After three hours, Akshita finally stirred awake, only to be inundated with questions from her brothers and father, including Reyansh and Ayush who surrounded her with disapproving glares. But Akshita, being her usual self, silently sipped her juice with raised eyebrows as they stared at her.
"Why did you attend the puja?" Reyansh inquired sternly.
"Because I wanted to," she shot back.
"You could have mentioned that you were feeling suffocated," Ekansh said gently.
She wrapped her arms around Ekansh's biceps, setting her glass aside.
"Bhai, you all were focused on the puja, so I thought..." she replied, a little sulky.
"You-"Jojo, please, not now," Reyansh interrupted, sighing.
"This is the last time, alright, princess?" Adarsh added firmly, to which she nodded.
"Okay, bade Papa," she replied, raising her arms in surrender.
"Enough now, Akshu. The designers are here," Vedika said, entering the room.
"Get up and come downstairs; the designers are waiting," she said, pulling Akshita along. Akshita quickly donned her shrug and left, while the others let out sighs of relief.
"I want tight security around her," Alok instructed the brothers as they all nodded, unable to forget the incident from years ago.
"Don't worry, Uncle," Reyansh reassured him.
Downstairs, top designers from Adira and Co. had arrived, and the women were busy selecting outfits for the evening party. The men joined them on the couch, with Siddhart pulling Avyansh along, who looked handsome in casual attire, complete with specs and messy hair.
Akshita cast a sidelong glance at him, and he returned the gesture.
"How is your health, Akshita beta?" Meera asked, gently caressing her hair.
"I'm good, Aunty," she replied affectionately.
"Come, Akshita, choose a dress for yourself; it's your day too," Radhika called to her.
Taking a seat on the lone couch, she noticed a pair of eyes glaring at her with malice.
"What am I doing here?" Avyansh grumbled to Siddhart, who had dragged him.
"You're married; you have a wife, but I'm not," Avyansh retorted sulkily.
"Then get married," Meera teased, while Vedika's mischievous eyes sparkled.
"Yes, hume bhi bahu chahiye" the Rathore ladies chimed in.
"Aunty, once Riddhi gets married, we'll find a beautiful girl for Avyansh," Vedika suggested sweetly, triggering Meera to mentally note to find herself a lovely bahu.
"Why search? Mahira is perfect," Sunita piped up.
"Then I'll never marry," Avyansh shot back, glancing at Akshita. This made Mahira feel insulted, and she sat in silence, shooting daggers at him with her eyes. But did he care? Not at all.
"Ma'am, I'm Priya, the head of the project overseeing the newly launched project here," a girl in her twenties said, handing documents to Akshita.
"Oooh, Priya, so these are the final results?" Akshita questioned while reviewing the files.
"Ma'am, these are the new designers for the launch of traditional attire," Priya pointed out, gesturing towards the group of designers who greeted her.
"Alright, Priya, I'll take a look at the designs," she said authoritatively, causing some of the Rathores to exchange confused glances, unsure why they showed her such respect.
"Ma'am... your... P.A.," Priya stammered.
"Don't worry about that; Alder will arrive," she assured, still studying the file. Akshita then pulled out her phone and dialed.
"Hello, Alder Smith, I need you in my office within 24 hours. In India," she ordered before hanging up without waiting for a response.
"Hey Bhagwan, uss bechare pe thoda daya karna," Ayush said dramatically, eliciting laughs from everyone. Akshita glanced at Vedika, who was observing closely.
"Don't you want any of these dresses?" Vedika pointed out.
"I have a dress, Vedu; you all can continue. I need to freshen up," she said, standing. Mahira shot her a disdainful look.
"You're such a spoiled brat," she commented, which made Akshita narrow her eyes.
"Yeah, sure darling, my father and brothers spoiled me terribly, unlike you," she retorted with a tight-lipped smile.
"And Priya, I'll meet you in the office," she said as she made her way upstairs, leaving everyone watching her retreating figure with exasperated expressions. Though they shook their heads at her stubbornness, none dared to confront her, as this was simply how she was.
