20 | Best Birthday Ever

Kianna picked up a sliced pineapple with her fork, letting the juice of it drip into the can while Judah's hand rubbed at her thigh. She took a bite out of it at the same time that one of the girls in front of her screamed, being stabbed in her arm with a pocket knife.

"Yo, put that shit down. I ain't say you could use a weapon." Judah frowned at Renee, who immediately dropped it after rubbing her red nose. She was so high, her nostrils were running like a waterfall.

The rest of the women in the whore house just stood around and watched, as usual. Some of them stared at Renee and Miracle, while others stared at Judah and Kianna. They didn't know how Kianna was sitting there so unbothered as if she wasn't in the same exact position six months ago.

They hadn't seen her in a while, but she tagged along with Judah today because she didn't want to be at home by herself. It was currently storming outside and she was afraid the lights would go out if he left her; as if he was in control of the electric company or something.

Most of the women knew that the two were officially a couple, but it was still shocking to see. A lot of them had known Judah for a few years now, and he'd never even shook hands with a woman in front of them before Kianna came around. It was like she turned his whole world around after being kidnapped.

He was so different now. He was even becoming nicer to them. Just last week, he gave them each ten thousand dollars in cash just because his birthday was approaching and he was in a good mood.

Unfortunately, not everyone appreciated his generosity; like Miracle, who was currently fighting Renee, who'd been giving the task to bruise her up in exchange for another ten thousand and a bag of cocaine.

Over the last few months, Miracle had been sneaking and selling the product that she was supposed to be bagging up for Judah's corner boys to sell on her own terms; and by this point, she had practically started up her own little business. A successful one, at that.

She'd accumulated over seventy thousand dollars of income from stealing Judah's drugs, and had even began to plan to steal bigger quantities from the trailers that delivered them. Luckily, he was made aware of her plans by some of the other women in the house before she could execute said plans.

Of course, he had to discipline her, as he did everyone else. Nobody was exempt, and no amount of theft was too small to warrant punishment. He didn't care if it was fifty seven cents, he didn't play about his money at all.

Miracle was lucky Judah was turning over a new leaf that stopped him from killing people who committed small crimes against him. He actually hadn't killed anyone in a few weeks, which was a big step for him because he was used to having graves dug up for at least three people a week.

Kianna was to thank for that, of course. He was becoming a better person because of her. Well, slightly better. He still had some things to work on..

"C-c-can I have it n-now?" Renee scratched at her arm after knocking Miracle out; she was still alive though, and they could tell from how her body was twitching on the ground as she slowly regained consciousness.

"Crazy ass girl." Judah chuckled, watching Renee run over to a table after Kianna passed her a bag of white powder.

"You know, to be a junkie, she fights so well. She could be a MMA boxer or something.. put that talent to use." She said, earning a laugh from Judah at how unserious she was.

"You going to hell." He told her.

"Oh, am I? I assume you're aware of your final destination as well?" She turned her head to look at him, making him laugh again.

"Shut yo' ass up." He stood up with her before placing her down where he previously sat, and then he walked over to where Miracle was now sitting up against the wall with tears streaming down her face.

"Anybody feel like coming forward? This y'all only chance. I won't do nothin'. If I find out after today, I got a headstone with y'all name on it." He announced, looking around at all of the women in his line of sight-about twenty to thirty of them in total.

"Aight then. Get her to medical and go find somethin' to do." He said, and almost everyone began to move at the same time.

"Damn. Thought you was gon' kill 'er. I was ready to watch, low key. I forgot Kjeezy don't play that shit." Shelly said to him after helping the girl load Miracle onto a stretcher, referring to Kianna.

"At all she don't. Niggas ain't 'bouta have me on pussy probation for pissing her off." He chuckled, reaching behind his ear to grab his blunt.

"She got you wrapped around her finger. I ain't never seen you this fucked up 'bout nothin' in over ten years." Shelly took two hits from the blunt once it was passed to him before passing it back.

"I tell her that all the time. She got a nigga doing Bible study and shit on Sundays. My own mama couldn't get me to do that shit." He shook his head at himself, putting his attention on Kianna who was now watching Baddies West while eating from her can of pineapples.

"It's good to see though. I mean, I'm always down to crash out with you but it genuinely make a nigga happy to see you out the way with her. She calming you down. You deserve that shit my boy." He held his hand out, and Judah blew smoke out of his mouth as he dapped him up.

