Luka had just woken up from a nap, knowing she had nothing better to do. As she stepped outside the dropship, she noticed how it was pitch black outside except for a fire in the middle of a ring of people. She heard people hollering and cheering while the darkness clouded her vision, but she could make out someone outside the ring.
"Wells, right?" Luka spoke as she noticed the boy walking to the ring of people. She honestly felt bad for him, he got blamed for the things his father did. It was to be expected but still, not everything has to be passed down to the child.
"Yeah, why?" He answered, turning to face Luka. "Just making sure, how's your leg?" She questioned as she pointed down to him limping. "Fine." He put bluntly.
Luka furrowed her brows, why was he being so hostile? She never did anything to him. Was his guard just up? The younger teenager rolled her eyes as she followed him to the other side of the circle.
Luka's eyes widened when she realized what they were doing. Why the hell were they taking off their wristbands? She watched as the crowd cheered with another wristband being throw in the large fire.
"Who's next?" A loud voice sounded through the group. Luka saw the figure of Bellamy Blake, that always prominent smirk across his lips. Of course it was him, it always had to be him.
"What the hell are you doing?" Both Luka and Wells questioned in unison. "We're liberating ourselves. What does it look like?" Bellamy said as he stepped back beside the boy that was prying the wristbands off.
"It looks like you're trying to get us all killed." Wells raised his voice at the dark-haired boy in front of him. "The communication system is dead. These wristbands are all we got. Take them off, and the ark will think we're dying, that it's not safe to follow." Wells spoke to the crowd.
"That's the point, chancellor." Bellamy mocked, the crowd laughing. "We can take care of ourselves, can't we?" Bellamy continued, questioning the crowd. He was met with 'yeahs' throughout the crowd, still smirking at the pair opposite of him.
"You think this is a game?" Wells questioned. As he was about to continue speaking, Luka stopped him and started to speak, "Do you not want your friends, family, doctors, or engineers to follow? We need them, do you really want your parents thinking you're dead. Do you want your family and friends mourning you while you're very much still alive down here, I know I wouldn't." Auriella spoke to the crowd, looking around.
"That's whats gonna happen if you continue taking the wristbands off, your parents are up there, probably checking to see if you're still alive constantly and then once you take these off, someone is going to have to break it to them that you're dead when you're not." She continued as she turned to face Bellamy.
Now she was speaking directly to him instead of the crowd, she glared up at him as she parted her lips, "Do you really want your parents-
-my mother is dead for the crime of having a second child. So, no Luka I don't want them to come down because those people locked my people up." He cut her off, scanning the crowd during the last few words.
Luka's mouth stayed parted at those words. She had no clue what to say to that. He was blaming every one of those people for what happened to his mother.
"His father did that." Luka heard Bellamy's voice lower as he turned his gaze to the boy to the right of her. "My father didn't write the laws." Wells retorted.
"No, he enforced them, but not anymore, not here. Here, there are no laws. Here we do whatever the hell we want, whenever the hell we want. Now you don't have to like it Wells or Luka, you can even try to stop it or change it, kill me. You know why? Whatever the hell we want." Bellamy finished, earning a chant of 'whatever the hell we want' from the crowd started by Murphy.
Luka shook her head as she scoffed, stepping towards Bellamy. They now became mere inches apart as she glared up at him, never breaking eye contact. "This is wrong!" She screamed over the crowd at Bellamy, who just gave a small chuckle and a smirk in return.
"Don't make everyone else pay the price for your stupid damn decisions. What the hell did you do, Blake?" Her yelling continued. She saw his smirk drop at the words as he backed away from her.
She saw as Bellamy tore his gaze from hers and looked up towards the sky, a large crack of thunder sounding through the sky. She followed his line of sight to the sky as she felt water droplets land on her face.
She couldn't help the smile that spread across her face. She looked around at the people cheering, excited about seeing real rain. She had never thought she would see half the things she's seen in only a day, but look at her now, real rain covering her face and making loose strands of hair stick to her face.
"We need to collect this." Wells spoke to Bellamy. "Whatever the hell you want." Bellamy retorted as he looked towards Wells and back up towards the sky. Wells pursed his lips as he walked away, leaving Luka and Bellamy alone in the center of the ring of people.
"You need to learn some survival skills, Blake." Luka yelled over the people screaming in excitement. "You need to learn to relax, princess." Bellamy smirked down at her.
Luka rolled her eyes, a laugh escaping her lips. She couldn't help but throw her arms up and twirl around in the rain, it felt better than she imagined. The freshness of the cold water and the smell of it, it was amazing.
She felt the eyes of Bellamy piercing into her as she spun around but she didn't care, she was finally free. She felt as if she could stay in the rain all day, she loved everything about it.

authors note-
An exclusively Luka and Bellamy only chapter for yall. I don't know if I already said it but I'm planning to focus on other relationships throughout the first and second act so they might not be that often.
Hopefully yall enjoyed and please comment/vote if you did. <33
