12 | The Truth
Kianna sat up in the bed, holding a hot towel against her middle area to help with the redness and swelling. She was so sore all over, but she couldn't say she regretted anything from the last few hours. In fact, she'd do it all over again with no hesitation.
Their first round of sex happened at around nine last night, and her boyfriend didn't get done with her until three in the morning. They went to sleep for about two hours, then Judah woke her up again for a few more rounds.
She ended up being put to sleep for the second time, only for him to wake her up around six to ask if he could give her head. He finished a few minutes ago and was now playing Grand Theft Auto V on his PlayStation 5 while she was trying to figure out how to breathe correctly again.
"Baby," She called, and he turned his head around to look at her, currently sitting in his gaming chair.
"Go get me something to drink, please." She requested, making him pull his headphones off to go do as told.
Kianna heard the doorbell ring coincidentally at the same time that he walked out, and she just hoped that he had ordered them breakfast because she could definitely go for some food right now. If that was the case, hopefully Judah would let her go back to sleep after she ate and actually let her stay asleep this time.
She leaned against the headboard and closed her legs to keep the towel in place against her lower set of lips. Taking the scrunchie off of her wrist, Kianna wrapped her hair up into a messy bun to get it out of her face.
Judah came back into the bedroom a few moments later, now carrying two bottles of Simply Strawberry Lemonade and a bag containing two styrofoam containers of food.
Kianna opened the plate that was passed to her, seeing two breakfast burritos, a small cup of mild dipping sauce, and two mandarin oranges inside.
"Do you ever get tired?" She asked, reaching up to grab his head as he repeatedly kissed her collarbone.
"Of you? Nah." He stood back upright, and she rolled her eyes with a smile on her face.
"Here. Take these before you eat." Judah reached in a second bag, passing her two Plan B emergency contraceptive pills.
"Mr. I'ma Pull Out." She rolled her neck at him as she opened up one of the packages, listening to him laugh in response.
"I tried. That pussy was holding me too tight, wouldn't let me." He shrugged, sitting down next to her. "What you think about getting on birth control though?" He added.
"I'm not. So you need to make sure you pull out or wear a condom."
"Damn mama it's like that?"
"Yes. 'Cause the last time I was on birth control I gained hella weight, I was overly emotional, and it made my period super heavy and irregular. I'm not getting back on it." She popped both Plan B's in her mouth, washing it down with the strawberry lemonade.
"Aight then. I was just wondering. Chill." He rubbed her thigh reassuringly before leaning over to kiss her cheek.
Kianna didn't get the chance to respond to him due to the annoyingly familiar ringtone of his Nokia Flip Phone, and she looked over at him with a small pout when he picked it up off of the dresser. She hoped he wouldn't have to leave.
"It's good." He said seconds after answering the phone.
As it did every time he was dealing with the shenanigans of his business, Judah's expression hardened into his usual mug as he continued to chew his food. His thick eyebrows furrowed together, and he didn't say anything else on the phone, instead just ending the call altogether.
He flipped the phone closed and tossed it back on the dresser, sitting the half of the burrito that he was eating on back down into the box.
"What you see on my computer?" He asked her, and she couldn't front like her stomach didn't sink. She didn't even have a lie prepared.
"And don't lie to me 'cause I got a tab tracker on it, so I already know. I just want you to be straight up with me." By his tone, she couldn't tell if he was upset or not and that scared her the most. She hated when he was mad.
"I should be telling you not to lie to me." She said back, causing his head to turn to look over at her.
"You can't name one time where I ever lied to you. I always keep it a band even when it put me in a bad position."
"Keeping shit from me is damn near the same thing as lying Judah. And, you do lie. You said you took me because of some code that I supposedly have and that's literally a lie because I wasn't even old enough to talk when my dad was around." She opened the tortilla of her burrito, letting the contents of it spill into the container.
She'd much rather eat the burrito with a fork because it was way too big to fit in her mouth.
"I ain't lie. Just 'cause you can't remember it don't mean it ain't happen."
"Okay Judah shut up talking to me n-,"
"C'mon now mama we was doing good. I ain't talking crazy to you so watch yo' mouth with me. You hear me?" His hand was around her neck quicker than she realized, causing her to go quiet.
"Words. No entiendo los movimientos de la cabeza mami." He added.
"Yes." Although she had no idea what he said in Spanish, she knew that he was most likely telling her not to nod her head or something of the sort.
"Judah I don't want a kiss." She mumbled, tilting her head away from him after he pulled her closer by her neck to kiss her cheek.
"I don't give no fucks. I love you girl." He lightly bit her jaw, and she pushed his head away while attempting to hide her smile.
"Stop it. We not friends." She mixed her food around with her fork before lifting it to her mouth.
"Why? 'Cause you was being nosy, as always?"
"It ain't being nosy 'cause it was stuff about me. And for you to be so obsessed with me, you should know how I feel about my parents. You keeping shit about them from me is fucked up, Judah. I been looking for information about them since I was in middle school and you got a whole ass file about them that you could've showed me."
"How would that have changed anything? You still don't know them regardless of what you read. Your life is no different today than it was last week, now that you know. And for all you know, that shit could've been a lie." He shrugged.
"You wouldn't know if something changed 'cause you not me. You don't get to decide how anything makes me feel." Now she was starting to get upset, for real.
"Kianna if that shit really made you feel some type of a way, you wouldn't be fucking with me right now. 'Cause if it hurt yo' feelings so bad, why would you fuck me the day after finding out?"
