Coyote Creek.

Jess and the rest of Cobra Kai stood in the middle of the woods. They were split into two teams. Red and black bands is what organized them into groups. Ava and Jess were on the red team, while Timmy and Tory were on the black team.

"Gentlemen", Kreese spoke as he stepped in front of Johnny. Jess cleared her throat, giving Kreese a pointed look. The old man paused before adding, "ladies". The four girls of Cobra Kai nodded their heads in approval.

"Welcome to Coyote Creek. You've been split into two teams. Red and Black," Kreese walked between the two groups, and signaled to the colored bands on the teens heads.

"The goal is to capture as many headbands as possible from the other side," Jess eyed the other team. She was making a list in her head of whom to take down first. She had to win. No matter what.

"Today the people across from you are not your friends. They're not your brothers. They are the enemy," Kreese stood in front of both groups. Jess looked over at Timmy and Tory with a small nod. None of the friends wanted to hurt each other, but they knew what had to be done.

"The last team standing wins. But before you all start, I need to introduce someone to you," A girl with blonde, wavy hair stepped next to Kreese. Jess furrowed her brows in confusion. She hadn't seen the girl at all today.

"This is my niece, Riley Smith. I've been training her since she was a young girl. She will be joining Cobra Kai. You should all look up to her," Jess glared at the blonde girl. Jess knew she was the best fighter in the dojo. Riley looked tough, but was she as tough as Jess? Riley's lips, stained with dark mauve lipstick, formed into a smirk. Her blue eyes studied the group, ready to fight. Her eyes met Jess's and the two silently dared the other to look away first. Without saying a word, both girls knew there was going to be competition between each other. Jess planned to take Riley down during this game, and Riley thought the same thing towards Jess.

"Riley, you will be on Team Black," Kreese handed her a headband, and the girl walked over to her team.

"How do we get the headbands?" Miguel asked Kreese. The older man didn't even spare a glance in the boys direction, but responded nonetheless. "By any means possible. No rules".

Jess smirked at the news. She could do whatever she needed to in order to win. Her eyes immediately landed on Riley who was already staring at back at her. The LaRusso girl gave an intimidating look to which Riley rolled her eyes at.

"Use your judgement. This is just a training exercise," Johnny quickly reassured the group of teens when he noticed some students tensed up.

"Correct, but remember", Kreese lifted a red band, signaling its importance, "You lose it, you die". Kreese gave an evil smirk as he lowered the band. Before anyone could react, Raymond walked over to the group.

"Hey, guys! Sorry I'm late," Jess snorted at the sight of the man. He had dyed his beard and made a twist braid that looked absolutely ridiculous. His wardrobe had changed too. He was wearing a black jean jacket with a red t-shirt.

Next to Jess, Ava tried her best not to laugh at the man. Jess and Ava looked at each other and bursted out laughing. No one payed much attention to the girls because everyone was in shock at Raymond's new look.

"Traffic on the 118 was a real bitch. Put Coyote Creek into the nav. Nothing came up," Everyone looked at Raymond weirdly before Johnny spoke for everyone.

"What have you done to yourself?" He looked Raymond up and down with a confused look on his face. Raymond just looked down at himself before taking off his sunglasses.

"Oh, well, yeah, you know what, I just decided to flip the script, Hawk-style. Respect," Raymond pointed at Hawk who stared at the man with a disgust.

"Heretofore, you can refer to me...as Stingray," He looked around, with a look on his face. Jess rolled her eyes at Stingray. He was trying so hard to look cool, and failed...miserably.

"Yeah, all right, Chubs," Johnny spoke not caring about Stingray's "new look and name". He turned to Kreese, "He's on your team".

Kreese just muttered to himself with sarcasm dripping from his voice.

"Terrific"

Jess and Ava were walking through the woods together. They each had gotten a number of bands in the few minutes they had been walking. The two teens made small talk before two people jumped in front of them. Timmy and Tory smiled at the two girls.

"We're gonna need to get those two bands you have," Timmy pointed to Jess and Ava's head.

"You mind handing them over?" Tory smirked at Jess. The LaRusso girl tilted her head mockingly, "What you can't get it yourself?"

Timmy stared at Jess and Ava with wide eyes. He knew he didn't stand a chance between the two girls. "You actually want to fight for them?"

Jess simply nodded before looking at Tory, "You're mine". Jess smirked before she threw a roundhouse kick at the girl. Tory ducked last minute before standing up straight. Tory smirked, "You're on".

As the two girls fought, so did Timmy and Ava. Tory and Jess talked as they fought.

"Your hair looks cute today," Tory complimented Jess. The LaRusso girl had her hair in its natural form today. When she moved into Johnny's apartment she hadn't brought much with her from home. Her natural hair was a little wavy, but not curly like her sister's was. Her hair was dark brown, but in the sunlight you could see the natural orange and blonde highlights in her hair.

