"Griddy's Doughnuts? That sounds familiar."
Tracking down one of your own was difficult. That's because no one has ever betrayed the Commission. No one dared to. But here you are, hiding in an alleyway, hunting down one of the dangerous assassins of the Commission who's trying to prevent the apocalypse from happening.
You couldn't understand why he would think he could even prevent the apocalypse. It's an apocalypse. How can you even stop that from happening?
You stepped out from the shadows and walked towards the diner with your hood and mask on. You blended in with the crowd surrounding the diner and stopped in your tracks when you heard a faint beeping noise. You looked down and noticed a small green light. Picking it up, you scanned it before scoffing. "You sneaky bastard."
You avoided being seen by the police and some people around and got inside the shop from the back door which leads towards the back room and the kitchen.
You opened the door slightly and saw a bunch of police and dead bodies around. 'Damn.' You leaned a bit closer to a wall near the door to hear what they were saying. You saw a woman approaching an old lady in a pink waitress outfit. "Ma'am," The woman called out to the old lady. "I'm Detective Patch."
"Hi." The old woman greeted back kindly. "Agnes. Agnes Rofa. Oh, I don't know, did you want a last name?"
"I'll take it if you'll give it."
To hear them clearer, you took out some gadget you found on the package that was sent to you and slid it towards them without anyone noticing, and luckily no one was stepping on it. It stopped right at the old lady's chair's foot and with attaching some earbud on your ear, you could hear them clearly and loudly.
The gadgets that were sent to you were made on your own. It looked advanced and you only use them instead of the whole Temps Commission. They wanted old style but you wanted to try something new and more innovative.
The detective sat down across the lady and began to ask questions. "Did you see what happened here?"
"No, not exactly."
"Let's start at the top."
You smirked. 'Let's start indeed.' You raised your wrist up and tapped something to your bracelet to record everything they're talking about.
"Well, it was... it was a slow night." The old woman began her story. "It was quiet. My last two customers were this... older guy and... and his kid. The guy had a dough... no, that's not right."
You continued to listen.
"The guy had an Γ©clair, and the kid had... had coffee."
You raised an eyebrow. 'Kid ordering coffee while the older guy had an Γ©clair? As far as I remember Number Five hates sweets and likes...' You blinked in surprise and realization. '... coffee.'
"I went... I went into the back room... um, to just get some more change. But then I heard his truck start up. They drove away. I heard shots."
'Wait... they?' You asked. 'If the kid really is the old guy's son... where was Five? He could be the old man and just kidnapped the kid but that's a bit unlikely.'
"And by the time I got back in here... everyone was... was, you know..." Agnes started tearing up as she recalled the traumatic events that have occurred.
Patch nodded in understanding. "Was there anyone else in the shop?"
"No, I... I don't think so." The old woman answered. "I'm sorry, not to be rude, cause you seem super sweet, but... do I have to go through all this again?"
"Again?"
"Well, I already told the other detective everything."
"What other detective?"
'And that's enough information for me.' You quickly ended the recording and tapped a button causing the disc, that you slid in to hear the interview, to go back towards you.
You quickly caught it and quickly escaped before anyone could see you. You walked out of the crime scene. You saw the detective with a guy dressed in black talking with her. The guy glanced at you as you two slightly made eye contact before he got his attention back to the detective.
'Weird guy.' You continued walking until you noticed two familiar figures. A lady with short hair and a man who was eating ice cream. 'Hazel and Cha-Cha. Well, that was quick.'
You just walked away quickly, kept your hood on, and pressed another button to your bracelet to replay the recorded interview through your earpiece. "A kid and an older guy. It would be obvious that Five is the older guy but...."
"I don't like sweets or desserts. I had a bad Twinkie so it's a no for me." You remembered Five's words echoed in your brain when you heard him talking to an employee who was offering him a dessert.
"He hates sweets or desserts. So he wouldn't dare to even try an Γ©clair. Maybe?" You sighed. "If Hazel and Cha-Cha know about this, and I know they did because they were in the crowd and heard the detective and the weird guy's conversation, they'll definitely go after the older man. But what if..."
"The kid had... had coffee."
"What if I try to find the kid first?"
You looked up at the night sky. 'I should probably head back to the motel and maybe ask for some bag. I can't always stay in motels I have to stay close to Five.'

You peeked out your head from the crowd to see what was happening. There was a robbery going on inside a bank and the police were still on their way. Suddenly, someone grabbed your torso and lifted you up, placing you on their shoulders.
You looked down as you held their head. They looked up as you finally saw their face. "Can you see them better?"
You nodded and grinned. "Yeah. Thanks, Harry."
You and Harry continued to watch eagerly what was happening. It was children in school uniforms fighting the thieves. This is their second time trying to save the day and so far they're doing pretty great.
Gunshots were heard inside and with every gunshot you heard, you would flinch. You tapped Harry's head. "Can you put me down now? I'm getting scared."
Harry nodded and carefully put you down. Just as you landed on the ground, some thieves managed to get out of the building. Everyone stepped back as the thieves looked around helplessly. Harry pulled you close to keep you safe as he stared at the thieves in fear.
But even with Harry's effort to keep you safe, a robber noticed you and snatched you away from Harry. "(Y/n)!" Harry screamed but some adults pulled him back so he wouldn't be in danger.
You struggled to get out of the man's grasp but stopped when you felt his gun pressed against the side of your head. "Nobody moves or I'll shoot her!" The robber exclaimed.
The group of kids in school uniforms finally came outside. Someone suddenly appeared in front of you and the robber and snatched the gun away from him. You took this opportunity to bit the man's arm causing him to scream in pain. The boy who snatched the thief's gun smiled then punched the man while his siblings took care of the other burglars.
The boy turned to you. You looked at him but couldn't tell what his eyes even look like because he had an eye mask on. "You good?" The boy asked.
You nodded. "Yeah. Thanks."
The boy smiled at you before disappearing then reappearing beside his siblings to take care of the other thieves. You quickly ran towards Harry and he hugged you tight. "Are you okay?" Harry asked.
"Uh-huh." You said.
"You know you could've used it."
You sighed. "I can't. I don't even know how to control it."

Your eyes opened and you quickly sat up. 'What the actual fuck.' You rest your hand on your forehead then glanced at the window. 'Well, at least I slept for at least 30 minutes.' You looked at the clock. 'I gotta go.'
You grabbed the backpack, a bag given to you by the receptionist of the motel, and filled it with the important things you need. You put your backpack on and then grabbed your bow and arrows. You got out of the room and noticed Hazel and Cha-Cha driving away in their car.
'I know I said we shouldn't bother each other or spy on each other but... maybe this one's an exception.' You walked down the stairs and looked around for a vehicle you could possibly steal or just borrow. You noticed a red motorcycle first and spotted the owner just nearby, calling someone by the phone booth.
You looked closer to see a key already on the motorcycle and a helmet by the handle. You approached the vehicle and quickly hopped on. You turned it on and put the helmet on. The owner noticed their motorcycle engine turning on so they looked in your direction and saw you waving at them. "Thanks for letting me steal this for a while."
Before the owner could shout at you to demand, you quickly drove away to follow Hazel and Cha-Cha.

Chapters will be released every Monday and Friday at 6 PM (Philippine Time).
Writing this book means watching The Umbrella Academy again for the third time and would probably take 4-5 months again hahahahaha
And yes, (Y/n) uses a bit more advanced gadgets but she rarely uses them since most of her missions are just to assassinate someone not hunting down someone.
