Brainiac took a few steps toward them. It paused as it seems to notice the group of teens for the first time.

"Children: Unexpected," Brainiac spoke, "Assessment: Potential Threats. Commencing Termination." And with that, the alien android began powering up an energy beam that shot out of its palm.

But before it could unleash its attack, metallic black and gray arms flung the large android away from the teens.

Batman shot explosive Batarang's from his gauntlets as well as massive beams of energy from his hands. It pushed Brainiac back a couple of hundred yards.

The Dark Knight turned towards them and his mask lifted to show his face.

"Get to the control center!" He ordered.

The teens are shocked at what they are seeing unfold in front of them.

"Dad! What are you doing?" Lucy yelled worriedly.

"I'm buying you some time! Now go!" He ordered.

"B-But Dad...your heart...you can't-" She was interrupted as Brainiac launched through the trees and into the air, off in the distance.

"I'll be right behind you," Bruce reassured her. "Go!" His face mask was back in place as he flew up to join Brainiac in the air.

"This is wrong!" Aaliyah yelled as she raised her mace, "We have to help him!"

"We can't just leave my Father out there to die," Lucy said. "Agreed," Natalie added.

"Guys!" Katana called their attention, "Do as Batman says! Jonathan and Aaliyah must protect the others. Lucy! Your safety is of the utmost importance! Your Father will join you shortly."

Jonathan placed a comforting hand on Lucy's shoulder.

"She's right," Jonathan agreed in a soft voice, "We need to go!"

They finally turned and began moving again.

In the air, the two battled. Brainiac dodged an energy blast before taking a kick to the face, followed by a punch. He responded with several of his own, pushing the hero back.

Batman used his shoulder cannon and launched another attack on the android before flying away from the control center, seeking to put as much distance between the android and the teens as possible.

They fired energy blasts at each other as they descended into the jungle. Skimming the ground, the Dark Knight increased his speed until he arrived at the control center near their home. He turned to face the jungle, watching as the android tore through the trees. He narrowed his eyes.

They have made it to the control center. Jonathan and Aaliyah stood guard as the others ran inside. Katana clicked a few bottoms and lights started to flash as the room began to activate.

"Where's Dad!?" Cass asked her sister.

"H-He's fighting B-Brainiac." She answered. She looked scared and trembled slightly.

"What!?" she exclaimed.

"Cass...his heart." She said tearing up.

Cassandra nods determinedly to help her father.

"Katana! Get them out of here!" She ordered.

"Where the hell are you going!?" Tatsu yelled.

"I'm going to help my Father." She responds grabbing her sword.

"What!" the group of teens yelled.

"Are you crazy! You'll get yourself killed! You're still injured from your last battle." Tatsu said trying to reason with her.

"I don't care. I gotta help him." She puts on her utility belt and runs out.

"Wait! Cass!" Terry called out.

He tried to run after her but the doors closed shut.

"Open it!" Terry demanded.

"I'm sorry... But I can't. Now take your seats please," Katana instructed as 10 seats rose out of the floor. The ceiling opened up to reveal a glass roof and lights began flashing,

"We are launching," Tatsu said.

"Launching?" Henry asks confused.

Jets activated beneath them and the ceiling burst as they were lifted into the air. They were forced into the chairs as they fell from their feet. The jet paused in the air as wings unfolded from its back.

"No..." Terry was in shock, "No, stop! Go back!"

But he was ignored, and the Javelin flew out of the hole created by Brainiac's spaceship. They could only stare at the dome which had been their home for so many years.

     Brainiac threw a few punches with the occasional kick at the man in black and grey armor, sending him briefly to the ground. Brainiac was about to land the death blow on Bruce when out ran Cassandra as she strikes the Android in the back with her sword. She then took out her explosive Batarang's and started throwing them to buy them some time.

"Cassandra!? What are you doing here!? You should be with the others!" Bruce said out of breath. She helped her father back up to his feet.

"I couldn't leave you all alone fighting Brainiac, Father. All that matters now is that they're safe." Cassandra said.

Bruce nods and they look towards Brainiac.

"Think you can keep up, Father?" Cassandra asks with a smirk.

"Always." He smirks back.

