"It has been four long months Mak, Where have you been? Where are your brothers? Any news about Dali? Anything?" I asked him

"My brothers are here with their roommates."

"Probably feeding!" I interrupted

"We're not trying to leave any more trails. Dali is smarter than you think- she will realize that we're not in Freeridge anymore and will continue to search for us. Dali is stronger than any other hunter." He explained.

"And we were with the vampire council, hiding." He sighs

I placed my hand on his shoulder to comfort him, he glared into my eyes before pushing my hand away. "So what about you? What have you been doing?"

"You guys honestly fucked my mental health up, but I'm fine now, my brother and mother are sad that I had to leave which made me devastated," I explained

Mak stood up from the bed, fixing himself. "You have to understand-

"I do." I interrupted

"Mak, it's okay I'm not mad- anymore, my family is safe now." I smiled softly

"For now."

"What?"

"Nothing, anyways I'm going to go take a shower." He walked off

Typical Mak, one minute he's calm and likable, and then the next minute he's mean and unlikeable-pick a struggle bloodsucker.

I unlocked my phone from a ding notification.
It was Gloria. "Meet me outside on campus grounds"

I texted her back with "K" It was random but hey! What else could go wrong? I'm finally moving on with my life-so making new friends was the best start.

I grabbed my bag and swung it over my shoulder, as I made my way to touch the door handle Mak's voice caused me to jump.

"where are you going?" I turned around to look at the tall beautiful man who was soaking wet, with a black towel wrapped around his lower body.

I glared at the boy from head to toe before speaking again. "Uh, why?"

"Just wondering?" He glared back

"Outside?"

"Ok."

"Okay."

Mak's facial expression was confused. I watched as he headed back towards the bathroom to get dried off.

Anyways.

I made my way out of campus, onto the grass- where I noticed Gloria and her friends sitting on a blanket. "Hey, girl!" Gloria examined me

"You ain't hot?" She glared at my hoodie and sweatpants that I was currently wearing.

"No."

"Well, this is my friends- meet Conan and Mason."

"Conan is 20 and Mason is 19."

"Hello." I greeted the two males.

I shook their hands as I greeted them, "I'm Rhea." I replied with my nose scrunched up from the sudden odor from the two handsome males.

"Why do I smell wet dog?" I randomly blurted

"Sorry about that." Conan laughed.

"Me and Conan were playing football out here before you came out." He chuckled

"Anyways, I'm hosting a party today on campus I think you should come- it would be like a celebration for your first day here." She explained

"I don't know."

Every party I encountered was a disaster, I wasn't sure about this one but Gloria did make it sound intriguing. And with my mental health fucked up within the past few months a party would be good.

"Oh come on, it won't be horrible." She begged

I turned to look at the males who were signaling me to say yes.

"Rhea." Mak's voice said from behind

He was wearing black shades in his signature black jacket. "Come on." He said

I walked towards him, not wanting to cause a scene. "If you'll Excuse me," I said to Gloria

"Come on? To where?"

"Inside."

"I'm talking to my new buddies right now."

"I don't give a fuck, come on." He grabbed my arm

I yanked my arm away, "what is wrong with you? After four months you want to come back into my life being a jerk again? -like you're my father?"

He continues to glare at the trio continuously. "Look at me when I'm talking to you," I demanded

His gaze turned to me, his facial expressions were surprised by my dominant stance. "Who are you talking to Rhea?" His voice sounded gruff.

I took a minute before responding "You."

"You're so fucking gullible, how many parties that you've gone to that were a disaster? Count." He demanded

I held up my fingers and counted, I was counting slowly on purpose to make the boy mad.

He stared at my slow movement. He was getting furious. "Is everything alright?" Gloria, Conan, and his brother stood up to the vampire.

He grunted before speaking again. "Everything is fine, you guys can go back rolling on the grass like fucking dogs."

"I don't think we were asking you," Conan replied

Mak eyed the boy as he was challenging him.
I stepped in between the boys not wanting violence to occur. "Everything is alright Conan, thank you." I smiled at him

Conan glared at me before looking back at Mak. "You can tell Gloria that I'm coming," I told the male.

"Alright."

"You got to be fucking kidding me," Mak grunted

I walked back inside with Mak, I noticed his mean glares between the trio. "What's wrong with you," I questioned the boy

Silence.

I rolled my eyes from the ignorance and continued walking.

We made it back into the dorm room where he and his brothers were. I ran and hugged all of them one by one.
While I was hugging Marcus I noticed Mak talking to Malachi and Milo about something.

"Why is Mak being weird," I whispered to Marcus.

Marcus turned to look at his brother who heard what I said- with his vampire hearing.

"You're gullible, no one is being weird you're just always putting you're self in danger."

"Me going to a party is dangerous? Just because the other one I went to was bad doesn't mean every party is, and I'm fucking eighteen so I can make my own fucking choices! Y'all don't need to sit here and babysit me." I turned to look at Malachi who was standing still with his arms crossed. " Malachi I helped you from a 500-year-old Hunter almost killing you."

"And then she almost killed you."

"That's literally not the point."

"Stop doubting me and underestimating me as a weak little bitch."

Milo walked towards me with his palm on my shoulder, "We just care about you, that's all." He said calmly

Milo's response touched me, I turned to look at Mak who was avoiding contact like he was trying to deny it, but it was true. I felt the same way between them.

"I understand, even if you like it or not, I make my own choices." I eyed the boys but mostly Mak.

I headed towards my clothes to find a cute party dress. I felt gazes from behind me i understood their concern but it was a little too much. I felt like a little kid being babysitted and I did not want to feel like that.

a/n: Oh wow I cannot believe we at chapter 32! I honestly love how the boys care about Rhea very much.

Not only that Rhea got attached but the boys did too.
