Siraj's french tipped polished nails typed constantly over the white keyboard of her color coordinating iMac computer, a small frown on concentration plastered as her expression.

One of the only things she hated about being an entrepreneur was all the paperwork she had to do. Since she was the 'head huncho', everything had to go through her before being officially finalized. Reading all the fine print made her brain hurt.

It was all worth it though because if she was to misread something important she would be in court faster than she could blink. That wasn't something she wanted to go through again with the chance of losing a couple thousand dollars on court fees and lawyers.

The time on her digital wall clock read almost four in the afternoon, and she thought about leaving early due to skipping breakfast this morning; which resulted in her stomach growling at this very moment. Then, the door to her office opened with familiar voices talking over one another.

"I don't care you big neck bitch. I had her first anyways." Zara made sure that she was the first one to walk in, wrapping Siraj up in a hug before her older brother could.

"Zara!" Siraj laughed, having to stop the both of them from falling over in the chair, nonetheless hugging her back.

"Girl 'cause he 'talm 'bout he yo' favorite. Like chill patchy, you only been her man a few months. I been best friend for life." She rolled her eyes, then smacked her lips when Exodus mushed her head back.

"Shut up thin hair. Get out her face." He pulled her away from Siraj, who smiled at their childish antics. She was a little surprised that they were here at the same time, even though she'd already told Zara about them.

"Wassup fat mama? Daddy missed you." Exodus leaned down to be at her level, and she covered his face with her hands, a shy smile replacing her amused one.

She then laughed after hearing her best friend audibly gasp in surprise, and Exodus chuckled from underneath her hands. He kissed her cheek, pulling her to stand up as soon as her arms went around him in a hug.

Whenever she was with him, it felt like it was only them in the room. She had him wrapped around her finger when they'd first got together, but now it was the other way around. Siraj loved her man.

"Y'all niggas really Caresha and Diddy and that's just so crazy to me 'cause no way this is real." Zara shook her head in disbelief, but couldn't deny how happy it made her to see them so happy with one another.

"Her ass say that all the time. That nigga seven years away from being 60, I'm only 32." Exodus sat down where Siraj previously sat, then pulled her to sit down in his lap.

"Only?" Siraj and Zara spoke in unison, following up with a laugh at his annoyed reaction.

"Shit, my man calling. Don't have sex 'cause I be right back and ion' wanna see that shit." She rose up from her seat as soon as her phone rung, and Exodus waved her off to rush her to get out.

"Not too much on my best friend."

"Fuck yo' best friend. You acting mad fake right now, all quiet and shit. You ain't tell me you miss me back or give me no kiss or nothin'. I see how it is." He said from behind her, which resulted in her turning her body around to face him.

She leaned her head forward to gently press her lips against his, holding his face in her hands while his immediately drifted down to her ass, gripping the softness in his large palms.

"I missed you too Jacere." She chuckled, breaking their kiss after feeling small flutters in her stomach from his hands that were now rubbing against it-which her doctor informed her about them being the first of many baby kicks.

"I know. You fed my baby today?" His thumb rubbed down the middle of her stomach, and Siraj pulled her hoodie up to show off her baby bump.

"No. I rushed out the house this morning. You made me oversleep." She told him, then smacked her lips once he smirked at the reason of her oversleeping.

"Nah don't blame it on me 'cause I told you 'bout not eating. You should've called me to tell me to drop something off for you." He rubbed her sides while she barely paid him any mind. She was too mesmerized at the sight of his whole demeanor softening whenever he spoke about either her or their baby.

At first neither of them were really set on the idea of having a baby, even after finding out that she was pregnant. It had taken a couple of days for the pregnancy to actually grow on them, and now both of them were excited about the baby that would be here in a few months.

Siraj was so glad that she'd chosen a good man as her child's father-even though the child itself was in no way planned-but still, she was blessed that it was Exodus. A lot of women didn't have good pregnancy experiences due to stress, but she knew that Exodus would go above and beyond to make sure hers was near perfect.

Despite all that he did and was continuing to do for her, Siraj couldn't help but to feel sad about the other situation happening in her life that didn't involve her baby-in a way. She missed her best friend, Emari, so much. She wasn't used to going days without speaking to him.

She'd reached out so that they could sit and talk like adults about her relationship, as well as their friendship, but her iMessage turned green as soon as she sent it. Then she called him, only to realize that she was blocked. That was seriously a first, and honestly, she wasn't sure how to handle this.

It had only been two days but it was probably the hardest two days she'd gone through. Siraj was so attached to everyone in her life, and when something like this happened, it threw off her entire routine.

It only made it worse that Emari was keeping her niece from her too. On Saturday's she usually took Eriah out for a girl's day-and to give Emari a break since he juggled so much on his own-but he didn't let her today. She couldn't even allow herself to be mad at him.

