Chapter three...
Paul and (Y/N) were back sleeping, this time the pair were in the same bed with the girl cuddled up into his chest, her head in the crook of his neck and his arms tightly wrapped around her.
As they were sleeping, Jessica came into the room and her lips lifted up into a tiny smile at the pair together. Though the smile vanished when she remembered what she was here for.
Paul was dreaming again, and (Y/N)'s face came into view with the other girl again, "Paul.." His best friend whispered inside the dream.
Jessica was shaking Paul awake in reality, "Paul, wake up and get (Y/N) up as well."
He opened his eyes, half lidded from sleep and looked down to the girl in his arms. He smiled tiredly at her peaceful look, wondering how he got so lucky with someone like (Y/N).
Paul turned his attention to his mother, seeing her put out clothes for the pair on the end of his bed, "What's wrong?"
"Get dressed and come with me."
When Jessica walked out, Paul looked back down to the sleeping (Y/N). He tucked a piece of hair that fell on her face behind her ear, and moved his hand to caress her cheek, "Hey.. (Y/N/N) wake up." He softly spoke to her.
She groaned at this, hating when people disturbed her sleep, "What's wrong?" She opened one eye to peak up at Paul.
Paul smiled, hand still on her cheek, "Mom wants up to get up, come on."
(Y/N) pouted, wanting to sleep more but nevertheless got up groggily and got dressed in the bathroom. Paul and her now walked out hand in hand towards where Jessica was waiting, quietly making their way through the barely lit hallway.
Jessica spotted the pair, and moved a little away from the doctor that stood there, as (Y/N) and Paul followed the older woman.
"What is this?" The (E/C) eyed girl questioned lowly.
"The Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam is here. She was my teacher at the Bene Gesserit school. She's now Truthsayer to the Emperor himself." Jessica explained, looking between the confused pair, "She would like to meet you both."
Paul and (Y/N) exchanged a look, "Why?"
Jessica looked down, very hesitant to tell them that answer, "She wants to know about your dreams and wants to see (Y/N)'s powers."
The said girl looked bewildered at this. Powers? Since when? She thought in her mind, brow furrowed in deep confusion.
Paul gave a protective glance at (Y/N) then looked back to his mom appalled, "How does she know about my dreams? And since when does my best friend have powers?" Paul asked offended, getting more aggressive towards the end.
Jessica didn't answer, and she only looked back and forth between the teenagers, "And why is Dr. Yueh here?"
"He only needs a moment." Jessica answered only that and turned to walk away from the baffled pair.
"Hello, young master, my lady." Dr. Yueh greeted them, strolling forward and looked at Paul, "Your mother asked me to check both your vitals."
Dr. Yueh placed his thumb near Paul's tempel, then placed his hand against the side of his face, "What's happening?" Paul asked above a whisper.
The doctor placed his other hand on (Y/N)'s face, doing the same thing to her. She stood there really confused, a bit uncomfortable since she hated physical contact from most people.
"Bene Gesserit claims to serve the greater good. But will all due respect to your mother they also serve their own agenda." Dr. Yueh started muttering.
"What are you saying?" (Y/N) questioned, eyes narrowed down on the doctor.
"Be careful." The doctor whispered to the two, then let go of their faces suddenly.
"Their hearts are strong as ever, my lady." Dr. Yueh called out to Jessica.
Jessica nodded her head, then signed with her fingers, "Not a word of this to anyone."
The doctor nodded his head in understanding.

The best friends were following Jessica to a room and the (H/C) haired girl had a bad feeling starting to creep up on her as they got closer.
"(Y/N).. Paul.." Jessica turned around to the pair, caressing the girls cheek and patting down Paul's shouler, "Remember your training." She signed to them.
The girl nodded her head, giving Paul's hand a squeeze as she could sense him getting nervous. The boy squeezed back, their hands now lowly letting go.
Jessica put up her hood, walking towards the door of the room and opened it, walking inside with her head down. Paul and (Y/N) followed close behind.
(Y/N) observed the room, seeing a figure sitting in a chair in the middle of the room, with no face to be seen since clothing was covering it.
"Who are you?" A strong imitating voice spoke, it echoing around the room.
The childhood best friends shared another look, not answering.
"Defiance in the eyes, like his father." Reverend Mother observed the male, "Leave us."