Jess smiled and looked Tory up and down. Tory was distracted, and Jess knew never to get distracted in the middle of a fight. She kicked Tory's legs off the floor, and the girl fell. Tory laid on her back as she looked up at the LaRusso girl. Jess lowered herself and looked down at Tory. They stared into each others eyes for a long time. Jess didn't know why, but she felt nervous as she stared into Tory's eyes. She pushed that feeling down, and took Tory's band.  

Jess stood up and started walking away from her three friends. Timmy and Ava both managed to take each others bands off at the same time, and Tory sat up watching Jess leave. Tory had also felt something when she was staring at Jess. But she didn't know what that feeling was.

As Jess walked away, she turned around one last time and gave Tory a small salute.

"Thanks for the headband, babe" And with that Jess walked away, as if nothing had happened.

Jess walked alone in the woods. She was on the lookout for anyone that would want to attack her. Her mind kept wandering back to everything happening to her in her life. Her family. Her dad. Her living situation. Nothing had been easy for the young girl lately.

As Jess walked further into the forest, she sensed that she was being followed. She slowed down her pace and balled up her fists, ready to fight. She heard leaves crunch behind her. Jess turned around and saw Riley standing a few feet away from her.

"I'm Riley," the blonde girl spoke with an intimidating tone, but Jess wasn't fazed.

"I'm Jess. Why are you here?" Jess glared at the girl in front of her. Riley smirked, "I'm here to kick your ass".

Jess scoffed and rolled her eyes at the girl, "Yeah that's not gonna happen Blondie." Jess threw a fast punch, but Riley easily dodged it. The blonde girl quickly attacked Jess, but the LaRusso girl put up a hard fight.

After a few seconds of missed punches, Riley kicked Jess in the stomach causing the girl to fall to the floor. Jess tried to get up as fast as could, but Riley kicked her in the face. Jess coughed as she hunched over.

"I'm taking over this dojo. Whether you like it or not," Riley pulled the red band off of Jess's head roughly, "Bye bitch". Jess glared weakly at the girl as she walked away. The LaRusso girl felt anger bubble within her. She punched the ground with a yell.

Jess made her way over to the rest of Cobra Kai. Everyone went quiet when they saw the look on her face. Anyone could tell that she was mad from even a mile away. She walked over to her friends, and at the sight of them she calmed down a little. When she made eye contact with Tory the nerves that she felt earlier came back. She pushed that feeling down once again, and stood next to her.

"Someone finally got you out, huh?" Tory smiled at Jess. She felt the same nerves as her friend, but decided to ignore them too.

Jess sighed, "Unfortunately. It was that bitch that Sensei Kreese brought". Jess's jaw was tight in anger. Tory put her hand on Jess to calm her down, and it did. Jess looked over at Tory with soft eyes, "Sorry if I hurt you earlier".

Tory let out a small laugh, "Who are you? Where did Jess go because the Jess I know would never apologize for kicking someone's ass," Jess rolled her eyes, shoving her friend playfully, "Shut up".

A silence fell over them, and they stared at each other again, but it was cut short by everyone in Cobra Kai rushing forward. Tory and Jess looked at each other confused before they followed everyone to see what was happening.

Miguel and Hawk were fighting, but this time it was different. It was as if they weren't friends. It was as if they were enemies. Miguel won the fight and walked towards the group. There was a look in his eyes that Jess had never seen before.

Kreese looked at Miguel, "Finish him".

With a dark look Miguel nodded and kicked Hawk so hard in the face that Hawk fell back down again.

Miguel raised Hawks band high in the air, "Team Black!" Timmy and Tory high fived at their teams victory. Jess rolled her eyes as she glared at Hawk.

"Why'd you have to lose like such a pussy man!" Jess rolled her eyes at Hawk, but she quickly jumped out of the way as Stingray came out from the ground...literally.

He grabbed Miguel roughly and pulled him into a choke hold, "You know, the thing about stingrays is they lie and wait for the perfect opportunity...to strike!" Stingray pulled Miguel's band off before he shoved him to the floor. He raised the band in the air in victory and let out a battle cry, "The Red Team just won!"

Jess and Ava looked at each other in shock before they jumped up and down. "Fuck yeah! That's what I'm talking about! Thanks Stingray," Jess patted his back before she continued to celebrate with the Red Team. She caught Riley glaring at her from a few feet away. Jess stopped for a moment before smiling sarcastically at the blond girl and flipping her off.  Riley just rolled her and stormed off. Jess just laughed and huges Ava.

"We won!"

i finally updates after like a hundred years 🥳🥳🥳
sorry about that
i got busy because of school, and i also had a lot going on in my life with family, and eventually i lost motivation
but wattpad sent me an email last night telling me that i hadn't update in a while soooo....i updated 🙃
i hope you guys like it and i'm gonna try updating more often before school starts again
