Where do we land in the Black Sea?

๐ธโ๐'๐ expression shifted, his usual composure cracking as he raised his hand to signal Jane. "Enough," he commanded softly, his voice filled with both shock and wonder. Jane obeyed immediately, releasing Edward from her torturous grip, and Rain slowly loosened her hold on Jane's brother. The vampire boy staggered back, rubbing his neck, glaring at Rain as she calmly walked over to stand beside Bella.
Aro's eyes twinkled with intrigue as he studied Rain. "You would help a creature like us?" he asked, his tone laced with amusement, his smile creeping back as if savoring the situation.
Rain's gaze remained steady, cold as ice. "I'm not doing it for him or anyone," she replied, her voice flat but sharp. "I just want to get out of here and go home."
Her words hung heavy in the air, and Bella's eyes turned toward Rain, as if seeking some kind of connection, but Rain didn't meet her gaze. Instead, her focus stayed on Aro, her patience visibly waning.
Aro chuckled softly. "Fascinating," he murmured, stepping closer to Rain. He extended his hand toward her, palm open in invitation. "May I?" he asked, his smile returning, as though he were about to unwrap a precious gift.
Rain hesitated for a moment before stepping forward, her cold, defiant eyes meeting his. Slowly, she placed her hand in his. Aro's expression changed instantly, his usual excitement dimming as a black abyss consumed his vision. He saw nothingโonly the dark, endless waters of a violent ocean swirling around him.
He blinked, startled, pulling his gaze from the void, and looked at her in wonder. "My, my," he breathed, barely containing his astonishment. "You are a marvel, such a rare creature." He stepped closer, his voice dropping to a reverent whisper. "But, may I see? Truly see?"
Rain's eyes bore into him for a long, cold moment. She knew what he was askingโwhat it would mean to let him in. After a beat of silence, she relented, letting down the mental barrier that had kept her memories locked away. Aro's grip tightened as the images flooded his mind.
He saw chaos. He saw her kind, her family, massacred in unimaginable ways. Their screams echoed in his mind, the sheer brutality of it searing into his thoughts. Blood, water, the tearing of flesh. The haunting, black ocean consumed everything in its path, a never-ending cycle of death and destruction.
Aro staggered, his breath catching as he pulled his hand away from Rain. His face was full of sorrow as he whispered, "You poor creature..."
Rain yanked her hand back, instantly blocking him again, her siren song filling her mind to keep himโand anyone elseโout. But she knew it was too late. She could feel Edward's eyes on her, the subtle shift in his expression that told her he had seen it too. He had read her mind.
Aro, recovering his composure, straightened and spoke gently, "You could join us, you know. With your power, you would be a welcome addition among our ranks. You could have anything you desireโpower, protection, the freedom to be what you are."
Rain looked at him, her expression unreadable. "I don't want your power, or your protection," she said, her voice cutting through the air like a blade. "I just want to go home."
Aro tilted his head, studying her carefully, his smile now fading into something almost... human. He nodded, a gesture of reluctant acceptance. "Very well. You may go."
Rain stepped back, ready to leave when Bella's voice broke the silence. "Rain, waitโ"
Rain turned toward her, her eyes colder than Bella had ever seen them. "Don't," she said firmly, her voice carrying the weight of a thousand storms. There was no room for debate, no warmth in her tone. Just finality.
Bella froze, her words dying on her lips as Rain turned away. Without another glance at the vampires or anyone else, she strode through the doors, leaving the chamberโand everything in itโbehind her.
As the heavy doors closed behind her, Aro watched with a mixture of fascination and regret. "What an extraordinary creature," he murmured to himself.
But Rain didn't care. She was done with them. Done with all of it. The world of vampires, their games, their powerโit was not her world.
Rain trudged up the driveway, the cool night air chilling her skin as the exhaustion weighed heavy on her bones. She hadn't slept in what felt like days, her limbs aching from the constant tension, her mind a whirlwind of everything that had happened. All she wanted was the safety of home, to collapse in her bed and shut out the world. But she couldn't escape the anxiety gnawing at her as she approached the house, knowing her father would be waitingโand probably furious.
