"Wow this is a first, my brother Klaus is silent. Last time you were this quiet, we were twelve. Ran down the stairs wearing Graces heels, tripped over and broke your jaw. How long was it wired shut again?" Diego asked as he looked at Klaus in the passengers seat as he was being painfully quiet, drinking a bottle. Ivy tapped her foot anxiously, wanting to know what was going on inside his head.

"Eight weeks" Klaus mumbled.

"Eight glorious weeks of bliss." Diego said but Klaus didn't answer.

"Klaus? You can talk to us about anything" Ivy said as she put a hand on his shoulder from the backseat with a small smile. Klaus reached up and gave it a small squeeze.

"Hey just drop me off here" Klaus said as they pulled up at a Veterans only bar. Diego looked back at Ivy before pulling it. Klaus opened the door .

"You sure you're okay man?" Diego called out but Klaus was already out the door.

"Ivy, you know anything?" Diego asked her as he looked into the backseat .

"No, he hasn't been the same since I saw him early. Didn't really speak about anything that happened" Ivy said sadly as she looked out the window.

"You gonna do something about it? You've babyed him his whole life. Right nows about the time to go all mother hen" Diego said, making Ivy laugh.

"I know, but it's not that simple with Klaus. I have to figure it out in my head before I say anything because then it'll only make it worse" Ivy said as Diego looked at her again.

Klaus felt a hand on his shoulder as he turned around in the bar. He was looking at war pictures when he felt the familiar feeling.

"Ivy I really just need some time" Klaus sighed as he looked away from his sister again.

"Not until you talk to us" Diego said from behind Ivy.

"Klaus, I just wanna help you and this is a lot more than anything I can process, which is why I need you to talk to me about it so we can help" Ivy whispered.

"Hey guys, young lady, this bar... its for Vets only" A older guy said to the three.

"I am a Vet" Klaus said without turning around. Diego sighed as Ivy continued to glare at the older man.

"Really? Where'd you serve?" The man laughed with his buddy's behind him.

"Could you just mind your own business?" she snapped at him.

"Excuse me?" the man asked.

"Non of your business anyway!" Klaus snapped at the guy, making him now become angry.

"You've got balls coming in here pretending you're one of us" The man said, Ivy went to say something but Diego rose a hand.

"I have ever right to be here, just like you" Klaus said calmly before adding, "asshole!"

The guy stepped forward and Diego now let Ivy go to put a hand out infront of the old guy.

"Woah woah woah woah woah, slow down. Alright, my brothers had a few too many. Let's just call it a day, go our own way" Diego nodded slowly as he tried to convince the guy. Ivy hid her laugh.

"Sure thing, as long as you apologize" the guy spoke up over Diego's voice. Ivy laughed loudly as Klaus giggles to himself. Diego sighed.

"Fine. I'm sorry, he's sorry, where all sorry. So, are we good?" Diego asked calmly again.

"I wanna hear him say it" The old guy said as he pointed to Klaus back.

"Take the stick out of your ass dude" Ivy rolled her eyes as Diego gave her another look.

"Hey man were just tryna-" Diego began but Klaus cut him off.

"No no no no. He's right Diego, I'd like to apologize that you are depriving some village of idiocy!" Klaus yelled as Ivy moved from Diego's grasp and wiped out a plant from a corner and slapped one of his friends in the face, making him drop his shot. The guy swung at Klaus but he ducked quickly before slamming his head into the guys and then holding it in pain. Ivy put her arm around him to guide him out the bar as Diego swung at the guy with much more grace and got the three out safely.

Back in the car Klaus was giggling to himself slightly.

"Stop, Klaus, it's not the time" Ivy snapped at him from the backseat with a eyeroll.

"You've got a big mouth you know that?" Diego asked Klaus, clearly just as annoyed.

"Oh wow what a truly shocking abbreviation, Diego and Ivy. The power duo. Eight and two." Klaus laughed as he pulled out some pills, which Ivy flew over the seat and yanked out of his hands, making him sigh .

