THE GROUP WERE NOW ON THEIR WAY TO KYOSHI ISLAND BACK ON APPA, WHO BELLOWS INTO THE MORNING BREEZE FLYING THROUGH THE SKY. HE GROWLS SOFTLY SPOTTING SOMETHING COMING UP BESIDE HIM, AND STARTS TO FLY IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION. Sokka was sat in the saddle at the back, while the other three were sitting at the front where the rein was to control Appa.

(Y/N) perched herself in between Aang and Katara on the bison's body, taking the reins into her hands a bit as she patted his fur in greeting, gaining a soft growl in return. Her head perks up when she heard a lemur squeaking, and her face brightened up seeing the lemur from the temple flying along side them.

Aang shared a wide smile with his best friend who passed him the reins of the saddle, them all watching as she raises her arm out for the lemur, "Wanna join us, Momo?" She asked sweetly, making Momo coo and squeak in answer as his ears twitch on top of his head.

"Momo? What type of name is that-" Sokka spoke baffled from behind the three, his figure leaning over the saddle to see what was happening better, widened eyes trained on the girl, "Don't tell me you're gonna keep him."

She rolled her eyes playfully at his words, just as Momo landed on her arm with a coo, and nuzzled his soft furred cheek into her one, "Excuse me Sokka, Aang named him." She retorted back, giggling a bit at the soft sensation, "But he looks like a Momo, does't he? Just like how you look like a Sokka, water boy."

"Can't argue with that." Katara snickered out watching the two interact with each other, and shared a knowing smile with Aang, both of them trying not to laugh at Sokka's expression hearing her come back.

He was glaring at Momo jumping around (Y/N)'s shoulders, all her attention being on the lemur who was cooing at her softly, and this irritated him a lot, "I bet you taste like chicken." He grumbled out, and Momo screeched like he had heard the comment, his eyes flattening down making the other three laugh amused.

After a little while more of traveling by air on Appa through the never ending sky, the four had eventually arrived at Kyoshi island, where it was much bigger than it seemed in the books and drawings they've seen. The statue of Avatar Kyoshi stood proudly in the middle of the island, off to where the sore was, and it made Sokka mutter something about 'there she is, giant scary lady' to himself.

They landed Appa down safely and hidden away from anyone who would try to take him, as they all hopped down from his saddle. (Y/N) placed Momo on Appa's head, who grunted softly and nudged her stomach, making her smile gently and brush her fingers through his fur in a quick farewell.

Now the massive Kyoshi statue was more clearer to the four, as they started to walk through the pathway leading up to the where it was placed. Her (E/C) eyes were wide with wonder looking up at the eartbender Avatar, wishing she got to actually meet the one whom came before her.

Sokka, like the idiot he was, simply walked up the few stairs to the door leading inside Kyoshi's temple, "Check this out." He pointed at it gaining the others attention, and he pushed the door open which made a creaking sound as he to go went inside.

The airbending siblings shared a nervous look at him doing that, them standing beside each other a bit far back. They hear Katara sigh heavily, as she went to call out to her brother, "Sokka, should you just go in there?" Her words weren't heard by him, as he was already fully inside and didn't acknowledge her warning.

A sudden noise of bushes rustling caused (Y/N) to become alarmed, the hairs at the back of her neck standing up when things went too quiet around them. She went to turn towards Aang, and Katara, to only seem them being held by Kyoshi warriors, struggling to get free from their tight grips on the two's arms.

"(Y/N)! Watch out-" Aang's warning flew out of his mouth in a quick exclaim, eyes wide spotting the warrior coming up behind his sisters blind spot as she was focused on them, but he was more worried about the girl's safety not his.

She acted fast when one warrior tried to swipe at her, and she used her bending to flip over the girl, the air carrying her as she did so. She landed with a grunt in the middle of the rock circle, and when she did so, a massive gust of air shot out of her boots and out towards everyone else. Her arms come up in a defensive postion, spotting all the warriors closing in on her.

"Sokka! Get your butt out here, right now!" She yelled out in panic, eyes not moving from the many Kyoshi warriors around them, and quickly glanced at the two holding onto her brother and Katara. They were safe for now, as something told her that the warriors weren't going to actually hurt them.

"What? What's happening-" His voice echoed through the room he was in, his head peaking out first to see what was wrong. His face dropped spotting the warriors around (Y/N), and his sister and Aang captured. Before he could even think about doing anything, he too was brought down by one of the warriors, and body slammed onto the floor roughly, "AH!"