"I 'preciate that. For real." Judah pulled him in for a hug, patting his back. They shared a few more words before Shelly left to go get a plate from the kitchen, and Judah went to grab Kianna so that they could leave.

Their flight to Saint Lucia would be leaving at three in the morning, and although they were already packed, they still had to get ready for the dinner Ms. Maria was hosting tonight for Judah's birthday party. Clearly she loved inviting family over to eat, no matter the occasion.

"You hungry yet mama? What you tryna eat?" He asked her once they were in his truck, now pulling out of the wraparound driveway.

"Nothing. I'ma eat that banana pudding ice cream that Eli got in the freezer." Her mouth watered just thinking about it. Elijah put it in the freezer yesterday, and she tried to give him some time to eat it but it still hadn't been opened when they left this morning.

It was like he was tempting her, knowing that banana pudding was her favorite dessert. She was about to give in to those temptations too.

"He gon' kick yo' ass." Judah chuckled, and she only shrugged in response. That was a chance she would have to take.

As soon as they got home, Kianna did exactly as she said she would and took Eli's Blue Bell ice cream out of the freezer. She sat on top of the counter with the biggest spoon they had, eating it straight out of the carton.

In the midst of her munching on the ice cream, she spotted an Amazon package sitting in the mail basket with Judah's name on it. She wanted to be nosy and open it herself, but she had a feeling she already knew what it was.

"Baby, come open this package." She said to Judah, who was laid out on the couch watching The Hulk. He could've watched it in the bedroom, but as always, he needed to be near her at all times.

"You open it."

"It has your name on it." She rolled her eyes at him, knowing he only said that because he didn't feel like getting up.

"When has that ever stopped you?" He replied without looking away from the TV, letting out a laugh when she smacked her lips.

"I ain't even order nothin'. At least, I don't think I did. It might be Eli's. You know he under my account." He told her, grabbing his Gatorade bottle off of the floor.

"Nope. I'm sure that's yours so can you stop asking questions and just come open it." She put a spoonful of ice cream in her mouth after rolling her eyes for the second time.

Judah childishly huffed as he stood up from the couch, grabbing the lightweight package that was literally right beside her. He effortlessly tore the top of the bag off, ripping through the package, only to find a box inside.

"Did you wrap my birthday present in an Amazon package?" He chuckled, recognizing the velvet box from his jeweler.

"Maybe. Maybe not." She shrugged, smiling when he leaned forward to kiss her cheek without even seeing the actual gift.

He opened the box, and his face broke out into a smile at the sight of a picture frame covered in blinding diamonds, holding a selfie of him and Kianna inside; his favorite picture of them. He had it on the inside of a chain and all.

"Turn it over." She wrapped her legs around him, pulling him closer to her.

Judah did as told, lowering his eyes to read over the words engraved on the back of the frame. His smile instantly dropped into a small frown, mixed with a bit of confusion and slight fear. When he looked at her again, she could see the tears forming in the bottom of his eyes, and that put an instant pout on her face.

"Aw, stinky. Are you cryinggg? Oh my goddd." She wrapped her arms around him at the same time that his went around her neck, giving her a bear hug.

"I fuckin' love you man. You deadass? You having my baby?" His naturally raspy voice had a slight crack in it, and she nodded her head with a smile on her face.

"I'm 14 weeks. Those plan B's were not plan b'ing." She rolled her eyes again, and he laughed, bringing his hand up to wipe his face.

"Damn. I ain't surprised but I am at the same time. How the fuck you hide this from me for fourteen weeks?" He pulled his shirt up to dry his cheeks, though it didn't help much because he could feel his eyes burning with more tears.

"Well I didn't find out until last month, when Mina came over to do my braids while you was at the warehouse. She brought me a pregnancy test 'cause she had a dream about it. You don't even know how much I had to beg Rico not to tell you 'cause he the one drove us to the clinic." She referred to the main security guard that watched over her.

"He was all like, 'Boss man gon' be mad and I might get fired when he find out'. I was like, pleaseeeeee don't tell him. I had to call his wife and get her to convince him 'cause he wasn't listening to me. Ugh. I was so stressed out." The way she changed her voice to mock Rico made him laugh again.

"Damn man. This shit just fucked me up. I'm so caught off guard, I can't lie." He looked down at the back of the frame once more, reading over the engraving that said 'Daddy to be' in a cursive font.

"I love you so much. I swear I do." He wrapped his arms around her neck again, repeatedly kissing the side of her face.

"I love you too baby. And you owe me something, remember?" She looked up at him with a playful smirk as her expression, making him nod his head.

