𝕀𝕋 had been a couple of days since the incident with Jacob at the movie theatre, and Bella had been trying to call him repeatedly, but he didn't answer. The lack of response left her feeling a mix of frustration and hurt, which she also directed toward Rain, beginning to ignore her sister. The skies mirrored Bella's mood, heavy and grey, pouring down rain.

Charlie and Harry were preparing for a day of fishing, dressed in their gear. Charlie noticed Bella hanging up the phone with a sigh. "Okay. We should be back around three," he said, looking between his daughters. Rain was curled up on the couch, engrossed in a book.

Charlie approached Bella, his expression soft with concern. "Hey. Look, I don't have to go fishing today," he offered, trying to comfort her.

Harry, sensing the father-daughter moment, interjected, "Yes, you do."

Bella waved off her father's concern. "Yeah, you do. Go. What are you talking about? Just be careful."

Charlie smiled at her, grateful for her support. "Always am. And maybe I'll catch a bigger fish than Rain this time, though I still have no idea how you do it," he teased, kissing Rain on the head. Rain chuckled and replied, "Maybe the fish just like me better. It's my charm." Charlie laughed, shaking his head. "That must be it."

Harry turned to Bella with a playful grin. "Those bears won't get the drop on me, Bella. My kung fu is strong."

Rain chuckled and added, "I don't doubt that."

With smiles and chuckles, the two men left the house. As the door closed, Bella grabbed a jacket and headed towards it. Rain looked up from her book, concerned. "Where are you going? Also fishing?" Bella sighed, exasperation evident in her voice. "Just out. I need to speak with Jake."

Rain put her book down and stood up. "What if Jake's busy?"

Bella shot her a determined look. "I don't care. He will hear what I have to say."

Rain sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose, knowing this wasn't going to end well. "This isn't a good idea." Ignoring her sister's advice, Bella walked out the door. Rain quickly grabbed her own jacket and followed, trying to dissuade her. "Bella, wait! You know you don't have to do this right now. Give him some space." Bella turned, clearly irritated. "Rain, please. I need to do this alone."

Rain shook her head, determined. "You know I don't listen, right? I'm stubborn like that."

With a resigned sigh, Bella climbed into the truck, and Rain joined her. They drove off toward Jacob's house in the pouring rain, the tension between the sisters palpable as they made their way through the gloomy weather.

As the rain poured heavily, Erian emerged from the forest with the rest of the pack. His sharp eyes caught sight of Jacob talking to Bella and Rain, who stood beside them. Erian had heard about Rain from Sam. She was the younger sister of Bella and, unbeknownst to most, she was a siren. Her secret was well-guarded, but the shifters, the wolves, knew from her scent and their shared history.

Erian's gaze lingered on Rain. She seemed to be trying to calm her sister down, her gentle demeanour contrasting sharply with Bella's rising frustration. Despite the downpour, he could see Rain hugging herself against the cold, shivering slightly. A sudden, inexplicable urge surged through him to go over there and help her, to shield her from the rain with his own warmth. He fought that urge.

"Jacob!" Erian called out, his voice cutting through the noise of the rain. His call caught their attention, but the heavy downpour obscured his view of Rain.

Jacob and Bella exchanged a few words before Jacob reluctantly approached the pack. As they moved toward the forest, Erian couldn't help but glance back. Rain was still trying to reason with her sister, her expression a mix of concern and patience. Bella, in a fit of frustration, knocked Rain's hands away and stomped off toward the truck. Rain sighed deeply and followed after her, clearly annoyed but determined to stay by her sister's side.

Erian's heart ached at the sight. He wanted to reach out to her, to offer comfort. He watched Rain until she disappeared into the truck, his heart pulling him toward her even as his feet carried him away with the pack into the forest.

