13| MONOZYGOTIC TWINS
They know how to coexist with and live in harmony with nature. They didn't make a concerted effort to be all men and no animals. When Darwin arrived, they made the same error. They smiled as they hugged him, Huxley, and Freud. Then they learned that Darwin and their own beliefs were discordant. They didn't think they did, at least. They were bumbling idiots. They sought to persuade Darwin, Huxley, and Freud to change their minds. They wouldn't be able to move around very effectively. So, like morons, they attempted to annihilate religion.
They were particularly fruitful. They had relinquished faith and were left wondering what life was all about. What good was existence if art, was nothing more than a thwarted manifestation of desire, and theology, was nothing more than self-delusion? Faith had always given us retorts to all things. But it all went down the drain with Freud and Darwin. We were and still are lost people.
Life was just the very same for professor Kim, he sat there staring into the awning, he got a fleeting elation, a weird sense of satisfaction seeing his brother suffer like that, his own brother suffering in a downside horror.
Kim Sejin, Kim Seojin: Born on the fourth of December 1995, twins to the famous scientist Kim Jonghin and his wife, Danielle. They were twins, Monozygotic twins.
Life for the duo was much more arduous than any Korean drama, oh and in 2076 Korean Dramas weren't much popular anymore.
...
Seojin deemed the interlude like a stop sign. It didn't mean he would stop forever. He would stop, look around to increase his awareness of the surroundings, and proceed when it's safe to do so. Pause, he would pause and continue only when he was out of pain and terror.
He would take his time, his stints to wake up and again fall back into the profound slumber which would comfort his wretched soul that was berserk at the sudden trampoline of reality.
He curled up tightly on his bed, his body a battleground of conflicting emotions. He couldn't escape the vivid nightmares that plagued his sleep, each bringing fresh waves of pain and terror. It seemed like his subconscious had become a breeding ground for acoustic horror.
He would open his eyes wide, taking his turn to look on the sides only to find his beloveds still stuck in the old stance and nothing made him look anymore. He would close his eyes and fall back into the arms of deeper rest. This was the only way that made sense to him, nothing else was even a truth close to it.
Why was everything in a connotation of a trick, why was all of this so unbelievable yet true?
All of this felt like an error, a video game paused at a certain spot and somebody would soon press the play button and things would rewind soon and fall back into their place. His life would again be complete.
He ventured through the city streets, the blurred shapes of buildings and people serving as a constant reminder of his incomplete existence. The laughter and conversations around him were gone, as if he was trapped in a bubble of his own making. He longed to break free, to untangle the threads that kept him suspended in this surreal limbo.
He slipped through unlocked houses, stole money, made fun of people... Yet they remained in their own world. Long gone and static. The whole world seemed to ignore his existence, locking away themselves from the sustaining materialistic world, from him.
He began to question the reality that surrounded him. Were the people he loved really frozen in time, or was he the one trapped in a never-ending loop? It seemed impossible to comprehend, yet it felt so real. He couldn't shake off the feeling of being stuck in a glitched dimension, with no way out.
Contrary to everything, he was still in the haste of everything that had barely slipped into his life, a life which wasn't anything sort of television show, or any animated movie that held a static pause being the main plot twist.

Monozygotic twins or the so-called identical twins are the product of the division of a zygote, created by fertilization of one ovum by one sperm cell. The stimuli for monozygotic twinning are incompletely understood.
The belief that twins share a particular bond beyond that of ordinary siblings is one of the esoteric secrets blended with them. While the twin link is unquestionably unique, some people believe it is blessed with remarkable, psychic qualities.
Because monozygotic twins have a closer genetic connection, extrasensory perception or ESP, is thought to be more common in them.
One of the intriguing phenomena associated with monozygotic twins is the concept of twin telepathy. It is commonly believed that due to their closer genetic connection, ESP might be more prevalent in these individuals. In some cases, one twin experiences physical sensation mirroring those occurring in their co-twin. For instance, a twin in Italy felt unexplained abdominal pains simultaneously with her sister going into premature labour.
Anecdotal evidence further supports the idea of twin telepathy. Twins often report engaging in similar actions when physically separated, such as purchasing the same item, ordering the same meal at a restaurant, or coincidentally calling each other at the exact moment. They might even appear to know each other's thoughts, speaking simultaneously or completing each other's sentences. Some experts refer to these occurrences as a potential telepathic connection between twins.