"Why are you putting that shit in your body?" Diego asked as he watch Ivy take it from his hands. Klaus just sighed loudly with a cross eyed look.

"Check this out. My body is a temple. And all that shit you do is just weakness" Diego said to him as he slapped his body slightly and then went to fix his shirt.

"Ohhh wow. Well, weakness feels so good" Klaus said as he pulled some more pills out. Ivy went to slap them away but Diego beat her to it by slapping Klaus instead.

"What's going on with you?" Diego snapped at Klaus, who now got angry
"Don't hit me asshole!" He yelled back. Ivy sighed with a eye roll as she feel back in the seat.

"No! Don't tell me everything is alright because I saw you in there! You were crying like a baby!" Diego snapped at him.

"Because I lost someone!" Klaus shouted back. Ivy's heart dropped at this as she sat up slightly with frowned eyes. Diego's face softened as he looked back at Ivy, who was staring at Klaus.

"I lost someone. The only person i've truly ever loved more than myself" Klaus said as he poured some pills in his hand and held them up.

"Cheers" he said as the two sat in shock.

"Klaus. You could have told me, either of us. I'd help you" Ivy said to him softly.

"Oh yeah, you'd sure help, right Ivy?" Klaus said to her in a sarcastic tone, getting a hurt look from Ivy and he immediately started to regret it.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" she said back as her face scrunched up in hurt.

"Because, how would you help me if you can't even help yourself. You think I don't see the pain in your face, when you talk, I hear you in your sleep. You miss Ben and you would do anything in this world do have him back here. See, I feel that. Stop trying to help me when you can't even help yourself" Klaus snapped at her as Ivy looked away and fell back in the seat with a angered look. She stared out the window as Diego looked through his mirror and saw Hazel leaving the donut store.

"That's our man" He whispered to himself .

"Hey I know that guy" Klaus said as he saw the man.

"How can you possibly know that guy?" Diego said to him.

"Because him and a really angry lady tortured me. I barely got out with my life" Klaus said which made Ivy turn around and allow her eyes to widen.

"I told him to have a good day. Him and one of his friends were eating sprinkled donuts" Ivy whispered.

"That's the same people that shot
you and Edora. I've gotta get this guy" Diego said as he started his car and drove after Hazel.

The three were in Diego's car, behind a ice cream truck, as they stared up at the hotels until Diego saw them.

"Bingo" he said as he got all his knifes ready .

"You do know killing these people wont make you feel better. I mean Ivy's fine, she's still alive and healing pretty well" Klaus said as he gestures to the back seat.

"She's not fine, she's still hurting because she hasn't figured out how to heal herself correctly. And once it's done, i'm gonna sleep like a baby" Diego said.

"Really you shouldn't be doing this Diego. Klaus is right, i'm fine" Ivy said as she looked at him over the seat.

"Still you almost died just like Patch. Therefore i've got two things on my payback list for these two" Diego smirked back at her as Ivy looked away.

"Stay in the car" Diego said as he saw Hazel exciting the hotel.

"What are you talking about, this guy torchured me" Klaus said just as Ivy said "No way. They shot me"

Diego looked at the two calmly, "I've got a plan"

Diego left he car, leaving Ivy and Klaus in the painful silence.

"Ives" Klaus spoke up.

"Not now Klaus" she said, still bitter about earlier.

"I shouldn't have said that" Klaus added in.

"Nope, you shouldn't have" Ivy nodded in agreement as she looked at her finger nails then back out the window.

"You are amazing at helping, I wouldn't get through any of this without you and I was upset but bringing you and Ben up was a dick move" Klaus said he looked backward at her.

"I get it, we all act different when we lose the people we love. And if you don't mind, id love to hear about this person later on tonight."  Ivy shrugged with a small smile.

"Sounds like a plan" Klaus said back slowly but then saw Ivy's smile disappear.

