❛ gilmore girls marathon ❜
( real life )
"YOU DID WHAT—?"
"I almost ran over Chris Sturniolo with my car, we've been over this!" Amelie rolled her eyes.
Her and her friends were sat on Amelie's bed, as they had come over once she'd texted emergency! come to mine now. please! (The emergency had turned out to be a gossip session.) As soon as everyone was there, she started rambling about what had happened in lunch and after school.
"Yeah, because that happens on a day-to-day basis." Aza scoffed, hugging a pillow close to her chest.
Emma blinked, "Okay, so let me get this straight, when you couldn't find us, you went to the bleachers, found Jared and now you're back to being friends—"
"—Which makes no sense 'cause you're, like, in love with him—!" Grace interrupted
"—I will hurt you—" Amelie threatened.
"Then, after school," Emma continued, ignoring them, "you almost killed Chris Sturniolo."
"Killed is an exaggeration—"
"No, I think it's pretty accurate," Gaba nodded.
Amelie scowled. "It's not like he's hurt or anything! Anyway, that was probably the only Chris interaction I'll have this year, I do not want to be near him anymore."
"You're just saying that 'cause you don't want to be near Gen," Aza smiled.
"Who would want to be near Gen?" asked Amelie
"She's not even that bad, you're just holding a grudge," Gaba laughed.
"Hey!" Amelie frowned. "She's holding a bigger grudge than me."
"Oh, she is." Emma nodded. "Every single family gathering, without fail, she's like I can't believe you're friends with Amelie! She's so annoying!"
"Did she lie, though?" Grace joked.
"What the fuck?"
"On a serious note," Aza started, using her arms for emphasis, "can we talk about how many guys Amelie's pulling?" she paused when everyone started giggling. "No, for real, like, Jared and Chris? They're both kinda hot."
"I'm not pulling anyone! Oh, my god, Aza." Amelie scolded even though she was laughing with the others.
"Jared is kinda hot," Grace hummed.
"Are you kidding?" Emma raised her eyebrows. "His face is a crime against humanity."
"Okay, but if you squint a little bit."
"Yeah, no." Emma disagreed. "I see Chris, though."
"Matt's so much better, man," Grace shook her head.
"Nick on top," Gaba said.
"Oh, yes." Amelie nodded. "You're too real."

A few days had passed since the incident. Amelie and Scar were sat on the couch in their living room, watching Gilmore Girls.
"What do you think Lacie's doing tonight?" Amelie asked.
"Crack." Scar answered.
"What?" Amelie sat up and stared at her with wide eyes. "Why would you say that?"
Scar rolled her eyes. "It's how Scottish people say fun. Like, 'You're a good craic.' I looked it up."
Amelie returned to her original position, "It's weird not having her here, huh?"
"It's weird not having Jared here, too." Scar frowned, glancing at Amelie. "I miss his Lorelai impression."
"You're very cruel," Emily Gilmore said, heard from the TV.
"Yes, it keeps me young." Lorelai smiled.
Amelie laughed. "I aspire to be Lorelai Gilmore when I grow up."
Scar laughed at that, then looked at her. "You know, Ams, if you had a boyfriend, maybe you wouldn't have to drive at all 'cause he would take us places."
Amelie snickered at the grin on her face. "If that's what it takes, I think you're stuck with me."
"Eh, I don't know. What about the guy you almost killed the other day?" Scar teased with a smile.
"He's dating Gen." Amelie shook her head. "And I didn't almost kill him! Just almost ran him over."
"Yeah, right." Scar chuckled. "What does it matter that he's dating Gen, anyway?"
"It obviously matters," Amelie frowned. "What's going on?"
"It's not just that..." Scar sighed. "Don't you find it kinda depressing that it's Saturday night, and you're having a Gilmore Girls marathon with your little sister?"
"No. I love Gilmore Girls, and I love hanging out with you." Amelie smiled.
"Okay," Scar sighed louder, "I'm not telling you this to make you feel bad, but I'm eleven and I cancelled plans to hang out with you tonight. And, well, you're seventeen, and I don't think you had anything else going on, am I right?"
"That is really harsh, Scar!" the older sister scoffed.
"The truth hurts, Amelie."
An hour had passed and Amelie had fallen asleep. Scar, ever the little sister, took this oppurtuinty to snoop.
She made her way up into her room and walked into her closet, almost immediately finding Amelie's box of letters. A mischevious grin made way on Scar's face as she opened it.
Unbeknowest to Amelie, that was the night that changed her life.