The air got knocked out of him when he did land on his back, and his wide eyes lock onto the painted face above his, "You are trespassing on sacred grounds." She sneered out, her name being Suki as she heaved him by up also roughly.

"Stop! You're making a mistake. She's the Avatar!" Katara was quick to pull that card out, motoing to (Y/N) in the middle on the rock, making some of the warriors snap their heads to her confused with their fans still out in defence, but Suki wasn't believing it.

Suki shakes her head and tugs on Sokka's figure to follow her where the other warriors were placed, "Ridiculous. There would've been signs if she was the Avatar." She retorted unimpressed, as her eyes glance to the girl in question.

All of a sudden the same mystical whirring sound was heard through the valley, as a bright light began to shine down on (Y/N)'s figure. Her eyes also glow a bit in response to it, as she saw all the warrior's jaws drop a bit staring at something behind her. Kyoshi's statue's eyes were glowing down on her, creating the light that was on her figure.

Aang, Sokka and Katara all share a wide eyed look with each other, experiencing another event that showed (Y/N) was the Avatar, something they would never be able to understand no matter how hard they try to do so for her sake.

".... I think that might be a sign." One of the warriors spoke up after a few seconds of stunned silence, her gaze flickering toward the shocked Suki, still holding onto the proud Sokka who was looking at the glowing girl, along with everyone else.

THE BELL CHANGS THROUGH THE VILLAGE TO SIGNAL THE ARRIVAL OF NEW FACES, THE FOUR OF THEM HAVING BEEN LEAD TO KYOSHI VILLAGE TO TALK WITH THE ONE IN CHARGE, AND WOULD HOPEFULLY FIND SOME ANSWERS THEY WERE LOOKING FOR. The four of them were sat in one of the main huts being surrounded by the warriors still, but wouldn't dare say something to disrespect or cause them to become hostile with them.

"It's been a long time since we've had visitors, and for good reason." Yukari, one of the elder's speaks to the four and the rest of the village who had gathered around in the hut, "For a hundred years, Kyoshi Island has remained safe from the ravages of war by keeping to ourselves. We expect the outside world to do the same."

(Y/N) understood the hidden message in her words, seeing how the older woman's eyes were intensely looking at them, "We're not here to cause any trouble." She began in a soft tone, her being sat in between Sokka and Aang, as the watertribe males knee touched hers on the floor, "All I want is to learn more about Avatar Kyoshi. Isn't that what this place is about? Keeping her memory alive?"

"We're not a threat-" Katara tried to also help presue them with the other girl, her being sat on the other end of Aang on the mat they were forced to stay on while they talked with the elder, whom still didn't seem interested.

"Maybe not. But the next visitors might be." Yukari snapped a bit harshly over Katara as she interrupted her, a scowl taking over her features now looking between the four in front of her, "We can't start making expectations."

"We're not just any visitors," Katara spoke back up again, not backing down knowing they needed to stay here even for a little bit, and she glanced to (Y/N) with a smile, "She's the Avatar. She's the real thing."

The older lady scoffed with distaste in her mouth hearing that, "According to you and a few reflections off a statue." She answered which was a bit louder this time, making sure the entire room heard it which did start murmurs and whispers in the crowd behind.

"I know you're scared. I don't know what life has been like here." (Y/N) started to talk gently when the noise died down a bit, gaze trained on Sokka's hand on her knee a bit before back up to Yukari, her eyes sad and accepting, "To be honest, I don't know what life has been like anywhere. I've been away for a while. But where I'm from," She glanced at Aang who smiled at her, "people help each other."

When no one opened their mouth to talk or stopped her, she continued on realising that everyone was listening to her now, "I know I don't belong here. That's something I've dealt with my entire life." Her voice dropped into a sadder one, and felt Aang's hand squeeze her arm in reassurance, "But if you can help me, if I can learn to be the Avatar, maybe I could bring the place I knew, a world where people were happier, and had more freedom, back."

Yukari's harsh expression did soften the slightest at her declaration, but all she did was inhale heavily and continued to stare at the nervous girl in front of her. However, Suki could sense how in need (Y/N) was do accomplish her goal, and bent down beside the elder woman to hopefully persuade her judgement.

