"Nitwit. Blubber. Oddment. Tweak." โ€” Albusย Dumbledore

Everything had begun all from a simple letter that had somehow found its way to its recipients despite the magnitude of wards and magic throbbing off the large mansion in the middle of.... They had signed their acceptance letters and sent them to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizarding.

Versailles was surprised they even knew about Regulus and Thanatos, who had "graciously 'decided' to grace them with his presence" his words. He had decided to follow in Regulus's footsteps to become a student, even if he could've chosen to be a teacher or something. He had never gone to school. He was a god and had an underworld to rule over, after all.

Versailles couldn't do anything due to his letter appearing in his lap, and he showcased a smug smile at them and waved the letter around.

The Black household was in a tizzy with everyone (Reggie and Theta) checking their luggage and the house elves cleaning up their morning breakfast and helping them. It was pure chaos, and it would be happening every year. Caspian was chasing Cerberus around, making a ruckus, bumping into the house elves who had to follow them and clean their messes up.

As chaos happened right outside her door, Versailles couldn't help but look over the invisible cloak that once belonged to James and would be passed down to little Harry. At first, Versailles was heartbroken and mad over the whole Peter/Potter situation and had blamed Harry for a while, but she got over it. She found comfort in her new and improved life of lavishness but was also lonely until Theta and the others came alone.

She had watched Harry grow up from afar, and the cloak had come in handy many times to do just that. She had watched from the windows as his uncle and aunt treated him like a waste of space. She was there when he was moved into his cupboard under the stairs and became the 'slave' of the Dursleys and their maid and chef. She hated seeing him suffer like that, without knowing the world awaiting him or his family's true origins and fate.

She couldn't help him, not yet. She wasn't strong enough, and it was too early to do anything but that didn't stop her from leaving small presents in his room every birthday or the new glasses.

The Malfoys had spread the word that she was alive, but some still believed she was dead since no one knew where she lived. Dumbledore had shown up at 12 Grimmauld Place in search of her but came up empty with a glaring red sign reading, 'SOLD.' It was working in her favor, and soon she could bring Harry home.

If she couldn't be there, she could get someone else to keep a closer eye on him, Salazar could.ย  She watched with a small smile as he talked animatedly with the snake in the garden amongst the petunias he tended to daily. He would have a friend, and the childish smile on his face made it all worth it.

Soon all three were at platform 9 3โ„4, looking for the familiar platinum blondes. The train station was packed full of families bidding goodbye to their children, and it was unbelievingly loud. The red train stood out against the old and dull train station.

"There," Regulus said, gaining the other's attention and pointing at the small family of three - The Malfoys, their cousins, aunts, and uncles.

They held onto their single suitcases with a tight grip, not to drop them as they walked to their family. "Lady Malfoy and Lord Malfoy," Versailles greeted them, making them turn around at the familiar voice.

"Oh! My darling Versailles and...Regulus," She greeted, stopping short on Regulus. She was still getting used to the fact her beloved cousin was still alive and was now eleven. She bent down and hugged both of them and nodded at Thanatos, knowing his slight aversion to touch that wasn't his Mistress or Reggie's curious and gentle touch.

"You're late!" Draco pouted, annoyed at his best friends, "We could've missed the train," he berated them.

Regulus rolled his eyes and nudged Thanatos, and explained, "Because he lost his lucky socks."

The three Malfoys looked at Thanatos, the god of death, with a weird look, and he wouldn't admit that his pale cheeks had turned red. "Val got them for me," He explained, and that was enough for them. Even a blind person could see the pure love and adoration he had for her and vice versa. They had been each other's lifelines for a long time and never stopped.

The train tutted its last horn. Draco started dragging them away, excitement buzzing off the pale blonde boy. His parents rolled their eyes fondly at the sight, but Cissa still pulled him back, kissed his cheek, and whispered her goodbyes. Lucius nodded and used his other hand to pat his hair, which was slightly messy the gelled back hair.

Versailles snickered quietly at the glare the boy shot to his father. "Be safe, all of you," Aunt Cissa told the four 'children' with a stern look, and they nodded in compliance, and they soon rushed into the train and started looking around for an empty cart, but all they found were other eleven years old starting new friendships that would define their years.

They filled an empty cart, placed their minimal luggage into the top compartments, and then sat down and talked about their first year and what awaited them.

The moon was high in the sky, shrouding the Hogsmeade station in darkness with little lighting the lights gave. Everyone quickly rushed out of the bright red train. The older students helped the younger ones. Soon the first years, all dressed in robes, stood before the half-giant Hagrid, ready to get to the boats.