As Rain was sleeping peacefully, Bella barged into her room, the door slamming against the wall. Rain groaned in annoyance, instinctively pulling a pillow over her head to block out the intrusion. However, Bella yanked the pillow away and spoke with determined, "Come on, we're going for a walk." Rain groaned even more, feeling both annoyed and exhausted. She had hardly gotten any sleep the previous night. "I swear sleep doesn't exist with you around," she muttered, her voice muffled by sleepiness. Bella rolled her eyes in response, her persistence unwavering.

"Come on," Bella urged again, before leaving the room, the sound of her footsteps retreating down the hallway.

Rain sighed deeply, staring at the ceiling for a moment before reluctantly getting up. She rubbed her eyes, feeling the weight of exhaustion pressing down on her, and slowly got ready for the walk. As she dressed, she couldn't help but think of how unpredictable life had become since everything changed.

The two sisters walked through the woods, Rain's steps heavy with reluctance. "Bella, we aren't allowed out here. You know, bears? Hungry, big, scary bears?" she quipped with sarcastic humour.

Bella kept walking forward, seemingly unfazed. Rain sighed, following her stubborn sister until they came to a meadow, now dried out from the weather with no flowers blooming. Bella walked further in and collapsed on the ground, looking despondent. Rain quickly went to her, wrapping her arms around Bella in an attempt to provide comfort.

Just as Bella and Rain stood up, they caught sight of a vampire man standing there. "Bella," he greeted with a calm tone. Rain immediately stepped in front of Bella, her eyes narrowing in anger.

"Laurent," Bella said, surprised.

Laurent appeared in front of the sisters in an instant, but Rain stood her ground, glaring at him fiercely. "I didn't expect to find you here. With a friend," he remarked, his eyes shifting to Rain. Bella looked from Rain to Laurent. "I went to visit the Cullens, but... their house is empty."

Laurent walked around them as he spoke, but Rain's eyes never left him, her stance unyielding. Though she was an inch shorter than Bella, she exuded an intimidating aura, her arm protectively outstretched. "I'm surprised they left you alone. Aren't you sort of, um... a pet to theirs?" he taunted.

"Yeah, you could say that," Bella replied.

"Do the Cullens visit often?" Laurent inquired, his smile unsettling.

Bella hesitated. "Yeah, absolutely, all the time. I'll tell them that you stopped by. I probably shouldn't, uh, tell... Edward." She cleared her throat nervously.

Laurent circled slowly around the girls, but Rain kept her eyes locked on him, ready to pounce. "'Cause he's pretty protective," Bella added. "But he's far away, isn't he? And I can see your little friend here is also protective over you," Laurent noted, glancing at Rain with a smirk.

Bella pressed on, "Why are you here?"

Laurent's smile widened. "I came as a... favour to Victoria. She asked me to see if you were still under the protection of the Cullens. Victoria feels it's only fair to kill Edward's mate, given he killed hers. An eye for an eye." Rain's glare intensified, her body tense, ready for action. Bella tried to threaten him, "Edward would know who did it. And he'd come after you."

Laurent shook his head. "I don't think he will. After all, how much could you mean to him if he left you here unprotected? Oh, Victoria won't be happy about my killing you. But I can't help myself. You are so mouthwatering, as is your little friend here."

"Please don't. I mean, you helped us," Bella pleaded, panic rising in her voice.

As Laurent zoomed towards them, Rain had enough. She pushed him hard with her strength sending him flying and colliding with the ground, her voice a fierce growl. "You touch her, and I will kill you myself!" Bella looked at Rain in shock, seeing not just her sister but a fierce protector, an animal ready to kill. Laurent chuckled amusingly as he stood up, "My, so she does speak." He looked at Rain and walked towards them, studying her intently. "Clearly not human either, nor a vampire," he mused, sniffing the air. "A siren." He chuckled while Bella looked at Rain in shock.

"A siren?" Bella echoed, her voice filled with surprise.

Laurent smiled with a calm demeanour. "I thought all sirens were killed."