"That has nothing to do with nothing. Both of your parents raised you and your brother with love, so you'll never be able to understand where I'm coming from. I don't wanna talk about this anymore." She put her half eaten plate on the dresser, then picked up her bottle of strawberry lemonade.
The room went quiet, and stayed quiet for quite a while. Her last statement really caught Judah off guard, and he honestly didn't have a rebuttal for that because she was right. Sometimes he forgot to acknowledge that he'd been blessed with the small things that others hadn't.
Kianna laid down against the pillows with the cover pulled over her shoulders, now staring at the wall across from her. She was trying so desperately not to cry. Her feelings were hurt though. Judah always had her emotions all over the place.
Most times he made her feel really good but there were times where he made her feel terrible, too.
"You crying mama? I'm sorry." Judah tucked his arm all the way around her to force her to turn over, facing him.
"Stop it Judah." She grabbed his face when he started to kiss hers again.
"Nah, you stop. Ask me somethin'. I'll tell you whatever you wanna know. Just don't cry." He wiped her left cheek as soon as a tear fell.
Kianna wanted to know everything. So, he told her.
"Keon gave me seven million dollars to 'kIdNaP' you." He revealed, mocking the term kidnap because she was technically no longer kidnapped, and he didn't agree to that term being used in the first place.
"What?" Her expression immediately went flat as she sat back up in the bed. What kind of lifetime shit was he talking about?
"He said somethin' 'bout him getting an insurance policy from yo' daddy if you died, but it had to be of natural causes or something. He couldn't put a hit out on you 'cause y'all daddy got ties with too many people so he would've found out. He don't have no ties with me though, so Keon paid me to do it."
"That was damn near two years ago, I think it was just before you turned 21, 'cause that's when you got the first part of yo' inheritance, right?" He looked at her for confirmation, causing her to slowly nod her head. She'd be 23 in a few months.
"So that's when I started watching you. It's a certain way you gotta go about shit like that, I can't just flat out kill you 'cause-you know, too obvious. And nothing could happen right after your birthday 'cause yo' daddy would know it wouldn't have been a coincidence."
"Wait-wait, you keep talking about him in present tense as if he's still alive." She interrupted him; and that couldn't have been true because she seen his death certificate in the file Judah had.
"Some people say he dead, some mo' say they been in contact with him. Yo' brother don't know if he is or not, and to be honest, I really don't either. He was too big, you know? Like, that nigga was ten times bigger than me. He supply the connects of the connects type shit. And he know mad niggas that ah' kill anybody who go looking for him. It's happened before." He told her.
"So he might still be alive? Judah are you being for real 'cause this sounds like a fantasy book." She had a frown on her face as she stared at him.
"Well you know I ain't no liar, so." He shrugged, using his thumb to scratch his mustache.
"And you've been watching me for two years?" She asked in confusion.
"Give or take. It unintentionally formed a lil' obsession though, so I ruined the 'mission', but I can't say I regret it." He shrugged again.
"You were supposed to kill me? Are you still gonna?" She furrowed her eyebrows, and he stared at her with a flat face.
"Is you deadass?"
"I wouldn't put it past you. You're evil like that. It's seven million dollars and everybody knows you don't play about your money." Now, it was her turn to shrug.
"True. But I still got the seven M's-well, it's probably spent by now, but I ain't give him no refund or nothin'." He chuckled, still rubbed his beard.
"Will he try to kill you since you didn't do what he asked? Or kill me himself?" She then asked.
"I wouldn't let nothing happen to you. You ain't gotta worry 'bout that, ever."
"But you. Will he try to hurt you?" She asked again.
"Maybe. I can't be fucked with though. You ain't gotta worry 'bout that either." He assured, making her nod her head again. She just got him and she wasn't ready to lose him or be taken away from him just yet.
"So what was that sixty million dollar code all about? Was that a lie?" She inquired further.
"Not really.. Your father gave you 100 million dollars just because you were his first and only daughter. On your 21st birthday, you got 38 million in a trust fund. You get the 62 M's when you turn 25. If you die before then, it goes to Keon. I guess yo' daddy ain't fuck wit' him like that 'cause he only got 10 million and he gave seven to me, so," He shrugged once more.
"Thirty-eight million? Dollars? In my account right now?" Her eyes practically popped out of her head, making him smile.
"Mhm. You rich as fuck mama."
"38? Like, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22-,"
"Yes Kianna. Shut yo' ass up." He mushed her head, and she laughed as he caught her arm before she could fall off the bed.
"I can't believe it. That's so much money. I could buy me a house with that and still have a bunch left. And I can get a car, too. I could build my own court. Like, that's so much. Why wouldn't the accountant tell me I had all of that?! I've been rationing my money for no damn reason."
"I could've been bought you that shit if you would've asked." He sat up in the bed as well, grabbing his iPad off of the dresser.
"Stop it boy. I'm exaggerating." She took the iPad from him, and he smiled at the fact that she knew he was about to have his accountant look for the things she'd mentioned.
"I said you can have whatever you likeeee. Yeahhh, late night sex, so wet and so tight," He sung T.I. to her, putting his face in her neck while she laughed.
"Long as you got me, you won't need nobody. You want it, I got it, go get it, I'll buy it." He bit her collarbone, holding a grin on his face at the sight of her laughing.
"I know it. I love you so much." She cheesed, wrapping her arms around his neck as he laid back down against the pillows.
"I love you more. I'm sorry I ain't tell you what was up from the get go. You prolly wouldn't have loved me if I did though." He chuckled, flicking her bottom lip.
"That's okay. Thank you for protecting me. And for, you know, not killing me. I love my life." She dramatically exhaled, causing his smile to grow.
"I love yo' life too."