"What harm is there in letting her look through some books?" Suki whispered to her teacher, well once was her teacher until she became it for the young warriors to show them how to fight and was training them now, unlike before.

      "It's not about them-"

She raised her brows knowingly at her mothers words, and nodded her head in understanding, "It's about who else may come. I know." She muttered, before gesturing to the four of them sitting silently, "But if she is the Avatar, how can we turn out back on her? Avatar Kyoshi would want her to learn, you know that."

A fond glint in her gaze was now present looking at Suki, and a small smile followed behind it across her mouth, "Such a fierce warrior. And yet such a kind heart." She praised gently gaining an eye roll from her daughter, "Suki, you're too young to know that there are many in this world who would take advantage of that kind heart."

"I'm not too young. I just haven't seen the world." After telling her mother that, Suki leant back up from her position on the floor and stood back in line with the other warriors, as a conflicted look was now covering Yukari's face.

When they did finish their quiet discussion with each other, (Y/N)'s eyes flickered to Suki's ones by mistake, and their gazes meet briefly, causing the warrior to flash her a tiny smile, before it disappeared again to remain focused.

"I'm reminded that Kyoshi herself often benefited from the kindness of strangers." Yukari's strong voice was back again talking, next words more so aimed at the girl who was the current Avatar, "And as the Avatar, she believed in helping those who could not help themselves. So we will open out village to our guests for 48 hours. I trust that you will respect the limits of out generosity."

The four let out a relived breath hearing that they could stay for a little while, as (Y/N) grinned a bit widely at the older lady and nodded her head firmly, "Yes, we do. Thank you for opening your home to us."

The corner of Yukari's mouth twitched up a bit, but didn't fully go up into a smile as the others around them began to talk and slowly piled out of the hut. While this was happening, Suki walked forward to stand in front of (Y/N) smirking, "Come with me for a walk." She told, holding out her armed hand for the girl to take.

She gaped up at the tall girl looming over her, and blinked rapidly at the sudden attention. She turned a bit to Aang and Katara, who both smiled enougring for her to go, and then to Sokka, who was scowling a bit irritated for some reason. This made her frown a bit not knowing why, but couldn't think about it for too long as she was being pulled up.

"Come on, you're taking too long." Suki took the girls arm in her hand, heaving her up in one pull causing (Y/N) to yelp a bit and gain her footing when Suki started walking towards the doors, "Bring your lover boy, too." She called over her shoulder, the bead in her hair making a sound when she moved.

(Y/N) became a bit flustered knowing she was talking about Sokka, and fiddled with the bracelet around her wrist as she glance back at Sokka still on the floor huffing, while Aang and Katara snickered to themselves amused, "Uh, did you wanna join or-?"

Not even halfway through the male was immidently standing up from the floor, marching his way past her as he grabbed onto her wrist gently and pulled her along with him, "Yes. Let's get this over with already." He still was grumbling, leading them both outside into the darker environment to where Suki was waiting.

Suki waved the couple over to where she was stood in the middle of the pathway, and they began to walk along side her through the village. It was a bit quiet between the trio, until Sokka's smooth voice broke it, "I get it. I know why you wanted us off your island. I'd have done the same thing."

While he was talking he didn't realise that his gloved hand had slipped into (Y/N)'s one, and was holding it like it was natural to him. Suki however, notice that touch between them and raised her brows at the other girl, who followed where she was gesturing too.

Her heart almost jumped out of her throat seeing and feeling Sokka's hand around hers, and nervously coughed into her other fist, "Uh... Sokka?" She trailed off gaining his attention almost straight away, "Can I have my hand back now, please?"

A red hue began to appear over his cheeks a bit, and he forced out a nervous chuckle looking down at her, "Yes! I mean, y-yeah of course. My bad-" He stuttered a bit, and dropped her hand from his, now walking a bit robotically beside her causing the girls to share an amused glance.

"Did you also know that water boy here," (Y/N) nudged her elbow gently into Sokka's side, her tone teasing as she talked to Suki who curiously listened to her, "is all the guardian of his home village too. Surprising right?"

The warrior definitely was what the girl said, and looked at Sokka with a disbelief expression as they stopped walking for a second, "You? A guardian?" She repeated in a drawl, eyeing him up and down closely, "So how are you protecting your people if you're here?"