"Yeah mama. I got you. I'ma take care of you. I promise." He tilted her head back for a real kiss, and she grabbed his face while her smile slowly faded away as the kiss deepened.

"How you feeling? Hm? You okay?" He sucked on her bottom lip after the kiss broke, putting his gaze on hers again.

"Yes. I'm scared as fuck but I'm mostly excited. I had a blood test done to find out the gender, and we'll find out tonight at your dinner. Mina's bringing the cake. She already knows what it is." She grabbed his hands and placed them down on her stomach; her bump was very small, she only looked bloated, but it was still very firm.

Kianna's smile returned as he leaned down to kiss her belly button, keeping his hands on her stomach. He couldn't believe a baby was growing in there; his baby.

Although it had been a constant joke since before they even had sex, Judah wasn't expecting to actually get her pregnant. He thought plan B's completely canceled the possibility of pregnancy out.

She was the only woman he'd ever went raw in, so he never thought to thoroughly educate himself about them since Kianna was the only one he ever bought them for, and they'd only used them twice. He pulled out every other time-and they had sex very often, so he thought they'd been playing it safe for the most part.

Still, he was overwhelmed with gratitude. He now owed Kianna his life for carrying his seed.

When Judah initially promised Kianna that he would leave the drug game in exchange for a child, that was mostly a joke since he knew she wasn't ready to have kids any time soon, and the same went for him. Now, this was their reality, and it was officially time for Judah to leave. He wasn't backing out on his promise.

He wouldn't be waiting until the baby was born either. He had to zip this up as soon as possible, because when his child was finally born, it would be getting his undivided attention. He refused to have any distractions. The baby and Kianna is the only thing he'll be focused on.

"I can see your obsession getting worse by the second." Kianna looked over at him as he continued to rub her belly, the two of them now dressed for his birthday dinner and in his truck.

"You know me well then." He told her, and she laughed, placing her hand down over his.

"I gotta find somewhere for us to go. A house, or we can move to a bigger suite in the building if you want. What you looking to get at?" He rested his hand inside of her brown Skims tights, glancing over at her.

"It don't matter to me stink. I like our condo but I've always wanted my own house..something like your parent's house. Theirs is so pretty. I want a pool and a backyard kitchen like them. And the house would have to be big 'cause I don't wanna keep moving, like if we have more babies," She expressed.

"Aight then mama. Whatever you want, I'ma get it done."

"My Mr. Make It Happen." She leaned over to kiss his cheek at the same time he put his truck in park, and he smiled in response.

Judah got out first before walking around to open Kianna's door, helping her step down. She grabbed her crossbody Dior purse out of the truck and put it over her head while Judah stood and gazed at her intently.

"You can really see that shit. I don't know how I ain't noticed. Look at my baby, man." He rubbed her stomach again as if he couldn't believe it, making her smile.

"To be fair, you didn't have a reason to notice anything. I haven't had any morning sickness and it just looks like I ate real good." She chuckled, grabbing his hand after her closed the door.

Judah didn't get the chance to respond before a car door shut, grabbing both of their attention. A smile grew on Kianna's face as she watched Amina emerge from her 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray that was originally black, but was now wrapped in pink. It was gifted to her by Kianna for her 24th birthday last month.

"Hey best frienddd," Amina grabbed her up for a hug when they approached her, making Kianna's smile grow bigger.

"Hey sexy girl. Thank you for bringing it." She released her from the hug, able to see the tall cake box strapped in a seatbelt in the passenger seat.

"You welcome bestie. It's so cute, too. I can't wait 'til y'all see it. Judah, get it out. That shit heavier than my damn car." Amina pretended like she was exhausted, making him smack his lips as he walked around to the other side of her car.

"Yo' ass be swearing you handicapped whenever I'm around."

"Well, you did shoot me. So, technically I am. Remember this?" She pointed to the scar on her arm, and Kianna shook her head at them both while Judah grinned deviously.

That situation was now a dark joke between the two of them and Kianna hated it. They swore it was the funniest thing ever though.

"Better shut that shit up before I do it agai-,"

"Both of y'all shut up. Damn." Kianna waved their bickering off as she slid her index finger into the combined pulse and fingerprint reader, causing the door to open seconds later.

"Hoes get pregnant and think they somebody mama and ion too much like that." Amina walked in on the side of Kianna while Judah walked in front of them.

"Bitch shut up." Kianna said again after mushing her head, making her laugh.