Rain's glare intensified as she responded, "Surprise, bitch."

Laurent chuckled again, a sinister glint in his eyes. "I'll make sure that you stay dead."

With that, the two zoomed forward, colliding in a blur of motion. Rain's movements were fluid and powerful, her supernatural strength and agility evident as she fought Laurent with fierce determination. She ducked and weaved, landing powerful blows that sent Laurent stumbling back.

Laurent retaliated with a swift kick, but Rain blocked it with ease, countering with a punch to his face that sent him reeling. She grabbed him by the collar and threw him to the ground, her eyes burning with fury. Laurent hissed, baring his fangs as he sprang back up, claws extended.

The forest around them blurred as they clashed, the sound of their combat echoing through the trees. Rain's siren abilities allowed her to anticipate Laurent's moves, and she quickly gained the upper hand. She dodged his swipes, landing precise strikes that weakened him with each blow.

As Rain pinned Laurent to the ground, her hands around his throat, she was ready to end him. But Bella's voice broke through the intensity. "Rain, stop!"

In that moment of distraction, Laurent took advantage. He knocked Rain away with a powerful kick, sending her flying. She collided hard with the ground, her head bleeding from the impact. Rain glared at Laurent, struggling to get up as dizziness clouded her vision.

Before Laurent could make another move, a low growl reverberated through the air. A huge black wolf emerged from the trees, its eyes locked on Laurent, towering over Bella and Laurent. More wolves slowly emerged from the forest, surrounding the vampire, their growls creating a menacing chorus.

Rain looked at the wolves in awe, her heart pounding. A white wolf walked next to her, its presence calming. Erian, in his wolf form, caught sight of Rain, and in that instant, his world slowed down. His tense body relaxed as he stared into her eyes, which reminded him of the ocean's depths.

In that moment, Erian saw images filled with joy and love. He saw them laughing together, smiling, and being inseparable. The connection between them was undeniable, a beautiful bond that transcended words. The images flooded his mind, creating a serene and loving scene.

Erian looked at his imprint with unwavering love, his heart beating only for her. The sight of her, vulnerable yet fierce, filled him with a sense of protectiveness he'd never known. But then, the scent of her blood caught his attention, snapping him back to reality. His body tensed, his gaze shifting to Laurent with newfound fury. The calm, loving look in his eyes was replaced by a seething rage. Erian stepped in front of Rain, his protective instincts kicking in, and glared at Laurent with a ferocity that promised retribution. The air crackled with tension, and the forest seemed to hold its breath. Erian's growls deepened, his muscles coiled, ready to strike. He could see nothing but red, his vision focused on Laurent, the threat to his imprint.

The other wolves joined in, their collective growls creating an intimidating symphony. They surrounded Laurent, their eyes filled with the same anger and determination. Laurent, now faced with an army of angry wolves, realized the gravity of his situation.

Erian's eyes never left Laurent, his anger palpable. He was ready to protect Rain, no matter the cost. The other wolves moved closer, their growls intensifying, forming a solid wall of fur and teeth. They were ready to defend Rain and Bella with their lives.

Laurent's confident demeanour faltered. He took a step back, realizing he was outmatched. But Erian didn't relent. He took a step forward, his growl deepening, making his intentions clear. Erian was not just ready to defend Rain; he was prepared to destroy anyone who dared to harm her.

The pack closed in tighter, their unified front creating an overwhelming force. Erian's growls were a low, rumbling threat, a promise of the pain he was ready to inflict. Laurent glanced around, the realization of his imminent danger dawning on him. The wolves, led by Erian's unyielding fury, were ready to strike.

Erian's focus never wavered. His protective stance, his coiled muscles, his fierce growl – all were aimed at ensuring Rain's safety. In that moment, there was nothing he wouldn't do to protect her. The bond he felt with her, the need to keep her safe, overpowered everything else. Erian was ready to fight to the death if it meant keeping Rain from harm.
