Hi, I'm Elli Noom, a self-published author on Amazon and the Kindle Store, thanks to Kindle Direct Publishing. I have already published two stories there: "Out of Reach" and "Beneath Two Masks."

𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆(𝘀) 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱?
"Out of Reach" holds a special place in my heart, making it my chosen debut novel despite romance not being my preferred genre. Unlike traditional romance novels, this book does not aim to inspire love or similar emotions. Instead, I aim to convey a message about non-attachment, drawing from personal experiences to show that living without attachment is achievable.
On the other hand, "Beneath Two Masks" is my second publication, currently only available as an ebook. This sci-fi fantasy novel combines romance, action, adventure, and mystery, featuring dual interconnected storylines. It delves into large-scale conflicts and the impact of individual choices on personal destinies, as well as the world at large. Themes of heroism, sacrifice, power dynamics, inner strength, identity, perseverance, truth discovery, and self-growth are explored within its pages. This is going to be a wild ride because there are a bunch of characters!

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝘆?
I chose to self-publish my stories because traditional publishing companies are unlikely to notice an unknown like me. Let's face it, no publishing house would invest in a writer without a social media presence, especially here in my country. This is particularly true for someone like me who prefers not to promote myself to attract attention or gain popularity. My goal isn't fame; rather, I simply want readers to appreciate my work. Writing in English means my readers come from various countries, making self-publishing through KDP the optimal choice, at least for now. While I haven't yet approached traditional publishers, it's something I may consider in the future.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴? 𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘁?
Both self-publishing and traditional publishing have their own set of advantages and disadvantages. As a self-published author, you become the sole decision-maker for your book, allowing you the freedom to shape the story as you desire. While there are costs involved in hiring editors and cover designers, as well as the responsibility of marketing your book, in my case, I handle everything myself. Although I may not have the same level of expertise as professional editors or designers, the satisfaction of accomplishing these tasks independently is worth it to me. I advise anyone considering self-publishing to budget for promoting their book, as marketing your book can prove to be more challenging than the writing process itself.

𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴?
I can't say for certain, but being a traditionally published author is beneficial for establishing a foundation to reach more readers. You wouldn't have to worry about promoting your book because the publishing house will handle that for you.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴? 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱?
When writing my stories, I pay close attention to several key points, including plot progression, potential plot holes, inconsistencies, grammar, and punctuation errors – all the technical aspects. I strive for near-perfection in my novel, although perfection itself is subjective, and my perfectionist tendencies often hinder me from considering it complete. To overcome this, I seek feedback from beta readers, even if it's just on the initial chapters. To ensure my story is ready for publication, I meticulously go through all editing stages, including developmental editing, line editing, copyediting, and proofreading. Once these steps are completed, the manuscript is ready for release.

𝗜𝗳 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺?
My advice would likely vary depending on their circumstances. I may suggest self-publishing, traditional publishing, or refrain from recommending either option. I would present the advantages and disadvantages of each choice and encourage them to select the path that aligns best with their needs.
