PLOT

Eleanor Carter was given a very important assignment. One she could not fail. Her mission, join her sister in protecting Steve Rogers. Why the super soldier needed protection, Ella didn't know. But she didn't question it. She was just excited to be on a real mission. And what made it even better was that it involved Captain America, someone her aunt always told her stories about. Ella was a big fan of the Man Out of Time, making this assignment even more important to her. She wouldn't fail...she couldn't fail.

But then another super soldier appeared.

Ella always believed that the Winter Soldier was a myth. A scary story told around a bonfire to scare the summer campers. She never expected to be running away from that very myth to stay alive. But that's exactly what was happening. Ella never thought a simple protection mission would lead to a chase. And she really never thought she'd miss sitting behind her desk. But there she was, longing for her boring former job with S.H.I.E.L.D.

There was a first time for everything.

Now Ella was on the run with Steve and Natasha. She was uncertain at first about going with them, wanting to stay with Sharon to make sure she was safe. But her sister assured her that going with the heroes was the right move. Ella was the best with computers after all. Little did she know they would discover the biggest secret of them all.

S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn't who they thought they were.

NOTES

▻ Ella and Bucky's relationship trope has to be enemies to friends to lovers and will be slowburn. He will fall first, but she will fall harder. Once their relationship starts, it will definitely be a sunshine x sunshine protector/golden retriever x black cat relationship.

▻ Ella is very determined to prove herself to the world. She wants to be like her aunt Peggy and does everything she can to show everyone she's meant to be part of S.H.I.E.L.D.

▻ She's heartbroken when they find out that S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't what she thought it was.

▻ Ella goes into hiding with Steve and Natasha very early on. Steve doesn't trust her at all at first because she and Sharon were spying on him. Natasha does as she can to convince Steve that Ella is on their side.

▻ Ella and Sam develop a strong friendship very quickly. They constantly watch out for each other from the second they meet. They develop a sibling bond later on.

▻ Ella tries to talk Bucky down on multiple occasions. It almost snapped him out of HYDRA's control once. But he was taken back to their base before he fully understood what was going on.

▻ Bucky goes to Ella's real apartment after the final battle in Winter Soldier. She then goes into hiding with him and helps him adapt to the new world.

▻ Ella is on Team Captain America in Civil War and gets taken to the Raft. She stays with Bucky in Wakanda.