"Right then. This way to the boats! Come on, now, follow me," Hagrid, the keeper of keys, yelled and started walking and led the children like ducklings away from the train station.

"It's true, then, what they're saying on the train. Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts," Draco stated aloud, looking for a boy that matched the description, and his eyes fell on the petite brunette boy with glasses. He then introduced himself, "Harry Potter, I'm Draco Malfoy, heir apparent, and this is Regulus Black, heir apparent, Theta Peverell, last of his house and-"

I stepped forward, looking over my cousin, and introduced myself to the 'golden trio,' "Merry met. I am Versailles Black, Lady of the noblest and most ancient house of Black."

Harry gave me a confused look, still oblivious to the customs, while Ronald's eyes widened. Yes, that's right, behold the lady of the house, black! He gave me a fearful but dirty look. Hermione smiled with a titled head like she was dissecting my introduction.

"I'm Hermione Granger, this is Ron Weasley, and that's Harry Potter," Hermione, the ever bolder one, introduced the others.

"So a muggle-born, poor pure blood, and the chosen one. How lovely," Regulus stated plainly, wanting to leave. He still abided by the pure-blood mindset, and it would take a long time to get out of it. He also wanted to get to his old house and sleep. This was dreadfully boring; he had done it before.

"Don't call her a muggle-born!" Ron yelled at him, pointing a dirty chocolate-covered finger at him. We all shot him a glare, and Theta stepped forward. I raised an eyebrow, looked at Hermione, and asked, "Were you not raised by mundanes? There is no mention of House Ganger in any books. Your lucky that we don't call you anything else compared to some other purebloods."

"Yes, I am," she nodded, trying to diffuse the 'tension.' Harry then spoke up, asking, confused, "Sorry, what's a pureblood."

Regulus and Draco rolled their eyes, and I told him, "A pureblood is an individual with no mundane, nonmagical blood. Most pure-blood families, such as Black and Malfoys, pride themselves on it. Perhaps you'll learn more about it in the history of magic." I looked back at Theta and Reggie and muttered, "The Wizengamot really needs to reinstate more classes for mundanes."

Ron grows annoyed, huffing, "Blimey do you not know who this is" he yells, bringing my 'godbrother' in front of him and nearly shoving him in my face.

"This is Harry Potter," he yells, getting everyone's attention. "Yes, we can see that," Theta replied plainly.

"He defeated you know who. the boy who lived!!" Ron yelled, and Theta and I shared a look.

"He didn't defeat Voldemort. His mother did. We shouldn't be praising him for doing something he can't even remember," I tell them sternly, I was there, and I knew what happened, and all the stories were lies.

Harry speaks up and says with a small smile, "It's nice that you don't care about me being some chosen one. i can't even remember doing it."

I nod slowly, and he asks another question, "What's this house of black. 'Aint you a little young to be a lady, whatever that means."

I narrow my eyes, and Ron squeaks and tries to stop him. "the house of Black is one of the nobles and most ancient houses, a part of the sacred twenty-eight. do not question my position, I may be young, but I have earned my status, despite the circumstances. I suggest you head to the library at a later date and learn more about the house of Potter; you were once in the scared twenty-eight." I tell him he's going into the snake pits blind and needs to adjust, but I couldn't ruin my reputation.

Harry's eyes widened, and asks "Wait, you know about my family?"

I nod slowly and tell him, "of course, it's common knowledge. my father was best friends with your father, James Potter."

Harry's eyes water and he rushes at me and shakes me, "tell me more, please," he begs.

Draco pushes his hands off me and tells him, "you dare touch the lady of house black?!"

Before Harry burst into tears, I placed a hand on Draco's shoulder and said, "It's alright, cousin. Potter knows nothing of equity or the wizardly world, it seems." he calmed down.

I turned to Harry and told him, "Ask Headmaster Dumbledore, if he doesn't give you the answers you seek come find me and I'll tell you everything."

He nodded in thanks, and the others and I walked towards the boats and climbed in, ready to be inside and eat with the others behind me.

ย The soon-to-be golden trio watched as the blonde boy, the two quiet dark haired boys, and the black-haired girl walked away with their backs straight and heads high and climbed into a boat.

"How rude," Hermione scoffs, focused on the blond boy.

Ron fidgets and shakes his head "Not really, Harry you really shouldn't of touched Lady Black like that."

Hermione huffs sits in the boat, and asks him, "Why is everyone treating them like royalty. I haven't read about her."

Harry mumbles an apology to Ron as they get into the boat with Hermione.