"What is it?" Klaus asked her with a eyebrow raise.

"I know you can see him" Ivy said sadly as Klaus sat there dumb founded.

"Ivy I-" Klaus began but Ivy held up a hand.

"You don't have to explain... I trust you if you say it as for a good reason. I've just got one question" Ivy said to him as she blinked.

"Anything" Klaus answered with a nod.

"Does he talk about me?" Ivy asked as she played with her fingers as Klaus smiled slightly.

"All the time. The second you showed up in the house. He's so proud, he's even got that hood, you made him when we were teenagers, on. He can only see you if i'm around though, which means he's been seeing you a lot actually. Ever time you tell a joke or make a sarcastic remark he laughs and when you smile he'll smile. He misses you" Klaus told her as Ivy's breath became shaky but she held in her tears.

"I miss him, so much" Ivy said as she wiped a tear, Klaus reached out and grabbed her hand, giving it a good squeeze.

"So what exactly is the plan here?" Klaus asked as him and Ivy snuck up on Diego, who looked annoyed now.

"I told both of you to wait in the car" Diego said to the both of them .

"Yeah, well you also told me that licking a nine bolt battery would give me pubs so" Klaus said as Ivy frowned her brows.

"We were eight" Diego said in disbelief.

"Did it work?" Ivy asked as she looked at Klaus.

"You know, i'm not sure, I don't think so though" Klaus said to her with a look of confusion and all Ivy did was nod her head with frowned eyebrows. Diego looked at the two in shock before grabbing the two of them by their shoulders and pulling them down the stairs.

"Dude, trying to protect you here" Ivy said with a eye roll.

"No, both of you listen to me, I need you to go back to the car. If I don't come out in two minutes, that means i'm probably dead. So if that happens, go get help, okay?" Diego asked the two as one of his hands rested on their shoulders. Klaus huffed.

"Can we make it three minutes?" Ivy asked with a squeeze of her eyes, Diego sighed.

"Sure" he nodded and then stared at the two.

"Yeah okay okay okay" Klaus said as he wrapped his arm around Ivy and pulled her along with him out of the building.

"Be carful, brother of mine" she said before exciting the hotel. A few moments later, Diego heard a car start, as he looked over, Hazel and Cha Cha started shooting at Diego, hitting his hand in the process. Before he could comprehend what was going on, two vines wrapped around his body and pulled him backwards where Ivy and Klaus grabbed him and pulled him behind the wall for safety.

"See, you use to think I was a idiot" Klaus said with a point of his finger and out of breath.

"I still think you're a idiot" Diego cut him off.

"Hey mr, we just saved you" Ivy said with a look as Klaus nodded in agreement. The three ran down the stairs and were now infront of Diego's car.

"Shit, get in the car" he said to them before glancing down at his tires and noticed they were shot and now flat. Klaus kicked them.

"Is this part of your master plan?" Klaus asked as he leaned against the ice cream truck.

"Shut up" Diego snapped at him

Ivy tapped his arm fast.

"What Ivy?" He asked her annoyed.

"New plan!" she announced, making his face look back at her

Five had just made his deal with Hazel and Cha Cha when he heard a ice cream truck coming down the road.

"Is that her?" Luther asked, referring to the handler just as it passed as Klaus waved at them from the drivers seat .

"What the hell is he doing here?" Five asked.

"Go faster!" Diego yelled from the passengers seat as Ivy continued to laugh loudly as her body was moving around in the air .

"Weeeeeee" Ben said as he held onto the front with a wide smile.

"It's a set up" Cha cha yelled as the two of them started firing at the truck. Just as Klaus hit them, all the time stopped as the handler stepped forward to confront five as the rest of his family was frozen in time as of that moment.

So all the TUA books i've read they never have their characters to with Klaus and Diego it's always with Five and Luther so I thought, why not?
Plus i've said in previous chapters about how the four of them were close when they were smaller so what better moment to put in a scene with them than this one?
