Chapter Four: The Wand
"Hi, guys." Doug said. "I'm Dopey's son. As in Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, and..." Doug trailed off. "And I'm Alice's daughter." Allyson introduced herself. "As in Alice in Wonderland?" Doug suddenly gripped her shoulder. Hard.
"Heigh ho." The friends both said at the same time. Doug was looking at the Evil Queen's daughter, Evie and his friend looking at her mom's enemy's daughter, Quinn. Allyson dropped her band hat. "Evie." Evie said. "Evil Queen's daughter."
"Ally." Doug nudged me. "Oh yeah." Allyson said, grabbing the clipboard that had the VK's schedules on it. "Okay." She started. "So about your classes, We, uh, put in the requirements already... History of Woodsmen and Pirates, Safety Rules for the Internet, and, uh, Remidial Goodness 101."
She felt really uncomfortable now that Mal, Maleficent's daughter, was standing next to me, looking at her schedule. "Let me guess." She began. "New class?" Gwen, Governor Ratcliffe's daughter finished. Ally nodded. "Come in guys." Mal said to her friends. "Let's go find our dorms." She and her friends went up the stairs that led to somewhere that was not the dorms.
"Guys your dorms are that way." Doug said, pointing to the other stairs. "Oh." The VK's said. Doug started to list the names of all his seven uncles. "Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy and..." He trailed off.
"Sneezy." Carlos, Gwen, and Allyson finished.
"Oh." Doug said.

Gwen, Mal, Evie and Quinn all entered their dorm... and it was pink! Like, from the bed to curtains to the bedsheets it was baby pink. Gwen thought she's was gonna go blind in this room.
"Wow." Evie said. "This place is so amaz-" She got cut off by Mal, Quinn and Gwen. "Gross." "I know, right?" Evie said. "Amazingly gross." "I'm gonna need some serious sunscreen." Mal said. "Me and Percy need sunglasses." Gwen said, covering Percy's eyes.
"Yeah." Evie said.
"E, Q, Gwenny." Mal said as she pointed to the pink curtains. They proceeded to close all the curtains. Which made the situation is 100% better. "That's better." Quinn said. "I claim this bed!" Gwen said, going to the bed which has the least pink. "Hey! I wanted that, Lyn!" Mal said. "Well, it's mine and Percy's now." Her friend said relaxing on the bed. "I will go check on the boys." "Okay." Evie said. "We'll go in couple minutes." Quinn said.

The siblings were playing what the Auradon kids called video games. The boys are actually really lucky. Their room wasn't pink and bright. "Why couldn't our dorm look like this?" Gwen questioned, looking around the room as her brother was playing Level 3 of our game.
"What's wrong with your dorm?" Carlos asked, glancing back at me. "Let's just say it looks as though a fairy ate an entire box of pink food coloring, and then exploded all over everything." His sister said as the other girls entered the room.
"Jay, what are you doing?" Quinn asked, as Jay dumped a bag full of random stuff out on his bed. "It's called stealing." Jay smiled. "Okay, what's the point?" Mal asked, as Evie walked over, standing behind us. "Well, Mal, it's like buying whatever I want, except it's free." Jay said, pulling a laptop out from his pants.
""Okay. So, you can do that," Mal started, picking up a phone from the pile of junk. "Or you could leave all of this here and pick it up when we take over the world." She continued. "You sound just like your mom." Evie said.
"Thank you!" She said, smiling at Evie. "You do it your way and I'll do it mine." Jay said, closing the laptop and walking to the table.
"Die suckers!" Carlos yelled. "Jay, come check this thing out! Man, it's awesome!" He yanked the sticks from his hands, jumping onto the platform and started playing the video game. Carlos came over beside Gwen, and she put my head on his shoulder.
"Guys!" Mal shouted. "Do I have to remind you what we're all here for?" "Fairy Godmother. blah, blah, blah." Jay turned to us then back to the game. "Magic wand...blah, blah, blah." Jay said, turning back to the girls before refocusing on the game. Evie and Quinn let out a light laugh. "This is our one chance to prove ourselves to our parents." Mal said, slightly raising her voice.
Her friends turned to her. "To prove that we are evil and vicious and ruthless and cruel. Yeah?" "Yeah..." Everyone except Gwen sighed. "Evie, mirror me." Mal clapped her hands together, taking a seat beside her.
The others stood around the table, Gwen was standing next to Evie, Carlos beside his sister and Jay and Quinn were behind the girls. "Mirror, mirror on the... in my hand. Where is Fairy Godmother's wand... stand?" Evie asked her pocket sized mirror.
The mirror showed an image of the wand floating around. "There it is." Evie announced. "Zoom out." Carlos pointed, arm still over my shoulders. "Magic mirror, not so close." And once Evie said that, it zoomed out all the way until we could see our whole planet. "Closer, closer, closer."
"Can I go back to my game? I'm on level three." Carlos asked the others as he was stepping away, removing his arm off Gwen. She grabbed his wrist as if to say no and then dragged him back. "Stop!" Jay shouted as the mirror showed a sign saying 'The Museum of Cultural History'.
"It's in a museum. Do we know where that is?" Mal asked, staring at the picture. Carlos grabbed the computer that Jay stole and typed it in. "2.3 miles from here." Gwen announced showing the computer to everyone. "Heh." Mal chuckled as the others all smirked.
"All right, then let's go." Quinn stated, zipping her jacket. "Yep." Evie nodded as she stood up and Jay grabbed his sleeveless shirt. Mal opened the door looking out into the hallway, making sure the coast was clear. "Come on." She whispered.
Mal, Evie, Jay and Quinn ran out as Gwen noticed her brother had gone back to playing his video game. She picked up his jacket, "Carlos!" He turned around swiftly, catching his jacket as his sister chucked it to him. "Coming!" "Yeah!" Gwen sighed, running out with him following behind.