Time skip:
The others had already left for the venue, but the younger group was still waiting for three people who hadn't shown up yet. Couples Vedika and Siddhart along with Ayush and Riddhima were close, while Karthik, Aashvi, Mahira, Kiara, and Kian were enjoying themselves.
"How long will this take?" Ayush said, visibly frustrated as Avyansh, Akshita, and Reyansh had yet to appear.
Soon enough, footsteps echoed, prompting them to look as Avyansh and Reyansh descended. Clad in sleek black Armani suits that complemented their athletic builds, their perfectly styled hair and trimmed beards made them look like Greek gods.
"Tonight's spotlight will definitely be theirs; we'll look out of place," Karthik complained, causing everyone to chuckle.
"Karthik," Avyansh shot him a glare, silencing him. Mahira could only gaze at Avyansh, mesmerized.
"Where is Akshu!" Vedika cried out anxiously as her best friend had not yet arrived.
"I had no idea you loved me so much; not even your husband," came Akshita's voice from upstairs, wearing a smug expression.
She descended in a black silk gown with a front slit; her hair was tied in a messy bun that revealed a tattoo on the back of her neck. Akshita walked gracefully toward them, leaving Avyansh astonished by her beauty, not just her outer appearance but her essence as well. Although they exchanged looks, they soon averted their gazes. Noticing their chemistry, Vedika and Siddhart sighed in unison.
"If I were a guy, I'd marry you," Krishvi exclaimed dramatically, prompting a sigh from Akshita.
Upon reaching them, Akshita said, "What? Let's go," and moved towards the entrance, but then stopped abruptly in front of a guard holding weapons for security.
"Do you have a gun?" she asked the guard casually, as if requesting chocolates. The guard, bewildered by her demeanor, eventually handed over the gun as she fixed him with a glare.
Holding the gun delicately, she took aim at a tree and fired three shots.
"Wow, looks like my aim is still spot on," she said, tucking the gun into her clutch.
"You're impossible, Akshu, princess," Ayush, Reyansh, Krishvi, and Vedika said in unison, rolling their eyes.
Meanwhile, the others stood in shock while Avyansh, Siddhart, and Ivaan could hardly believe their eyes. The girl who once detested violence was now shooting without batting an eye.
"Isn't that Akshita?" Ivaan asked, almost in disbelief.
"Not sure," Siddhart murmured, still processing what he'd witnessed.
"Trust me, babe, there's more shock to come," Vedika winked, leaving him to gawk at Akshita, who was now scrunching her nose at Ayush's banter.
"I WILL SERIOUSLY SHOOT YOU IF YOU PISS ME OFF AGAIN!" she shouted at Ayush, immediately silencing him.
"Shall we go after the party ends?" Kiara asked excitedly.
They all piled into their cars, but Akshita lingered behind, playfully poking her cheeks with her tongue.
"Are we not leaving?" Ivaan asked from the driver's seat, while Kian and Mahira sat in the back.
"I need a car," Akshita insisted, crossing her arms.
"Look behind," Vedika called from another car.
Akshita turned to see Ayush and Riddhima in one car, Karthik and the other Rathore siblings in another, and Avyansh and Reyansh in two separate cars.
"Jojo, I want a car," she said with a shrug.
"Come on, princess, just get in this one," Reyansh urged.
"NO, I want to drive," she insisted stubbornly.
"Fine," Reyansh replied, handing her the keys.
She seized them and approached her car.
"Krishu, get in my car now," she commanded, and they both got in.
With a roaring engine, Akshita drove off at breakneck speed, while the convoy of bodyguards followed closely behind. Meanwhile, at the venue, reporters, media, influential business figures, politicians, and journalists had already arrived.
Reporters positioned themselves in front of the stage with their cameras ready. It was time for the world to learn the truth about the rumors circulating and unveil the mysterious daughter of the Rai Singhanias.
The youngsters entered the hall gracefully, their heads held high, radiating power and royalty. Ayush and Riddhima linked arms as they walked in, followed by the rest. The hall was lined with bodyguards wielding weapons for security.
