Chapter four...

It was the next day, and (Y/N) was dressed up in her normal outfit similar to Paul's as she watched him bend down to look at the grass growing on the ground.

Paul stood up, turning to her and reached out his gloved hand for her to take. The girl smiled and took it, the two of them watching a ship appear from under the water. Both of them walked down towards the beach.

When they arrived at the water there, Paul brought up (Y/N)'s hand to his mouth and placed a kiss on the back of it then had let go of it. He dipped his hand into the water feeling it.

She looked over to where he was, and walked up to stand behind him. The male sensed her and stood up.

Paul smiled softly at her and his attention was brought away as the sun shined. He stared dead ahead at it. A cold look expressed. (Y/N) never understood how his expression changed so easily.

~

(Y/N) and Paul were in a hanger of a ship, surrounded with soldiers from Atreides. Standing in the middle of them all, getting ready to walk out to greet people.

"Shields." A voice commanded. The soldiers followed, turning on the invisible shields.

Paul reached over to (Y/N) and grabbed her hand, making the girl send him a small smile. A sudden noise broke the pair apart, the hanger door was opening, a bright light coming through making her squint her (E/C) eyes.

The Duke turned his head towards (Y/N) and Paul, giving them both a reassuring look, then turned back around when the door fully opened.

"'My lungs taste the air of Time, Blown past falling sands.'" Gurney quoted.

A man with bagpipes started playing, walking out of the hanger while playing them.

Gurney walked out after, the rest of the soldiers following. (Y/N) and Paul close behind, the girl was looking around at the people on Arrakis, seeing how they had flags to represent.

"Thufir Hawat."  The duo exclaimed excited, them both now jogging a little to greet the male. Both hugging him by his side, the male returned their hug with joy.

"Young master, Lady (Y/N), how does it feel to walk on the new world?" Their friend Thufir asked, smiling kindly.

The childhood friends smiled at each other, "Exciting, to say the least."

The Duke walked up to the trio, smiling and Thufir bowed in respect, "My Lord."

"How are you, old friend?" The Duke patted the older mans arm, asking.

"My advance team has secured the city. We're still smoothing out a few rough spots." He replied, serious now.

The Duke just nodded his head, giving a friendly pat again to Thufir. Then he started to walk away with the everyone following behind from Atrieds.

As (Y/N) was walking beside Paul she heard a group of people shouting something— actually shouting two things, "Lisan al-Gaib!" and "Ardah Waker!" (Y/N) and Paul turned to each other confused, and the male grabbed her and pulled her closer to his side.

They had arrived at a Ornithopter that was ready for them to use. Paul and his mother walked inside while (Y/N) stood back, watching the people who were shouting with interest.

"(Y/N)." At her name being called, she snapped out of her stare and saw Paul standing there with a concerned face, reaching out and caressing her cheek gently, "Are you alright?"

She nodded into his palm, giving him a shaky smile and walked up the ramp of the Ornithopter, sitting down next to Paul with Jessica on the other side of (Y/N).

"Let's get you of out the sun." Thufir told them, and started to fly the Ornithopter, "The heat can kill in this place."

When they were getting ready to fly, (Y/N) decided to ask Jessica something, "They were pointing at us. What were they shouting?"

"Lisan al-Gaib 'The Voice from the Outer World' It's their name for 'messiah', and 'Ardah Waker' means the Earth Walker. A legend that hasn't been seen for centuries. It all means that Bene Gesserit have been at work here." Jessica answered her curiosity, staring at the confused woman.

"Planting superstitions?" Paul joined into the conversation.

"Preparing the way, (Y/N), Paul. These people have waited centuries for the Lisan al-Gaib and the Ardh Waker. They see you both, they see the signs."

"They see what they've been told to see." Paul mutterd, looking down and (Y/N) grabbed his hand, giving him a sad smile.

"We're good to go." Thufir said and the Ornithopter started hovering above the ground, flying off towards the city.

(Y/N) looked out the windshield, eyes wide seeing the massive walls around the city.

"Shield walls, protects the city from the weather and the worms." Thufir explained, almost like he knew what she was thinking.

~

The childhood best friends walked around the city once they arrived, ending up outside seeing massive palms and a guy watering them.

"Hello." (Y/N) greeted the man gently, waving her hand.

The male looked up from his watering, "You both shouldn't be out here at this hour of the day."

"There are out here." She pointed the a cell full of people.

The man hummed, "Fremen pilgrims. They don't care about heatstroke."

"I didn't know date palms could even be found here." Paul spoke, observing the plants there.

"Oh, these aren't indigenous. They can't survive without me. Each one of these drinks every day like the equivalent of five man. Twenty palm trees. A hundred lives." The gardner replied.

"Should we removed them? Save the water?" Paul questioned, hands behind his back.

"No. No." The male gestured to the trees, "These are sacred. Old dream." He turned back to (Y/N) and Paul at the last sentence.