Jessica turned to the young girl and boy, "You must do everything the Mother Helen Mohiam tells you." She whispered quickly then walked out of the room, closing the door.
(Y/N) looked at the Mother Helen Mohiam like she was insane, Paul having the same thoughts when he said out loud, "You dismiss my mother in her own house."
"Come here." (Y/N) yelped as she and Paul were moved against their own will towards the woman, "Kneel." The pair did that.
Paul looked up angrily glaring, "How dare you use the voice on me," The brunette took a glance at his best friend, seeing her in the same situation, "And how dare you use it on (Y/N)." He practically growled those last words.
Mother Helen Mohiam just stared, observing the pair closely. The woman then removed clothing that corved something laying there, seeing that a box was laying on the chair arm rest, "Put your right hand in the box." She commanded Paul.
Paul didn't move a muscle whatsoever.
"Your mother made you obey me." The woman told him and Paul sighed as he shook his head, placing his right hand into the box.
(Y/N) become worried at this and her eyes widened when something was placed near Paul's neck, "Hey-"
The girl stopped mid way when she felt the same object near the side of her neck, making her swallowed hard.
"I hold at both your becks the Gom Jabbar, a poison needle, instant death." Mother Helen Mohiam explained to the pair, "The test is simple. Remove your hand from the box, and you die." She then explained to Paul.
(Y/N) was scared for Paul, even though she shouldn't fear but her best friend might be in serious danger, so she asked, "What's in the box?"
Mother Helen Mohiams eyes moved to her, and simply answered, "Pain."
She glared, and scoffed at her words. That answer didn't make her feel any better.
"No need to call the guards. Jessica stand behind that door. No one will get past her." The older woman continued, seeing how the girl was acting.
"Why are you doing this?" Paul questioned in his smooth voice.
"An animal caught in a trap will gnaw off its own leg to escape. What will you two do?" Mother Helen Mohiam replied to his question.
With the Gom Jabbar still pointed at (Y/N)'s neck, she turned her neck the best she would to see Paul. The male tilted his head, flexing his jaw and she could only guess that the box was doing something to his hand.
Paul tilted his head down more, groaning. He exhaled as the pain continued.
(Y/N) could see tears in Paul's eyes, his face showing discomfort and he made a loud grunting noise.
"Silence." Mother Helen Mohiam ordered.
(Y/N) noticed Paul shaking, knowing he was in bad pain the girl went to say something, "Stop!"
The Gom Jabbar near her neck became closer to her neck at this, "Silence girl." Mother Helen Mohiam scolded.
She glared harder at this, eyes sharp with warning, "I-It's o-okay (Y/N).." Paul grunted, trying to reassure her even through the pain.
The (H/C) haired girl half stared at him with serious panic expressed, listening to Paul moan and whimper in discomfort.
Though suddenly all noise coming from Paul stopped. He looked up confident at Mother Helen Mohiam, the pain not effecting him anymore.
"Enough." The Gob Jabber's at the teens necks were removed and once Paul's hand was removed, seeing no harm done, (Y/N) swung her hand left towards the box and had hit it towards the other side of the room.
She gasped at this, reaching out to Paul who grabbed her shoulders and helped her stand up.
But, what the (H/C) haired girl didn't know was that she didn't even touch the box, her hand didn't touch the box. Something else inside her did.
Mother Helen Mohiam eyes went wide the slightest at this move. The woman knew what this girl was, who this girl will become.
Paul wrapped his arms ground the shocked (Y/N), and kept her against his chest.
"Like sifting sand through a screen, we sift people. If you had been unable to control your impulses like an animal, we could not have let you live." Mother Helen Mohiam told Paul, "You inherit too much power," She looked towards the still surprised (Y/N), "And you.. you are too much power."
Paul squinted his eyes, brow's scrunting together at what got said about his childhood best friend, and held her closer.
"What, because I'm a Duke's son?" Paul questioned back harsly.
"Because you are Jessica's son. You have more than one birthright, boy." She snapped right at him, moving her attention towards the door, "Jessica."
Jessica opened to door on command and walked into the room, her hood up again.
"You've been training them both in a way," Mother Helen Mohiam paused, and directed her attention back to Paul, "Tell me about these dreams."
"I had one tonight." Paul answered lowly.
"What did you see?"