"I may... I may not physically be there, but still..." He once again stumbled to answer under the stares of the two pretty girls, gaze moving to (Y/N) who smiled a bit teasingly which made his eye twitch embarrassed, "That is, I'm... I have to save the world first. With the Avatar of course. By protecting her, I'm protecting-"

His voice trailed off when he spotted Suki walking away with (Y/N), both completely ignoring him making Sokka grumble under his breath and chase on after them, "Hey! The point is we're both warriors, right?" He heaved out still nervous to Suki, who wore a bored expression now.

"Before she died, Avatar Kyoshi trained an elite force in her image. One ready to protect not only our homes but our way of life." She began to explain in a louder tone then before, moving closer to Sokka's figure which had (Y/N)'s brows furrowing watching them from the side, "That tradition has been passed down through the generations, and it is now my honor to protect this community and to uphold the values of the Avatar. That is why I'm not just a warrior. I'm a Kyoshi Warrior."

Sokka's jaw dropped a bit in awe of the girl hearing what she said, and looked to (Y/N) for her response to see her the same way he was. Suki broke their connection by lifting her hand up, and pointed to a room a few meters away from them, "If you need to you can refreshen up in there, if you want." She told Sokka before nodding towards the girl, flashing a smile and then she was off walking away from them.

It was comfortable silence between the two who remined standing beside each other, before Sokka once more broke it with a cough into his clenched fist, "Uh, I'm gonna go clean up-" His stumbled out nodding his head at the room Suki pointed too, dark eyes looking down at (Y/N) softly.

She folded her arms behind her back a bit, and stepped away from him with a small grin, "Of course. I'm gonna go find your sister and Aang anyway." She replied nervously, wanting to avoid standing near him any longer knowing she would just embrasses herself.

He returned her grin with a lopsided smirk, leaving a squeeze to her hand quickly as he dropped it and went off towards the hut, her eyes following his figure as he did so until he was out of sight. And when he was indeed, she released a shaky breath and ran a hand down her forehead, groaning to herself.

That was so embarrassing I can't even... she thought to herself now also walking through the village grounds, head perking up hearing the sound of laughter and smiled softly spotting some kids running around chasing each other. Something she wished she had, but knew she could never get her old life back, no matter how badly she wanted it.

She was so focused in her own thought she did't realise where she ended up, and what hut she had just stumbled upon. That was until she heard shuffling coming from inside it, and water dripping. Curiosity got the better of her, something she could come to hate as the days pass.

The sliding doors to the hut was open a bit, which meant someone was inside either mediating or doing something completely different to what she had in mind. Her hand pressed against the side of the wood, and goes to peek her head in between the gap.

She never expected the sight that was in front of her, not in a million years. A small squeal escaped her as she stumbled back a bit, which made the male inside the room also yelp alarmed at he fall also. Sokka, with no shirt on dripping wet from the water in his hair was stood there, the one whom she ended up finding in the hut, as he tried to cover himself up.

"Oh! Uh, oh my- I'm so sorry-" (Y/N) spluttered out quickly, throwing her palms over her eyes to hide herself from his view as she continued to mutter inaudible words, peeking through the gaps of her fingers, "So sorry, so so sorry-"

The more she got a glimpse of his muscular chest, and how his hair was actually down from its normal bun, the more she felt her stomach twisting and heart beating faster. She swallowed the lump in her throat when she dropped her hands a bit, and tried her hardest not to gawk at the handsome male. He has abs, he has ABS-

"No, no- It's okay," He tried to reassure her through an airy chuckle, his muscles flexing a bit subconsciously as he spotted her staring at him in his exposed state, and smirked a bit smugly, "If you're gonna gawk at me like that, you should do it at least closer, sweetheart."

She choked on air hearing his words and obvious flirting, her eyes going wide as she was quick to spin around and slam the door shut behind her. Her heat rate picked up more hearing his deep chuckle from behind the door, and pressed a hand on her chest feeling how fast her heart was beating.

The image of his abs and how good he looked kept flashing in her mind every time she closed her eyes, and mentally cursed Sokka for being so attractive, and herself for letting it effect her that much. Her knees felt like buckling the more she leant her back against the door, wanting nothing more to get a peek at his body again.

She shakes her head to get rid of those thoughts, locks moving around as she did so. With a grumpy expression plastered over her face, she pushed herself off the sliding doors and began to stomp away from Sokka hoping to find Katara and Aang, wherever they were.