What she was mad at though, was the fact that he'd went so long without telling her about how he felt. How was she supposed to know that he wanted her in another way if he had never told her? She'd never thought anything of his behavior towards her either because it had been the same their entire time knowing each other-which had literally been forever.

It was a little too late for him to act on those feelings now, which just made Siraj feel even worse. She always gave Emari whatever it was that he wanted if she had it, but she couldn't do it for him this time and that made her sad.

"What you thinkin' 'bout mama? You don't hear me talking to you?" Exodus stood up from the seat he sat in, gently tilting her head back so that she looked up at him.

"Nothing, just work stuff. I zoned out." She chuckled, feeling his hand remained near her jaw to hold her face.

"I don't know why you still be trying to lie to me like I don't know you Siraj." He grabbed her hand that she'd began to fidget with, causing her to lose his gaze.

"What is it?" He asked again.

"I don't wanna talk about it 'cause you ain't gone do nothing but get mad at me." She spoke without looking at him, still fidgeting with her own hand while he stared at her.

"My brother, huh?" He slowly let her face go, and she made sure to keep her eyes on the ground. She didn't know how to handle his stare that was so naturally intimidating.

"I just feel bad. I wish he could've found out a different way." She leaned against her desk, lifting her arms to fold them across her chest.

"You feel bad for some shit you ain't have no control over? Nobody told that nigga to hide his crush like he still in sixth grade or somethin'."

"Exodus stop making a joke out of his feelings because I don't find it funny. I don't wanna talk about this." She shut the conversation down quicker than it could start, and all he did was nod.

"Cool. I ain't give a fuck 'bout it anyway." He shrugged his shoulders, watching as her frown remained on her face while she moved away from him.

He really didn't care and was quite literally tired of talking about the same thing he'd been trying to point out for weeks now. He didn't feel bad about anything either because if Emari really wanted Siraj, he should've applied pressure the same way that Exodus had.

It was up to God now because Exodus wasn't ever coming up off of his woman regardless of how it made anyone else feel.

"Damn. What came in here and shitted while I was gone?" Zara had her face turned up after closing Siraj's office door behind her.

"Hell if I know." Exodus chuckled, reaching down in his pocket to grab his phone. He was going to order Siraj something to eat since it was four in the afternoon and she still hadn't ate.

"Yo, what the fuck Zara?" An instant mug replaced his expression after she'd popped him in the back of his neck, just as heavy handed as he was.

"Whatever you did to my sister, trust, you will be dealt with. I'm telling mama on you too." She grabbed her purse from one of the chairs, and Siraj cracked a smile.

"Man ain't nobody did shit to her crybaby ass. She be mad at nothin'." Exodus returned to his spot in Siraj's chair while she said nothing to either of them.

Zara ignored her brother and grabbed Siraj's hand, who let her pull her outside of the office, closing the door behind them. Then, Zara pulled her to sit on the marble floor with her, and it was like an instant wave of sadness fell over Siraj.

She begin to cry without knowing what triggered it, but it seemed like Zara was low-key expecting it. Her arm draped over Siraj's shoulders, letting her just sit there and cry. Though she didn't know what was wrong, she was willing to wait for Siraj to gather herself enough to where she could tell her.

That was really the best part about having a friend so close that you were literal sisters. A few seconds ago, Siraj thought this was just one of mood swings that had been happening lately, but Zara was able to pick up on that fact that something was really bothering her. Zara was her platonic soul mate and she was too thankful for her.

"Word to my mother, I will beat that nigga ass if you tell me to sista. I mean, I'll definitely lose, but I'll still try for you." Zara told her, smiling when she was able to get Siraj to laugh.

"I love you so much. You such a real ass bitch to take an ass whooping for me." She held her fist out, chuckling as Zara dapped her up.

"I'm already knowing. Now, what happened?"

"Emari came over the other day while Exodus was home with me, and neither of us knew he was coming. He ended up seeing my stomach and realized I was pregnant. Then him and Exodus got into it and literally made each other bleed; 'cause apparently he's had feelings for me this whole time, and now I'm blocked." She summed up the events of the last few days.

"Y'all have not been 'juh vibin' twin." Zara made a yikes expression, always having to crack a joke to make the situation better. It worked every time too.

"Bruhhh that's what I'm saying! They ass is not 'juh vibin' and ion too much like that." She folded her arms across her chest, then removed them since her boobs were sore.

"Nah foreal but damn, Emari been crushing? He 'shole fooled me. This is so cliche, wow." Zara pulled her legs up to her chest while making herself comfortable against the wall.