~

"The largest and the most dangerous organism on Arrakis is the sandworm. Capable of reaching 400 meters in length." A voice recording was playing along with a video as (Y/N) and Paul sat on their new bed together watching.

(Y/N) was laying against Paul's chest, her body in his lap and his arms were loosely wrapped around her waist, resting his head on top of hers while they watched and listened.

"To avoid making rhythmic noises which attract the sandworms, the Freman cross desert spaces using the sand walk, a dance-like motion with irregular rhythm. Which emulates the natural sounds of the desert." The recording switched to saying else, "What scant plan life exists on Arrakis is thanks to the Fremen, who have cultivated deep-rooted terrain plants such as saguaro, burrobush, sand verbena and incense bush. The shepherd's tree has the deepest documented roots, stretching more than 450 feet deep."

(Y/N) saw a little animal in the video, making her aw out loud, "It's so cute."

Paul smiled tenderly down at her. If only she knew how much he adored her. He was starting to think maybe he should confess to her, tell her how much he loved her.

The video continued but suddenly (Y/N) heard a noise, and it causes the girl freeze in Paul's lap.

"Don't move." He whispered against her ear, going to get up and see what the noise was, though (Y/N) placed a gentle hand against his chest, stopping him from moving.

The girl got up instead, and Paul started to panic seeing her do this, "What are you doing?!" He whispered yelled.

(Y/N) just made a 'be quiet' gesture with her finger, and moved towards the video. There was a deadly Hunter Seeker in the room with them.

She moved into the video carefully, hiding herself in it and Paul slowly crept up behind her, his chest touching her back as they watched silently.

(Y/N) tried not to make a noise when the Hunter Seeker came directly in front of her eye. She held her breath at this, trying not to move a muscle and felt Paul's arms tense around her.

Before any harm could be done, the door swung open to reveal a servant and (Y/N) threw the Hunter Seeker towards the wall without touching it with her hand, using her mystery power again. Paul had caught it and smashed it against the wall.

(Y/N) exhaled when Paul destroyed it, watching as he opened his hand, "It's a hunter-seeker. The operator must be nearby."

~

"Sir, I failed you today. There's no excuse." Thufir told The Duke and Lady Jessica ashamed, "You have my resignation."

"You'd deprive us of your talents?" The Duke said appalled.

"Sir, my honor demands-"

"They tried to take the life of my son and (Y/N)!" The Duke yelled angry, "I don't give a damn about your honor. You want absolution? Go catch some spies."

"Your Grace." Thufir bowed his head and went off.

~

After the incident with the Hunter Seeker, Paul kept (Y/N) extra close to his side. Closer than before. The two of them walking into the meeting The Duke was having.

"Your first strategy meeting. (Y/N) (L/N) who throws hunter-seekers without touching it and Paul Atreides, who catches hunter-seekers in his bare hands. Like heroes of all." Gurney said to everyone in slight pride, the crowd laughing and applauding them.

(Y/N) rolled her eyes at his, giving a friendly hit on Gurney's shoulder,  and followed Paul to sit down next to him.

"Attention!" A person at the table called, and everyone stood up at the show of The Duke walking to the table.

The Duke touched (Y/N)'s back and did the same to Paul, patting it than sat down. The girl was in the middle of the two. "Let's get started."

Everyone sat down, "Thufir, operations." The Duke questioned.

"I've secured a copy of the Harkonnens account books." The people at the table started muttering at what Thufir said, "The Harkonnens were taking 10 billion solaris out of here every year."

"'They shall suck at the abundance of the seas and on the treasures hidden in the sand.'" Gurney quoted, hands folded on the table.

"We won't see profits like that for a while, not with the equipment they left us." Thufir said.

"How bad is it?" The Duke asked.

~

Thufir led everyone outside to see big containers of something there on the ground.

"These are spice silos. We are meant to fill every crate." Thufir explained to the group, umbrella in his hand to protect him from the sun.

"All of them?" (Y/N) asked from beside The Duke, Paul and Gurney.

Thufir turned to look at her, "Every 25 standard days. Harkonnen sabotage slows us down."

"But who's meant to arbitrate?" Paul questioned after her, "Isn't there a Judge of the Change to oversee the transition?"

"Who did the Emperor appoint?" Gurney asked.

"Dr. Leit Kynse, imperial ecologist." Thufir answered, "Been here 20 years. Eccentric from what I'm told."

"I want to see these harvesting fields myself." The Duke said.

"I wouldn't recommend it, my lord." Thufir warned.

The Duke gestured with his chin, "Have this Judge of the Change accompany us. Our meeting is long overdue. And we'll get a bit of imperial protection."

Gurney smiled, "A hostage? I love it."

(Y/N) shot the old man a look, who in return just shrugged his shoulders.

Thufir pressed the chip behind his ear, "He's here, my lord."