"(Y/N) and a girl on Arrakis." Paul told the woman through a rasp, as the said girls head tilted up at this, and stared at Paul confused.
"Have you dreamt of them before?"
Paul swallowed hard, not waiting to answer since (Y/N) was in the same, "Many times." He breathed out.
Despite the situation, (Y/N) had to hide her flushed self in Paul's chest. Does he really have dreams about me? And why the hell didn't he tell me?! The girl stressed in her mind.
"Do you often dream things that happen just as you dreamt them?" Mother Helen Mohiam questioned again.
"Not exactly." Was all Paul's answer.
Mother Helen Mohiam stood up from her chair, collecting the box (Y/N) threw, "Goodbye, young humans. I hope you'll live." The woman then walked out with Jessica following, leaving (Y/N) and Paul alone in the room.
Once they were out the door, she got out of Paul's arms and reached up to cup his face, making his watery eyes stare at her.
(Y/N) frowned softly at his tears, "It's gonna be alright Paul, I won't let anything happen to you."
He shakes his head, and leant into her palm, "That's not what I'm afraid of." He gasped, emotions running wild now.
"Then what?" She asked quietly, rubbing her thumb across his beautiful cheek.
Paul lifted his face out of (Y/N)'s palm, moving forward and rested his forehead against hers. He closed his eyes, "Losing you is what."
She dropped the hands on his cheeks, now brushing her thumb against his closed eyes, smiling at him despite how he couldn't see it, "You won't lose me, I promise."
And she would never break that promise.
~
Jessica and Mother Helen Mohiam were walking outside, back to the ship where Mother Helen came from, and the nighttime sky was foggy outside which made it hard to see.
"Did you have to go that far?" Jessica asked, not enjoying what happened to (Y/N) and Paul.
"You chose to train them both in the Way in defiance of the rule." Mother Helen Mohiam snapped back, "They both wield our power. Your son had to be tested to the limits. So much potential wasted in the male, though that girl has much more potential than anything I've seen. Fuelled by strong emotions for the boy. You were told to bear only daughters, but you and your pride thought you could produce the Kwisatz Haderach."
"Was I wrong?" Jessica questioned softly.
Mother Helen Mohiam turned back around fast, "You're lucky he didn't die in that room, if it weren't for that girl he surely would of." The woman took a breath in, "If he is The One and if the girl is the Earth Walker they both have a long way to go. The girl especially. She has only just awakened her power and that's not even the beginning of it. But our plans are measured in centuries. We have other prospects, if they fail they're promise." She turned to walk away after her lecture.
"Do you see so little hope?" Jessica asked, defending (Y/N) and Paul.
"On Arrakis, we have done all we can for you. The path has been laid. Let's hope the children don't squander it." Mother Helen Mohiam concluded, walking up the ramp of the ship there.
As Jessica was walking away once the ship started to leave, she spotted a distant figure in the fog, "Paul.."
"What does it mean? That I could be The One and (Y/N) could be the Earth Walker?" Paul asked strongly.
"You heard?" His mother whispered with remorse, "The Bene Gesserit serve as powerful partner to the great houses, but there's more to it."
"You stir the politics on the Imperium from the shadows. I know." He spoke lowly through the distance between them, his figure just barely seen with all the fog around.
"You don't know everything. For thousands of years, we've been carefully crossing bloodlines to bring forth-"
Paul interrupted his mother quickly, "The One? And the Earth Walker?"
"A mind.. two minds powerful enough to breach space and time, past and future. Who can help us into a better future. We think they're very close now. Some believe they are here." Jessica explained, trying not worry her son.
"All part of the plan." Paul felt betrayed, smiling tightly. Though his face suddenly became angry, "You promised me she wouldn't get involved." He hissed.
Jessica knew who he was talking about, (Y/N). The woman shook her head, "I tried Paul but she's more important than you could ever understand-"
"I love her so much, Mom." He breathed his confession, tears in his eyes again, "It's you that doesn't understand. I can't bare the thought of knowing she could get hurt because of this."
Jessica stood there conflicted, not truly understanding how much Paul was in love with (Y/N). The boy would die for her, do anything for her in a heartbeat. With no questions asked.
"I'm sorr-" His mother tried apologising to her son but he just shakes his head, waving his hand to say stop and walked away.
He didn't spare one glance at his Mother.
