THE DOCTOR paced back and forth, his coat dramatically swaying behind him like he was auditioning for some over-the-top villain role.

“I’m telling you, funding this place was no mistake.” He paused to peer out the window, a suspicious gleam in his eye.

Wattpad, or whatever these potential new test subjects called it, was buzzing outside, filled with people minding their own business.

He snuck a glance at the black cat lounging on his desk – Akira, who, despite his unfortunate transformation, still carried himself with the dignity of someone who absolutely did not want to be here.

“Look at all of them,” The Doctor continued, voice dripping with excitement. “Fresh faces popping in every five minutes! No one would even notice if one or two disappeared...”

Akira sighed dramatically, his white-and-black heterochromia eyes narrowing. “This again, Doctor?” He muttered, swishing his tail in annoyance.

“Oh, don’t be like that!” The Doctor replied with a mischievous grin, casually reaching out to give Akira a head pat.

The cat flinched, his ears flattening on head. “Stop that! I am not your pet!”

“Technically, you’re a cat now, so... yes, you are.” Another playful pat.

Akira sulked, tail flicking in pure feline frustration or... whatever that is he's feeling. “You’re the reason I’m stuck in this form...”

The Doctor chuckled. “Details, details. Focus on the big picture, my dear Akira. The Asylum hasn't even opened yet, but soon! Oh, the experiments we’ll run, the chaos we’ll create!”

Peering outside again, the Doctor spotted a new arrival, practically bouncing in with a bright, “Hi! I’m new here! <3”

The Doctor smirked, eyes gleaming. “Another one choosing this... Wattpad... place to inhibit. They have no idea what’s coming, do they?”

Akira rolled his eyes, already regretting his entire existence. “Do you have to do this every time someone new shows up?”

“Oh, but it’s so entertaining!” The Doctor exclaimed, spinning around dramatically. “This place is brimming with potential test subjects, perfect for some good ol’... experimentation.”

He rubbed his hands together in that classic villainous way, while Akira groaned.

“You need a hobby,” Akira grumbled, tail flicking again as the Doctor ruffled his fur one more time, earning a death glare.

“I have a hobby. It’s called mad science!”

Akira let out a long sigh. “This is going to be a long eternity...”

"........,"

The Doctor stood in front of the door, adjusting his gloves with a dramatic flair, humming under his breath.

With one swift motion, he swung the door wide open, revealing the chaos inside:

Segments—those strange, identical versions of himself—scurrying about, moving "furniture" that definitely weren't suspiciously large, organ-shaped crates.

Nope.

Not at all.

As he stepped into the hallway, his eyes landed on an unsuspecting passerby strolling by, completely absorbed in their phone.

The Doctor’s lips curled into a dangerously charming smile. “Well, well, what do we have here?” He purred, making the passerby look up in mild confusion.

“Oh! Hi, uh, who are you?” You asked, blinking as you clearly tried to piece together what this place even was.

The Doctor gave an elegant bow, his voice dripping with charisma and just a hint of sinister. “I am the Doctor, your humble guide through this delightful chaos. And you, my dear, are just in time.”

You blinked at him, raising an eyebrow but clearly charmed, as the Doctor started leading you through the corridors.

He gestured grandly at the twisted, strange décor that seemed to change with every turn.

Welcome to the halls where sanity fades,

Where chaos reigns, and no one’s afraid,

Follow me now, don’t be shy,

In this world, it’s do or die~ ♫

You chuckled nervously, but still pulled out your phone, holding it up as you glanced back at the Doctor with a smile. “Uh, sure... I’ll give you a follow?”

The Doctor’s eyes twinkled as he beamed. “How delightful!” He crooned, continuing his charming tune as you walked, his voice practically oozing charisma.

A follow for a doctor, now isn’t that sweet,

You’ll find out soon you’ve got a front-row seat,

To madness, experiments, and more,

Once you enter, there’s no exit door~

Just as you turned the corner, a segment of the Doctor came barreling out of nowhere, bat in hand, eyes wide with glee.

"SIKE!" They shouted, gleefully swinging the bat right at your head.

WHAM .ᐟ

You crumpled to the ground in front of the Doctor.

Silence.

The Doctor and his segment stared at each other.

The segment looked smug, bat resting on their shoulder.

“I convinced them,” The Doctor said smoothly, folding his arms.

The segment blinked. “Oh.”

A beat of awkward silence passed.

The Doctor cleared his throat, glancing at the now unconscious person. "Well, that’s one way to gain a follower."

The segment smirked. “Works every time.”

"........,"

You slowly start regaining consciousness, your mind foggy like you’ve just woken up from a fever dream.

Your head throbs painfully – did you hit it on something?

Everything feels like a distant blur.

Wait… why can’t you move?

A weight.

There’s something on top of you.

You squint against the harsh light beaming down, and your eyes struggle to adjust.

Through your disoriented vision, a figure begins to come into focus.

A man, wearing a mask.

Not just any mask – this thing looks like it came straight from a designer dystopian fashion show.

Unique, creepy, and somehow… stylish?

It clicks.

The Doctor.

No… not quite.

Something’s off.

This guy looks like the Doctor’s… weird cousin?

Why is he on top of you, though?

Your heart jumps into overdrive as you finally realize – you’re strapped down.

On a surgery table.

"Ah, you’re finally awake!" The masked man cheerfully calls out, his voice ringing with way too much enthusiasm for this kind of situation. “I was starting to get bored.”

You glance around frantically, and that’s when you notice them – more of him.

Segments.

All casually walking around, doing who-knows-what, or worse – looking at you like you’re the last slice at a pizza party.

Not the good kind either – the kind where they start fighting over the crust.

The man on top of you taps a syringe, his eyes gleaming with excitement as the liquid inside turns an ominous green.

“Don’t worry,” He hums, the syringe glistening under the light, “It won’t hurt too much.”

Too much? TOO MUCH?!

Before you can react, stab.

The needle plunges into your skin, and instantly, it feels like you’ve been set on fire from the inside out.

Every nerve in your body is screaming, burning like you just took a dip in a volcano.

“H-hurts—!” You try to say, but all that comes out is a gurgle as your entire being convulses in agony.

The segment watches your suffering with amusement, tapping your cheek like you’re a pet hamster.

“Now, now, sleep some more,” He coos sweetly, casually pinching your nose and popping it like you’re a balloon.

The others around the table giggle like it’s the funniest thing they’ve seen all week.

As if you are the main act in this twisted circus.

Your eyelids grow heavy, the world dimming around you as their laughter echoes in your ears.

Just before darkness claims you completely, you hear a familiar voice.

Welcome to the Asylum, dear one.

And then – poof.

Out like a light.