Rather than calling it telepathy, some experts explain these occurrences as "mirroring" or "modelling."

In the darkest corners of a forgotten city, where shadows swallowed hope and despair hung heavy in the air, dwelled a man named Kim Sejin. He was known to many as Perhaps, a name whispered with fear and trepidation. But what is it that turned a man into a villain? Was it a twisted fate or a series of wrong choices?
Professor Kim or Kim Sejin sat right in front of the screen. For fifty long years, he had been haunted by the ghosts of his past, more disillusioned by the things he hadn't done than by the ones he had. In the depths of his heart, a darkness had taken root. It whispered to him, urging him to be more ruthless, to inflict a pain that could never be erased. It wasn't enough to simply hurt his brother; he desired something more sinister, something that would forever scar his very soul; maybe pull out his claws or gauge his eyes or maybe clip off his limbs to heal them with heaps of salt.
This was not the first time he had plotted against his own flesh and blood. He had already played with Jin's mind, weaving a web of deceit to make him believe in a false reality. Professor Kim had created a meticulously crafted illusion, where Jin believed he had a loving family and a life filled with joy. But it was all an act, a beautifully orchestrated performance, designed to bring Jin unimaginable suffering in the end.
It wasn't 2022, Seojin never had a family, and he was never happy; this was all a beautifully made artificial reality for Jin only to suffer in the end.
Fury was one hell of a companion, and life was a magnificent ordeal.
The whole thing felt like something out of a fairy tale, but he was led to believe that the spell could never be broken. He was enraged and frustrated, and no amount of suffering seemed to satisfy his soul. He was always eager for more, for more of his suffering to feed his soul. He loathed more hurt for his twin and nothing could surmise for his hunger.
"Professor."
Jaden's voice mirrored through the room, gaining his attention in a sudden jolt.
"What?" Sejin didn't turn around, his eyes still not leaving his brother's silhouette on the screen.
"I have never asked you, but why do you hate him so much when he has only adored you? He is your twin, isn't he? Don't you think you should give up?"
Sejin turned away from the screen, finally facing Jaden with eyes filled with bitterness. "Why should I give up revenge? On behalf of what? Moral principles? And what about the bigger courts, in where evil deeds are punished?"
He took a breath, a long driven one before getting on again, "For you, the act of revenge is bad, tasteless, unethical, and wrong. I am a scientist, Jaden. Every action for me awaits an equal and opposite reaction. All I want is his pain. His pain feeds my happiness."
"Prof-"
"Why did they always love him but not me?" Sejin's voice cracked and tears trickled down his face. "I was better than him in everything, every little thing! I wanted to follow my dad into being the perfect son, to become a scientist just like him, whereas he chose fame, the television. Yet, he was loved, why?"
"But, sir, he didn't do anything-"
"It is him, Jaden, just him!" Sejin's voice rose to a crescendo. "Whenever I tried to snatch a little bit of their attention, he would scramble, destroying me, my happiness, and become the hero! It is him!"
"Professor, please -"
"You don't know, I, I had fallen sick and he told dad that I was possessed. You don't know what happened to me, what pain I have been through," he continued, his voice trembling with the weight of his pain. "I begged to him, kept calling for him, I knew he could save me, but he did not. The golden child sat back, enjoying my pain, and I burned." The memories flooded back, vivid and searing, like scars etched into his very soul.
Jaden reached out and gently touched Sejin's shoulder, "Professor, I understand that you have suffered, but revenge will not heal your wounds. It will only perpetuate the cycle of pain."
Sejin looked into Jaden's eyes, searching for something he hadn't found before, "Will it really? Will he feel what I did?"
"No..." Jaden smiled morosely.
"What do I do, then? How do I let go?"
Jaden paused, carefully choosing his words. "You must find it within yourself to forgive. Forgiveness does not mean condoning someone's actions or forgetting the pain they caused. It is about releasing the burden that comes with seeking revenge and taking control of your own happiness."
Sejin's anger began to ebb, replaced by a glimmer of hope. "And if I forgive him, will I finally find peace?"
Jaden nodded gently. "It may not be easy, and it may take time, but forgiveness has the power to heal. By letting go of the desire for revenge, you can reclaim your happiness and find the peace you deserve."
"What if I don't want peace?"