They were able to hold off Brainiac for a few minutes and keep him distracted and away from the teens. Batman used his shoulder cannon and wrist blades while Cassandra used her sword and gadgets from her utility belt. Brainiac eventually grew frustrated and used his tentacles. He grabbed them both by the necks and slammed them to the ground with a sickening thud. Bruce was the first to get up off the ground and slowly looked at his surroundings. His vision has gone blurry and he was seeing red.

"No! Not now!" He whispered loudly. Then it hit him. Bruce groaned in pain and grabbed his chest.

"Father!" Cass yelled as she ran limping to his side. He was having a heart attack. She pulled out of her utility belt some medication and was about to administer it to him when Brainiac grabbed her by the ankle using his tentacles and threw her against a tree. Cass was knocked out cold.

"C-Cass... N-No," Bruce whispered in pain. He was now on his knees struggling to get up. He aimed his shoulder cannon at Brainiac and fired. Brainiac blocked the shots and fired an energy blast that was so powerful it ripped apart Bruce's armor. Brainiac advanced slowly until It stood over the defeated form of his enemy.

"Struggling until the end." It observed, tossing the helmet of the man towards him, it's a trophy of its victory, "Illogical. You must realize, the end is here."

"No," Bruce gasped in pain, "Still...hope..."

"False. Hope is a human illusion."

A light began to shine above them. The Dark Knight looked upward to see the Robotic Justice League descending around them.

"Your Iron Justice League is under my control now, Batman. And you belong to me!"

The screen showed the group of teens watching everything.

"It's got Dad and Cassie!" Lucy exclaimed. "Look! They're being captured!"

For the first time in his life, Terry didn't know what to do. All he felt was anger and he knew who to target his anger too.

"You son of a bitch! This is all your fault!" Terry yelled shoving Jonathan.

"My fault!?"

"Yes! Your fault! If you had just listened to him for once and followed orders we wouldn't have been in this mess!" Terry said pointing an accusing finger at him. Natalie and Lucy tried to calm him down but he kept on ranting.

"We were safe and away from Brainiac's grasp. But no you had to go and fuck shit up, didn't you? My Dad and sister are gonna be killed and it's all your fault!" Terry with tears in his eyes walked off to another part of the Javelin away from him. Natalie and Lucy followed him closely looking pissed as well.

"Wow, you just got your ass chewed out by bat boy." Henry joked. Aaliyah smacked him upside the head.

"Ow!" Henry groans rubbing his head.

"You okay?" Aaliyah asks him. He lets out a heavy sigh.

"Terry is right. This is my fault." He whispers.

"No, it's not Jon." She said.

"I... I led Brainiac to our home. Terry has the right to be mad at me. Bruce is probably gonna be dead along with Cass. I'm the one to blame." He finished. Aaliyah and Arthur exchanged a look. She puts a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"It was an accident, you didn't want any of this to happen, so just let it go at least for now. We need our leader."

Jonathan stayed silent. Aaliyah cast one last worried look at Jonathan before clearing her throat and talking again.

"Katana turn this ship around. We have to go back and save them."

"I'm sorry. I can't. Bruce and Cass sacrificed themselves to keep you all safe and that is what we will do. Stay safe, stay hidden." Tatsu said sadly as tears welled up in her eyes.

"There are parts of the world where Brainiac has not reached, far away from Brainiac City. I have set a course for Lian Yu."

"Lian Yu?" Henry raised an eyebrow.

"Oliver Queen aka the Green Arrow washed up on that island a long time ago. It's now used as a haven." Katana said.

"We can't just leave while Bruce and Cass are in danger!"Arthur shouted. "We also can't just sit around and do nothing but hide like cowards!"

"But Bruce wanted us safe," Henry argued. "Going after Brainiac is the exact opposite of that!"

"No!" Aaliyah shouted. "We won't run! We won't hide! We have to go after Brainiac! If not for Bruce and Cass, then at least for our parents! Brainiac took them away from us for good! For all we know, Bruce and Cass could still be alive and I, for one, am not going to let them go and meet the same fates as the other Justice Leaguers did!"

"Tatsu," Aaliyah ordered, "Change course and head for this 'Brainiac City'."

Katana smiles softly. "They're ready." She whispers.

"We have the chance to make a difference using our powers and everything Bruce taught us," Aaliyah told the three silent boys softly. "We can't let any of that go to waste. Not when he went through so much trouble taking care of us. It's time for us to repay him for everything he's done for us."

After another moment of silence, Jonathan gave a small smile.