"Everyone thought she was dead, but she just recently came into power. She's the lady of one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight; House Black is in the high tier. She's one of the wealthiest ladies in the Britain Wizardly world. I heard she's even got connections in the muggle world. Everyone fears her because her father, Sirius Black, went crazy and killed a bunch of muggles and is in Azkaban! She's the youngest lady ever - usually, you have to be of age to get a title, but she got it early at 9! That's what my dad says anyways," Ron informs them quietly, looking around everyone suspiciously.

"Do you think she actually knows my parents? No one wants to tell me anything," Harry whispers to Ron.

Ron nods slowly and says, "Yeah, there's a relation plus House Black has one of the biggest and extensive libraries in Britain. She did say she knows them, there's not really a reason to lie."

Hermione's eyes sparkle, and she looks at Ron and says, "The biggest library? Do you think she would let me look?"

Ron looks confused and asks, "Did you not hear what I said? She's the lady to one of the darkest houses there is. Her father is a mass murder and is locked up in prison!"

Hermione nods slowly and shrugs "You shouldn't judge someone based on their family."

Ron scowls and huffs. Hermione turns to Harry and says softly, "We really should do some research since we're a little out of depth here."

Harry just nods and keeps his eyes on the black-haired girl.

Soon the children were inside the castle and were walking up the stairs where a stern woman stood before them, Professor McGonagall.

She starts her annual speech, "Welcome to Hogwarts. Now, in a few moments, you will pass through these doors and join your classmates. But before you can take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Now while you're here, your house will be like your family. Your triumphs will earn you points. Any rule-breaking, and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup-" She was interrupted when Nevil Longbottom jumped forward onto his toad, Trevor.

She deadpans at him, ignoring his apology. She states, "The sorting ceremony will begin momentarily," and walks through the doors leaving the children alone.

"How are you feeling, being back and all?" Versailles asks Regulus as she watches him look around the school with a melancholic look in his eye but a slight smile on his lips.

"It's weird and bittersweet. Everyone is gone and it's different," he answered, finally looking at her. Versailles nodded knowingly and took his hand into hers, and squeezed it. "We'll be here to help you adjust and make new memories," she told him, and Theta rubbed his shoulder in comfort.

Professor McGonagall then returned, opened the large doors of the Great Hall, and led them all through. The students looked around in awe, seeing the four long tables filled with hundreds of students of all ages. Their eyes wandered to the roof where candles floated along, and it looked like a beautiful night sky.

"Reg, there you are," Theta jokes, pointing at the Leo Constellation and the bright star that was Regulus, the star he was named after. Reg rolled his eyes, and Draco let out a snort. So, Thanatos pointed at the Draco star with a laugh, and Draco huffed.

"It's not real, the ceiling. It's just bewitched to look like the night sky. I read about it in Hogwarts: A History," Hermione stated aloud but everyone stared around in awe.

The children walked to the front of the hall where a large table sat, sitting all of the faculty, and a four-legged stool stood in front of them with an old and musty hat - the sorting hat. The hat was patched, frayed, and extremely dirty since it had been around since the middle ages and had never been cleaned. The hat twitched like it was alive, and a rip near the brim opened like a mouth and began to sing:

"Oh, you may not think I'm pretty,

But don't judge on what you see,

I'll eat myself if you can find

A smarter hat than me.

You can keep your bowlers black,

Your top hats sleek and tall,

For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat

And I can cap them all.

There's nothing hidden in your head

The Sorting Hat can't see,

So try me on and I will tell you

Where you ought to be.

You might belong in Gryffindor,

Where dwell the brave at heart,

Their daring, nerve, and chivalry

Set Gryffindors apart;

You might belong in Hufflepuff,

Where they are just and loyal,

Those patient Hufflepuffs are true

And unafraid of toil;

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,

If you've a ready mind,

Where those of wit and learning,

Will always find their kind;

Or perhaps in Slytherin

You'll make your real friends,

Those cunning folk use any meansย

To achieve their ends.

So put me on! Don't be afraid!

And don't get in a flap!

You're in safe hands (though I have none)

For I'm a Thinking Cap!"

Versailles looked around, seeing some of the students joining in and singing along, but after it finished, the whole Hall burst into applause for some reason - he was a terrible singer.

"Now, before we begin, Professor Dumbledore would like to say a few words." McGonagall tells the young students, and Dumbledore rises from his seat in the middle of the main table. He was an old man with pale and wrinkled skin and a long white beard and had half-moon glasses, he looked like your typical grandfather, but he was powerful and hiding something dark.

"Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! I have a few start-of-term notices I wish to announce. The first years, please note that the Dark Forest is strictly forbidden to all students. Also, our caretaker, Mr. Filch, has asked me to remind you that the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a most painful death. Thank you," He says, sitting down when he finished.

McGonagall then brought the attention towards herself, "When I call your name, you will come forth. I shall place the sorting hat on your head, and you will be sorted into your houses," she explained. She looked down at the long parchment in her hands, her glasses glinting, and called out, "Hermione Granger."

The brightest witch of the generation walked up after deep breathing and sat on the stool, nearly cringing when McGonagall placed the old sorting hat on her bushy brown hair. The hat called outย Gryffindorย to no one's surprise, but Versailles thought the house of blue would've suited her much better, but Harry and Ron needed to live for the next year. Cheers echoed around the Hall.

"Draco Malfoy," she called out after Hermione walked to the loud house of red; he sauntered up to the chair after an encouraging nod from his cousin. The hat squirmed as McGonagall lowered to his head and yelled out, "Slytherin!" before it touched his white-gelled hair. The students cheered, but you could tell the difference; there was no entryism, just polite clapping.

"There isn't a witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin," Ron tells Harry, but Versailles clears her throat and states, "Merlin. He was a Slytherin"

Ron and Harry don't say anything, just share glances as they wait for their names to be called out. Susan Bones and Ron Weasley are called and sorted to Hufflepuff andย Gryffindor, respectively.

"Harry Potter," she called out with a strained voice, and everyone went silent, all eyes on the chosen one as he walked up the short stairs and sat on the stool. Everyone waits with beaten breathe as he is sorted in Gryffindor,

McGonagall cleared her throat and called out the next name with furrowed brows, "Theta Peverell" Thanatos shot Versailles a wink and walked up with confidence not usually found in a first year. He sat on the stool with a laid-back vibe, the hat stayed on his head for a while, and they spoke in hushed voices. Finally, the hat came to its decision, "SLYHERIN!"

Versailles clapped with a smile, watching him walk to the green table across from Draco. Her attention went back to McGonagall as the next name was called.

"Regulus Black?" questioned, and Versailles could see the curious and sad expression on Severus Snape's face as he watched the hat sort him into Slytherin once again; he was finally home. Severus and Regulus had been friends during their time in school; they found a quiet peace amongst the others since they were the more silent of the Slytherins and were the black sheep. With Regulus' brother Sirius and Severus' love for the muggle-born, Lily. So it was apparent he would be shocked or suspicious; he never knew Regulus had a child - if this first year was his son.

"Versailles Black!" Minnie called off the scroll and searched for the few students left. Versailles walked up the stairs and sat down, crossing her leg over the other, and the last thing she saw was the Hall, and it went black.

It was just for a brief moment, but she felt a tickle in her mind walls, and then the hate roared out, "SLYTHERIN!"

A faint smile appeared on Versailles's face, and she stood up from the chair when Minnie removed the hat and walked over to her house, ignoring the whispers and faint clapping.

Versailles walked towards my house with a straight back, poised movements, and a welcoming and charming smile on her face.

She sat snug between Theta on her left and Regulus on her right, with Draco across from them. Blaise Zabini and Pansy Parkinson sat on each side of Draco, respectively, and they all introduced themselves; they seemed nice even with the pureblood masks they wore.

Draco had been friends with Blaise and others from the sacred twenty-eight, like Theodore Nott, Crabbe and Goyle, and even Pansy. So it wasn't hard to get along since they all knew each other.

After the last student was sorted, McGonagall cleared her throat, "Your attention, please!" her stern voice echoing, and the talking ceased, and she let Dumbledore talk. He raised from his chair, stretched his hands out like a messiah to his sheep, and said, "I would like to say a few words and here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! Thank you. Let the feast...begin!"

Then a feast fit for kings appeared on the table, making the student cheer, and chatter was soon heard throughout the large Hall.

Versailles took a sip of the goblet, scrunching her nose at the taste of the pumpkin juice, and asked for water, smiling when she got a goblet of ice-cold water. It served to have her own house elf below, helping.

The house differences were glaringly obvious, with Slytherin being the quietest house, talking in hushed voices. Theย Gryffindorย house being the loudest, cheering and echoing off, creating a headache-inducing environment. The Ravenclaws were lively; most had books out, reading while eating or showing off their new books. The Hufflepuff was quiet, smiling, and hugging their friends, and I swear I saw a rainbow peak out behind a student.

I kinda hate this, definitely will be rewriting this later but whose POV do we wanna see next? I'll be doing Harry's to show a little about his life, meeting Val and the different between them and the houses.
