeys." Clarke spoke.

"Right, did you read anything about glow-in-the-dark forests or man-eating snakes?" Finn questioned in a playful tone. She watched as Clarke pursed her lips and shook her head.

She saw the way Finn looked at Clarke, he was smiling a little too much for her liking. "What was the point in showing us this?" Auriella looked directly at Finn with raised eyebrows, who had an unamused expression painting his features.

"Auriella, stop." Clarke stifled a laugh as she looked in her direction. "Sorry, sorry." The brunette raised her hands in defense as a laugh fell past her lips.
