not trying to offend anyone, it's just my opinion with a valid explanation. if you do this then honestly idk what to tell you. just know this whole ai thing is too much.

idk who needs to hear this, but if you use ai to "edit" your grammar/punctuation, you're still using ai and an ai detector might still detect it because what ai does is rephrase/rewrite your OWN work and make it more "professional" or "fancy" for you with AI HELP. the bot rewrites the section you want to "revise" for you. that still counts as an ai bot writing your story for you.

most awards judge for grammar don't they? then why would you accept a user who "checks/edits" their work like this with ai?

i get apps that proofread your stories and help with grammar and all, that's no issue, but ai doesn't just do that. ai changes your whole sentence into a new one. it changes the whole structure. it doesn't let you think about a possible way to change it because IT DOES THE CHANGE FOR YOU!! and the change isn't just from "to" to "for" or smth like that. it changes the whole sentence to say the same thing but in a different way. that's not being creative or anything. just think about it like this, why should i give points for a bot doing most of the work?

imo that's just unfair to those that don't ask a bot to do that but just imo.

if an award accepts this type of story then ffs they better check for ai in an ai detector and if they detect a percentage of ai then pls disqualify. if ai is detected you won't know if it's because of a simple "grammar edit" or because of a bot completely writing the story for the user. you're blindly trusting someone who told you it was just to check their grammar. that's not fair.

trust me, when you tell chatgpt to revise your work and you copy exactly what's on it then your work will show up to be exactly what's it is— ai written work. no matter if you did it or not, ai still did a big part of it which is editing your mistakes.

once again guys those apps/websites like grammarly/prowritingaid that's fine. tho it is still ai, there's a big difference from editing in this way to asking chatgpt to make your edits. THATS what i'm referring to. and if you use the ones i mentioned, you have to keep in mind they're ai tools too. don't just copy and paste it directly. you should always do alterations of your own to your texts.

i'm just saying this in general. not just for wattpad/awards or fanfic writing, but for irl work that you guys do. detecting ai is so simple and easy nowadays. please be very careful and mindful about what you use ai for and how you use it.

i still state that no ai is allowed here and i will be checking for it too. i don't want to worry you guys about it if you use apps like grammarly/prowritingaid, but getting smth straight from chatgpt is VERY easy to detect, VERY much noticeable.

im not condemning you for using ai. i've used all three before and i can tell what each of them do and how each work. what i want is for people to submit ORIGINAL work to be recognized. work that does not include another help like chatgpt. chatgpt is like another human being. it's scary but it's true. the other apps are not. they won't fix your writing like chatgpt does, and that's why there's a huge difference.

just go with the flow and be creative guys. even if you have a few errors here and there, that's ok. don't let ai rule over you.
