๐ญ๐ฐ๐จ. rise and shine, little wolf

"Alright, now," said Hecate. "Let's begin once and for all."

Suddenly, long sofas appeared around the room, and the Olympians' thrones magically disappeared, startling the gods.

"Hecate..." said Zeus in a threatening tone.

"It's just to have more space, my lord," said the goddess innocently. But everyone knew it was a lie, as the room was enormous and such a thing was unnecessary, but they let it pass.

"You can sit with your children, and trust me, you'll thank me later."

The demigods shifted uncomfortably, looking at Hecate with pleading eyes, but the goddess ignored them. So, no one had any choice but to follow her orders.

Percy went to sit next to his father and stepmother, almost dragging Grover with him so he wouldn't be alone. Meanwhile, Jason and Thalia exchanged doubtful glances before sitting on the sofa next to Zeus and Hera, with the goddess giving them death glares... mostly at Thalia.

Apollo's children didn't hesitate to run to their father, who was next to Klaus; both men smiled at them sweetly.

Most of the gods had few children, so it wasn't much of a hassle. While Bianca and Hazel sat with Hades, Nico didn't leave Kiara's side, and when she summoned her own sofa for her and Luke, the couple made space for the demigod. Nico didn't hesitate for a second and sat between them, earning a small laugh from Luke and Kiara.

From afar, Bianca watched him with sadness and guilt, after all, she had brought this upon herself.

"Is everyone ready?" asked Hecate, addressing the demigods mainly. When they responded with a chorus of 'yes' and she received nods from the gods, she prepared to begin.

"I just want you to know that everything you will see is the work of The Fates, not mine. Even if you don't think it's necessary, they do," the goddess finished saying before sitting on her own throne.

A giant screen appeared and lit up the room completely.

โ‹†โ‹†โ‹…โœถโ‹…โ‹†โ‹†

A giant bed, fit for a princess, dominated a large part of the room, where a lump under the sheets could be seen. It was Kiara, resting peacefully with the sunlight about to illuminate her face.

"Not this," whispered Kiara, embarrassed at seeing herself sleeping on the screen. She remembered what was about to happen next and hated it.

"Kiara... psst. Kiara," whispered a voice, stirring the demigoddess from her sleep.

She didn't budge and ignored the voice, turning over and pulling the blanket to cover herself completely.

"Not a morning person, Kie?" asked Percy with a mischievous smile, clearly aware of how hard it was to wake the demigoddess but wanting to tease her.

"And you would think that being the literal daughter of the sun god, she'd be happy in the mornings," Katie said, mocking her friend.

"I hate you all," muttered the demigoddess, hiding herself in Luke, who was shaking with laughter.

"Kiara," said Luke, elongating the 'a' as he called her. "It's time to get up."

"What?" the Greek demigods shouted, looking at the traitor demigod in shock.

"What were you doing at Kiara's house?" Connor asked his older brother.

"Visiting her?" Luke replied, obviously.

"Mmm... No, I don't want to," Kiara replied in a raspy voice.

Luke let out a small laugh, looking at the tribrid with love before leaving. When Kiara heard the sound of the door closing, she uncovered herself, staring at the spot where the demigod had gone, then shrugged and settled back into her bed.

"That was easy," she whispered with a smile, drifting back to sleep.

Luke burst into laughter, causing everyone to look at him curiously, but he could only see Kiara, who was looking at him as if he were a monster.

"I hate you."

"No, you don't," Luke said, still laughing.

"I told you, my love. He'll never manage to wake her up," Apollo said, taking a bite of his toast while watching the demigod with amusement.

Klaus just smiled as he cooked, observing the demigod pass behind him with a defeated look.

"Nothing is impossible for someone like me," Luke said, heading to the bathroom.

Everyone, including the gods, was surprised to see the son of Hermes mingling not only with Kiara and her father but also with Apollo.

Luke came out of the bathroom with a bucket full of water, heading towards Kiara's room again.

Klaus and Apollo exchanged glances, clearly confused.

"Oh, for the gods," said Connor, ignoring his resentment towards Luke and looking at him with a big smile. "Are you going to wake her up with water?"

Luke was a bit surprised that his brother spoke to him, but he didn't show it.

"Yup," he said proudly.

Luke carefully opened the door, making sure Kiara didn't wake up, which was easy. The demigoddess slept like a damn koala.

"I wish I could record this," said Percy, looking at Kiara with a smile, which for obvious reasons was not returned.

Kiara felt the presence of someone in front of her, and when she finally decided to open her eyes to see who it was, she felt liters of water pouring over her, creating a pool of water on her bed.