"See! Exodus thinks it's so obvious when it's literally not. I feel like he only knew because he's my man-and because he's a man in general. You know niggas pick up on each other antics. Then bitch, did you know he fucked Alaysia?"

"Wordddd?? Nahhhh, niggas is bops on god this bitch done been hit by every nigga in the city, but both my brothers? Who the fuck raised them?"

"Man. I don't even wanna fuck that nigga no more 'cause no way that bitch your type and I am too. What kinda shit is that?" Siraj sucked her teeth, no longer crying. Zara lifted her mood just by being herself.

"It's okay. You his first bad bitch and that's obvious." She shrugged, unlocking her phone after receiving a text message from her boyfriend.

He was waiting downstairs to take her home with him, but she wouldn't be leaving until she was sure that her best friend was good.

"You leaving?" Siraj asked her after seeing a phone call from Zynel appear on Zara's phone, then chuckled as she declined it.

"No. I wanna make sure you okay first. I just told his baldheaded ass that, I don't know why he callin'."

"I'm fine. Just pregnant and emotional." Siraj assured with a smile, genuinely feeling better after talking with her.

"Has Exodus been making you sad lately or are you guys fine?" Zara's hand intertwined with hers, laying her head down on her shoulder.

"We're fine, I love my man. I think the baby is bringing us closer 'cause we were kinda toxic in the beginning. It was mostly me, but he's teaching me and I'm learning-he is too. It's just hard sometimes since it's so new to me." She shrugged.

"You look a lot more happier lately, and I done noticed it a lot more since you told me about y'all. I know you feel bad about the sitcho' with Mari, but don't ruin your happiness over it. He needs to be okay with remaining your friend because he could've been made his move, feel me?"

"He held himself back, so I hope you don't blame yourself or feel guilty over his feelings. They're valid, of course, but there's not much to do about it now. Y'all have been fine as best friends, he'll get over it." Zara told her, covering her mouth as she yawned.

"Thank you sister. I love you so much." It was like a feeling of relief washed over and replaced her sadness, grateful for Zara's words.

"I love you too baby. And you gotta stop crying so much 'cause I know you be pissing my nephew off." Zara shook her head, and Siraj smacked her lips. She wanted a little girl so bad but Exodus and Zara both wanted a boy.

Before she could respond, both of their attention was grabbed as Kaila, Siraj's assistant, got off of the elevator with a bag of Chic-Fil-A and a drink in her hand-the UberEats that Exodus had ordered a while ago.

"That's my cue." Zara chuckled, helping Siraj stand to her feet, who wore a smile on her face. She couldn't deny being hungry.

Siraj and Zara talked for a couple of minutes longer, before going their separate ways. While Zara got on the elevator to go downstairs to her man, Siraj went back in her office with her food in tote.

When she walked in, she could see Exodus now sitting on the sofa near the right wall, his attention leaving the TV that was playing The 100 to look over at her. Before she sat down, she leaned over to repeatedly kiss his lips, making his hand go around her neck.

"You ain't mad now? 'Cause you got food?" He chuckled, releasing her bottom lip after sucking it between his own.

"I wasn't mad at you, just irritated. Thank you for my food though." She sat on the sofa with him, and he pulled her feet to be in his lap.

Siraj was glad that their arguments, or disagreement rather, didn't last long. Their relationship and newfound parenthood together was still taking some getting used to since neither of them had been loved correctly in a relationship setting. Everything was new, all the feelings-good and bad.

They were very accepting with one another's love, instead of self-sabotaging it like they'd done with past flings. They gave each other strength and were healing together, becoming better for one another so that their relationship could last.

"I love you." Siraj raised her foot to be on his face, and he chuckled, letting it remain there.

"I love you more. I'm sorry for making you mad and kinda brushing that shit off. I'm just tired of talking 'bout it. Ian' mean to invalidate your feelings or nothin'." He kissed the bottom of her foot while the other rested in his lap.

"Thank you for acknowledging that but we're okay. I'm not mad at you baby. And I'm sorry that I brought it up." She apologized, as well assured him that she wasn't upset about it.

"Come here." He reached over to grab her face, and she smiled as he pulled her in for yet another kiss. The way she-the both of them, really-showed growth and matured every day was definitely a turn on for him. He loved to see it.

"I'm proud of you girl." His voice rasped as he spoke against her lips, causing butterflies to fill her stomach.

"Thank you daddy." She wrapped her arms around his neck, then laughed once he flipped her over so that she laid on her back with him between her legs.

Should I change the way I update books? The way it is now is three updates every other day, but I think I wanna change it to one update on Monday Wednesday and Friday, and two updates on Tuesday Thursday and Saturday. That way I update basically everyday-besides Sunday. Sunday @ 3p.m. PST will be the time that I drop books. What do y'all think? Change it or keep it how it is?