They ran the whole way there, definitely not wanting to get caught.
"E, check your mirror." Quinn told her. "Is my mascara smudged?" She asked, pulling out the mirror. "Yup." Gwen said, popping the 'p'. "And hey, while you're at it, why don't you see if you can find us the wand." Mal suggested as they stopped walking down the steps.
"Sure. This way." Evie replied, leading the way. The VKs ran up to the door, looking through the window gasping. Suddenly the chair the security guard was sitting in, squeaked. They ran to hide in the sides.
"That's your mother's spinning wheel?" Jay laughed. Gwen rolled her eyes. "Yeah, it's kind of dorky." Carlos nodded, joining Jay and laughing too. "It's magic. It doesn't have to look scary." Mal shrugged before using her spell book to cast a spell. "Magic spindle, do not linger. Make my victim prick a finger."
Nothing happened.
"Impressive," Jay said smugly.
"I got chills." Carlos held up his arm and him and Jay began snickering.
"Okay, you know what?" Mal scoffed, lifting her hand up at their faces. "Prick the finger, prick it deep. Send my enemy off to sleep." The guard pricked his finger on the spindle and yawned, setting himself on the platform of the spinning wheel. He soon fell asleep.
"Not so dorky now, huh?" Mal smirked, grabbing the door handle and shaking it before realizing the door was closed. "Stand back." Jay grinned, backing up.
"Make it easy, make it quick, open up without a kick." Mal read off a page in her book and the doors flew open, while Jay, who had already jumped up, fell on the floor with a thud. The four girls laughed wickedly as he sat on the ground like a baby. "You coming?" Quinn chuckled, kicking his arm as we passed by.
They sneaked past the sleeping guard, stepping around the platform while looking up at the armour stands indented in the four corners. Suddenly, as the boys were passing, the security guard moved a bit making Carlos freeze and Jay run for it.
"Carlos!" Quinn whisper-yelled.
"Coming!" He replied, tip-toeing over.
Evie panted, pointing up. "So close. Upstairs." "Come on. Go, go, go, go." Mal stayed behind last, and they went all the way, following Evie. "Up, up, up, up, up." "Come on, guys. Almost there." Evie directed and the teens turned the corner, being led into a room of statues.
Not just any statues, statues of their parents.
"Mommy?" Evie said, looking at the statue of her mom.
"Killer." Jay said at the statue of his dad.
"I'll never forget Mother's Day again." Carlos said to the statue of his mom.
The Queen of Hearts's statue had her holding a deck of cards in one hand a head in the other and Quinn remained silent, possibly in awe.
Gwen stayed still as a statue, looking at the statue of her dad. It looked so....real... as if he had come back to life.
Gwen felt a hand slip into hers and squeeze it. She snapped out of her thoughts and saw Carlos. The look on his eyes said "It's okay. I've got ya sis." Carlos and Gwen have been friends since toddlers. I'm not joking!
The first memories Gwen remembered were from when she was three and her brother Rick and her father were visiting Hell Hall. Mainly Carlos and Gwen's playdates involved them cleaning up the place, fluffing up Cruella's furs, touching up her roots and Gwen's least favorite: scraping the bunions off Cruella's feet.
When her father died and her brother disappeared, Cruella became Gwen's legal guardian, which makes Gwen's full name is Gwendolyn Annelise Ratcliffe de Vil. Wow. That is a mouthful. Jay shook his head, "Let's go." "Yeah." Gwen agreed.
Quinn, Carlos, and Evie followed. Evie suddenly stopped, almost making us run into her. "Where's Mal?" "She must have staved behind." Quinn shrugged her shoulders.
"I'll be back." Evie stated, going back. Minutes later, the girls came back. The teens approached a railing, bending over and looking down at the wand on a lower level. "There it is." Gwen gasped.
"Whoo!" Jay exclaimed, running to a golden gate on the other side of the room. They ran all the way downstairs to it and when they arrived, Jay was already about to grab it.
We smiled, holding the protective railing. Jay bent under the fence when Mal realized something. "Jay, don't!" Obviously, he didn't listen. He touched the barrier and it threw him back. An alarm blared in our ears and she groaned, slamming my hands over my ears.
"A force field and a siren!?" Carlos shouted. "That's just a little excessive." Jay groaned, attempting to get up, while Quinn ran over and pulled him up. "Let's go!" Mal ordered and we followed her. We ran out the door, but Gwen glanced behind her and saw her brother at the counter, talking into the telephone.
"What are you doing?" She whisper/shouted. He brought a finger to his lips as he started. "Hello? Uh-uh...Just gimme one second, one second" He started to randomly push buttons. The sirens stopped. "Uh- yeah-yeah no, false alarm. It was a malfunction in the, uh, LM714 chip in the breadboard circuit. Yeah ok. Say hi to the Mrs. Yeah no. I don't have mine with me. I have my sister with me." He winked at his sister.
"Carlos! Gwen!" Quinn whispered/shouted. "You're welcome." Carlos sighed as he grabbed his sister's hand, pulling her out of the building.
"Come on!"
"Way to go, Jay! Now we have to go to school tomorrow." Mal hit his arm as they ran back to the dorms.