Everyone, including some gods, burst into laughter; some even had tears streaming down their faces, mocking the prank played on the demigoddess, who looked like she wanted to strangle the son of Hermes.

"You're an idiot, Luke," Kiara muttered through gritted teeth.

"You love me," Luke said with a grin, which only widened when he didn't hear a 'no' in response.

Kiara just ignored them until the laughter died down, hating every second of her existence.

Luke walked into the kitchen and took a seat next to the god, who looked at him curiously.

"What did you do to my daughter, spawn of the devil?" Apollo asked.

"Heeeey," Hermes said, clearly offended by his brother's words.

"I did not lie," Apollo teased.

Luke shot him a dirty look, ignoring him as he began to eat.

Suddenly, a scream echoed throughout the house.

"Luke Castellan, I'm going to kill you!" Kiara shouted from her room.

The son of Hermes turned pale before joining in the laughter with the demigoddess's parents.

Off-screen, everyone else laughed as well upon hearing Kiara's scream.

"I hope she does," Apollo whispered, hoping no one heard him.

Klaus did, and he reprimanded him with a stern look.

"You don't like him?" Artemis asked her brother, curious.

"He wants to steal my daughter, of course I'm not going to like him," Apollo said, glaring at Luke, who smiled innocently.

Thalia and Annabeth exchanged curious glances at the scene unfolding before them.

"You want to steal Kiara?" Percy asked seriously, looking at his enemy.

"Of course not," Luke said, feeling uncomfortable talking to Percy. "Apollo is just being dramatic."

The demigods looked at Luke as if he had ten heads, hearing him address the god as if they were equals, expecting Apollo to explode. But Apollo didn't even blink at the disrespect, though he was clearly offended at being called exaggerated.

This made many wonder how close Luke and Kiara were for him to have such confidence with her parents.

Kiara appeared in the kitchen, dressed in new clothes and ready for the day. She shot a death glare at Luke before kissing her parents on the cheeks, smiling at them lovingly. However, when she turned back to Luke, her smile vanished.

"Oh, oh," Alicia whispered to her parents with a smile. "Someone's in trouble."

They smiled amusedly at her comment.

"Oh, come on, Kie. It was funny," Luke said with a mocking grin.

"Funny?" Kiara asked, her eyes fierce. "I'll show you what funny is," she said, trying to attack Luke, but Klaus stopped her before she could.

"Breakfast is ready, sweetheart," Klaus said. "I don't think you want it to get cold."

"I thought he was going to help her kill him," Damon whispered to his wife.

"Klaus has changed, Damon," Elena said, smiling at the dirty look her husband gave her.

Kiara stopped when she heard her father's words, hating that she couldn't hit Luke and eat at the same time, so she sat away from him and started devouring her food.

"She doesn't play when it comes to food," Silena said, laughing at the way her friend was eating on the screen.

"So, where are you two going today?" Apollo asked, feigning curiosity as he looked at his nails.

"I didn't know you were a jealous father," Ares said, mocking Apollo along with Hermes and Dionysus.

"She was going out with a son of this one," Apollo said, pointing to a very offended Hermes. "It's obvious that I was going to be worried," the god finished, ignoring the hit his boyfriend gave him.

Luke froze, staring at Kiara, who avoided his gaze to smile at her father.

"We're going to the fair in New Orleans, Dad. I've told you so many times, how can you still forget it?" Kiara asked, smiling without realizing her father's intentions.

"Did you go home?" Alicia asked Kiara.

Kiara shifted uncomfortably, avoiding her gaze.

"Yes, it was a while ago", she answered. "I wanted to see if I could show Luke the festival, so we went."

"Wait, are you talking about the Mardi Gras festival?" Hazel asked, joining the conversation with excitement in her voice.

Everyone turned to look at her, which made her feel uncomfortable with the stares.

"Yup," Kiara responded, smiling at Nico's sister.

Marcel stared at Hazel, trying to remember where he knew her from. Rebekah, noticing this, tried to get his attention.

"Why are you looking at her?" the blonde asked curiously.

Marcel took a few seconds to compose himself. When he turned to look at his wife, he smiled.

"I'm pretty sure I saved that girl a couple of decades ago," the vampire whispered, only for Rebekah to hear.

Rebekah's face wrinkled in confusion, as did the faces of the vampires in the room who could hear the conversation.

"How is that bloody possible?" the original asked. "If she looks like a thirteen-year-old girl..."

Before the vampire could respond, the screen started playing, preventing them from continuing their conversation.