As the atmosphere hushed, a grumpy-looking figure caught everyone's attention. All gazes turned toward him; some girls were captivated, while others looked at him with envy or respect. He reveled in the attention. Avyansh headed straight toward his family, where Devendra was ready with the mic to announce the couple's engagement.
As he approached the stage, the lights illuminated him. Standing confidently, he adjusted the mic and spoke in an authoritative voice.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I am Devendra Singh Rathore, the former king of Rajasthan, here to announce the union of the elder princess of Rajasthan and the younger son of the Agnihotris." He gestured for Ayush and Riddhima, who joined him on stage, hands linked.
Together, they boldly addressed the reporters' questions, ready to reveal the hidden daughter. Suddenly, the entrance doors swung open, and a woman entered, exuding power with an imposing presence. Men in attendance were captivated by her, while women looked on in jealousy.
Noticing the looks men were giving her, Avyansh clenched his jaw as Akshita approached. None of the reporters were aware of her yet, captivated by the couple's presence. She greeted everyone warmly, receiving a kiss on her forehead from her father coupled with a lingering hug. She returned the affection, leaving a lipstick stain on his cheek.
(Prepare for some playful banter as Avyansh and Hriday make their appearance) πΆβπ«οΈ
Akshita conversed with Vedika, while Hriday made his way to Avyansh, gesturing for him to pick him up. Avyansh did so, wrapping Hriday in his arms.
"Hey champ, what's the matter?" Avyansh asked, noting Hriday hadn't approached him until now.
"You scary uncle. Why are you eyeing my girlfriend?" Hriday asked smugly, leaving Avyansh a bit taken aback. No one had noticed him sneaking glances at her, but this little boy sure did.
"Why would I glance at your girlfriend?" Avyansh replied in the same tone, and Hriday nodded knowingly.
"Champ, whose lipstick mark is this?" Avyansh questioned the little boy.
"My girlfriend," Hriday replied adorably, and Avyansh just nodded.
"Scary uncle. Don't worry; my bui won't kiss you on the cheek, so you won't get the lipstick mark," Hriday said, recognizing Avyansh's concerned expression.
"Hmmm, why would she kiss my cheek? I only get the lipstick on my lips," Avyansh muttered quietly.
"Did you say something?" Hriday asked innocently, and Avyansh shook his head.
(Banda thoda fast nahi chal raha hai)π
As Ayush and Riddhima wrapped things up on stage, Alok stepped forward, offering Akshita an encouraging smile before taking the mic.
"Sir, who is your daughter?"
"Sir, what does your daughter do?"
"Sir, what is her name?"
"Why has she remained hidden until now?"
The reporters bombarded Alok with questions, halting when he stood confidently at the forefront. Alok prepared to introduce his only daughter.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I, Alok Rai Singhania, am proud to present my daughter, my pride and strength. The princess of the Rai Singhanias, also the Agnihotris-THE AKSHITA RAI SINGHANIA!" Together, Alok and Manish announced as they exited the stage.
Akshita took a deep breath before stepping up. The cameras flashed, capturing the stunned expressions of the gathered individuals, overwhelmed by her beauty and poise.
Standing tall and proud, she adjusted the mic and spoke in a calm yet commanding voice.
"This is Akshita Rai Singhania, the sole daughter of Alok and Avni Rai Singhania. I am the CEO and founder of ADIRA & CO." The revelation sent shockwaves through the audience. Avyansh was in disbelief; he knew she was extraordinary, but this revelation took him by surprise. She was the woman they had all been trying to know for years, a renowned businesswoman who had won the title of Business Woman of the Year for three consecutive years.
"Ms. Rai Singhania, may we know why you kept your identity hidden?"
"Well, some things are better left private, and I believe it's best to keep things discreet until they are permanent," she said, casting a glance at Avyansh, who was already watching her.
However, not everyone can handle success, and some arrogant reporters tend to take shots at it.
"Mam, being a Rai Singhania must make it easier for you to create this empire," a reporter's question was more a sneer than an inquiry. Akshita smirked at the comment but maintained her composure.
