Down in gobblin town |ch.11

The dwarves' way led them through many plains. Soon enough, they find themselves on a lo irían side with rain pelting down. A fierce storm was raving aorund them, making it almost impossible to hold onto the mountain, for it was slippery as any rock would if it's wet. Throin gripped an aperture in the face of the hill, angling his head so he could shout back to his companions. "Hold on!" Bilbo is longer behind in the ranks of dwarves and slips on the stoke under him.
Some of the dwarves grab him saving him from an unfortunate demise. "We must find shelter!" Throin bellows from the front of the company gripping onto the black stone. Dwalin shouts as he notices a bolder hurtling towards them, "Watch out!" The boulder crashes into the mountain, shattering on impact. "This is no thunderstorm; it's a thunder battle! Look!" Balin yells as he spits a giant stone rousing up from the depths.
Yet another counter to this creature. It's a battle. "Well, bless me, the legends are true. Giants; Stone Giants!" Bofur yells, looking at the giants as they battle one another. "Take cover: you'll fall!" Throin yells as a dwarf drags Bofur back. The mountain starts to shatter beneath their feet, and they all look down as a giant crack snake it's way down. "What's happening?" Kili's voice scared. Yet another giant arrives, and the rock beneath their feet begins to give way from all the vibrations and the impact of the falling rocks. The ground between some of the Company members splits; part of the group is on one side, and part on the other.
"Kili! Grab my hand! Ki..." Fili says as he and his brother are parted. As the two stone giants fight with their fists, the dwarves hold on tight as they are flung around. One of the groups manages to jump to a different spot. A third stone giant appears, and it throws a boulder at the head of one of the first two. That one falls over; as the first group watches, it seems the other group of the Company has been smashed to bits. The hurt stone giant loses its footing and falls down the chasm.
Have they been killed? Is this the end of the journey?
🌪
"I thought we'd lost our burglar." Dwalin breathers, heaving as he leans against the stone. They had just saved Bilbo from falling into the great chasm that the stone giants had. But little did they know of those eyes that studied them. A sneer flaunted its lips as the creature heard Thorin's reply, "He's been lost ever since he left home. He should never have come. He has no place amongst us." Such an ego would not be easily crushed. But I do not want to wound him. Tell him his place.
The creature thought bitterly and bit back yet another growl as she rose to her feet and trotted away. She knew they would need her soon.
Thorin and Dwalin had gone off to search the cave that happened to be beside them when they had met each other again after the incident with the giants. Throin sighed as he studied the cave and turned to Dwalin as he called, "There's nothing here." The dwarf prince nodded, and soon the others joined in. Gloin sat down and laid a heap of sticks and logs onto the stone floor, rubbing his hands together to get warmth. "Right then! Let's get a fire started." He says, but Thorin cuts him off before he can start.
"No, No fires, not in this place. Get some sleep. We start at first light." The dwarves make sounds of agreement and settle down. Throin turns aorund seeing Balin looking at him, worried. "We were to wait in the mountains until Gandalf and y/n joined us. That was the plan." The dwarf prince sighed and shook his head. "Plans change. Bofur, take the first watch."
Outside there are ears that listen. Evil ears. But a wolf bigger than them stalks the orcs as they scent the air. Azog speaks to his orcs, "The scent is fresh! They have taken the mountain pass." But as they take off, some are killed, and only 4-3 are left. Azog doesn't hear nor notice this as the killer kills silently. She races after the rest but doesn't kill them, serving as a shortcut to the cave. I hope my skills will not go to waste. Soon I will taste goblin flesh if I remember correctly.
And she would for in the mountain cage where the company rested was a porch to a great kingdom beneath the world of ordinary folk. Little ones knew, and few had never gotten out of there alive. But even the goblins had a place underneath their feet where a great power slept. But soon would be awakened. Let's hope the good will win in the end.
🌪
Bofur and Bilbo were talking. Bilbo had wanted to sneak away under cover of night, and in his heart, he had hoped to meet Y/n on the way. Only he was stopped by Bofur. "Where do you think you're going?" The dwarf asked as he studied Bilbo with worry and curiosity. "Back to Rivendell," Bilbo answered, feeling guilt bite at him. "No, no, you can't turn back now; you're part of the Company. You're one of us." Bofur said, sounding a little desperate.
But why not? Bofur and Bilbo were good friends as the strange dwarf was one of the members who had accepted the hobbit and welcomed him. Y/n was the other one. But she wasn't here to speak in his defense when Thorin insulted him. Bilbo took a breath and turned to face Bofur more. "I'm not, though, am I? Thorin said I should never have come, and he was right. I'm not a Took; I'm a Baggins; I don't know what I was thinking. I should never have run out my door."
They don't know that Thorin, awake, is listening to their conversation, looking at thoughts thoroughly. A small vine of guilt blooms in his heart. But two more ears list ends. Their barer sighs and sits down, curling her fluffy tail aorund her front paws. Poor Bilbo. I should've been there more. Now he feels he doesn't belong, but he does. If there's someone who doesn't, it's me. I was their host. Now I'm a member. *sigh* if Thorin doesn't like Bilbo or me, why hasn't he sent us on our way?
The beast's thoughts get cuffed off as she shakes her head, flicking her left ear to listen. "You're homesick; I understand." It comes to the voice of Bofur. "No, you don't, you don't understand! None of you do - you're dwarves. You used to - do this life, to living on the road, never settling in one place, not belonging anywhere."
Bofur's face fell as hurt gnawed his heart. Bilbo saw this and immediately got guilty. As the hobbit was, he tried to apologize, but it helped a little "I am sorry, I didn't..." Bofur shook his head and smiled sadly. "No, you're right. We don't belong anywhere. I wish you all the luck in the world. I do." Bilbo nodded and smiled a little, turning away. But then Bofur saw a weird glow from bilbos sword. "What's that?" He asked and looked up as he heard a sound. Bilbo looked at Bofur, then at his sword, and then at the cave open ring. A white wolf rushes in, grabbing Bofur by the arm but still gently enough not to hurt him.
Thorin sees this as a threat and wakes up his friends. "Wake up. Wake up!" But it's not the wolf who is the enemy. The cage floor cracks form in the sand. And soon, the floor opens, and the company tumbles down to unknown depths, into goblin town.