"It must be his age that makes him forget things, Kie," Luke responded to the tribrid, mocking the god.

Some demigods wanted to laugh, but seeing the god angry, they chose to swallow their laughter.

Apollo seemed like he wanted to kill him and send his body with a bow to his father, but he couldn't do anything because Luke was important to Klaus and Kiara.

"Your son truly has no fear of death," Apollo said, glaring angrily at his brother.

"It's not like you could do anything to him," Klaus whispered in his ear.

"Boy..." Apollo said, standing up in anger, but he did nothing upon seeing Klaus's look, and his daughter's laughter didn't help.

So he decided to bother his dear nephew in another way, his gaze turning dark as a cruel smile formed on his lips.

Apollo suddenly seemed to remember what had happened before and looked regretfully at his nephew.

"Oh no," Artemis murmured, looking at the screen in despair, already knowing her brother was about to do something foolish.

"So, tell me, dear nephew, how are things going with your old man?" asked the god, starting to prepare a drink while glancing at the demigod who tensed up.

The god smiled at that.

"Apollo..." Hermes warned, looking seriously at his brother.

"Look, I already apologized for the stupid things I said," the god replied with a grimace. "And if he didn't believe me, I can do it again."

Everyone turned to look at Luke, who shifted uncomfortably under their gazes.

He just shook his head, indicating that it was fine.

Luke ignored what the god said and continued eating, hoping the god would get the hint and change the subject. Clearly, that wasn't the case.

"The last time I saw him, he wouldn't stop crying, complaining that you're mean for not forgiving him," said Apollo, making a sad face.

"That's a lie," said Hermes, pretending to be offended.

Most of the demigods looked at Luke with curiosity, as those who didn't know him found it absurd that the demigod wouldn't take the chance to be close to his godly parent.

Meanwhile, Luke was squeezing Kiara's hand so tightly that, if she weren't practically indestructible, he would have broken it.

Kiara, who had been ignoring the situation around her, stopped eating and angrily turned to look at Apollo.

"Dad..." Kiara warned.

"What?" Apollo asked innocently. "I just feel bad for my brother, and he's right, honey. Luke should get over what happened."

"You need to learn to keep your mouth shut, little brother," said Artemis, glaring at her twin.

The god at least had the decency to look embarrassed, as he was being frowned upon by most people in the room.

Apollo suddenly fell silent when he heard the chair being dragged loudly; it was Luke who had stood up.

"It's not as easy as you think," said Luke, his voice trembling with anger. "You should think twice before talking crap, Lord Apollo."

With that, Luke turned around and left the dining room, leaving an awkward silence.

No one said anything about the demigod's disrespect. The situation was already uncomfortable enough.

Kiara looked at her father with a furious expression, trying to follow Luke, but Klaus stopped her.

"I'll go," said the original, leaving without even glancing at the god.

"Awkward," murmured someone, causing everyone to look around, but no one could recognize the voice.

Meanwhile, Apollo looked like he wanted to throw himself into Tartarus.

"Luke, I'm really sorry," said Apollo, looking at the demigod. "What I said was out of line and stupid."

"It's fine," replied the demigod, looking at the god without a trace of resentment or hatred. "Maybe you were right."

At that, Hermes seemed to light up like a flare, interpreting his son's words as a future.

"That was out of line," said Kiara, looking at her father without emotion.

"Maybe it was," said the god, not daring to look at his daughter.

"Sometimes you can be very stupid," Klaus whispered to Apollo.

"Yes, but I'm your stupid," the god whispered back, making sure their conversation wasn't overheard.

Klaus just looked at him amused and gave him a kiss without anyone noticing.

Klaus went to Luke's room, noticing the door was open, but still knocked to get the demigod's attention.

Luke directed his gaze at the original, making him notice the dried tears on the demigod's face.

"Oh, Luke," said Klaus, trying to approach and console him, but Luke moved away before he could.

"Always running away," murmured Kiara, angry but still feeling sad for her boyfriend.

"No, I'm fine," murmured the demigod, but his voice broke in the process.

"You don't seem to be," murmured Percy, earning a bad look from the son of Hermes.

"And why do you care?" Luke replied, with a biting tone.

Percy raised his hands in a gesture of peace upon hearing him.

"Apollo sometimes doesn't know what he's saying and acts like an idiot. Don't pay attention to him," said Klaus, looking at him with pity.

The gods mocked Apollo upon hearing how his own lover called him an idiot.

"Ha!" said Kiara, mocking her father. "Your own boyfriend calls you an idiot."