"Being a Rai Singhania didn't give me any advantages in business; my success is all my own. Sure, a family can offer support, money, and luxury, but they can't hand you success," she declared, her voice booming in the packed hall. It was her first time at a public event, and she made it clear from the start: don't mess with her. Because AK is definitely not someone you want to cross.
"I built this empire on my own, governed it alone, and I achieved success independently. You don't need anyone else." She paused, scanning the room with an intense presence.
"It's my empire, with no favors and no shortcuts. It belongs solely to me-my father and brothers have no claim to it." She asserted. Her achievements were undeniably her own.
"Miss Rai Singhania, it must have been beneficial to come from an influential family in the business world," another reporter remarked.
"I stood on my own; no one opened doors for me. I opened them myself, and when they wouldn't budge, I broke them down. That's why I'm known as AK in the business world, not just Akshita Rai Singhania. The name AK stands alone, it's me only without family ties, surnames, or their legacies -I am sufficient on my own." Her voice echoed in the silence, emphasizing her truth; she built her success without anyone's pity, sympathy, or support.
What has she become today?
She created herself.
She rose from darkness-and now she dominates it.
She gracefully answered every question posed to her. The Rai Singhanias looked on with pride, as did the Rathores. Once Akshita left the stage, her mother and Swarna were the first to embrace her, followed closely by Vedika, who pulled her into a bone-crushing hug.
Avyansh watched her, filled with pride, but a sudden realization hit him. While business was not her true passion, as she had once aspired to be a singer, he chose to keep that thought to himself for the moment.
She made her way through the crowd as everyone bombarded her with questions. Approaching Vedika, who stood amongst friends, Akshita heard,
"Oye hoye, the AK is here," Vedika teased, prompting Akshita to roll her eyes.
"Bestie, you didn't get it right," Ivaan sulked.
"You didn't like the suprise?" she shot back.
"Congratulations," Avyansh finally said, observing quietly up until then. Akshita's heart skipped a beat as she heard his deep, masculine voice. However, she refused to let her emotions surface.
"Thanks," she responded.
After a decade of silence, their dialogue resumed. They had previously despised each other, yet an undeniable bond lingered.
"What will happen if they talk like this?" Vedika muttered under her breath.
"Let's go grab drinks," Riddhima suggested, joining Ayush.
"Alright, let's celebrate my bestie's success; that's a reason to indulge," Ayush chimed, pulling Akshita close.
"My Avy baby will get a drink for me, right?" Ivaan teased, side-hugging him, only to receive a playful punch on his back.
"Ouch, why do you hit me?" Ivaan complained, rubbing his sore spot.
"If you talk nonsense, you'll get hit," Avyansh shrugged in response.
"I'm convinced you guys are dating," Akshita said casually as she walked away.
"Do I look gay to her?" Avyansh murmured.
"Who knows," Vedika shrugged, joining Akshita.
They all moved to the dining table, where a lavish dinner awaited them. Others were already taking their seats when Riddhima cleared her throat to gain attention.
"So, we the youngsters are going to a resort tomorrow," she announced.
"Why?" Devendra inquired.
"Actually, Dadu, we decided to celebrate our bachelorette party," Ayush explained.
Devendra agreed with a nod.
"Okay, but be back by the morning day after tomorrow," he instructed. They all nodded in agreement.
"Yayyy, I'm so excited!" Kiara, Aashvi, and Mahira cheered in unison.
"Me too," Vedika and Krishvi added, but Akshita remained quiet, staring blankly at her plate.
"What's wrong, princess?" Reyansh asked, noticing her somber expression.
"Hn, nothing," she said, straightening up.
Just then, Hriday approached and gestured for Akshita to pick him up.
She placed him on her lap.
"Buii, why aren't you eating?" he asked, noticing her untouched food.
"I'm not hungry, baby," she replied.
Everyone stayed quiet, aware of her stubbornness. Avyansh caught a glance at her as he enjoyed Hriday's company. Just when they thought everything was fine...
The dinner continued with laughter and joy as they all savored a delightful evening together. They eventually returned to the mansion, where the day of the youngsters awaited them-a celebration of the couple's bachelorette party.