The front door swung open before she even made it halfway up the path, and there was Charlie, storming out onto the porch with a look of fiery anger. His mouth opened to yell, his voice already rising, "Rain! Where the hell have you been? Do you have any idea how worried I'veโ"
But then he stopped, his eyes locking onto her, and his anger melted away in an instant. Charlie's face softened with concern as he took in her fragile, tired state. Her shoulders were slumped, her clothes wrinkled, her face pale. She looked... broken.
Charlie's heart clenched, and without another word, he rushed down the steps and wrapped her in his arms. Rain collapsed against him, feeling the weight of everything catch up to her as she let out a shaky breath. His embrace was warm and comforting, the only place she felt truly safe.
"It's okay, kid," Charlie murmured, his voice low and gentle as he held her tight. "I'm here. You're okay."
For a moment, Rain didn't say anything, just buried her face in his shoulder, trying to pull herself together. Charlie held her for what felt like hours, his hands rubbing soothing circles on her back, giving her time to breathe, to feel grounded.
After a while, Charlie pulled back, cupping her face in his hands. "Come on, let's get you inside," he said softly.
They walked together into the house, and Rain sank into the couch as Charlie hovered nearby, his eyes still filled with worry. He pulled up a chair and sat across from her, leaning forward, his elbows on his knees as he waited for her to speak. Rain stared at the floor for a long time before finally lifting her head.
"We were in Italy," she whispered, her voice cracking. "Bella... she took me to get Edward back."
Charlie's brows furrowed, his lips parting as he processed her words. He didn't push for more, didn't ask questions. He just nodded, letting her go at her own pace.
Rain rubbed her hands together, feeling the raw skin on her knuckles from gripping onto so much tension. "It was... intense. I don't even know how to describe it. But I don't want to be with Bella tonight, Dad. I can't."
Charlie's expression softened even more, and he nodded without hesitation. "You don't have to, sweetheart. You don't have to do anything you don't want to tonight."
He reached for his phone and dialed Sam's number, standing up to walk a few steps away but keeping his eyes on Rain. "Hey, Sam? I need a favor. Could Rain stay with you tonight? Yeah, she's safe, just... just tired. Alright, thanks. I'll bring her by in a bit."
Charlie hung up and walked back over, kneeling in front of her. "Sam said it's no problem. We'll head over whenever you're ready, okay?"
Rain nodded gratefully, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. "Thanks, Dad."
Charlie sat with her in silence for a few minutes, just letting the peace settle over the room. The quiet was soothing, a welcome change from the chaos of the last few days. Rain felt herself relax for the first time, but before she could fully sink into the comfort, the front door burst open.
"Rain?" Bella's voice echoed through the house, and Rain stiffened, her whole body going rigid.
Bella rushed into the living room, her eyes wide and frantic, clearly having expected to find Rain here. Relief washed over her face for a split second before it twisted into anger. "Where the hell did you go? You just left me there! After everything we went throughโ"
But Charlie stepped in front of Rain, cutting Bella off with a furious glare. "Enough, Bella," he snapped, his voice firm and unyielding. "Rain's been through enough tonight. You don't get to come in here and yell at her."
Bella opened her mouth to argue, but Charlie wasn't having it. "She's going to Sam's for the night. She doesn't want to be with you right now, and you're not going to force her."
Bella's eyes flicked between Charlie and Rain, her frustration evident, but she knew better than to argue with Charlie when he was like this. She exhaled sharply, crossing her arms.
Rain stood up suddenly, her hands clenched into fists at her sides as she stared at the floor, her heart pounding in her chest. She could feel the anger bubbling up inside her, a volcano that had been dormant for too long and was now ready to erupt. She took a deep breath, trying to hold it back, but the fire inside was too strong.
"I need to speak to Bella," Rain said quietly, her voice tight with tension as she glanced at her father.