Apollo glared at both Klaus and his daughter.

"Sometimes?" asked Luke, mocking.

Klaus burst out laughing, infecting the demigod with his laughter.

"Almost always, but don't tell him I said that," replied Klaus.

"I'm getting offended here," commented Apollo, glaring at his boyfriend.

"Oh, shut up," mocked Klaus. "You deserve it."

Both remained in a comfortable silence until Luke decided to break it.

"Do you... do you think Apollo might be right?" asked Luke doubtfully.

The hybrid grimaced, observing the demigod with compassion.

"Apollo can be right about many things, Luke," replied Klaus, causing the demigod to become disheartened. "But he is wrong if he thinks that the pain your father has caused you can be overcome that easily."

Everyone who didn't know about the situation looked between Hermes and Luke, trying to understand what was happening with their relationship. At least some had the decency to disguise it.

Luke remained silent for a while, processing Klaus's words.

"I hate him," murmured Luke, with resentment. "I hate that because of him, my mom is like that."

Hermes lowered his head upon hearing Luke's words, causing his children to hug him. Luke ignored everyone's looks, focusing on the mythomagic cards Nico had in his hands.

Klaus sighed, understanding Luke's hatred and pain better than anyone.

"It's normal to feel that way, Luke," said Klaus gently. "But hatred won't help you heal. You need to find a way to let it go, for your own sake."

The Originals looked at their brother as if he had grown another head upon hearing him talk about letting it go. Meanwhile, Elena gave Damon an 'I told you' look, causing him to glare back at her.

Luke clenched his fists, struggling against the emotions that overwhelmed him.

"I don't know how to do it," he admitted quietly. "All of this is too much for me."

Klaus approached and placed a comforting hand on Luke's shoulder.

"It doesn't have to be now," he responded knowingly. "You have time to think about what to do before the endgame."

"Endgame?" asked Will, looking at his father's boyfriend with curiosity.

Upon hearing the demigod, the gods turned to the hybrid with curiosity.

"That question is for later to be answered," Hecate responded for her son, not wanting him to say too much.

Luke looked up, finding some comfort in Klaus's words, but there was a dark shadow in his eyes.

Annabeth and Thalia exchanged glances, sighing sadly, already knowing that Luke hadn't followed Kiara's father's advice.

Klaus smiled, giving his shoulder a reassuring squeeze.

A sound of someone drinking echoed through the room, causing everyone to turn and look for its source.

Their mouths dropped open when they noticed the McDonald's bags in front of Kiara, Luke, and Nico, who were enjoying their burgers, oblivious to the stares.

"Where the hell did you get that food?" asked Leo, eyeing Kiara's juicy burger hungrily.

She looked at him strangely and hid her hamburger from the demigod's view, without responding.

"We just ordered it like at camp," Luke replied obviously.

"Are you kidding?" Leo asked again.

Nico shook his head with a smile while eating his French fries.

In the blink of an eye, everyone in the room had food from different places, showing huge smiles on their faces as they finally had something to eat.

Meanwhile, Hecate shook her head, looking reproachfully at her son.

"You didn't remind me to tell them how to get food," she whispered angrily to Klaus, who was choking on his steak.

After finishing chewing, he looked at her strangely and shrugged.

"You told me not to get involved in your things, and that's what I did, mother."

Hecate sighed deeply, clearly frustrated.

"Sometimes I wonder why I had you, Niklaus."

Klaus smirked smugly and took another bite of his steak.

"Because you couldn't resist your desires, dear mother," the hybrid replied, then ignored her and turned to Apollo.

Leo, still curious about the food, approached Nico.

"And how do you order your fries again?" the demigod asked.

Nico shrugged.

"I just thought about them and they appeared."

Leo frowned, clearly confused.

"This is too weird, even for us."

Kiara, having finished her hamburger, stood up and approached the son of Hephaestus.

"Stop worrying so much, Sparky. Enjoy the food while you can."

Leo nodded, looking at her strangely because of the nickname but deciding to ignore it since his food was more important.

A pizza appeared in front of him, making the demigod's eyes light up as he took a slice, smiling at Nico.

The throne room soon filled with laughter and lively conversation as the demigods enjoyed their unexpected but well-received meal.

And while they did so, Hestia's hearth fire burned with a warm and welcoming glow. The goddess of the hearth watched from a distance with her brothers and sisters, a sweet smile on her face.

All the chapters will be long :/

Klaus sees Luke as his son, and also sees himself in him, which is why he does everything he can to protect him and make him feel okay.