"Auntie KJ!" Isaac saw them first, and he ran right past Judah to wrap his arms around Kianna's waist for a hug.

"Hey Yak. Why you acting like you wasn't just at home yesterday?" She laughed as she hugged him back, and he shrugged with a smile.

"AuNtIe kJ!" Judah mocked with a slight neck roll, making Kianna, Isaac, and Amina laugh at his jealousy.

"What's in that box uncle JJ?" Isaac asked, walking with them towards the kitchen. Neither of them got the chance to answer due to Maria shrieking in excitement at the sight of Kianna.

"Oh, my baby! I missed you so much! Te ves tan hermosa chica!" She wrapped her up in a hug, telling her that she looked beautiful; as she did every time she seen her.

"Y'all mad fake. Y'all don't even like her for real." Judah rolled his eyes as he sat the cake down in the middle of the table.

"Shut your behind up. And, who is this?" She waved Judah off before giving Amina a hug as well even though she didn't know her.

"This is Amina, the girl I was telling you about. Mina, this is Judah's mom, Ms. Maria." Kianna introduced them to each other after laughing at Judah for the umpteenth time.

"Ohhhh, sí, sí! Welcome sweet girl. You are very beautiful as well!"

"Thank you so much. You are too, and your house is gorgeous." Amina smiled as she was released from the hug, standing back beside Kianna.

"Thanks honey. Is that the birthday cake?" She gave Judah a hug next, and he kissed her forehead at the same time that the patio door slid open.

Abel and Elijah walked in, and both of them went straight to Kianna for a hug, and Judah didn't even bother getting jealous this time. It was obvious who was their favorite guest.

"Kind of." Judah chuckled, standing behind Kianna after she was finally let go.

"Boy what you mean kind of? Your birthday tomorrow, ain't it, negro?" Abel asked, talking trash, as usual-which made everyone besides Judah laugh.

"Y'all 'bouta make me mad and I ain't gon' tell y'all what it's for." He rolled his eyes again, and Kianna smiled as his arms wrapped around her torso to rest on her stomach.

"I'm pregnant." She did jazz hands to be dramatic as Judah pulled her shirt up a bit, and both Isaac and Elijah's jaw dropped in surprise while Maria instantly began screaming.

"Yoooo, that's crazy as shit! Let's fucking go!" Elijah tackled the both of them in a hug, and Amina and Kianna burst out laughing once Judah roughly pushed him back to make him get off of Kianna.

"Bitch quit pushing me! Love me! I'm 'bouta be an uncle!" Elijah jumped into his big brother's arms, and Abel smiled at his sons while helping his wife up from the floor.

"Ma why you crying?" Kianna chuckled, grabbing her hands to put them on her stomach.

"Girl, why am I crying?! My babies having a baby! Oh God. He is so good, yes He is! Whew, Jesus, I give you all the glory. Awww, my babies." She sniffed, wrapping her arms around Kianna for yet another hug.

"Congratulations, my daughter. We are so grateful for you." Abel hugged her as well, and she playfully pouted as she returned it. She loved them a lot.

"Well, it's about time. Is my cousin a boy or a girl 'cause it needs to be a boy." Isaac said as he was picked up by Judah, being held up against his body.

"That's what the cake for. To find out what it is." Judah chuckled, gesturing to it as Amina opened the flaps, revealing the two tier, Twinkle Little Star decorated cake that read 'Twinkle twinkle little star, how we wonder what you are?!'

"Oh my goddd, Mina it's so cute." Kianna's eyes gleamed with happiness at the star shaped edible images of her and Judah around the cake.

"Congratulations best friend." Amina gave her a hug as well, and Kianna playfully rolled her eyes since Amina literally knew of her pregnancy before she did.

"Aight now, hurry y'all ass up and cut it. I need to start shopping right now, today." Elijah exaggerated, passing a knife to Kianna. He was excited. He'd been waiting ages for this moment.

Kianna pulled Judah closer to her, placing the knife in his hand. She put hers over his while his other one slid around her waist, and the adults all pulled out their phones to record while Isaac held a plate for the first slice of cake.

"It's a girl!" Kianna screamed in excitement at the same time that Judah picked her up in the air, swinging her around as their family applauded in identical excitement.

Kianna wanted a girl so bad, but Judah didn't mind what the gender was, really. A boy or a girl would've satisfied him; he just wanted a baby in general. He was glad that he'd get to see a mini Kianna running around though. They were already his two most favorite girls in the whole wide world.