Charlie looked at her with concern but nodded. "Alright," he said, his voice soft. He knew better than to argue with her in this state. He gave Bella a quick look before stepping out of the room, leaving them alone.
Bella stood there, her arms crossed defensively as if she already knew what was coming. Rain didn't look at her for a moment, her eyes locked on the ground as she tried to keep her emotions in check. The silence stretched on, the tension in the room thick enough to choke on.
"Sit down," Rain said, her voice low and controlled, but there was an edge to it that made Bella flinch.
Bella hesitated, still standing stubbornly, and that hesitation was all it took to break the thin thread of control Rain had been holding on to.
"NOW!" Rain roared, her Siren voice booming through the room with such force that the windows rattled. Bella's knees buckled, and before she could even think to resist, she found herself sitting on the couch, her eyes wide with shock.
Rain's chest heaved as she took a step closer, her eyes blazing with fury. She had never felt this angry before, never felt this wild, uncontrollable rage coursing through her veins like molten lava. She could barely contain it.
"You selfish, recklessโ" Rain started, her voice trembling with the weight of everything she was holding back. "Do you even realize what you've done? What you've put me through?" Her hands shook as she spoke, the fury bubbling over, unstoppable now. "You dragged me into your mess, Bella. You didn't care what it cost me, didn't even think twice about how dangerous it was. You only cared about Edward!"
Bella opened her mouth to argue, but Rain cut her off before she could get a word out.
"Shut up!" Rain snapped, her voice like a whip. "You don't get to talk right now! You don't get to defend yourself! Not after everything you put me through."
Rain started pacing, her movements sharp and erratic as she tried to find a way to channel all the anger inside her. "You didn't give a damn about what I wanted. You didn't care that I had no say in this, that I was dragged into a situation that could've killed me! Do you even know how close I came to not making it out of there? No. You don't. Because all you cared about was getting Edward back."
Her voice shook with anger as she continued, the words spilling out like poison. "Do you think I'm just here to follow you around and clean up your messes, Bella? Do you think I don't have my own life, my own limits? You put me in danger without a second thought! You used me."
Bella's eyes filled with tears, but Rain didn't care. She didn't care if Bella felt guilty, didn't care if she was hurt. Rain was too furious to care about anything other than the betrayal she felt, the deep sense of abandonment.
"You act like everything revolves around you," Rain spat. "Like your problems are the only ones that matter. But guess what, Bella? The world doesn't revolve around you. I don't revolve around you. You took me to that place, knowing full well what we were walking into. You didn't even warn me. You let me face things I wasn't prepared for, things that are still haunting me, and for what? So you could get your boyfriend back? So you wouldn't feel alone?"
Bella tried to speak, her voice small and trembling. "Rain, Iโ"
But Rain wasn't done. She wasn't even close. "I could've died, Bella!" she shouted, her voice shaking with the force of her emotions. "Do you get that? I could've died, and you didn't care. You dragged me into this nightmare, and now, all I'm left with is the scars! You put me at risk, you put my life on the line, and you didn't even think twice. You just assumed I would follow you like always."
Tears were streaming down Bella's face now, but Rain felt no sympathy. Not yet.
"You can cry all you want," Rain said coldly, "but it doesn't change the fact that you put me in danger because of your selfishness. You didn't think about anyone but yourself, and that's what hurts the most, Bella. You didn't care."
The room was silent except for the sound of Bella's quiet sobs, and for a moment, Rain just stood there, her chest heaving, her whole body trembling from the intensity of her emotions. She had never let herself feel this kind of rage before, never let herself explode like this. But it was out now, and there was no taking it back.
Finally, Rain turned to Bella, her voice quieter but no less furious. "I'm not your sidekick, Bella. I'm not your pawn. You don't get to use me and toss me aside when it's convenient for you. I'm done with that."
Bella looked up at her, her face streaked with tears, her voice barely a whisper. "I'm sorry..."
Rain scoffed, shaking her head. "Sorry isn't good enough this time."
